The 25 Best Maui Restaurants, According to a Local Expert | Eater

"Two friends launched this tiny tiki bar far off the tourist path in Wailuku. After a stroll around town to see the truly exceptional street murals, take a seat on the patio and sip on a tropical libation served in a ceramic mermaid cup. The Hollaback Sazarac pairs rye with okolehao (a plantation-era spirit made from tī root), absinthe, and durian bitters — and I dare you to find a more exotic twist on the classic cocktail. Hit up happy hour, when the barkeeps pour daiquiris straight up for $8. Tasty bar snacks include fresh guacamole, oysters, and a wicked grilled cheese with gochujang butter. Know before you go: Check out Thirsty Thursday’s two happy hours at 3 p.m. and 10 p.m." - Shannon Wianecki

The 22 Best Restaurants In Maui 2024

"For a tropical cocktail bar that doesn’t feel touristy, head to the commercial area of Wailuku and you’ll find Esters Fair Prospect, a cozy space decked out with rattan furniture and anglerfish wallpaper. There’s a short menu of oysters and ceviche, but you’re here for the tiki drinks. We’re talking about cocktails like the Mercury in Retrograde, with mezcal, Aperol, a pineapple-coconut shrub, lime, and absinthe. Naturally, you’ll also find a long list of rums." - martha cheng, team infatuation

Google
Best drink I had on the island by far! Most places just make sugar bombs for cocktails but this cute bar made well balanced and exciting cocktails. The vibe with all the art is also very fun. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Great service. Friendly staff. Me and my cousin shared 3 cocktails. All of them tasted great. When I am back in Maui, I'll be going back!

Google
Drinks were really good and had kick! They have beer too but the cool mixed drinks were phenomenal. Sandwich was good too. Seems a mix of locals and tourists. I've been there twice now. Mad hatter was my favorite so far!

Tiana McCormick

Google
Esters is know for the cocktails- which are great! However, I go mainly for their oysters. Their housemade season mignonettes never dissapoint!!

Tiffany Rose

Google
One of my favorite go-to bars in Central Maui for the best bartenders and perfect nibbles while catching up with friends. The atmosphere is so fun and unique, and the cocktails are outstanding.

Google
Had a great time at this place. You guys know how to make us feel welcome thank you! Drinks were very good

Google
Cocktails were nice but a little pricey. Atmosphere was great but the music inside a bit loud - so we preferred to sit outside.

Google
If you like interestingly crafted cocktails, this place is a must try. Snack food selection is very small (4-5 on the menu) and sold out quickly. We got there just before 6pm and the place is mostly full with a few tables available. After 6pm quickly filled up.

Yelp
Esters is a great tiki bar with local/ neighborhood bar vibes. I had the Mai Tai but it was a difficult choice, their personalization and twists on classic tiki drinks all sounded delicious. Inside is gorgeous and gives all the tiki vibes you need. We sat on the street-side patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather, some dog table neighbors, and a relaxed setting. Got some yummy Guac to balance with the beverages and would love to see more default vegan options for snacks. Ester's is a busy, lively place. Located in "downtown" Maui, prepare to meter park a few blocks away and walk. Highly recommend Ester's for solid drinks and a comfortable neighborhood bar feel in an exotic place! And if they bring back the "Last Call" drink - that's a fun one!

Yelp
We visited Esters Fair Prospect on our trip to Maui just over a year ago, and we loved it! It's a cute, vibrant cocktail bar, and it was packed when we went during happy hour. Everyone was talking to each other, and it was fun to meet locals. They offer farm to table small plates and tropical drinks. We had the guacamole as a snack. They had a special on their classic daiquiri, and it was delicious.

