The 6 Best Thai Restaurants In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Eating at Erawan in Rittenhouse feels like having dinner at your favorite aunt’s house. Everyone gets a personal welcome, the dining room is warm and smells great, and you’ll leave just a bit more full than is comfortable. None of the Northern Thai dishes here are blow-your-mind delicious, but the drunken noodles, fried chive cakes, and massaman curry are all reliable. We usually lean heavily on the chef’s specialties—the tender kor moo yang and mountain of crab fried rice are standouts—especially when we're with a group." - alison kessler, candis mclean

Great ambiance and even better food. The rib eye, the lobster, fried rice and mango sticky rice all so decadent and melts in your mouth. Not to mention, the service is so hospitable! Can’t wait to come back!

Google
The best thai restaurant in town. We had a great experience, not only does the food taste good but also good service. The staff here is nice, they provide the menu with pictures so we got exactly what we wanted. We love the seafood and curry here as well, and the thai iced tea. The fried ice cream at the end is a HIT💥

We ordered from the catering menu and WOW! The food was so good. Very delicious. Fresh veggies and spring rolls were great! Thank you!

Google
This is the restaurant to celebrate our milestones. My husband proposed to me 9 years ago at Erawan. Since then, we celebrated most of our anniversary at Erawan. We had our first Valentines Day celebration with their signature Seafood Paella, yummy! The service was impeccable, staff are knowledgeable and always recommended great food options. We love to come here to dine, relaxed environment, great food, most importantly memories counts.

Google
One of my favorite Thai restaurants! You won’t regret coming here. I highly recommend it—every dish is delicious and perfectly balanced. The service is great too!

Google
Erawan Thai is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in Bayside! The atmosphere is cozy, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The staff was super friendly and provided excellent service. Now, the food—absolutely incredible! The PadThai was perfectly balanced, not too sweet or oily, and packed with flavor. The Scallop Soup had just the right amount of spice and tanginess, and the Banana Spring Roll was the perfect way to end the meal. Every dish tasted fresh and authentic. If you’re craving real Thai food in Bayside, this is the place to go! Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Erawan is my favorite Thai restaurant served quality and delicious food. Must try Pla Pao grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves and Crabmeat Salad with rich dressing . Staffs are friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere worth to visited every time never disappoint

Google
Amazing lunch specials! You get so much for your money. They come with soup or salad. My favorite is Pad Thai. The Pad Thai is my absolute go-to – it's just right, not too sweet like some places. The ginger dressing on the side salad is exceptionally refreshing; I'm obsessed with it and wish they sold it separately! The staff are always friendly and provide great service. Highly recommend, giving this place a try!

Yelp
I have been coming here for 20 years. Always a great meal and great service. This is by far the best Thai food I ever had and it is well worth the trip from Suffolk county to get here. If you like Thai food you will be more than pleased with the food, the staff and the Thai atmosphere they created. Excellent.

Yelp
Love Erawan's food!! I've been coming here for many years and it never disappoints! The appetizers are delicious, one of my favorites is Jeeb Pu (crab dumplings) with the soy vanaigerette dip. The Chicken Satay and peanut sauce is another favorite of mine. The wait staff is very attentive and the management is welcoming. Nice atmosphere, good place for a date night.

Yelp
This restaurant absolutely blew me away! Every single dish my family and I enjoyed did not miss! All the dishes were so great, but the Thai Spare Ribs were my favorite. Also got their stuffed lobster pad thai, pad khing, fried rice and duck, which were all so savory without being heavy or greasy. You could really tell they care about quality ingredients and balance in flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the incredible service. They were exceptionally attentive and very kind. Overall, it was such a memorable experience and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Excellent. Erawan is the best Thai restaurant that I have ever been to. The food is superb. My favorite meal is the red curry tofu with peppers, etc. and it comes with a delicious coconut milk sauce. You can order it with white or brown rice (which has some vegetables mixed in it). The green salad is always very fresh with tomatoes, strips of carrots and a tangy carrot sauce. Green tea ice cream is refreshing at the end of my meal. The owners and staff are very nice, attentive and professional. The decor is lovely...it's like you are in Thailand. The interior is uplifting with light egg blue and copper/brown painted walls, tapestry and art, a big wooden elephant statue is by the front door, etc.. I highly recommend Erawan restaurant in Bayside.

