"The setup at Etcetera Wine Bar is warm and inviting, and the staff is exceptionally nice, making this a place we return to at least monthly. It's the ideal place to grab wine before or after dinner in the Mission. Or if you want to just stay put, the cheese boards and French-style pizzas (basically, flatbreads) will do you right." - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway, Ricky Rodriguez, Will Kamensky, Taylor Abrams

"We once saw a waitress pour wine into a mug and drink it behind the bar here, and that’s exactly why this place rules. The setup is warm and inviting, and the staff is exceptionally nice. Stop by for a drink before or after dinner in the Mission, or just make a meal out of the steak tartare and French-style pizzas (basically flatbreads)." - Taylor Abrams

I discovered this place Monday evening. I loved the live music and the food. Matt was our server and he was super attentive, knowledgeable about wine, had a great energy and also a kind smile. I felt very well taken care and very welcomed. I love the customer service we got, so 10 out of 10 for sure! Thanksss, we’ll be back :)

I passed this place many times over the years but never found the moment to explore it. Today was just the right moment, as I was looking for a place where I could eat by myself without feeling completely out of place. Etcetera really has a good vibe. I like the ceiling decor which gives u a bit of a lost traveller feeling that found his port for a brief moment. The live music was spot on, a cool jazz band playing. Not too loud just right to get you into the mood. Their wine selection is very extensive and covers all corners of the globe. I like their menu, a good combination of small bites, appetizers and of course their flat breads are done right. Crisp thin crust great for sharing or indulging by yourself. Well done I'll be back

Google
Nice spot to enjoy a little happy hour discount on your drinks (ie $3 off for select white, red and rosé wine). For those who can't drink alcohol, they do have a Riesling non-alcoholic wine, aka juice, which was also served in a wine glass - making me feel included in this get together. The atmosphere outside is chill with metal red painted chairs, and inside feel a little divvy. Depending what time you go, there might be live music.

Google
is a truly magical place that captivates the senses from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and filled with character, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. What sets Etcetera apart is its attention to detail. From the cozy seating arrangements to the soft lighting and eclectic decor, every aspect of the bar has been carefully curated to create a truly unique and enchanting experience. The wine selection at Etcetera is equally impressive, with a wide variety of wines to choose from. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking to try something new, the knowledgeable staff is always on hand to help you find the perfect glass. Overall, Etcetera Wine Bar is a hidden gem in San Francisco that offers a magical and atmospheric experience unlike any other. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in a world of wine, warmth, and wonder.

Google
I had a pleasant time when I stopped in for happy hour! I got 2 tapas and a glass of wine. Overall everything was great.

Google
Really chill, great service, and live music was amazing. Only positive things to say. Enjoy it all. We were there on a Tuesday.

Google
San Francisco just does not have enough wine bars so it is nice to find one near us in the Mission There is a decent selection of varietals and the atmosphere is perfect for a quiet after dinner drink to finish an evening We have had good luck walking up to the bar so far and the live music is a definite draw

Google
The vibe (music) was very strong and the servers help helped us a lot in trying to pick a wine that would be perfect for what we liked. It was a fun flighty experience. Will be back for more!

Yelp
Service? 5/5 Vibes? 5/5 Wine? Can't go wrong. Food? Solidly mediocre. My Spanish tortilla was glorified latke at best and the Brie pastry had no umph. Tldr: Go here for the vibes, not the food.

Yelp
My friend was in town and we wanted to have a little Wine Wednesday to catch up together, so this spot immediately came to mind. There are so many vegan options here! I got the White Wine flight (the middle one - I believe it's either from Greece or Spain was my favorite), 2 appetizers, and a dessert for a light dinner. We loved the ambiance - we came around 8 and there was a jazz band performing, which provided the perfect setting to chat and relax. The stuffed mushrooms were a pleasant surprise - I loved the savory filling and did not feel bothered by the texture at all (I hate "gummy" mushrooms). These were my favorite dish of the night along with the dessert. The hummus + olive platter was nice - I enjoyed layering the creamy hummus and an olive or two on each cracker, though I wish they were slightly larger. The banana bread pudding and ice cream was the perfect way to cap off the evening. The dried fruit helped keep the banana bread moist and the ice cream wasn't overly sweet. Can't wait to come here again and try more vegan options (including the vegan cheese)!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. A few months ago, a friend suggested it for a great wine and cheese plan, mentioning a small but cozy place with live music. Since then, it has become one of my favorites. They have an extensive wine list, and the food menu is simple but delicious. The service is good, with attentive and friendly servers.

Deb D.