Yelp
The cutest, coziest, vibey tiki/cocktail bar in Maui minus the tourists. :) My husband and I were visiting from out of town and staying in Wailuku. We were so pleased to find EFP when scouring yelp for a local cocktail bar. Upon walking in you're surrounded by different seating, an eclectic atmosphere with great music and funky decor. We found this spot to be primarily filled with locals which made the vibes 10x better. The drinks were spot on. We ordered the Milk Punch, Velvet Elvis, Kali & Fernando and a beer. On the side we ordered the oysters and let me tell you... I'm still dreaming about the mignonette they were topped with. The staff and service was impeccable. Shout out to Kyle the head chef (ps: they have a small but tasty snack menu) - we even got to enjoy a few cocktails with him after his shift. This is your PSA to sit at the bar and mingle with the staff and locals. 10/10 recommend visiting Esters the next time you're in Maui! ** there is a small parking lot attached in case you're driving here!

Yelp
Thank you, Esters, for being open when we needed you. We wanted to have a drink with friends before the theater doors opened. You provided us with a friendly place out of the rain to chat and sip. I had the Maui Brewing Co. Coconut Porter and Bar Ba poured it like a pro. We shared the Guacamole & Chips appetizer. Not as spicy as I would like and a bit heavy on the lime, but it was fresh and tasty. Maybe this is their signature. Plenty of chips included. Definitely our go-to drinking hole in Wailuku.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood bar. Small enough to make it seem exclusive. Some folks say hipsters but it's just a crowd who enjoys a craft cocktail. Great staff and owner who love mixing and discussing spirits.

Yelp
Per usual, unique incredible drinks and lovely cute aesthetic laid back but fun quirky vibe. Honestly the perfect cocktail bar. Top 3 bars on Maui.... maybe in all of Hawaii?!??? The drinks are hand crafted by some of the best bartenders around. Everyone who works here knows what they are DOING. People are friendly and there always happens to be the perfect amount of people there? Hahaha indoor and outdoor options for seating. The apps are good- my fav is the grilled cheese one-I forget the name but it's CRACK. Anyways, if you're even considering come here you can assure yourself it's a great choice.

Yelp
Darling little tiki bar in old town...definitely a locals place, but staff were fabulously welcoming! We had a lovely chat with both gentleman working and enjoyed some cocktails! I had "A Drink Called Wanda" to start with...so tasty! They fresh squeeze all their juices so that called for a Paloma next! Delish as well! Husband stuck with the ever reliable Knob Creek on the rocks. It was a delightful stop! Heads up, it is located in a large building, there is no sign to see and there is a little parking lot to the south of the building where you may just be able to nab the last spot like we did! Otherwise, there is a parking garage behind the building. Enjoy! We sure did!

Yelp
What a great place this is! It is located in the Promenade building facing main street in Wailuku. We've been by here many times and seen their outside patio but haven't had the time to stop. Well Halloween night we had tickets to Iao theater so decided this was the night to check it out and boy were we glad we did. We were able to snag a table for 4 outside. Since we'd all already eaten we just got drinks. You seat yourself and the waitress was quick to bring us water and the drink/food menu. The waitress was quick to take our order and bring us our drinks. Then it was a short walk over to the theater afterwards By the time we left there was a short line of people looking for an outside table. The food looked really good so I know next time we'll try and eat there also.

Yelp
Great decor, great staff , excellent drinks! We were in Maui for vacation and stopped by at the recommendation of our son.

Yelp
Women owned this local bar and eatery, has some of the bestdrinks on the island. And don't just take my word for it, we sat with our bartender friend who couldn't agree more. Cool vibe, perfectly balanced drinks, great service and patio seating to take in the Aloha. What could be better!?

Rachel M.

Yelp
We love Esters! We make it a point to stop by for a drink whenever we're in Wailuku. They've got the most delicious cocktails, yummy bites and super friendly staff. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a drink here!

Yelp
These people are very rude to disabled people wouldn't recommend going there unless you like getting treated like crap they don't care that the bartenders are making fun of disabled people. Very sad.

