We ordered the Quzi - Sham, Maqloobah, and Eggplant Salad. The food was excellent, especially the Maqloobah!!! Sammy (the Owner?) was so kind and caring. He explained all of the menu items to us, and constantly made sure we were well taken care of. He was great to talk with as well. Highly recommend this place! This was our first time having Iraqi food, and it did not disappoint!

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The Iraqi kebab was tender, juicy, and grilled to perfection — you could taste the smoky flavor in every bite. The kuba was just as impressive, beautifully crisp on the outside and packed with rich, savory filling on the inside. Both dishes tasted authentic and freshly made, with spices that brought out real depth and warmth. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. If you’re looking to try genuine Iraqi food, this place is a must-visit!!

My family and I went to Erbil Kabob tonight and enjoyed it a lot. The inside is large with plenty of space for large parties. We had the Combo #1 platter and the Mezza Platter. The service was quick and friendly, and we received our food shortly after ordering it. The naan was HUGE and went very well with our combo tray and mezza platter. We enjoyed the Baba Ghannouj, Kibbeh and tabouli salad was very refreshing. The platter was massive and easily fed all 5 of us, with a lot of leftovers. Would highly recommend if looking for delicious Iraqi kabob. I’d highly recommend ordering a large combo for a group and splitting it with friends, along with some extra naan!

Come here and enjoy the food! You will be happy you came here! I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the bad reviews. I had a wonderful experience. Was given the menu right away. After ordering got large warm fresh bread with fresh salad and creamy hummus. We ordered family combo 1. It came with so much meat on a large bed of rice and grilled vegetables and multiple pieces of bread and 2 bowls of bean soup. Enter a came out fast and the waitress gave us more fresh bread with the meal as well. I wasn’t expecting that. Meat was tender and full of flavor. Rice was perfect and not too oily. There was so much food we had to take most of it home. Service was fast and the place was very clean. They had nice music playing. Highly recommend.

Had a great meal at Erbil Kabob in Fairfax! The kabobs, maqluba with lamb, and fresh appetizers were all delicious. The Masgoof (grilled fish) was a highlight — just be sure to pre-order it in advance. Warm, fresh bread and tasty paklava made the experience even better. Highly recommend for authentic Iraqi/Middle Eastern food!

Google
I was really excited about this place as my wife is from Al Basrah Iraq and we try and eat anyplace where there is Iraqi food. I purchased the mixed kabob (iraqi kabob - mix of beef and lamb) ($22.99) and chicken chunks. The chicken was not great, but at least it was moist - it lacked seasoning and didn't taste like it was cooked over coal. The kabob had too much salt and had two bone shards in three bites. The salad was very poor and looks to be barely an afterthought, the humus tasted manly of tahini and was thin. The bread is great and this places saving grace. I also had the Kibbeh Halab (11.99 for 3). It cracked when fried so was likely frozen, and because it cracked and was filled with oil. The flavor of the filling was also too sweet; tasted kinda like apple pie. Good Kibbeh is savory, and this wasn't good. (Making it uniform so it doesnt crack with the rice is really hard, but that's why it's so expensive) They also didn't give me any garlic sauce with any of the food - which is just un-Iraqi. The young lady who helped me was wonderful, without her in this mix it would have been one star total.

Google
Our family loved this restaurant! We ordered the family platter for 4, which came with heaping amounts of every item on their grill & kebab menu, which are seasoned and cooked to perfection. The platter also came with a large salad, beans, hummus (my son’s favorite) and huge rounds of tandoori bread. Definitely more food than we could eat in one sitting, but I love having the leftovers. Everything is freshly made, I can’t say enough good things about our experience.

Yelp
First timer here with my foodie crew! We often order main dishes to share together. We ordered #4 mix kabob, #12 quzi sham, #13 (I forgot what this was called but it had eggplants!) and #14 mezza platter. Everything was delicious and tasty! My fav was #12. The restaurant has plenty of seating. It was quiet when we went and a couple people had takeout orders. The place was clean! Lots of parking outside.

Yelp
10/10 service Muhammed was so warm and friendly! The interior is cozy and they were so generous with the serving size and extras! Hummus, naan, vegetables and a delicious bean soup were all complimentary with the family size platter we ordered. We had 4 people and barely finished even half of the meal it was fantastic value! We found our new favorite local kabob place and look forward to returning frequently thanks for the amazing service Muhammad! My one comment is I wish there was a fan or door closing the hooka next door closed, it didn't bother me too much but I could see how maybe some customers might be bothered by breathing in the hooka smoke while eating.