Yelp
I had a great lunch here. Service was great, they attended me promptly upon my arrival and made sure to check in on me occasionally. It was the last day before renovations, there was a sign on the door stating they would be closed for a few days so i didn't mind the ambiance. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Been here before. Returned this V day and was not disappointed for our visit. Glad that we made a call reservation as it was packed when we walked in. Decoration is festive. Ambiance is traditional . Service is fast. Our wait staff is pleasant and efficient. Food is good , tasted very homey. Serving amount is plenty for the pricing. We were not rushed to enjoy our dining experience even we saw lots of walk in's . Pleasant dining.

Yelp
The food is always fresh & delicious, served by a friendly and courteous staff. The decor is tastefully done and the space is warmly lit. Weekday lunches are a great bargain, with many choices under $15. It includes soup or salad plus entree. Their drink menu is excellent with both happy hour specials as well as more exotic cocktails, all under $15 each. We heartily recommend their moo ping (pork on a stick), chicken satay , pad krapow (spicy sliced pork, chicken or beef & vegetables) (all served with rice) and their various curries. The pork dumpling appetizer was also excellent (and only $5 during lunch specials!). We've had dinner here on several occasions as well, and have always left happy with the experience. This is a wonderful neighborhood gem, and easily the best Thai restaurant in Bayside!

Yelp
Nice friendly staff and good options. Massaman curry with tofu was delicious and the Pad Thai has a nice thick sauce.

Yelp
Picked up takeout from this spot. While they do have the more well known dishes (in America) like Thai curries, pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice, I love stepping out of my comfort zone and trying some more traditional dishes when restaurants offer them. I got the Curry Puffs, Yum Petd, and Pla Laard Preeg. All of the dishes were delicious, and the chili sauce that comes with the fish would be amazing on absolutely anything! I know not everyone loves a whole fish since there are all the bones, but I grew up eating them whole steamed, so I'm used to it. Give it a try, especially if it's fried like this, the meat comes away easily from the bones, and you can just mix it with rice to eat with the sauce. The duck was also super yummy, and a nice balance of flavors with sweet pineapple, crunchy cashew, tangy red onion, and spice from the chili. Small parking lot in the back and then there's street parking as well.

Ms B.

Yelp
The food was okay. It's never that busy whenever we get take out and one time, the chicken with basil tasted funny. :(

Yelp
If your looking for a beautiful good food and drinks restaurant in bayside or queens ..... look no further. This place is absolutely wonderful. The owners and staff are amazing. Food outstanding. Service great. So pissed I moved from the area. However anytime I meet my besties. This is the place to go. Ps the erawan steak with their side sauce is to die for. I have not found the steak sauce at any other Thai Restaurant.

Yelp
Authentic Thai cuisine. Food is amazing, service is caring and always friendly, drinks are great. Especially Asian pear martini. We travel from Huntington long island for years and food only gets better. You will have a great experience

Yelp
A Bayside mainstay 25 Years & Counting - Stopped in for Lunch - Greeted by a friendly lady- Seated - Room is very clean & bright - ordered a cocktail which was excellent btw Erawan has the best Sangria - ordered lunch which was delicious & expertly prepared - Very courteous & professional staff - I would highly recommend.

Rosita Z.

Yelp
Terrible food. Everything tasted the same, we ordered some chicken with lemongrass but no lemongrass flavor nor lemongrass was found. The food was also very salty. Place is really loud. This is more like a pub to hang out with friends rather than to eat.

Yelp
Erawan Thai is fantastic and I can see why it's been around for quite some time. Do take note that some items are a lot better than others, albeit everything is subjective depending on the person of course. My friend and I got the ribs which were absolutely fantastic and some of the best ribs I've had. Make sure to use that wet wipe- you will need it! For my main dish I got the koong gai sub which is a noodle dish with ground chicken and shrimp and a lot of basil leaves and bell peppers. It was great and the portion was more than adequate but if I were to order it next time I would ask them to hold off on the excessive amount of onions. All in all, this is a solid Thai spot and I can see why it's been around for years.

Joy C.

Yelp
The staff are we are friendly. Food is very delicious. The parking is not difficult to find there's a meter on the street right across the Bayside Long Island railway.

Tamara G.

Yelp
The food & service was amazing! I was celebrating my birthday and the servers surprised me with a delicious desert! Everything was delicious, ambiance was relaxing and beautifully decorated!

Esther S.