Yelp
Esters is such a cute bar to spend an afternoon in! It had aesthetic beachy decor and tasty cocktail options. They had a happy hour daiquiri that was my favorite daiquiri I've had! My partner and I had like 3 each. Highly recommend if you're looking for a bar in the area to spend some time.

Yelp
Great music, cocktails, and food! The pulled pork sliders are really good, as was the ceviche. The staff was very friendly and they were playing some great hip-hop music while we were there. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Yelp
Only one visit, but from what I see when I pass by, it is doing very well. When I went, it was cocktails with a small selection of appetizers (pupu's). The drinks were fantastic, and the appetizers were some of the best I've had. I hope they can enlarge the space, and my suggestion would be to add an awning to the patio, as it can be very hot out there into the early evening, or it may rain. Maybe they've already done that, I hope.
google avatar

Coco B.

Yelp
Interesting mixology drinks, cute vibes inside and outside. Parking isn't ideal. Cocktail prices are definitely on the pricier side, but honestly the only real cocktail bar option in town.

Yelp
Can I just move to Maui and live at Esthers Fair Prospect for the rest of my life? And not just because they make unique, beautiful drinks, but because the decor is SO cute, vintage and eclectic! When traveling to Esthers, just look for a beautiful mural of a woman out front. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly, upbeat bartender. The holiday menu was so fun and diverse... something for everyone! We got the Mistle Tea and Yellow Snow. They did not disappoint! The drinks are more expensive but you are paying for quality and they currently donate 10% of their proceeds to the Lahaina wildfire fund. I'll drink to that!

Yelp
Second visit I would say it's a decent place it's got a hipster orientation which is both good and bad it's good because it's a fun place, Its bad because when you sit down to a bar-restaurant restaurant you want to be wowed a little bit. After asking the appetizer menu the server told you they had everything. the two items we ordered they didn't have. the oysters told they're a weekend item and the guacamole they just didn't get their avocado order. Since They have a pretty limited menu to begin with so the Server suggested the pork sliders, I don't actually eat pork regularly so that wasn't a thing for me. The drinks were good it's an outdoor place its nice to sit outdoors. The Server asked if I wanted to refill our drinks but without extra food who wants to buy a second round of drinks. The server left a little Disappointed it's not personal we just wanted to eat certain food and it wasn't available so we went to another place and finished our happy hour
google avatar

Carol K.

Yelp
Cool place to hang out and sip daquiri's. We loved the ambiance and having a place to go to in Wailuku that isn't a dive bar. The patio furniture out front is for those 60 pounds or less.

Yelp
Came here with a friend to enjoy a few drinks on a random night out. I definitely fell in love wit the craft cocktails here. There are very few places that I can get a whiskey sour with egg whites on maui and I love that they have it here. The staff is all really nice. From the owners, to the bartenders and even the cooks. I only tried the cocktails here but I have heard that the ceviche is amazing so I will be back to try that. What I loved most is the music. The music is a really good music of classic hip hop and new school. One of the bartenders even offered to change the playlist to chicago music when she found out we were from there. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I've tried giving this place a chance a handful of times every single time the workers (specifically the women) there seem to be in the worst mood. It appears like all the non local looking people are having the best time and consistently getting checked up on and served, while the locals get a menu dropped and never check on again. I've even tried to wave someone down to order my first drink after waiting 15 minutes and they straight up ignore you. I will never be back and support this bar, the staff consistently shows their true colors.. NO ALOHA. Edit: Something I'm noticing as I'm scrolling through these reviews that every person that gave this place a great review is a certain skin color.. very interesting