Yelp
Their website said that they are open until 2 AM daily. Even the food ordering app, Chow Now was saying the same and was allowing me to place the order online. My order was completed at 10:55 PM for pickup, but when I went there, they were not open. I called the restaurant the next day to inform them of this. The lady who picked up my phone said that she saw my order at their end and would speak to the manager to cancel my order for a refund and would call me back. No one called. A couple of days later, I called the restaurant again. Another lady picked up my call and said the same. They said they would call me back, and they never did. I never got my refund. No one ever called me back and it has been almost a month. I don't know how good the food is (since I never got my order) or what the restaurant ambiance is like, but I can say that the customer service is horrible, with false information provided online. I should never have been allowed to place my order online for pickup if the restaurant wasn't open. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!

Yelp
I stopped by this shopping plaza on a Saturday afternoon and saw this restaurant and decided to check it out for the to go menu. The gentleman at the counter was very polite, helpful, and explained a few items to me. I decided to get the beef lamb Kabob with grilled vegetables to go. Along with hummus and dip. It came with a large, fresh, flat bread, so I was happy about that. Everything was delicious and fresh. The kabob had a real nice flavor. As I waited, I watched others come in for dine in and others ordered food to go. They serve soft drinks by the can. I think I saw a yogurt beverage and bottled water. Tea and coffee available. No alcohol. Since it's casual atmosphere, I would normally give 4 stars. However the guy at the counter was welcoming, so that bumped my experience up to 5 stars. And the portion sizes were good. There were some other appetizing items on the menu so I will be back to try!

Yelp
Erbil Iraqi Restaurant is a delightful escape into the flavors of Iraq. What sets Erbil apart is not just the delicious food but the passion behind it. The Owner, Chef, & staff takes pride in sharing the rich culinary traditions of Iraq, making the dining experience not just a meal but a cultural journey. My dining experience was nothing short of spectacular, and I'm eager for a return visit to explore more of their delectable offerings. Yelp
Service- they really don't know how to serve customers. Food- very mediocre and only thing worth getting is the Iraqi keba which is overpriced yet delicious. Also the fresh baked bread is delicious.

Yelp
We called ahead and asked to have masgouf special ordered, which they did and see the photos it was amazing. Nice place with walls and tables decorated very nice. Two Iraqis in our group, the owner came out and asked how is everything. The fish was cooked to perfection, not over or under and the flavors on it we all loved. The spicy amba and veggie salad were 100% fresh and the hummus and bread were very good also. What a nice place we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Horrible been coming there for more than 10 years. New hookah owner is horrible. Hookah side is full of roaches. While sitting there smoking hookah roaches crawling in the wall and by your feet. They basically smoking hookah with you. Resturant side is great and we love Samy! ... Bobby

Yelp
This is my comfort food spot! They are really consistent and the meat is always flavored really well. They always give generous amount of naan.

Yelp
The food here is really good. Service is good. Nice ambience. Just beware of the 10% sales tax. Seems like the owner made it up and hoped nobody would notice. Might be legit but seemed high. I googled and could not find how they came up with this number.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Kabob, great service! My son had the kabab sandwich and I had the falafel. Both were excellent!

Yelp
The kabobs are juicy, the bread is soft. The vegetables are crisp. Good value for the cost as well.

Lilykidus ..

Yelp
The food was amazing, we had the kabab plater and the chicken shawarma wrap which was my personal favorite. I love love love the deserts, we had one of each of their deserts along with the tea and everything was top notch level. But above all their customer service was one of a kind- and the price is sooo fair for all the great food and service they provide, thank you.

Yelp

Yelp
Went for iftar twice now the first time they charged me an extra person (30$) they offered a free meal or refund if I call back. It took a few days but I received a refund. The food was good so we went back, I couldn't get a sitter and took my kids. They are very picky and do not eat middle eastern food. I had to get them fast food. When we called we let them know it would be 3 adults they decided to charge us for one of the kids (16$) anyway knowing they did not eat from the buffet. The table we sat at was meant for 3 people they grabbed chairs from an extra area claiming they are charging for the space. They said they turned down people which was a lie because would they have sat at our table ? The rest of the restaurant was full. They were looking for any reason to charge the kids. They thought they did a favor by only charging for one kid when neither of them ate. I never had this happen before. The owner was also rushing the customers yelling please hurry when in line. He was arguing with us in front of the other customers and then left in anger. We will not be returning.

Yelp
The food it was delicious, it is a real Mediterranean style restaurant, workers, very welcoming , nice and very kind, very clean and organize, price it was good. I never have had a good shish kebab like way they did it ERBIL Iraqy restaurant. Thank you so very much for the delicious meal .

Josh G.

Yelp
Great food with friendly service! I had maqloobah that was terrific. The fresh bread and stew were tasty and filling. I will be back.

Eileen T.

Yelp
Food was burnt, almost all of the tables were dirty before coming in. And when my meal did come some of my food was missing. I hate leaving bad reviews but the food and the ambience wasn't good enough for me.

Yelp
Great food, big portions and so tasty, the service was amazing, very nice owner and staff, we will be back!!!

