Etto

"Etto means ‘little’ and this cosy, rustic restaurant close to the National Gallery certainly fits the bill. Start with a snack and a sherry before enjoying eye-catching, modern dishes which are generously sized and full of flavour. The comprehensive wine list has a focus on the Med." - Michelin Inspector

If you’re in Dublin and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute must. From starters to dessert, every dish was perfectly executed — beautifully plated, full of flavor, and thoughtfully paired. This place is not just a restaurant — it’s also a wine bar, so expect a superb wine list that complements the menu beautifully. Whether you’re a casual drinker or a wine enthusiast, you’ll find something to love. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance — it’s a popular spot, and for good reason.

One of the best meals I've had In quite some time. The food was fantastic, high-quality, nice sized portions, and beautifully presented. The service was super. All servers were fantastic, really friendly, genuine, professional and good fun! Would highly recommend it, and I will definitely be back! A big thanks to all the staff that made it such an enjoyable lunch.

Google
The service here is fantastic!! Honestly have never had a nicer waiter than the one we had last Thursday. The food is also amazing. The menu is small but still has great variety. I really recommend getting the grilled hispi cabbage as a side! Portion sizes were very good, the perfect amount of food per plate. Can’t wait to come back again and try some more of the menu.

Google
What an awesome restaurant. The food choices were so incredibly good. Even the bread was perfect. I especially loved the potato stick (sorry, I forget the fancy name!) Unique flavors and delightful service. We brought our toddler and the staff was very patient with us. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Dublin!

Google
Food was excellent. Staff were lovely and helpful with the wine list. Do not skip out on the prunes for dessert, it’s an absolute gem. Only downside was we were a little squished in with our tables next to a loud party but the restaurant could not help that. Overall would definitely go back.

Google
4 of us ate here a couple of weeks ago. Superb experience. Everything was delicious, starters, mains and desserts. (Dont miss the hashed potatos as a side... unreal!). 80 quid per head including tip. Money well spent. Casual fine dining at its best.

Google
My lord, dinner here was like eating artwork! Completely forgot to take photos of our starters - I had beef carpaccio with a horseradish sauce and some very tasty mini mushrooms. Hubby had boar salami on a toasted potato cake. My main was lamb with minted puréed peas and a fried sweetbread, my husband had a citrus-y risotto to die for. Dessert was chocolate torte for him, mine was some unbelievable concoction with shortbread, strawberries, whipped cream, and a basil accent. We devoured everything with a disgraceful speed - so, so yummy. Our server Miranda was on the spot, dancing between the eight tables in the room, and making her hard work look effortless. She was funny, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, describing the items that were unfamiliar to us. Our tastebuds were tantalized and titilated - one of the best meals I've ever enjoyed, including Paris and a three-star restaurant in Rome. Definitely book ahead, and get ready for the meal of a lifetime!

Google
Food was amazing and they timed bringing it out perfectly. Small restaurant so tables are quite close together

Yelp
Was able to walk in on a Tuesday evening and get a table outside. The service was excellent and food was just as good. Lovely wine selection and desert options as well.

Yelp
Smallish resto with a little bar in the back that seats about 10.. this joint is a pretty hard reservation so book well in advance! I went during Christmas and they were doing a pre fixed menu for 78 Euros. You get a starter, main entree & dessert.. everything else is extra! This is the sister restaurant to Uno Mas they said. Started with Pickled Mackerel which was recommended & very good. Next, for the main I got the Roast Fallow Deer with CEP Sausage also reco'd by the waiters.. very good & cooked a perfect MR! Dessert was an Apple Tart with roasted barley ice cream.. this was extraordinary and paired with a double espresso. Great wine program & all the food comes upstairs in one of those elevators! Service was great and the servers gave me MANY other places to try around Dublin. Prices were a bit higher here than any other joint I went to & I went to many joints!! PS- Cap it off with some live music & a pint at O' Donaghues

