We visited Esoteric to grab a quick snack over the Memorial Day weekend and it was totally worth the visit !!! The atmosphere of the place is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. We ordered a Black bean burger, Spicy Chicken Sammie, lemonade and a Beer. Both the burgers were really good but the Black bean one was the best. Yummy food, great Atmosphere and Amazing Staff. Highly recommended!!!

We visited Esoteric during our stay in VB over Memorial Weekend, and our experience was so fantastic that we went there twice during our three-day vacation. The food is exceptionally well-prepared, showcasing the skill of the chefs and the quality of the ingredients they use. Many of the vegetables come from their own garden, where they grow herbs, fruits, and vegetables for their own use. We tried a special hummus appetizer with handmade crackers, which was simply fantastic! Also, the Caesar salad with fresh vegetables and the lasagna were spectacular. We tried a mocktail with berries, and a draft lager. For dessert, we had an Orange Cheesecake, the best I've had in a long time! Our second visit, we tried the hamburger. It was delicious, with very good and well-cooked meat. I would love to come back!

Esoteric is becoming one of our local favorites for fantastic food here in VB! Today was a Friday lunch in mid-June... pictured is the always amazing Hot Halibut Sammie (think Nashville Hot version of a fish sandwich), and a special Mediterranean salad with grilled romaine. Both were amazing, a ton of love goes into this food. Solid options for beer, wine and drinks too. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. Nice shaded outdoor eating spot. We need to get here more often.

Ordered the Vegan Hangover Bowl. It was ok, but not great. It had nice flavor, but not a dish I'd order again. The DJ was awesome; honestly, that was the best part of the brunch. I did take issue with the slowness of our food coming out. Coupled with service that was just meh. We were a party of 7 so the 20% tip was automatically added. I wouldn't typically take issue with that, as many establishments follow this practice. I do feel like the waitress slacked because she knew she was guaranteed a generous tip.

Food was delicious and the restaurant was very cozy. The Duck Tacos had a really unique flavor. They were sort of like an Asian Birria type dish. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and the mushrooms complimented the sauce marvelously. They also have incredible fries which is always a nice surprise. The drink menu was extensive and had many brilliant combinations along with a substantial beer selection. Definitely worth visiting.

As the name suggests special people who love great food can appreciate this VA Beach gem! We ordered the buffalo mushrooms for our appetizer. These are perfectly fried, then sauced beating out ANY buffalo cauliflower I’ve ever had! My daughter had the burger, husband got the ribeye and I had the duck tacos. Everything was delicious! The duck tacos are definitely great as an entree over an appetizer since it comes filled with meat and flavorful slaw. I highly recommend this spot for date night or dinner with friends. I don’t recommend this place for kids. It’s not an establishment offering fries and tenders for those picky eaters.

The taste of the food was REALLY good but one of the dishes I ordered came with queso that had hardened into a blob and they actually served it to me. I sent it back for better cheese then it was perfect. The drinks were just OK, I wouldn't go back for the drinks. I removed two stars for those two food/drink things. Our server was Gabby and she was CHEF'S KISS perfect to us!! Super polite, friendly, relatable, she stayed on top of our group's table in the Most balanced way I've seen in a Long time!! She really was like a mind reader. Helpful about the menu and explaining how the mimosas work on Sundays. 10/10. She also gave a heads up about the added 18% gratuity and I tipped her extra on top of that. She really was THAT good. The atmosphere is why we came. The last Sunday of the month DJ Canrock shows up and shows out, and this was no different. The weather was close to 100° so it took us awhile to cool down and get into the vibes but once he cranked it up, everyone at our table was LIT!!! His set was DOOOOPE!!! Old school, new school, no stupid mumble rap, no trap music, just good music and all the fire transitions. I'm in 💕!! The tables in the space are pushed kinda close together so the feeling gives "kinda cramped". Once folks started drinking they started getting hot because we were sitting super close together lol. So I wouldn't bring a large group here ever again BUT I'm definitely coming back with me and, maybe, 2-3 other people to rock out. I took away the one star for the cramped space. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5. definitely going back on a non Sunday day, then going back on Sunday tooooooo!!!! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

I must say this establishment has it all. The aesthetics of the space are warm and inviting. The food was amazing and the staff very courteous. Big plus for me as a bourbon guy were the amazing house old fashioned...