Yelp
I want to like Esther's so badly as there are not many bar options on Maui, however, every single time we have come in for a drink, our night has been ruined by such unfriendly service. As fellow local business owners, my partner and I make an effort to support local, small businesses. Perhaps it's our youthful looks, or our born & raised air that gets us side eyed, ignored, and scoffed at? We are usually great tippers, and it takes a lot for us to leave a bad one, but we just had to. Esther's should hire more staff if they cannot treat every customer equally. The staff is stone cold & unfriendly, but not to everyone. We were not given any water or napkins while everyone else had them. We received an eye roll when asking if an off-menu drink was possible. We were ignored at the bar, and no one came back to check on us. We usually get multiple rounds, but that isn't possible when staff pretends you are not there...meanwhile, we noticed an over served customer who hit his head very hard on a street sign and stumbled into the road right after leaving. We also ran into a happy customer of ours who was about to get into her car completely sh*t faced. The atmosphere at Esther's is great, and the drinks aren't a problem, but all of this potential gets trampled over by bad, inconsistent service. It is very disappointing to learn that the owner has so much restaurant experience and was the most rude of all! I am lost for what exactly causes this trend for us as the bar generally gets good reviews, and we are quiet, polite customers. It could be the way we dress, our age, or the assumption that we are just some silly kids although we are paying the same $15 per drink, like everyone else! I am not sure... but if you are a local, keep in mind that all of the low reviews share one thing in common: "RUDE STAFF."

Yelp
Nuanced cocktails with house made juices. Well informed and ridiculously nice bar staff. A lovely patio with a good breeze, and an eclectic jukebox. It's all good. And the small bites were just what we needed. It's the reason we'll come back to Maui.

Yelp
It sounds kinda cheesy right? Drinking at a tiki bar in Maui? I'm not much of a " dive bar" with a PBR type of guy and love tiki bars and " frou frou" fruity drinks. This place has a very beautiful tropical vibe and aesthetics. The drinks are made with care and top notch ingredients. Love their attention to detail in glassware and paper umbrellas. I was surprised to know that one of the owners has a extensive history of working in bar industry in my hometown of San Francisco. Had a big lunch so some oysters were a good little snack. The only thing that could make this bar more perfect would to have it placed on a beach w/ some torches for the night!
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Delicious drinks, great service with a cool ambiance! You have to check this place out! You won't be disappointed!

Albert I.

Yelp
Literally the only place we found on Maui that serves a proper Mai Tai. I'd come back here just for that. Wish there was a bit more to do in the area.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hip, convenient spot in Central Maui to grab a few drinks and take advantage of Happy Hour with friends, this is your spot. Esters Fair Prospect opened up late last year and I had it on my list to check out for quite some time. A text from a friend provided the perfect opportunity to cross this off the list as we both wanted to try it out. They have indoor seating as well as a small outdoor space. We opted for outdoors as I could feel the heat radiating from inside on a warm summer evening. The outside provided a nice, gentle breeze to keep us cool and it's just a really cute spot. Happy hour runs from 3-6pm and we had about 30 minutes to get our orders in right away . We went with Esters Daiquiris and the burrata to start. We also ordered some pork sliders and I got a Comfortably Numb after happy hour. Drinks wise - the daiquiris were really tasty and smooth. The dried orange peel garnish was a nice touch and made for a pretty presentation. Comfortably Numb had rum, sherry, coconut, cinnamon and more and made for a really interesting flavor profile. It was like nothing like I've had before and I actually really enjoyed it! I'm all for trying something new and this was great. I'd definitely recommend it! Foodwise - we enjoyed the burrata. It was a little different in that they pair it with a toasted sweet bread roll, green onions, and sesame seeds. However, I must say it was good! The pulled pork sliders were pretty standard, but good and were generously filled. Overall, we had a really great time. In the 3 hours that we were there, we never felt rushed, were attended to, and enjoyed our time there. Definitely recommend a stop here and will be back in the future.