Yelp
The kabobs are unique, much more juicy than many other kabobs, with less spices. I heard the kabobs are a lamb beef mix maybe that is why they are more juicy and have a greasy texture to them. The hummus and store made bread is also good. The shawarma wasnt very good, I'm not sure if they use the rotating cone of meat like other shawarma places. There wasnt one that could be seen at least. The cheese pizza also wasn't very good, the bread was way too doughy, and the cheese was very greasy, it seems that they add extra oil on the cheese which is unnecessary.

Yelp
Best food and service in Virginia, first time customer and very impressed, the food is authentic Iraqi

Huong N.

Yelp
We truly don't understand all the positive reviews here. Our fair review is as follows: - Food: average - Price: not too bad, however they charged $6 for some extra rice and 3% for credit card payment (and none of that was mentioned beforehand!) - Service: above average - Cleanliness: bad (unclean from floor to ceiling, and we even saw one cockroach running along the wall!)

Yelp
the decor is amazing, complimentary bread always refreshed (which is delicious) we got lamb tikka iraqi style, baba ganouj, chicken shawarma pizza and the ayran mint drink. server was also helpful. came here for lunch to celebrate my master grad!

Yelp
The place is so clean and decoration amazing , it is Iraquien sofa, the service was so fast and the person was nice and kind . The food was so so yummy and delicious and more than what we excepted it is exactly like home made food. We bought also fresh baked bread my family loves it. The only thing which was not good is the place was so cold and I believe the heat is not working .

Yelp
This is the definition of a small mom n pop restaurant so give it the grace and patience you would to any family run establishment. Went in for the lunch buffet on a sunday, the food is fresh and tastes like it's been cooked with care and attention as you would at home. With a few different grilled meat (chicken and beef kabobs) and a couple stews (Chicken and amb shank) served with 2 different kinds of rice and 2 dips (hummus and baba ganoush). I do wish there was atleast 1 vegetarian and 1 seafood entree option on the menu but this is a small restaurant and they're still getting their name out there to bring in customers so I wouldnt hold that against them this early on. The decor is cozy with some traditional bench seating on one side of the restaurant and table seating on the other. I would probably go back again to try out the dinner ala cart menu. very kid friendly if you need a quick and easy meal for the family.

Dalia A.

Yelp
Very good food Service was very good the mixed grill was excellent and the chai was very nice

Talaat B.

Yelp
Great thanks so much for the great hospitality. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking to eat a delicious kebab.

Yelp
great kabab , iraqi way . amazing great taste of iraqi food you should visit your self and see . kabab was so great

Lily R.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. We had combo #2 and everything was delicious. The kabab was so flavorful and it had a perfect texture. The shish tawouk was also amazing. It had a perfect texture, a balance between juiciness and tenderness. The waitresses were very kind and brought our food pretty quickly. The place is also nice and it has the most comfortable chairs ever. In conclusion, it was a great experience. I would definitely come here again and recommend everyone to visit.

Christina G.

Yelp
Erbil is my new favorite place in Fairfax! The food is delicious and everyone who works there is so nice--it's a relaxed family atmosphere. The kabobs, flatbreads, baba ganoush, and hummus are all delicious and so flavorful. Everyone in my family loves this place!

Yelp
The food was delicious! The service was excellent. The environment was so comfortable felt like I was eating at home! Keep up the good job. I will comeback again soon!

Yelp
Had kabob and Chicken shih. By far, and I don't need to think, this was the worst experience and taste of mediterranean grill I've ever had in my entire life. Kabob tasted nothing but burned fat and chicken was dry that I felt I am chewing sponge. I don't want to start describing how poor the taste of appetizers was. I guess owner is trying to manage cost by serving poor quality chicken and loading the kabob with fats. Obviously, this is cheating. If you care about what you eat and your health, don't go there. What a shame. This tasted nothing like what Iraqi food should taste

3absi 3.

Yelp
Great Iraqi food. Excellent service. Extra breakfast items are delicious. I go there all the time now.

Farrah F.

Yelp
Delicious Ramadan Iftar, restaurant is small so have patience, but food is worth it. Everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful.

Emad M.

Yelp
I took the family to order lunch at this restaurant. We ordered kebab take out for lunch and also to store in the freezer for other meals, as well as shawarma and a bag of bread of 10 pieces. After a long wait, the lady in charge was unable to receive the orders because they only had one cook in the restaurant's kitchen today. After waiting for our meals to be received, we returned home to eat kebab and shawarma sandwiches. The shock was that the kebab could not be eaten at all. The same situation was with the french fries and shawarma, and of all the amount we paid, nothing could be eaten except bread!! Indeed, it was a vey bad experience and a lack of respect for our long wait and traveling a long distance to come to the restaurant and the cost of the meals! It was truly a bad experience and will never be repeated. We do not recommend anyone going to this restaurant unless they make sure their meals are not stale and stored.