Yelp
First off... the staff are all young and attractive... every one could be a model of some sort. We walked in before they were open (we did not know), it was empty, they asked if we had reservations, we laughed and asked if we needed them waving around... they said only the bar was available, and we said "Perfect". AMAZING wine list, and super affordable by American standards. We picked a French Pinot, bread/oil, and the Delmonico steak for two. We slowly sipped the wonderfully fragrant Pinot, and nibbled slowly on the basic brown bread while we awaited the entree. Everyone at the six person bar was a regular, and was friendly and polite. The delmonico arrived just barely medium (how we ordered it) with wonderful garlic fried potatoes, and a balsamic salad on the plate (dandelion and arugula). The steak was not melt in your mouth... you wouldn't want it to be, it was delicious and requires your full attention to eat it. The bernaise sauce was OK on the potatoes, but on the Steak... it came alive. We'd never had anything like it. We BARELY finished the meal, and we passed on dessert... and the other four at the bar shook their heads in disbelief..."You're on Holiday, you MUST get their dessert!" We passed, but were so content with the staff, the food, and the customers we were completely happy. Five for five in our book.

Yelp
A small, modern-vibe restaurant and wine bar hidden behind black-framed doors in the Merrion Row restaurant district. Only tall bar-side seating for one individual's reservation. Came in 30 minutes before my reservation and was offered the tall seating as expected. Environment: small and narrow interior, seats and tables are a bit small, need to put in some work to squeeze around, music and noise could be a bit loud. Service: friendly, reommended the oysters to me. But it took about 15-20 minutes after my oysters and the starter of croquettes till the main course was served. Raw: daily oyster from the west coast of Ireland. Small to medium size, rich and vibrant flavor of seaweed, briney mineral water, and egg white. Sauce was a bit too vinegary for me. Starter: hake and chorizo croquettes. Hot, crispy outside, hake flesh tasted wild and nutty, but seasoning a bit too salty. Went well with the house mayonnaise. Main Course: steamed halibut. Halibut steamed to perfection, sauce adding sweet and savory flavor to the filet. Mushrooms are a bit bland and redundant; wish seaweeds or samphire would be served. Over all: 4-4.5 stars. Solid place, maybe better for lunch than dinner since the place has relatively limited space.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of eating at Etto on my recent trip to Dublin. It's a small unassuming restaurant with alot of personality. The restaurant was super busy, yet there was a reassuring calmness from the staff. Service was great, super-friendly, knowledgable and attentive. For dinner, I started with the Scallop crudo with radish, pomelo, buttermilk and horseradish. It was AMAZING! The flavors worked so well together and the scallop was so tender. (I just started daydreaming about the dish and wish I were back there right now to have another plate!) For my main I had the Aged Parmesan Ravioli with sweet corn, cep, calçot leek and roasted hazelnut pesto. Another amazing dish! At first I was concerned with the corn, as it had been charred and I was afraid it would overpower the dish, but it did not. It was the perfect blend of flavors and textures. And to finish my meal, I had the Whisky Caramel tart with milk ice cream. I thought I had just died and gone to heaven. What a great way to finish an incredible meal. I had some great recommendations and wine pairings with the meal, including a fabulous Vin Santo to go with the Caramel Tart. I highly recommend ETTO if you are in Dublin!

Yelp
What a great spot! The food was amazing, everything was put together so well it should earn a Michelin star at least. Wild boar, Hake cooked to perfection and spinach / ricotta malfatti for dinner. Only topped by the prunes and mascarpone for dessert. We sat at the bar and observed Victor hard at work, doing what needed to be done, yet had the time to be a gracious host and food concierge. We were sooooo happy we found this place. Not a spot to miss!

Yelp
Perfect. This is what good dining should be. Loud and intimate and charming when busy, but the food is balanced and new and interesting and wonderful. The staff was amazing; the drinks were delicious, and the food was phenomenal. A must-go. (My only warning would be to be careful of nuts, they were in almost every item).

Yelp
Great tasting food in a very tightly spaced European style Bistro! We were here as business travelers, a group of 5! I had the seafood dish, perfectly prepared Cod dish and elegantly presented. Others tried their steak for two! And we had a great service along the way. I'd recommend the place but again the biggest downside to me was the sitting arrangement as you had to squeeze your way in thru the tiny front door space. Made holding conversations tuff as well.