Yelp
Stopped in super quick, as I read from a couple blogs this was a cool tiki bar to stop into. Overall, the vibes of this place are awesome. As soon as you step in you feel the outside bustling of the streets dim behind you. We also seems to be the only tourists in the place, just judging by the conversations happening at the tables around us, so it's cool to stop into a place where locals hang. If I lived in Hawaii, this would be a stop I'd hang too. The location is kind of "sketchy" (if any part of Hawaii can feel that way)... just a very run down part of the street and the building it's located in. So it felt like a little gem amount the rough. The staff was really friendly/pleasant, and we had two drinks: Mai Tại and Sea Hag. The menu seemed like something I wish I could come back and explore, a lot of unique bar ingredients that would make an foodie stoked. I liked my Sea Hag well enough, but my husband didn't love his Mai Tại (to be honest, I think he has gotten use to the "touristy Mai Tai's we've been drinking, and from what I can gather this was a traditional take on the Mai Tại) so we ended up trading drinks!! Personally, it felt like there was a lot of ice in the glass and not a lot of "drink" for the price. If you're in Wailuku, it could be worth your visit. I would even be tempted to give it one more go (I also heard the guac is amazing) but nothing to worry about if you have to skip over it.

Yelp
Kudos to the owners and their unique name choice for their business. IMO using "Maui" in any business name is so unimaginative. Esters Fair Prospect is Wailuku's newest watering hole. What sets them apart from neighboring bars is that they offer a unique selection of cocktails, a small appetizer menu and an outdoor patio. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in the Wailuku Promenade facing bustling Main Street. The inside is open-air and cozy like a city eatery but I prefer their outdoor patio with views of Wailuku's historic buildings. They were pretty busy on this particular Thursday afternoon but turnover is quick for the most part. Parking is available on the east side of the building or on-street. The municipal parking lot in the back is closed while a new parking structure is being built. MENU: Daiquiris, cocktails, beer, wine and four appetizer selections. Happy hour is daily from 3-6pm which are for certain drinks only. BEVERAGE: Classic Daiquiri - $7.00 (happy hour) Perfectly balanced flavors without being overly potent or too citrusy. Comes elegantly topped with a slice of blood orange. Come Here Often? - $12.00 Their version of a mule was mild compared to others I've had especially in the ginger-flavor and fizziness departments but was still very good. So good I had two. Or was it three? FOOD: Burrata - $10.00 I love soft, velvety burrata and here it was no exception. The tapenade had some kick to it here and there and went extremely well with the pillowy soft and crunchy crouton bread. Highly recommended! Guac - $8.00 A bit too citrusy for me but the tortilla chips were really, really good as they had a strong corn-flavor on top of its salty goodness. Had to ask for more! SERVICE: There was no signage or host stand so I stood in the doorway waiting to be acknowledged. A friendly gal approached and I asked for a four-topper outside in which one was open. Server and bartender-in-one Colton took excellent care of us. Everyone was friendly, patient and professional. OVERALL: I think we've found our new hangout spot!

Yelp
Wonderful drinks! Amazing libations, honestly. Truly well-crafted cocktails from a master mixologist. There was an orange and mezcal based beverage : delightful pairing of flavors. Wine was a little "done", like it had been opened for awhile. They took it back with no question. Food was tasty but on the small-ish side for the price. My fish ceviche with coconut milk was really enough for a single person, maybe two, and I had ordered it to share with my party of three. Atmosphere reminded me of West Hollywood in California: stylish, sassy and creative. It's a nice outdoor bar addition to the Wailuku area. I'd visit again.

Yelp
I'm just going to go out and say it. This is the best bar on the Island. No place that I went to had drinks that compared to Esters. Maybe I'm biased because the vibe reminded me of home. Maybe I'm biased because the mixologist who served us was from San Jose...But regardless the drinks spoke for themselves. They were definitely speakeasy status. Theres a drink for everyone. Some are more sweet. Some are bitter and a good amount are im-between. Me and my friends drank almost all the drinks on the menu and out of three of us, none had a bad cocktail. If you are hungry they have some tasty bites too. The sliders and burrata were on point.

Yelp
What a fun spot to get drinks! My husband and I came here right before our flight home and it was the perfect way to end our trip! All their drinks were so good! We came when they were doing a ice cream pop up. I loved the vibe of this place too! All the bartenders were nice and friendly. I would recommend this place for drinks!