Yelp
Erawan Thai Bayside is a cornerstone of the neighborhood's dining scene, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere that has made it a local favorite for years. The restaurant's authentic Thai decor, complete with warm lighting and traditional artwork, sets the stage for a memorable meal. The menu at Erawan Thai Bayside is extensive, featuring a wide array of classic and contemporary Thai dishes. Among the standouts is the Garlic Fried Rice, a fragrant and flavorful dish that has been hailed as one of the best in the area. The Dumpling Soup with Napa Cabbage is another must-try, with a delicate broth and perfectly crafted dumplings. For those who enjoy duck, the Duck with Basil and the Pla Shu-shee (duck in a spicy coconut sauce) are both exceptional choices, showcasing the kitchen's ability to balance rich flavors with aromatic herbs and spices. Adventurous diners will be rewarded with the Whole Lobster with Peppercorn Sauce, a truly decadent and unforgettable dish. Save room for dessert! That mango sticky rice is definitely a perfect way to experience your Erawan Thai Bayside.

Yelp
Excellent food!! Service was extremely fast and the food was super authentic! Only wished that the restaurant wasn't so loud, but I totally recommend the Pad Sea-Eiw and Kaeng Ped, both tasted amazing!

Yelp
Great Thai food. Been coming since around 2020 or 2021. I like the salmon lunch special and the duck. The Pad See Ew is also good. Thai ice tea etc and more. Pic below is Duck with red curry sauce. There is some limited free parking behind the bank but street parking down the block as well.

Yelp
Visited for lunch. There are plenty of parking spaces on the back of the building. If not, there are many street parking (metered and non-metered). There is e-car charge not too far from this restaurant (street access). I loved the interior and atmosphere of this restaurant. There are so many greens inside of this restaurant. I loved all the decorations and plants. Very classical atmosphere. Music was not too loud. It was the perfect spot for a quiet lunch. I ordered drunken noodle, pad kee mao. Lunch, it comes with either mushroom soup or salad. They were both great. Pad kee mao was chewy, richy and flavorful. The portion was a little small for 31 years old average size dude. I wished the portion was bigger. Staff were very kind. They don't force you to "hurry up" with the order. Servers were very helpful in explaining the menu and providing services without interrupting too much. I really loved the service! Overall, i really recommend this restaurant to visit with family or colleagues.

Yelp
Virin is amazing just like her food.. always a pleasure and we will be back as usual. Coconuts soup (tom kha soup) is amazing as my nephew said

Joe M.

Yelp
This was a delicious vegetarian dish. Mushrooms were out of this world . I added ginger and tofu. What a delicious meal with amazing flavor. Light and full of flavor. A great vegan dish to try I highly recommend it.
google avatar

C F.

Yelp
This restaurant has pretty decent food. Came back a second time and tried some new dishes. The braised slice pork with mushrooms was ok but not as good as the Thai spring rolls. The dish was good but the sauce is a pale comparison to the plum sauce for the spring rolls. I was told the salmon is decent but a bit spicy. The pad see ew I was informed js very good and flavorful. If you like seafood, this is the dish for you. The fish is good, it's flaky with a gingery taste. When comparing though, the fish cooked in the banana leaf was more flavorful. The waiter we have on this dining experience is super attentive. No need to ask for refills, he just automatically refills the glasses. Polite and professional. Definitely a plus for the restaurant.

Sinee S.

Yelp
The food is so delicious and the service is amazing. The place is cozy and nice decoration.

Yelp
Erawan has always been on point! IYKYK, you can literally use the menu like a Ouiji board and you will get lucky every time... the ambiance, the service, and the quality is high-end and to be held at a higher standardstay tuned for pics

Yelp
I ordered a papaya salad, it didn't as good as the ones I used to eat , my family food is fine , service here is not really friendly for sure, the restaurant is a Asian small restaurant look .
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
Usually reserve eating Thai in Jackson Heights/Elmhurst area but didn't want to take the commute there so we (party of 3) decided to give this spot a try. For appetizers, we got Satay ($11 for 4 pc) and Curry puff ($11 for 2 pc). Chicken Satay was tender and flavorful. Curry puff was good, but a bit overpriced for only 2 pc?? We also got an order of shrimp Tom Yum soup, which lacked aromatic lemongrass/kaffir leaves and a bit too sweet. Lastly we got an order of papaya salad ($11) which was VERY disappointing. I asked for extra sour papaya salad and got a very bland, chemically tasting salad. It didn't taste like they used real freshly squeezed lime juice (perhaps from a bottle?) and there was little to no flavor. The one and only saving grace of the meal was their Pla Pao (grilled fish in banana leaves) - it did have a slight fishy smell/taste, but at this point it was the best thing we had at the restaurant. It's grilled with a bunch of Thai herbs making the dish super aromatic and also came with a tangy sauce.

