Essex Burger

I made the mistake of ordering the fish and chips here before a trip, and it turned out to be a big disappointment. The fish was dry, bland, and wrapped in a greasy, heavy batter. After forcing myself to eat one piece, I ended up tossing the rest—it simply wasn’t worth it. The chicken wings were okay but far from great—dry and lacking juiciness, though they had a decent flavor. The hot dog was probably the best of the bunch, with soft bread, onions, and mustard, but still nothing that would make me want to come back just for it. On a scale of 1 to 10, the overall experience was around a 5 at best. With airport food prices being what they are, I’d hoped for much better quality. If you’re in a rush and need something to fill you up, the hot dog or wings might do the job, but I’d definitely skip the fish and chips.

This was right near my gate, I saw they had a burger figured it wouldn't be bad. It was by far the best burger I have had in a VERY long time if ever! The cheese was perfectly melted! I had to go back and tell the chef how great it was before I took off! Make sure you stop here!

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Delicious burgers and wings… the drinks… chef’s kiss. Airport food is most time meh but there are a few gems out there and the Essex Burger LGA is one of them. We had a BBQ burger and Essex wings. The burger was prepared to the requested temperature and the wings had a sweet and crunchy glaze to them. Absolutely delicious. We also had cocktails. My hubby had a vodka soda with a splash of cranberry and I had a margarita with 1800 blanco tequila. The bartender l, Mayra T, makes what I have to say is the best margarita I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever and I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants and enjoyed many margaritas. Shout out to Mayra for her amazing customer service, which truly makes the difference in any restaurant experience. If you have the opportunity to fly out of terminal C gate 70+ sit down and enjoy some burgers, wings or Ramen/sushi with Mayra and the gang. You won’t be disappointed.

Really good for airport dining! With the renovations to LaGuardia Airport, these eateries are at their best. Chuko Ramen and Essex Burger now share expanded seating. This was great as we could order from either and still eat together. The menu is scannable on the table. You order online and then a waiter quickly delivers your food. We ordered soy ramen with roasted pork and soy marinated egg and a spicy tuna roll for $39.27 including tip and an essex burger (double patty with fries) for $24.08 including tip. Under normal circumstances, this is totally overpriced but it is solid airport food with no wait. Would eat here again.

Spent $86 on three burgers at this place. They bring us our food in to go containers. I didn’t realized I placed an order to go. It was my honest mistake. But we are sitting down at a table. And they tell us we have to leave because we placed a to go order.. They wouldn’t let us eat at the table with the food that we purchased at that restaurant and they made us pack up and leave. There were plenty of open tables.

The burgers and chicken sandwiches were both excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. I’ll like that it’s sit down service but they handle the bill up front so there is no worry of having to get the bill at the end in time to board your flight.

The food is not great. Save your money and go to Wendy's, their food will be better for the 1/4 of the cost. Burger was tasteless and chicken was extraordinarily overcooked. I'd expect better being inside an airport terminal and for the price. Do better!

Had an amazing experience at Essex Burger. The food and service were both phenomenal, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal and relaxing experience at LaGuardia Terminal C

Food was delish! I came w/ my sister & her 2 daughters. We all share to taste different food. I ordered the BBQ burger (double meat patty,bbq sauce, sharp cheddar,crispy onions,pickles) minus the crispy onions. My younger niece ordered Essex wings(organic wings,Aleppo pepper,Tabasco,hot honey)sauce on the side.My sister also ordered Essex wings w/ the sauce. 2 of her wings hardly had meat. She didn't want me to say anything to the waitress but I wanted to so bad.My older niece ordered "My Way" hot dogs(all beef hot dogs w/ whatever toppings you want). Both burger & hot dogs came w/ French fries.You have to order & pay w/ a QR code. Wings were crispy & flavorful. Burger was juicy & tasty. Buns were soft & tasted fresh. Hot dogs were large & mouthwatering. Fries were good but was a really small portion. Service was terrible & it was a hassle just to get a refill on our drinks. Waitress gave me warm water which was unacceptable. I asked for a cup of ice & she looked @ me like I had a 3rd eye. I looked @ receipt & realized a 18% tip was automatically inputted. That's why the waitress didn't care. She didn't have to work for her tip. I always tip generously but she didn't deserve it. Place was busy! It's in Laguardia airport. It was an open area. Ambiance was kind of chaotic. I would have gave a 4 star b/c of the food but the service made me take away a star.

Today w here to eat out of convenience because we were right next to it at gate 76 and because my daughter saw and smelled wings and she was in the mood. We shared wings, a cheese burger, hot dog and fries. We shared because she also wanted fries and it didn't come with wings. There's no actual server to take our order, so whatever is on the QR menu is what you get and there was no option to add on fries by itself. The wings were a little sweet with a little kick and it came with a few spicy pickle slices that I enjoyed. The cheeseburger was only one option.. double patty, there was no option to purchase a single patty. It too was a little sweet but not overbearing, everything was delicious. Even my blood orange margarita. The only problem was the service. The lady who brought out food had bad body language. She looked miserable to help us, she wanted to run back to gossip with the bartender instead. She served us warm water with no ice and didn't look happy when we asked for more ketchup. It sucks we tipped good prior to receiving the service, because we tipped generously and it was not deserved. If I'm ever by this gate again, I'll take my stuff to go instead or just try out another spot that might have better service.