Yelp
Esters is an authentic tropical cocktail bar located off of Main Street in Wailuku. I had the opportunity to check it out with my buddy who lives locally and it was the first time for both of us. They offer seating in the outdoor patio and if it's too sunny or hot like it was when we visited, there's stools at the bar and other indoor seating. The decor def creates a chill island sort of vibe throughout the establishment. Esters serves up cocktails and tiki drinks, beer, wine, craft spirits and snacks. I sampled the "Stirred Down" (their take on an Old Fashioned) and "Madam Butterfly" (their take on a Whiskey Sour), and let's just say both of them were refreshing and hit the spot. I sure wish they had a tropical themed cocktail bar like this back where I live!

Yelp
Ask my partner what my typical first-world problem might sound like... and he might say something to the effect... (while mimicking me whine) "there's no where cool or good to eat in Wailuku except for the two places we ALWAYS go to... ugh..." (More whining....) Well, problem solved. Ester's burrata dish could very well be the last dish I ever consume if I were, say... wrongly accused of a crime and on death row. Last meal shit....well, for me. (I want to live next to the burrata plate.) I'm a little obsessed. Since I am not a regular drinker, when I do drink... I'd like for the experience to be extra special. I had their "comfortably numb" liquid creation as per our wait-person's (and is also one of the owners) suggestion. My first sensorial impression was: 'weird, captivating... I don't hate it... wait! I love it...!!! ok I need another drink to discuss this further." The husband said "taste like breakfast cereal." Personally, I'm going to have this same drink on every weekly Ester visit until I overdose on the same flavors... which I suspect shall take awhile. With the magnitude of drink choices, my method of addiction to one drink type before I move on to another could last a few years/forever. For now, the prices are very reasonable considering our current Maui market values and inflated tourist pricing...yeah, these women do right by locals by keeping a vibe positive, incredible top shelf (better than any drink you can find in Wailea!) creative and originally crafted designer drinks along with a graceful nod to local cuisine. (Hawaiian bread toasted all fancy... sweet & savory tasty-ass pulled pork... etc.) Bravo BFF females for bringing your expertise, passion and love for what you do to the Wailuku community.

Yelp
Cool little cocktail bar in Wailuku! We stumbled upon this place randomly through Yelp reviews in early Feb 2024. Very good cocktails and a sweet bar set-up, they have good snacks but not a place for lunch or anything, it's all about the drinks. The service was great and the bartenders were super friendly - sit at the bar if you can so you can watch them make drinks and enjoy some friendly conversation with other patrons and the bartenders themselves.

A D.

Yelp
This is where you get a cocktail! Bartenders are knowledgeable on spirits and creative. Such a sexy tiki vibe for Maui. Nice for Happy Hour, before or after dinner drinks, or a hang with friends.

Yelp
Fantastic cocktails!!!! Great service!!! Mahalo!!! Can't wait to go back!!! Wailuku is such a little gem!!!

Yelp
So cute and cozy. When you walk in, you're greeted with a very distinct ambiance and lots of character. Kinda hard to find seating cuz it's such a vibe, but there's outside and inside seating. That being said, inside is wayyy better, there's just so much effort put into creating this unique environment, it would be a shame to miss out on that.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love cocktails so this is a good place to visit. Ryan made great cocktails and the ambience of the place just made the whole experience wonderful. I will return next time to try the food

Yelp
Hours are highly inconsistent. We planned to go here before the theater. I called a couple of days before to see if they were open. When we showed up at 5pm, they were closed. A women setting up chairs said we aren't open until 6:30pm, BTW the theater opens at 6:45? WTF? She was incredibly rude, and could care less. We had friends who went the night before, no problem. Spent our money somewhere else that wanted customers. The rude attitude was unnecessary. Never again..