Yelp
Etcetera is my go-to spot whether I'm hosting visitors or relaxing with friends. The wine selection takes you all around the globe and they even have a nice beer list for those in the group who may prefer it. What really makes this place stand out are the delicious vegan options on the menu. This is fresh, quality food served beautifully by knowledgable, energetic and friendly staff. I am absolutely in love with the stuffed mushrooms. Addicted really. Pair that with a tastefully lush interior, comfortable outdoor seating, local art and live music ... it's easily my favorite spot in The City.

Kaela A.

Yelp
Live music on a Saturday night, I'm sold! My boyfriend and I honestly stopped because of the live music. It was so refreshing to see live jazz-ish music. We got a glass of wine and enjoyed our time in here. It's fairly small and intimate place and the live music is a nice touch! Would definitely come back for wine and music!

Mark P.

Yelp
This wine bar has great quality wines and really excellent service. Service is always kind and helpful.. My only complaint is that seats at the indoor tables are really low and for tall people and it can be difficult getting out of the booths. It's are however still a 5 star review for the quality of wine, food and service.

Martin S.

Yelp
Excellent place. Extensive wine list. Great service and great service. Stopped in for a pre-dinner drink and it didn't disappoint. The music is very chill and at a perfect volume.

Miranda B.

Yelp
Cute little gem in the mission! My friend was looking for a natural wine selection which led us here. Our server and (possibly the owner?) Alexandria was super sweet and knowledgeable about the expansive wine selection they offer. My favorite from the natural white flight was the one from Spain. We got the farmers pizza which was delicious and the pesto gnocchi (vegan) was soo creamy I didn't even realize it was vegan until after it was pointed out by someone. Wasn't a big fan of the orange wine but that may just be because it is an acquired taste. Street seating was perfect for a beautiful fall day.

Yelp
Sad to be writing this review as we are long time patrons of Etcetera however, our experience this week left a lot to be desired. We went during happy hour to try a couple of appetizers, a meat and cheese board, and wine, but left disappointed. Service was ok and friendly - the server wasn't super on top of things and we often had to get her attention to order (being the only ones in the place we expected more attentiveness), but overall she did a good job. We ordered the "stuffed" mushrooms, brussel sprouts, three meat and cheese board, and the white/red wine specials. There were four tiny mushrooms and I'm not sure exactly what they were stuffed with, but was lackluster even for the $9 "discounted" HH price (see picture); I find it absurd these are usually $12. There were only a few pieces of each meat, yet a decent amount of cheese, which seemed to be priced high at $34 (more meat should have been provided especially when looking at other recent review pictures, also see picture). The brussel sprouts were by far the best thing we ordered. Wine was also delicious. Lastly, the bill - the suggested tip amount listed was based on the full prices of the items (i.e., not the actual paid amount based on HH prices) which I've never encountered before and felt was outrageous to suggest. Additionally, there's another line item for an "epic donate" tip, which again seems outrageous to see on a check. Sadly I don't think we'll be back. I will say the jazz band that came in halfway during our meal was a very pleasant surprise. We were worried about the volume in such a small place, but it added a nice ambiance.

Yelp
This Spanish Wine Bar in the Mission has an amazing happy hour! Happy Hour is everyday from 5-7 pm! They also usually have live music to enjoy while you are nibbling on tapas. The music was so chill and enjoyable to listen to and watch as they jammed out. We really enjoyed the large selection of foods to try. The Jamon Iberico board was delicious and reminded us of how good the cured meat is in Spain. It also came with bread, pickled veggies, and mustard. Winning combo. The hummus and olives were a perfect snack. Creamy and slightly salty hummus paired well with the crisps. The olives were good as well. The flammenkueche ("French pizza") was tasty but it is on the thinner side and much crispier than real pizza. I loved the bacon and onions on this because it hits you with umami. The stuffed mushrooms were also delicious. Little pockets of mushroom flavor covered in sauce.I highly recommend checking this place out for happy hour! It's a great deal and you can't beat the almost European vibes. Definitely coming back!

Emma A.

Yelp
We got a drink here on a Saturday afternoon The location is great, we were able to get a table outside and it had European vibes; think two seater tables set up to face the street. They also had covered tables with heaters that seat more people Their wine menu labeled their wines as vegan, organic, biodynamic, sustainable, or natural Would definitely come back. Great looking menu, great location and people watching

Seni F.

Yelp
Hey this is a place where owners truly care about what they share with us . Always the most pleasant experience where great food , great selection of wines and local beers , merge with live music and greatest customer service come together with beautiful interior . Coming here for many years . Thank you

Priyanka A.