Yelp
Wow, wow, and more wow! What a fantastic meal. The restaurant is very small and cozy with a waitstaff that is very friendly and helpful. The food was some of if not the best we have had on our trip across Europe. We had the lamb and gale for mains, mussels for a starter and the prunes for desert. I'm not sure who is putting together the menu and these flavors but they need a raise. It is a bit on the pricey side but it was well worth the money.

Yelp
Loved it, great service and the food was amazing Very small premises so good to book in advance Really interesting options on the menu

Yelp
Great food Great service The smoked salmon starter was delicious as was my main of lamb rump. For me though the yeast panna cotta that came with strawberry, balsamic and basil was the star of the show!!! Small but well worth trying to get a table here

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: Amazing delicious food. We stopped in for lunch and was amazed with the food. This is what we ate: The Worker's lunch - meatballs with polenta, and kale. Wonderful presentation. The meatballs were very tasty, moist and delicious. There is a saltiness and a sweetness from the raisins in the meatballs. Topped off with a charred lemon slice. Amazing flavors all come together with the creamy polenta and the kale. Absolutely delicious! Friendly service.

Yelp
I don't remember last time I had such an amazing restaurant experience. Etto is a place I will definitely go back to. Soon. Everything was perfect. Starter, main course and desert. Even the coffee was well above average. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Very cute small contemporary Italian just on Merrion Row. Went for their tasting menu (seemed like a good idea a regular Tuesday), which was reasonably priced at 35 Euro. We were sitting at the bar as their were no tables when we called the same day, which for us was just better since I enjoy seeing what is going on in the kitchen! The owner was working this evening, serving the food himself. He spoke very vividly about the menu and the wines, so we truly felt we were in great hands. Started with antipasto, which was olives, some prosciutto, some smoked dip. Nothing memorable, really. As a starter there was a cured salmon, gravlaks. Mmm mm mm. Not only was it beautiful, but it was nice and soft and fatty at the same time. For main came a lamb neck tender and soft just the way I love my lamb. We were in heaven. You just looked at the piece of meat and it just divided itself into pieces (now that was probably more of a feeling). When we were just too full to think, dessert came in. It was a mascarpone cream with dried plums. Not very sweet, just very nice and creamy. Very much my type of dessert, but for those that prefer very sweet stuff, I'd say this wouldn't have been pleasing. In conclusion, very lovely experience, both food wise and the ambience. The only thing I would have done that would have given this a 5 instead, is to remove that antipasto, lower the price slightly, and serve it as a three course menu. Regardless, I'll be back for that gravlaks and piece of lamb, for sure.

Yelp
Ate here for a big birthday dinner the other day. So, the place itself is gorgeous. Cosy, contemporary, nice art - it really achieves that perfect balance between not feeling too stuffy but still good enough for a nice celebration. We were given a set menu which was printed out and personalised to say happy birthday to the lady of the hour. The menu is beautifully put together, though we had to get a lot of it explained to us, with some terminology not being overly familiar! Kudos to our waitress though - she was lovely, super friendly and explained everything patiently and concisely. Everything we ate was of a high standard. I tasted the ox cheek which was the winner overall for me. I went for the cote de boeuf with my brother which was a bit of a disappointment if I'm honest. The meat should have been a lot more tender than it was - it was quite tough. If you compared it with the cote de boeuf in The Butcher Grill, you'd taste a difference. It came with crispy garlic potatoes though which stole the show - I could eat buckets of them if I was given them! So. Overall, I would definitely go back to Etto. The standard overall of food was great, the service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed. I'm sure my rating will improve even further when I do too.