Yelp
Found one of my fave bars on Maui, with a cool boho vibe, indoor and outdoor seating, funky decor, ahmaaaazing selection of unusual craft cocktails/mocktails, the best guac I've tasted and best of all a bar dog! It doesn't have a sea view, and it is right next to a road, located in an an old arcade but none of that detracts! It is just so quirky and eclectically appealing. We walked in about 4pm and the place was full of people and laughter and we were greeted straight away with a welcoming ice cool water placed in front of us just as our derrieres hit our seats. It was difficult deciding what to choose from the cocktail list as it was all so different, none of the usual tourist hotel style boring Mai Tai here. No, this cocktail list has exotic ingredients like absinthe, chartreuse, Japanese whisky, aperol and mezcal. I plumped for the Mercury in Retrograde (mezcal, aperol, pineapple-coconut shrub, lime and absinthe) which came in a short glass, pinkish, garnished with a slice of dried pineapple and green shoot tips. My first sip was an explosion of sweet and then sour followed by the smokiness of the mezcal. A party in my mouth. Hubby is a t-totaller so he asked the bartender what he would recommend and he came up with a few tasty unusual suggestions which included a spicy lilikoi mojito. Hubby loves lilikoi and it arrived in a tall glass garnished with mint sprigs and limes and boy was it a hit! Extremely unusual, refreshing with a kick. While we were blown away by our unusual delicious drinks we took a bite of the guac and again it was a melange of tastes and chunks of avo. Yum! We will definitely be back here as I have to try the entire cocktail list especially the Velvet Elvis, and hubby wants to sample more mocktail suggestions, plus the burrata looked sooo good. Drinks are cheaper than touristy bars and food is cheap too, and it seems to be mainly local clientele. Street parking but it was easy to find and not far to walk. Go, try it out. Support this funky boho bar so we don't lose something unusual and local!

Yelp
Very cute bar with craft cocktails. We stopped in here right after landing. We tried several cocktails but the group favorite was the stirred down. Would recommend skipping the guacamole, ceviche and stale chips.

Yelp
A new business off the usual beaten path, Esters Fair Prospect is Wailuku's newest bar. This female-owned business opened during the pandemic and is a local gem that many don't know about. Esters is an authentic tropical cocktail bar with outdoor patio views of the IAO Valley. Co-owners, Jessica Everett and Suzanne Navarro serve local farm-to-table inspired small plates, classic cocktails, tiki drinks, craft spirits, rum, amaro, mezcal tequila, wine, and beer. The cocktails are not only beautiful, but they have fun names like Surf and Go Naked and Mercury in Retrograde.

Yelp
What a crazy find. Tucked away in Wailuku might be the best bar on Maui. Super chill vibe. Some great bottles behind the bar - was blown away by the eclectic and high end selections. The house cocktails are superb and unique. What a great place to sip and relax.

Yelp
1. Stop calling it a tiki bar. It's not. It's a tropical bar. Big difference. 2. Very, very good cocktails 3. Best music I've heard in a looooong time. 4. Friendly barkeeps 5. Prices are reasonable. 6. Nice appetizer /pupus to help you absorb that alcohol. 7. Art on the walls: bizarre yet cool. You can buy it. 8. You may want to thank your lucky stars that you're on Maui. I know Willie Nelson does!

Yelp
Wowsa! This is a great new place in Wailuku!! The drinks are amazing and the bartenders are phenomenal! This is a little hole in the wall that is definitely worth a visit. It feels like a big city bar on the little old island of Maui....go see for yourself!

Yelp
Proper creative cocktails in a fun environment. Looking for a well made intentioned drink using high quality spirits and elixirs made in-house with local fruit and ingredients? Look no further! This place is right up there with the best cocktail bars in mainland metropolis like SF, LA, NYC. Their Ester's daiquiri (the real kind, not a frozen strawberry mess) goes down dangerously easily. Checkout the brownie bites at the Texaco across the street when you're done.