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday night, to catch their 20% off on a bottle deal on Wednesdays. They were almost full, so we were happy to snag a table. They have a huge selection of wine, and the waiter was very nice about helping us choose one. We ordered three mains and a side. The food itself was good but the portions were really small for the price we paid. We ordered 3 mains and a side and were still hungry, so we ended up having to go elsewhere for more food. Overall, while I really enjoyed the ambience, I would likely not come here for food again and at most will come after eating to have wine and a quick snack.

Tia L.

Yelp
My bestie and I wanted some snacks and desserts while catching up and this was such a cute spot to do exactly that. The ambience was super chill and welcoming and the staff was so kind and came in with some awesome wine and cheese pairing recs. Sitting at the bar was a great experience. Will be coming back for these PROFITEROLES! So delicious, tastes like a Nutella ice cream puff. Very grateful that they are open late!

Clara M.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely little spot in the Mission. Perfect for Happy Hour. My friends and I got two glasses of wine for $3 off, which was a pretty good deal and let us try a couple of new wines we wouldn't have tried otherwise! All we're very delicious. Appetizers were also $3 off, so we decided to try the Bruschetta and the Brussel Sprouts. The Bruschetta is seasonal so we got their tomato bruschetta, lightly toasted bread covered in cheese and topped with fresh tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing, I would definitely order again (but rumor is, they are moving towards a squash based Bruschetta for the fall season, excited for that one as well). The Brussel Sprouts we're however very disappointing. They were chopped very small, and covered in slightly burnt cheese. You could only taste the cheese and couldn't get any of the tasty Brussel Sprout flavor. A miss for an otherwise perfect Happy Hour. Although I was a little disappointed, I definitely want to come back. It was a nice happy hour deal with a charming atmosphere. Live music, a lively crowd, and wonderful food. Excited to come again!

Yelp
I used to come here a decade ago and then i stopped but then i returned - There was a very strong odor (food) and it didnt smell good. Im french and i love stinky cheese but this was not it. The wines were great and the staff was pleasant and mellow. The atmosphere was dim lighting and intimate and hit the good spots. We decided to have dinner.. but honestly i love food from alsace but it was tasteless and dry. A huge disappointment. I would stick to wine at this place if i revisit.

Etoli W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere , such a good live music with Nico. Lovely place , warmly recommend !

Roop K.

Yelp
Suuuuuuch a cute cozy charming spot in the mission that's open decently late for SF on the weekdays! The ambiance here is something else - nice live instrumental music, cozy lighting inside, and a huge map painted by a local artist on the ceiling. We looked up and happened to be sitting under Asia ( which applies to my friend and I) and were admiring the artists' work. Onto wine and food -- firstly wow - the price points were so good and the wine list was quiet extensive. The profiteroles were SO SO amazing - crispy and flaky cream puffs with a deep chocolate ganache on top which was cooled off with I think hazelnuts. The textures, richness of chocolate, and cold ice cream was the best way to end the night.

Nina D.

Yelp
Great place for a date night! The wine and ambiance were perfect. We enjoyed the German Riesling in the table areas and it was great place to hangout with friends!

Helene F.

Yelp
Perfect location and ambiance for an amazing glass of wine .. with Valencia street being closed to traffic Saturday afternoon . . You cannot ask for more ..merci

Fernando F.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed a nice night here. Got a chance to sit outside and experience the bustle of the Mission (a calmer respectable bustle for the Mission, compared to a Mission Street) I liked the live music band (they were playing music from inside, with the door open). It truly felt like they were next to you because the music reverberated outside. We ordered the wine flights (red and sparking). I enjoyed the red wine flight, my favorite being the French wine, naturally. The Mexican pizza (for lack of butchering the full word Mexican Flammenkueche) was delicious, think crust and had a little kick on it due to the obvious jalapeños. (I was a tad hungry after, but that may have been more as a result of the wine and a lack of lunch more than anything) Would go here again as it's reasonable priced a good place for a date night.

Erena S.

Yelp
I like coming here on Fridays. We can sit outside and listen at a local jazz band. Staff is friendly and food is good with delicious wine.

C W.

Yelp
Solid vibes, solid music (a little bit for older folks), but a bit loud given the small enclosed space. Do not get the food.

M J.

Yelp
What a find. My wife and I were strolling down Valencia on a beautiful Tuesday night looking to grab some dinner. We stopped because of the mellow 3 piece band playing and the seemingly delicious menu, which did not disappoint!! First, the wine...wifey had a delicious "natural"' Chardonnay that was crisp and light, reminiscent of a cider. I had 3 different reds - a round the world trip starting in Portugal, Chile then Spain (my favorite). The food?! Well, outstanding!! Quinoa salad, Pancetta and caramelized onion flatbread, ending with a Spanish potato tapa. Ya gotta come here!! The service was fee-nomenal!! , great wait staff and very knowledgeable and friendly.