Yelp
A fabulous gastronomic experience only let down by the overly noisy ambiance and crammed tables. This place is not to be missed, both the wines and the food are some of the best in Dublin. After my first visit, only a couple of months since they had opened, I was afraid that the standards might have slipped a little, or maybe the food had gone down the same old predictable tastes that most other places around the city centre tend to cater for, but I'm more than happy to report that none of my fears came true. The southern european/Mediterranean influences are still there, coupled with a careful and colourful presentation. They are not afraid of serving non-boring fish here! And they can get the simple things, like bread, exactly right, and pick some good olives and even some more out of the ordinary products, like cecina. They certainly did their research, if you need further convincing just take a look at the wine list. Also, if looking for vegetarian dishes, you won't be disappointed. However, this small brilliant restaurant did fall prey to one of the most annoying things about dining out in Dublin - the rowdy diners. And while this might slip under the radar in other places, it's just impossible to ignore in such a confined space, when you have 4 other strangers sitting less than a meter from you, all trying to make themselves heard over the small groups sitting the other side of the room. Like I said, it's a small restaurant, and they try to make the most of the space. Service is very friendly but sometimes clumsy, and depending on the time of the day/week, it may get too slow to bring out even just drinks. My advice is definitely go and have some delicious food here, make sure to book as there aren't many tables, but avoid weekend evenings.

Yelp
An outstanding and we'll deserved 5. From service which was always geniune and informative to the extrodinary food this place never missed a beat. It's a busy v busy and small dining area but I never felt cramped. The service was great. The wine was extensive and the food was exceptional. Great job no wonder this place is packed

Yelp
This place is my favorite spot in Dublin. I come to town semi-frequently for work, and every time I'm here, I'm hit hard with jet lag and general exhaustion from working and socializing-with-coworkers. This place is the spot I hit up as soon as I'm feeling totally worn out and ready to go home, because it's a breath of fresh air. The food is delicious, the wine is great, the service is friendly, and it's just generally a pleasant place to be. It's wonderful and you should go there.

Yelp
I really don't get the hype! And, I'm not hard to please! To ask that a glass of prosecco is COLD and BUBBLY seems hardly a tall request-- however our glasses were room temperature and flat. Yikes. A bad first impression. And our following glasses of red and white were completely unremarkable. The food was... FINE. Like elevated plane food. If this food were served to you at an airport lounge you'd be like, "Wow! Not Bad!" The lamb shoulder was the only OK thing we had-- not great-- but at least kind of satisfying. However-- dessert was DELICIOUS! Thank God. The prunes in red wine with cream was very special. But... yikes. Lovely staff, though!

Yelp
Very great lunch. We were lucky to find a seat without a reservation. Mussels and lamb was amazing perfectly flavored and well seasoned. Mussels had a unique and wonderful flavor ( lil spicy with sausage and red pepper I believe ). Thisis how mussels should be prepared. Great service.

Yelp
Incredible meal and experience here the other night. We sat at the bar and enjoyed one of the best meals I've ever eaten in Dublin. So much flavor, robust and delicate and tantalising, all the good things. I don't normally eat steak when eating out but the cote du boeuf was spectacular. The man serving us was very knowledgeable and helpful and couldn't have been more friendly. Loved the atmosphere, fine dining served up in a cool and casual environment. Will absolutely be back. And will sit at the bar again, I loved it. Red wine prunes is one of the most surprising and nicest desserts ever. Everything was spot on!
google avatar

Micah C.

Yelp
Wonderful meal here last weekend! We started with the courgette flower and the smoked mozzarella and tomato croquettes. The courgette dish was beautifully presented and was really light and tasty. The croquettes didn't look special but had great flavours. For our mains we had the grilled cod and the lamb. My cod was wonderfully seasoned and so delicious. J's lamb was some of the best we have had in Dublin. So juicy and tender. We also split a side of potatoes which were very nice. To top everything off we ordered the panna cotta as well as the chocolate pot. My panna cotta had a lovely texture and wasn't overly sweet. J's chocolate dish was so rich and really nice. Amazing food and excellent service at Etto. Will return!

