Inside the university-side Cornerstone Exchange, this project from a seasoned local chef turns out Old World blistered pies and New York slices. The Herald-Leader detailed the dough craft and ingredient sourcing, and it later joined Lexington Pizza Week with creative one-offs.

As a big pizza fan, I have to say, Ethereal Slice House nails it! The pizza was amazing – crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and fresh toppings. Rebecca, who was working there, was awesome too! Super friendly and made the experience even better. If you love great pizza, this place is a must-visit!

When I first tried Ethereal, I thought it might be my new favorite pizza place in Lexington since my previous had just closed. Great crust, great toppings, and a nice side of ranch. Just good all around. However the employees seem to really hate working here. Not their fault, likely management. Either they are clueless as to if the food has even been made and can't find it, or they are straight up rude. Went to pick up an online order once and a guy brushed me off saying to order online and walked away. Each time I have gotten pizza from here, it has consistently gotten worse. Today it might as well have been inedible. I guess they left it sitting on a hot oven after it was done and it continued to cook. The crust is hard as a rock and I wish I was exaggerating. So sad to see, I guess I will have to find another place. Just not worth the money. By the way, if you order pickup online, you are required to choose 1 premium topping and 1 regular topping. I asked one of the workers if they were aware of this and apparently the owner is fully aware of it but refuses to change it. Pretty scummy.

On 3/15/24, my husband and I had a delightful date night at this new pizza spot. Despite sparse parking near the campus, we lucked out during spring break. We sampled a beer flight and savored the old world-style “drunken mushroom” pizza, along with a Caesar salad and hot honey chicken wings. The food was served promptly and deliciously. The casual ambiance of the spacious interior, coupled with immediate service due to the few customers present, added to our enjoyment. The house-made dressings elevated the flavors significantly. We’d easily rate it 10/10 and would return, though we wish they offered cauliflower or gluten-free options. Their pizza-by-the-slice option is perfect for those not looking to commit to a whole pie. There is also a shared restaurant inside that serves late night food options, but it was closed due to spring break. Regardless, it is definitely worth checking this place out.

Watermelon pina colada is sooo good! Pizza is always delicious and seasoned perfectly. My favorite pizza/beer place near UK Campus by far.

Have you ever felt lost in a familiar place? I know I have and let me tell you it can take a toll and a man’s brain and his sudden realization of bad decision making being ingraining into the very fiber of his being. Well let me just say I was lost but now I am found. “And what have you found? “ is something you might ask yourself and boy do I have an answer. I found a place of love and friendly faces. Faces that make me feel safe, Faces that don’t pass judgement. Faces that light up the bleakest skies. They also have pizza and this frozen thingy that has alcohol in it. Thanks to Rebecca I’ve had a life changing moment that’s made me question reality and the importance of being a badass bartender. Rebecca is more than just a happy face to help you figure out what your taste buds need. To me Rebecca is all of those things. But more importantly a friendly face to remind me I’ll find my way back to Louisville.

I didn't even get to eat there. When I travelled an hour to try out this pizza place, I got there and no one seemed to care I was there. When the bar noticed I was looking around they tried to get the attention of the worker there. The worker non-chalantly was chatting with someone at the bar. When I tried to get his attention he seemed more focused on finishing his conversation than helping me. I got there around 1:45pm and the worker told me it would be another hour before they could start making anything. When I asked when they opened usually, they said around noon. They claimed they had someone call out and that was the reason nothing was ready to go. Why did almost two hours go by and no one was able to cover? Do they only have 1 worker and things fail if they don't show up? This was an off-putting experience. I doubt I will attempt to try again just because how unapologetic the worker was that was there. Outside of that, the inside seemed extremely empty and seemed more geared toward trying to cater to a bar crowd versus having any aesthetic. I don't know if they are more concerned about serving drinks rather than serving pizza. The counter that you order from (I think you order from there) didn't look clean.

As a NJ native who moved to KY a few years ago, I've been on a never-ending hunt for good pizza (most of what passes for pizza outside of NYC and NJ doesn't even qualify to be called pizza in the first place). Ethereal Slice House is, hands-down, the absolute best pizza I've found in all of KY (truly, the best pizza I've found anywhere outside the NY metro area, nationwide). It's not only "good enough," but this would be A+ pizza in any NJ or NY neighborhood. Perfect crust, the right balance of sauce and cheese, and all the right kinds of ingredients (no, not all "pizza sauce" is created equal...nor is all mozz). If you're a NY or NJ transplant like me, look no farther to scratch that pizza-from-back-home itch. If you're not a NY or NJ transplant, try Ethereal Slice House for your first REAL pizza experience and see why we make such a snobby fuss about pizza from elsewhere!