Victoria K.

Yelp
Im surprised they have 3.5. Their talai Thai is DELICIOUS if you like seafood. I always get it. Drinks are strong. Staff is respectful.
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
I love Erawan Thai! The atmosphere and the food are great and there have even been some improvements with a change in ownership. The Pa Nang curry is one of my favorites and be sure to get the curry puffs as an app.
google avatar

Jonny B.

Yelp
Erawan steak, sticky rice, curry puffs, and good wine. always delicious and great service. I've been going here for over 20 years.
google avatar

Janice L.

Yelp
The service was below my expectations. Staff didn't ask if the food was finish yet and they just take it away. So rude! Also, the waitress never go through with clients the foods that we are ordering to make sure they have a correct order and just charge it additionally at the end. There's one more thing that so bad , which I was surprised to find no prices on the Erawan's version appetizers menu. Such a scam , feel like they charge different kind of people on different prices. Waitress looks so sleepyhead and not hygienic. Will never go again, it's the worst Thai Restaurant in our neighborhood! Even all our neighbors said they had a bad experience when dine in there! The owners never show Up to apologize when the employees doing a wrong thing! Such a shame and rudest attitude!
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
The decor and ambiance is really nice, I love the cocktails, they use fresh juice I had a watermelon martini and I tried the mussaman curry and drunken noodles and it was delicious

Kevin W.

Yelp
This place is the best Thai place around the Bayside area in my opinion. Read some prior reviews and I think people are unreasonable sometimes. Theres no denying the food quality is good here and prices are in like with other Thai places everywhere, except the bad ones. Anyone see the costs of food recently? Tried the kae meo, fresh lobster and steak, all very good quality and priced very reasonably- you won't find a steak of this quality at this price at almost any other restaurant, I eat out alot. This is a go to spot, good people, good food. Love it

Anthony V.

Yelp
The ambiance is amazing, relaxing setting . Food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Service is always on point. Always consistent in all aspects. A wonderful experience. You will not be disappointed. The Erawan steak is to die for. Many choices with seafood, meats , vegetables. Give it a try.

Yelp

Yelp
I've been to Erawan a few times but never realized they had a lunch special. Stopped in when I passed by and noticed a sign for lunch special. I tried the Pad See Eiw and loved it. Great deal for a lunch special too. I will be back

Maythawee Meesuk M.

Yelp
Second time here. I really love the food. It was great especially Thai fried rice and Erawan steak. The service was good. they friendly recommended the food and kindly answered my question about the food. The food is served very fast and fresh

Yelp
I didn't eat in this time, but when I went the service and hospitality was so amazing. Also, the food here is pretty good. I ordered the pad see ew, Thai spring rolls and the green curry. It's definitely a place I'll go back to.

Mke M.

Yelp
Erawan is cozy place to dine in the heart of Bayside. Comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff. It's worth the visit. My beef satay, shrimp and pork dumplings with papaya salad was delicious.

Yelp
A very delicious restaurant, highly recommended, especially the Thai milk tea, which has just the right sweetness and is worth coming back for.
google avatar

Ava G.

Yelp
I have been coming to Erawan once a week for three past 3-4 years. It's one of very few places I will order fish. The bronzino and snapper; which are on the menu are always good but they also get different fresh fish every week or so. I have tried monkfish, halibut, swordfish, tuna and blackfish here and they were all incredible. The sauces they use are amazing and go great with fish (peppercorn, Thai basil, garlic). Quality of food at Erawan has been consistent and is always delicious. I love the Thai rice pudding for dessert.

Jermelee L.

Yelp
Place is amazing and never disappoints. Their food is delicious and amazing and their drinks are even ten times more better. Place has great food drinks and vibes. Great palce to come enjoy a nice meal and drink and just be mellow.

Yelp
This is our newest and favorite Thai restaurant to visit, and we loved its relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and the wonderfully courteous and friendly staff that made us feel at home immediately. The food was perfectly prepared, delicious, and is authentically Thai, and the decor reflects that cultural pride throughout the restaurant. We highly recommend this place for its warm ambience, thoughtful service, and delightful cuisine and are sure to be back soon.

Peter T.

Yelp
I love Erawan! Delicious food! Wonderful atmosphere, outstanding service!! The best restaurant in Bayside!!
