Yelp
Describe Estate Coffee Company in one word: hipster.
Not a bad thing though. Because they sure know how to make some espresso.
Estate Coffee Company was another bookmark on my San Antonio coffee list that I needed to check off. I came here one afternoon after brunch and needed that caffeine fix. It's located in an older, quiet, industrial side of town on Houston Street. There are limited parking spots out front, but there is plenty on the west side of the building in an empty gravel lot.
Once inside you're greeted by a large glass front, white walls, green plants, and a cement floor. Personally, a very cozy and modern vibe. The menu is on the wall in aesthetically pleasing black letters resting on mini-green floating shelves. They also had some of their specialty drinks featured on a little menu by the register. The coffee bar/counter/register is all open so you can see all the coffee-action going on as they prepare your drink and everyone else's.
I ordered a hot honey lavender latte to dine-in and sat at one of their counter height tables - wood tables and metal stools/chairs... classic. When my drink was ready I got to smile at the latte art that was poured. After snapping the obligatory Yelp/Instagram photos I got to taste it. Personally, nothing like the tastes of honey and lavender, separate or together their notes blend beautifully. This latte in particular was the right temperature so that you could start drinking immediately, and the honey and lavender flavors weren't too sweet or overpowering.
Folks came and went, others dined in and chatted with their group or worked silently on their laptops. Despite being "downtown" Estate Coffee Company offered a quiet place to sit and sip.