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding food, atmosphere and service, in a sophisticated and relaxed environment. And a great wine list. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Sit at the bar, eat and drink lovely wind and food. Unassuming and delicious. As good as it gets for really great casual food. (better than forrest ave)

Yelp
Zomg. Everything I had was beautiful. Kohlrabi Salad. Tuna w avocado mousse. Pork chop. Killer place

Yelp
Truly scrumptious food to be experienced here. Such gorgeous flavours to savour on your tongue from one plate (pardon the rhyme) - the presentation was excellent and varied - maybe if I describe some of the dishes you will know what I mean - eg a starter that I had was Taramasalata, roast beetroot and soft boiled hen's egg, others had mussels, nduja, sweetcorn and fennel, plus balsamic roast carrots with goats curd, clementine and walnut. Main main courses such as grilled cod, chorizo, mussels and chickpeas; smoked ox cheek, pickled walnut and glazed parsnips; cote de boeuf and crispy garlic potatoes (this is a dish for two with an extra supplement). We were give a choice of three desserts - blood orange posset, sorbet yoghurt and ginger bread; bitter chicolate pot, amareno cherries and hazelnut biscuits, plus cheeseboard. As we had a party of ten for a birthday celebration, the restaurant gave us a set menu at a cost of €42 per head for three courses which was quite pricey I thought as extra sides were €4.50 each , however, we did get extra potatoes at no additional charge. While the choice was fairly limited with 3-4 items for each course, everyone enjoyed their dishes as the food was just exquisite and so tasty - reminded me of the classy dishes that you might see prepared and served at a Master Chef Final! The wine was mostly Italian as far as I recall and averaged about €35 per bottle. The restaurant itself is really small and quaint and the staff were lovely, friendly and warm, the only quibble I had was the seating arrangements but as there was so little room that could probably not be helped - the ten of us were all seated on a long table (no of small tables put together) which made it difficult to converse with those furthest away from you at the table. Booking in advance is definitely advisable.

Yelp
Plates pretty as a picture. Super tasty. Warm staff. Prosecco on tap. What's not to like? It's intimate. Not quite accidentally fondling your neighbour's leg, but certainly sharing their personal space. I've no gripe with that, but if you do not like other people, think about a stool at the bar and keep your fingers crossed no-one rubs close. We licked our plates clean. That's meant as a compliment to the chef!
google avatar

Gar B.

Yelp
Etto is beyond doubt one the best places to eat in Dublin, it's fantastic. The food, wine selection and service could not be improved which is what keeps me coming back for more. If you have not visited Etto before, get in here now! Book ahead to make sure you get a table.
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
I'd a really delicious lunch here today. The space is surprisingly comfortable for the amount of seats they've managed to get in. We sat at the bar and it was perfect for lunch but I'm not sure I'd want to sit there for dinner. I had two courses both of which were fabulous and just the right size for a multicourse lunch. I ate here when they first opened and wasn't bowled over so I'm glad I went back and will definitely try it out for dinner again.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Lovely lovely lunch deal. Restaurant is small but excellent. Staff are super friendly and know the menu inside out. Not sure about dinner as it may be a bit cramped but will definitely try again.

Yelp
We were looking forward to trying the food here. When we entered the restaurant earlier tonight the first thing that hit us was the loudness. There were maybe 10 people in there at 8 pm but a row of tables were empty but reserved. We could barely hear the waitperson. We looked at each other and agreed we didn't want to eat in a place where you could hear your neighbor and not your dinner companion. The noise was already deafening and it was 1/4 empty!! We quickly left. I don't care how good the food may have been. It can't make up for a lack of ambience and being able to hear your dinner conversation from across the table. It would make for a poor dining experience. Too bad. The menu sounded very interesting.
google avatar

Corrin T.

Yelp
The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious and very high quality... It's my new go-to restaurant in Dublin. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is sophisticated without being snooty. Thumbs up.