Terrible. First they forgot about my order and waited 15+ min for a slice of pizza although I was grateful I didn’t get it. Why? Well, the personnel making the pizzas touch them directly with their hands after touching other surfaces like card terminals, other tables, wall and other objects. Specifically going to the card terminal directly to the cheese container is definitely not hygienic. I saw long hairs on everyone and nobody had protection there nor the on the mouth. Additionally, super rude, when I went to ask for my order they mentioned “I swear I gave you a number” putting the responsibility on me and then when I asked what we could do to solve it, the person just said “hmmm” and gave me the back not talking to me anymore even if I asked again. The kitchen floor and the pizza prep area looked muddy

He Said She Said ..

Yelp
He Said: We arrived in town the night before Billy Strings and wanted to check out some local brews. The bartenders were knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The space was cool. The pizza was good (but not great), and I'm not sure where else we could have taken in marble races on the big screen. She Said: I don't have much to add to what He said except to reinforce how great the staff were on our visit. If we lived nearby, I would come in just to chat with them while sipping a beer and watching marble races. Potty Points: It's a winding path to the bathrooms, but once there they were clean and no wait. 4/5 potty points!

Yelp
Located in downtown Lexington, next to the University of Kentucky. They serve some NY style and Olde Style Pizza, they are delicious they have a variety of options for everyone. Cornerstone. They offer both NY Style and Olde World Style Pizzas. We ordered: * NY Style: Honey Cup (10/10) & The Wildcat * Olde Style: The Garden Pesto & the Drunken Mushroom (10/10)

Yelp
Tasty pizza and good beers and at a reasonable price, which around UK is hard to find. The specialty pizzas are inventive and staff is friendly, in fact they are super eager to help you when you come in. Great place for lunch, or a beer during or after work or classes. High recommend!!

Yelp
Good pizza more of a carnival style. I liked the beers and some are different. The sour smoked beer was a nice different beer that would go good with bbq!

Yelp
The pizza was fabulous! Wasn't expecting it to be in a food hall so ambience was lacking but that's on us for not understanding the layout. Would definitely go again next time we're in Lexington.

Yelp
This place was not good and I'll sum it up. The pizza itself was below average. The service was beyond terrible. My group of 4 had to wait 50 minutes before the first pizza came out. We also had wings along with the pizza and they might have been the worst wings I have ever had. We could not even finish it. Keep in mind that the restaurant did not have many people with only 2 other groups of 2 and 4. The restaurant ambience is average and the waiter did not even give us plates when they brought the food. Overall, I will never be coming back and do not recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Showed up after opening ours and "opening" does not mean food. I assume that means they are only doing beer at 11am which may be a sign of a problem. Before one pays to park near UK campus, it should be clear that lunch is not part of lunch hours. This place may be fantastic at other times and Ethereal Lambda Stout is my favorite of most favorites beers...but not at 11am when I just want some pizza to get me through the rest of my work day.

Yelp
Delicious pizza! We had the margarita and made our own meat lovers pizzas. Loved them both. Great beer selections and root beer on tap was tasty. A great family restaurant, had enough left over to send home with our student. Would recommend!

Yelp
The food and beer is great but the employees make it an awkward experience especially if it's your first time there. Loved their pizza so it's worth trying again.

Yelp
Fabulous New York style pizza, easy pickup, fair price for what you get. Lived up to the hype!

Yelp
Casual, laidback eatery on UK campus with the best pizza! Great background music at the perfect volume so you can still converse with friends. We enjoyed the pesto garden pizza, and it was so filling that 2 slices was enough for me!

Yelp
First of all, the pizza is delicious. Big slices, good New York style. Better than Goodfellas. The appetizers, like the fried ravioli and garlic knots were great, and very creative. Large dining room, and orders come out quickly. Great pizza place.

Yelp
Best pizza in Lexington! Toppings are great but the cheese is the star of the show. Perfect crust. We'll definitely make this our regular pizza stop.

Yelp
Really good pizza with plenty of toppings!! Wasn't a fan of the glaric knots, weird after taste. But this is a pizza review and not a glaric knot review.

Yelp
Ordered delivery the pies were amazing and arrived early. Definitely will be ordering more pizza from them it was great.

Yelp
I ordered take out here and was very excited to try based on reviews. We got the Plain Ol' Cheese pizza (14") and it was delicious. It reminds me a lot of an authentic New York style pizza I get back home. My only critique was it could use a bit more sauce, but that's more of a personal preference. Overall, the pizza wasn't too greasy, the crust was airy and crispy with the perfect crunch, and the cheese wasn't chewy but still stretchy. I wish I could have gotten a picture but it was gone just too fast.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and Food! First time there and I had such an incredible experience. I put into my phone "best pizza in Lexington" and this place came up and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
Good pizza by slice! We got the meat pizza slices and they came out hot and fresh! Hit the spot with virtually no wait.
