Inside the university-side Cornerstone Exchange, this project from a seasoned local chef turns out Old World blistered pies and New York slices. The Herald-Leader detailed the dough craft and ingredient sourcing, and it later joined Lexington Pizza Week with creative one-offs.

As a big pizza fan, I have to say, Ethereal Slice House nails it! The pizza was amazing – crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and fresh toppings. Rebecca, who was working there, was awesome too! Super friendly and made the experience even better. If you love great pizza, this place is a must-visit!

On 3/15/24, my husband and I had a delightful date night at this new pizza spot. Despite sparse parking near the campus, we lucked out during spring break. We sampled a beer flight and savored the old world-style “drunken mushroom” pizza, along with a Caesar salad and hot honey chicken wings. The food was served promptly and deliciously. The casual ambiance of the spacious interior, coupled with immediate service due to the few customers present, added to our enjoyment. The house-made dressings elevated the flavors significantly. We’d easily rate it 10/10 and would return, though we wish they offered cauliflower or gluten-free options. Their pizza-by-the-slice option is perfect for those not looking to commit to a whole pie. There is also a shared restaurant inside that serves late night food options, but it was closed due to spring break. Regardless, it is definitely worth checking this place out.

When I first tried Ethereal, I thought it might be my new favorite pizza place in Lexington since my previous had just closed. Great crust, great toppings, and a nice side of ranch. Just good all around. However the employees seem to really hate working here. Not their fault, likely management. Either they are clueless as to if the food has even been made and can't find it, or they are straight up rude. Went to pick up an online order once and a guy brushed me off saying to order online and walked away. Each time I have gotten pizza from here, it has consistently gotten worse. Today it might as well have been inedible. I guess they left it sitting on a hot oven after it was done and it continued to cook. The crust is hard as a rock and I wish I was exaggerating. So sad to see, I guess I will have to find another place. Just not worth the money. By the way, if you order pickup online, you are required to choose 1 premium topping and 1 regular topping. I asked one of the workers if they were aware of this and apparently the owner is fully aware of it but refuses to change it. Pretty scummy.

Watermelon pina colada is sooo good! Pizza is always delicious and seasoned perfectly. My favorite pizza/beer place near UK Campus by far.

Have you ever felt lost in a familiar place? I know I have and let me tell you it can take a toll and a man’s brain and his sudden realization of bad decision making being ingraining into the very fiber of his being. Well let me just say I was lost but now I am found. “And what have you found? “ is something you might ask yourself and boy do I have an answer. I found a place of love and friendly faces. Faces that make me feel safe, Faces that don’t pass judgement. Faces that light up the bleakest skies. They also have pizza and this frozen thingy that has alcohol in it. Thanks to Rebecca I’ve had a life changing moment that’s made me question reality and the importance of being a badass bartender. Rebecca is more than just a happy face to help you figure out what your taste buds need. To me Rebecca is all of those things. But more importantly a friendly face to remind me I’ll find my way back to Louisville.

I didn't even get to eat there. When I travelled an hour to try out this pizza place, I got there and no one seemed to care I was there. When the bar noticed I was looking around they tried to get the attention of the worker there. The worker non-chalantly was chatting with someone at the bar. When I tried to get his attention he seemed more focused on finishing his conversation than helping me. I got there around 1:45pm and the worker told me it would be another hour before they could start making anything. When I asked when they opened usually, they said around noon. They claimed they had someone call out and that was the reason nothing was ready to go. Why did almost two hours go by and no one was able to cover? Do they only have 1 worker and things fail if they don't show up? This was an off-putting experience. I doubt I will attempt to try again just because how unapologetic the worker was that was there. Outside of that, the inside seemed extremely empty and seemed more geared toward trying to cater to a bar crowd versus having any aesthetic. I don't know if they are more concerned about serving drinks rather than serving pizza. The counter that you order from (I think you order from there) didn't look clean.

As a NJ native who moved to KY a few years ago, I've been on a never-ending hunt for good pizza (most of what passes for pizza outside of NYC and NJ doesn't even qualify to be called pizza in the first place). Ethereal Slice House is, hands-down, the absolute best pizza I've found in all of KY (truly, the best pizza I've found anywhere outside the NY metro area, nationwide). It's not only "good enough," but this would be A+ pizza in any NJ or NY neighborhood. Perfect crust, the right balance of sauce and cheese, and all the right kinds of ingredients (no, not all "pizza sauce" is created equal...nor is all mozz). If you're a NY or NJ transplant like me, look no farther to scratch that pizza-from-back-home itch. If you're not a NY or NJ transplant, try Ethereal Slice House for your first REAL pizza experience and see why we make such a snobby fuss about pizza from elsewhere!

Terrible. First they forgot about my order and waited 15+ min for a slice of pizza although I was grateful I didn’t get it. Why? Well, the personnel making the pizzas touch them directly with their hands after touching other surfaces like card terminals, other tables, wall and other objects. Specifically going to the card terminal directly to the cheese container is definitely not hygienic. I saw long hairs on everyone and nobody had protection there nor the on the mouth. Additionally, super rude, when I went to ask for my order they mentioned “I swear I gave you a number” putting the responsibility on me and then when I asked what we could do to solve it, the person just said “hmmm” and gave me the back not talking to me anymore even if I asked again. The kitchen floor and the pizza prep area looked muddy