Yelp
We had tried to get into this Italian restaurant a few times but it was always too busy or closed - this time my wife & I managed to pop in mid afternoon on a Saturday (circa 3pm without a booking) and found it quiet - these days it's open throughout the day (not Sundays or Mondays) until late which is great ! Food wise we were very impressed - there was a good variety of some wonderful nibbles to start - we liked the Suppli (deep fried cheese risotto balls) & the Coppa (ham). They have a good choice of small & large plates to follow and we tried one of each - the menu changes weekly - the veal sweetbreads on a nettle pea & bone marrow risotto was different & delicious. The large plate we enjoyed was Malfatti (spinach & ricotta dumplings) with girolle mushrooms egg yolk & sage butter - you've got to put a bit of everything on your fork - the tastes were super & a very filling dish. For desert you have to try the red wine prunes with vanilla mascarpone - it is their signature dessert & believe me it's just one of the nicest desserts we've tasted in such a long time - simply delicious :-) They also have a good wine list to accompany whatever takes your fancy on the menu. The owner Simon is very welcoming & clearly proud of what he & his girlfriend & the chef (who apparently worked in a Michelin star restaurant in London) have set up here. I strongly recommend this wonderful tiny Italian style restaurant to anyone who likes really good quality eclectic food which is both different from standard fare restaurant menus & which is clearly prepared with love & attention,

Yelp
Read about Etto in the Irish Times last Monday and rang to see if anything available on Friday evening. We got a table at the bar at 8pm, was unsure of sitting at the bar, but were very happy when we arrived, we had the last two places at the bar looking out into the restaurant and seeing the food coming out of the kitchen. Everyone we spoke to knew the menu, knew what they were about, really good front of house. The food was delicious, we were not terribly hungry so we ordered the lamb and the Featherblade steak. Lamb is not really my bag at all, but it look very good, cooked pink, excellent veg, well plated. The steak was really good, cooked long and slow, fall apart and full of flavour, served with a very satisfying polenta, lots of flavour. We finished with a selection of three cheeses, all served well, good temperature, good condition. The bread that it was served with was a little dissapointing. An excellent meal, very nice staff, ask for a seat at the bar, its food theatre!

Yelp
My favorite dinner spot in Dublin! Fantastic food in a quaint little spot. Make sure to make a reservation as this place books out. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make this place a great place to unwind at after a long day. Order the Cote du Boeuf ( for two ) and don't forget dessert. Your stomach will thank me!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was amazing. We were casually dressed and still treated as we were going to the theater. It's small, but I prefer to say cozy. Get the Gnocchi. You'd be delighted.

Yelp
A nicely located venue just next to o'donoghues on Baggot street. Buzzing atmosphere around the area on a Friday night. Venue itself felt quite clustered, tables stuck right next to one another so we opted to sit at the bar. Food wise we tried everything appetisers , starters , mainmeals ,side dishes, cheeses, deserts ,wine ,coffee. These were mostly of a high quality standard. A couple of minus points could be attributed to the fact we paid €4.50 for 'meh' olives (out of a big white catering container) and you had to pay for every single addition, i. e. the bread with the fois gras, the side plates (you had to get them with dinner otherwise you would be famished ). The staff were lovely, very friendly ,chatty and acommodating. I think to be honest , we probably should have researched it a bit better , we wanted something cosy and intimate to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this restaurant was not that . If your looking for somewhere trendy, interesting , atmospheric and your not afraid to pay for it - this is your spot !!

Yelp
My and I found this place to be delightful. It is small and they take advantage of every square inch. Romantic and cozy. We started with the tuna crude which was accented with roe and diced tomatoes. A nice beginning. We then both enjoyed the mussels which were excellent with an exquisite sauce that had to sopped up! We finished the evening with cappuccino and dessert of prunes with chantilly cream and lemon posset. In addition to a perfect meal the staff were friendly and engaging. We would be regulars here!

Yelp
We came here in mid January for a belated office staff Xmas lunch. The place is very bijou but has always come highly recommended. The decor is elegant and minimal with some of the historical fabric retained (ceiling) and beautiful simple wooden tables. There were 2 vegetarians in our party (of which I was one!) and we were very impressed with the options for us and we ate just as well and as contentedly as the carnivores in our party! The Jerusalem artichoke starter with parsnip crisps was unusual and delicate to taste, one of the most imaginative vegetarian starters I've ever had. The roasted onion squash risotto that followed was the best risotto I've had in a restaurant - and as a veggie I've had my fair fill of them while dining out! My dessert of bitter chocolate mousse with cherries was just the right size and an appropriately divine end to the meal. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a special occasion. The service was faultless. The place filled up rapidly within half an hour of us sitting down, a testament to its well deserved reputation!