Alexander C.

Yelp
Cute wine bar with a great selection. Loved the live music they had on a Tuesday night. Happy hour is a good deal with $3 off the wine of the week and discounts on some appetisers too. Really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. Could have eaten a whole plate myself. A little spicy and a lot cheesy. What's not to like!?

Cherry T.

Yelp
Cute, romantic date night spot with live music and affordable "snacks" to pair with a wide array of wines. Came here for the jazz, stayed for the jazz 5/5 Charcuterie Plate- the best cheese was the "cave cheese" , fermented in a cave according to the waitress. It's creamy, spreadable and had a deep, nutty aftertaste that paired well with the white wine flight we got 4/5 White wine & Rose flight - I don't remember which ones I liked but they were all alright. The handwritten name tags labelled each glass but were hard to read in the dim light. 4/5 Scottish pizza - the crust was crunch and thin but had air pockets where the goat cheese didn't distribute so some areas were mouthfuls of cheese (no complaints tho) and was a bit too salty with the smoked salmon 5/5 vibes - music was perfect in terms of volume since we were sitting the the far back. Waitress was attentive and brought new jugs of water whenever we ran out. Bathroom was clean and had interesting wine periodic table. ****4.5 stars! Would come back for another date night out

Bella J.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, I'd say they are solid 3.5. The wine was good, the food was okay, as well as the ambience. However, I wasn't fond of the service. I felt uncomfortable, they treated me weirdly in particular out of the company I was with and I hate such things.

Cathy L.

Yelp
Etcetera is a wine bar located in the mission. My boyfriend and I dropped by after dinner time but still made it in time for happy hour. We ordered a red wine and a white wine (the two listed as happy hour items) and listened to live music. Amazing vibe and decent wine!

Sedine S.

Yelp
Came by here after dinner. There was a pianist and a cellist playing. Decided to grab a table outside to enjoy the vibes. Super solid wine list. Went for a red to chill on. Everyone was enjoying their wine and others were dining as well. Would definitely come back to chill and unwind with some wine.

Andry H.

Yelp
The stars you give this place, is a representation of your state of mind. Waiters aren't "btchy", maybe you're too sensitive they didn't "give you stares" they pay attention ‍ or maybe they are just French Alright, jokes aside: Cute French wine bar, sidewalk of Valencia, haz PERSONALITY (in a very good way) Rich wine collection. Gotta try the French pizza. Yummy and quite light. Open air parklet. Live music. People watching. Perfect date night spot.

Mallory C.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! Never have I been to a place where I've felt more at home! The staff is all amazing. They are always so friendly and genuine. The food is killer, I had the vegan pesto ravioli and it was so delicious!!! I had a few too many drinks, so I lost count of which wines I tried but they were all great!!! While sitting and drinking with my friends we got to take in Al the beautiful art, and come to find out it's all local!!!

Ed W.

Yelp
I've been here twice and loved it both times! Charming atmosphere, delicious plates and, most important to me, fantastic French red wine. Enjoyed all the food/cheese plates shared amongst my friends but the one that stuck out to me were the stuffed mushrooms. Yummy, yummy. I'm not much of a dessert guy but the creme brulee was magnifique! And live music and good service too, what more could you want? Now I just wish I could remember that one Bordeaux I ordered...guess I'll have to go back and figure it out (burp).

Andrew R.

Yelp
This is a super cute spot and the live music is such a nice touch! The drink selection is plentiful and the service was great! Highly recommend!!

Clara L.

Yelp
Came here with my friend who is from the Netherlands. She was very excited that the restaurant gave her the same vibes in europe and the menu looked like the one you can find back her home. Tried their "pizza" and its thin and simple, which goes well with wine. They have real belgium beer which we both were very excited. Vibes were nice and the servers were very friendly too

Hannah J.

Yelp
Absolutely love this wine bar! So cozy and welcoming, the French menu is to die for and even has options that accommodate a lot of dietary restrictions (I have quite a few). Don't walk, run for the salmon salad! The bar tenders are always lovely and know their stuff. And there's live music on weekends!!! 10/10 great place for a date or a glass after work.

Davita X.

Yelp
This place was great! Came for wine and dinner before a concert next door at the Chapel. The food was awesome and the wine was good. Lots of interesting options for wine by the bottle (and a bunch by the glass) that I'd love to try if I come back. I like that they offer wine flights too! Vibe was great, not crowded but good energy in a Thursday night. Definitely will go back

Jad A.