Essex burger doesn't disappoint. Hungry? Do the combo, comes with tater tots. If you have time, eat at the diner. Very cute diner in Terminal C at LGA. Service was excellent. Very affordable. I typically spend $40 at other restaurants for a meal while traveling. This was less than $20. I was pleasantly surprised. 5 stars for price and quality.

Came here to order a burger and fries at the register. Then found a seat. Was sitting for a few minutes when a waitress came up and told us we must buy something. Told her we bought food. She said if you buy at register that's TO GO only. WTH? I spend money here, I'm going to sit down. Smh. The lady was adamant that we buy something. She was pushy and rude. I've never heard of a place where you can't sit at tables without buying at the table. Super odd and inconvenient. My chicken sandwich was good. Buns were a bit dry but all else was good. Fries were good. My food was waiting up front but no one called my name. So my food was sitting for a minute before I got my food.

Carlos you make the best drinks. Thank you. You are awesome. The burgers are amazing. The hostess and servers are super nice ! It's a nice place to be great ambiance to hang when waiting for flight.

Very good fish and chips at Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport in New York. It's good to get some Decent (but expensive) food while traveling

I can not explain to you how hot all this food was. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes and it still was insanely hot, it may have defied science. Otherwise the chicken and fries were just really lacking any sort of flavor at all. The bun was very stale. I will find myself getting something different next time I am hungry at the airport.

Yeah, it's airport food. But this one tops my list of while-you-wait eateries. I ate a couple before I snapped the pic, but these crispy, honey wings were yummy with a squeeze of freshly cut lemon over top and dipped in ranch dressing. Compliments to the chef!

Got to the airport way early, so enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Great 70's Motown music playing and Copa Europa on the TV. I had the Eggs Your Way breakfast and half an avocado. The breakfast was too much food, but quite tasty. The avocado was perfect! If you get a chance to chat with server Thurman, he's a blast!

The my way hotdogs were very good and well priced. And the photo of the fries on the menu is deceptive. You get a lot more.

I ordered a burger and the wings, didn't have a window pop up for selecting doneness and flavor. Asked a waiter immediately to cancel the wings (didn't have the flavor I wanted) and inform the kitchen I wanted a medium burger. Burger came out grey all the way through, told me they would cancel the wings and process the refund for the wings "when the manager is back". I am yet to receive said refund. So unless the manager has been on a month long vacation they just decided to charge me for the wings without ever serving them.

The place was clean and the food was great. Cynthia a server was a great help. I would recommend stopping by this spot before your flight

Takeout --food is good and fresh but not necessarily quick. It's expensive but hey, it's restaurant take out at a NY airport. There is no where to stand to wait for your food. With that being the case and iPad ordering, they should send a text when your order is ready so you don't stand there and block other people.

The food was good, the lady at the counter at La Guardia was so mean and shaming, I would never go back. For those of you that may know who was there... she was a woman of color on May 16 at around 3:00. I had never been here before, I didn't know it worked. I was trying to order on the screen when she came in and just took over. I didn't understand I couldn't sit in there dining area because I had a to go box. (I had no idea). I turned around and dropped my ketchup and she comes up and yells at me and said I could no longer use the ketchup. (it was in a package) She storms off with it. Approaching the counter for another ketchup, she yells at me to please not drop ANOTHER ketchup. I know this is New York, I just thought there was a thread of customer service still left here. Essex, if this is your idea of customer service, try again. The other woman was wearing a hijab and was lovely and I wished she would have waited on me.

Food was okay! We ordered at the check out counter no one said that was take out and we couldn't sit down. We sat and a little man came over and said we had to leave. I tried to explain we order from there reatraunt and our grandpa has parkinson he literally said "that to bad shouldve ordered at the table" and he would talk to his manager, he later came back and reoved our glasses. Honestly mistakes happen but this dude was so rude.

Worst service ever. First, the entire crew is in the kitchen so we had to order at a kiosk. No one announced the order was ready. We had to ask. The person we asked lied and said, "That's not my restaurant." TF it's not. I absolutely IS the same restaurant with the same name on the receipt. We got our food and had to rush because we sat waiting for the food. After we packed up our trash- the staff began picking a fight. Pointing and arguing that we needed to clean up their restaurant. It IS the same place- not another place. We paid a TIP for this horrendous aggressive, rude attitude. So, we clean up our things and they won't allow us to use the trash - telling us to take their trash to the terminal. CLEAN YOUR RESTAURANT YOURSELF. Keep your nasty attitude to yourself. The only reason for 2 stars is that they remembered not to put mayonnaise on the chicken sandwich. If you want staff to stare at you and pick a fight and make you clean their restaurant- enjoy. If you want a normal meal experience to eat and be able to be treated like a human- don't waste your time. I HATE THIS PLACE AND THESE PEOPLE.

Typical airport restaurant so my expectations were not high. They nailed it in not one but multiple ways! Poor online only ordering system with zero flexibility. Ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and it came out cold but at least the fries were hot. Ordered the molten chocolate cake and it came out luke warm with the center still frozen solid. Told the bartender and she just said sorry. Guess since I already paid for it I had zero recourse. Very poor experience, even less than typical airport restaurants!