Yelp
Very cute restaurant on Merrion Row. Small and very vibrant and packed. It was pretty much full the entire time, so get reservations. I had two the best dishes I have ever had here: pork chops (came rare which is great; it's always overcooked in US because of USDA) and peanut butter dessert. Would definitely come again.

Yelp
So bountyfully delightful!!! Incredible atmosphere, pretty storefront, great menu (graphically speaking (feel that high grade paper)), nice people everywhere, all kinds of people, charming service and incredible incredible food. The perfect place to go if you love a great dining experience, but feel too happy to sit through a terse tasting menu with corporate suits filling the other seats. Here there's smiley faces and families with granddad taking the bill and young people and people who seem to think this is just a normal (busy) restaurant. And thats the charm!! There's nothing that gives away that this is a great restaurant besides the incredible taste of the food and the great friendly service. Good for smaller groups, and a great place for a date.

Yelp
fantastic good food! lovely staff and delicious wine drinks. The one draw back is that it is a very small space. Next time I am in Dublin, I will return for sure.

Yelp
Etto was by far our best meal in Dublin, if not our entire Dublin / London trip. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was simply perfect and the wine selections solid. We ate at another restaurant the next night ( a Michelin star) for our anniversary, which was a little disappointing and we both agreed- Etto was the real deal! Thanks!!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic little restaurant. Came here one Monday evening in early December. Pretty much had the restaurant to ourself. The staff are engaging and know their food. Our waiter was delightful and offered a few menu suggestions which we followed - and we were not disappoint. I had duck hearts to start followed by cote de boeuf to share. We had a bottle of red Portuguese wine recommended to us by the waiter, which was exquisite. Over all we found it to be very reasonably priced. Definitely represents excellent value considering the quality of the food. Needless to say I will be back many times.

Yelp
Simply put, we had an outstanding meal at Etto. Newly opened this week with some strong inspiration from London, it does small plates of beautifully crafted food. Between four of us, we tried the terrine, gnudi, steak tartare, meatballs, kale, croquettes, potatoes and mozzarella and each dish was fantastic. They have wine and prosecco on tap, and Simon, who runs the place, is on hand to explain the unusual list. A meal for four with plenty of wine came to €164. Get in now before its constantly booked out!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in without a reservation (oops) and we got a nice table on the condition we were finished by 20:45 as the table was reserved at that time; this gave us 90 minutes which was enough for a relaxed dinner. The menu was neither short nor long, and it had plenty of variety. We started with a creative appetizer, vitello tonnato (veal with tuna caper sauce). Entrees were grilled cod with white asparagus and spelt nettle risotta (vegetable risotto). Everything was excellent! Next time we'll make a reservation.

Yelp
Very strong potential and i respect what they are going for. Ultimately they fall a tad short tho, with unnecessary complimentaries that were put on the plate without thinking. Does a mountain of watercrass reeeally enhances the côte de boeuf? The best thing I ate was the tuna starter. Hands down 5/5 but the main course didnt really deliver on the promise of the atmosphere. Still, not a bad experience.

Yelp
Three of us had lunch in Etto today. The menu is so sensible, I think, in that it reduces choice but makes sure that you have extremely interesting and diverse dishes to chose from. We chose a variety and all looked and tasted wonderful. The wine and other drink selection is brilliantly chosen, I think. The coffee to a very high quality. The ambiance a simple joy. Service intelligent and appropriately friendly. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Yelp
Ate there last night with wife Liza!!! It was fabulous as we were just new to Ireland and what a first night out. The food service and quality was 4.5 to 5 star. Nothing we had was so so. We met the owner Liz who was warm, friendly, and smiled a lot . I told her I wanted her place to make a lot of money due to the food quality and preparation. Another woman, who I forgot her name, shouted out "and so do we"!!!!!! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fine food at reasonable prices.. We will return before heading back to California.