Yelp
We always have a great time at Etcetera! They have expanded onto the sidewalk during Covid and it's a pleasant place to go to. The service is always good and the staff is friendly. They have a great selection of wines and finger food!

Allison W.

Yelp
Live music + wine are my favorite things--and Etcetera combined the two so well. My friend and I came on a Saturday at 8 p.m. and were promptly seated in the windowsill (the best seats in the house). We both ordered glasses of white, and 20 minutes later, a jazz band started playing! The music was such a nice addition (and soft enough that my friend and I didn't have to scream at each other while talking). Overall, the ambiance of this place was amazing and the service was prompt. Will definitely recommend this place to others.

Keizzel C.

Yelp
Wonderful place with live music playing outside. Perfect for a group of friends if you want to dine in their outdoor space or indoors. The indoors space is quite small so we were lucky to grab a table for 4 without a reservation on a Friday night. We ordered two bottles of their rose, bruschetta, hummus, and caprese pizza to share amongst the table and it was the perfect combination of bites. Simple items but just hit the spot for a nice catch up. You can definitely spend the entire night here like we did!

Sebas C.

Yelp
Amazing place to eat and chill. Best French food in town. Definitely one of the best pizzas i have tried in year.

Laetitia V.

Yelp
My husband and I went last Saturday when a Jazz band was playing. We had a wonderful time. Food was great. The service was casual and fun. The staff took care of us right away and made us feel very welcome. We especially recommend the wine flights and the flat bread! We ordered the seasonal one with squash. So yummy, I could have ate the whole thing by myself! We have come several times here and everytime is fun.

Mike T.

Yelp
Great Brazilian music on Monday nights at 6. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Not too noisy either. Banana tart was a nice dessert and they have a full drink list.

Sara L.

Yelp
I am always on the lookout for a great wine bar and I really enjoyed this place with my girls on a Saturday night. There are just a handful of seats and tables, but we were able to snag bar seats right away. They offer a good selection of wine and a couple of flight options - I went for the red flight. Enjoyed it so much that we ordered another bottle of cab. They also have a decent menu of bites to nibble on, and we got a cheese board and jamon iberico. This was my first time trying vegan cheese - it tasted more like a salty tofu but I wasn't mad about it! All the munchies paired well with our drinks. With the moody vibes (jazz music and soft disco lights!) and delicious charcuterie and drinks, we could've easily spent more than a couple of hours here! Parking: metered street parking or parking garage nearby. We took an uber.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Huge wine selection!! Etcetera offers 5-10 reds, whites, and sparkling wines by the glass and about 5 pages worth of wines by the bottle. They also have some cocktails and beer, but wine is definitely the focus. I love the live music and patio seating at Etcetera.

Roxy T.

Yelp
I love the mission that the owner has, not to mention that wine collection here are amazing. My favorite tapa here is the French pizza with dates, the sweetest goes very well with the wine they have. ( which tend to be dry)

Olivia T.

Yelp
I liked this wine bar for its coziness and local feel. We came here on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend after going to a couple of other places that had a wait. There was a good amount of open space inside, and there was live music. They have a decent wine selection, and a large selection of cheese and meats! We got a cheese board, and we thought it was alright. It was definitely very basic. My husband is gluten free, and they had gluten free crackers for him to have with the cheese board. This place is definitely not "trendy," but that's what I loved about it. The prices were fair, and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
I love the vibe of Etcetera. Living in the mission, you can't beat the location. I would come here for an afternoon wine night regardless. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about what wine and food pairs well together

Xin S.

Yelp
A beautiful little restaurant with live music at night--perfect hangout place for a small meal and dessert. The music was not the best, but that's probably because I lived in New York and Philly where the jazz musicians really put their souls into their music. The music here is more for creating a relaxing ambience. The food was very good and there is a pleasantly surprising array of choices, from flatbread pizza to mushroom risotto to Spanish omlette. The cheese plates look super interesting, and wine pairings are suggested, a fun way to taste food-wine pairings. I really like the chocolate flourless cake, a perfect sweet ending to a cheerful night any day of the week.

Meg M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but I had a bad experience. The waiter was extremely arrogant and the food, mediocre and overpriced. I came here excited, looking for a comfortable, romantic date, but the music was blasting so loud that I could barely hear him over the music. I also found the seating really uncomfortable. I was looking for an intimate experience but this left a bad taste in my mouth (literally) and I will go elsewhere for a more friendly setting where I can hear my date and sit on a comfortable chair.
