Ermitage de Corton

This was my second stay at Ermitage de Corton and won't be the last. The location is perfect to visit Beaune and many Domaines because of it's convenient location. The restaurant is outstanding and reasonably priced. The owner is lovely and always helpful. My room had AC- which is important to me. It's a beautiful setting within vineyards, a nice pool if you want to swim and I love the back sitting areas overlooking the vineyards for a glass of wine.

BEWARE! Booked and paid through hotels.com, when we come to check out the receptionist says “the amount was blocked on the card, but not charged”. We stupidly believed her and paid. Turns out we paid twice. Contacted the hotel and rather than refund the amount that they “mistakenly” took, they get hotels.com to refund us. Hotels.com refund us the amount we paid minus £100 for some unfathomable reason. Apart from that, the room was spacious, the WiFi shockingly bad in our room, the staff (apart from the one that stung us) were lovely and the food in the restaurant was amazing. What should have been a lovely stay ended with a nasty taste in my mouth.

I've stayed here many times - indeed it has always been one of my favourite hotels, particularly as my partner worked here in the 70s. The receptionist who "welcomed" us on the evening of Dec 2nd was rude, cheesed me off & shouldn't be working in customer service. She should be kept away from customers, perhaps a job in the kitchen ? Fortunately by the Sunday morning she'd effed off, and the rest of the staff were delightful. Ps Thank you for your reply Clémence, You (or rather your receptionist) makes it sound like I was demanding. I was not. Her rudeness stemmed from my trying to speak French, and her not being patient with me. Nothing to do with blankets, or restaurant bookings, or heating.

Very convenient off motorway for restful stopover. Fabulous food and excellent wine list in restaurant. And very good breakfast especially the scrambled eggs. Charming staff at reception and in restaurant. Nice pool in garden with little farm animals and children's activities.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful, incredibly friendly and made myself, my husband, baby and dog feel very welcome and well looked after.|The garden was a wonderful place for our dog to let off some steam (although note it’s not closed off so some good recall might be needed!) and the pool was a lovely area.|Given some of the other reviews I was expecting the more to be a lot more dated but our junior suite was very spacious and comfortable and worked well for us.|The food in the restaurant is wonderful but is very expensive and service is slow - we got the impression that the more you spent (e.g. most expensive set menu, wine pairing etc.) the more attention you were given by the waiting staff. |A two night stay here with breakfast and our dog cost us €700 which seems very expensive - whilst it was a nice place with lovely staff the value for money doesn’t quite add up.

This is a review for the restaurant only. We stopped for lunch and were greeted with a friendly staff and a beautiful garden view. The dishes were quite tasty, with tender meat dishes, fresh eggs, and savory broth. The dishes were nicely plated but the servers made several mistakes with who got which dish and which cutlery is at which place setting. Unfortunately, there were a lot of large flies that appeared as soon as the food service started. Overall recommended despite these minor issues.

This hotel is very well located right in the heart of Burgundy, and ideally placed for exploration of the area. It is conveniently close to the motorway enabling easy access. We have stayed here before and the dinner, as always, is fantastic. The rooms do need Some upgrading and modernisation, but that is made up for by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff
