The Best Sushi Restaurants in Austin

"The pan-Asian menu of the Oak Hill restaurant includes a stellar sushi selection, from nigiri to rolls. There are two other locations, one in Cedar Park and the other in Rosedale. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are Uber Eats deliveries; and there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell

EurAsia Ramen - Burnet Road Review - Allandale - Austin - The Infatuation

"From the basic and humble dining room, EurAsia Ramen might seem like a basic fast casual operation, but there’s a short and simple menu of solidly-executed sushi, poke bowls, bento boxes, and ramen. There are around a dozen different options for ramen, with little to no opportunities for customization, making everything feel very intentional and composed. They also use two types of noodles (straight and curly), which certainly means this place takes their ramen seriously. Our favorite bowls are the “Back 2 Basic” ramen with a delicate and light chicken broth, and the richer black tonkotsu signature ramen with black garlic oil. The spicy chicken ramen with a creamy broth and tender grilled chicken is good, too. There are two locations of EurAsia Ramen, one in Cedar Park, and the other in Allandale on Burnet Road. You can also get some of the ramen at their sushi-leaning sister restaurant, EurAsia Sushi Bar & Seafood, in Oak Hill, too. photo credit: Raphael Brion" - Raphael Brion

Google
the staff were so kind and welcoming, and the place was spotless. You can feel the care in every thing , from the dishes to the service. Highly recommended The food at Eurasia was absolutely amazing so tasty, fresh, and full of flavor! Every bite was delicious, and I can’t wait to go back for more

Google
Definitely very good, this was close by and we certainly didn’t make a mistake coming here. Very nice decor and amazing food!

Google
Really love the sushi—the taste and preparation are amazing! I prefer the fatty cuts because they provide an indescribable experience—you have to try it. O-toro is one of my favorites. Overall, a great restaurant!

Google
I found this sushi restaurant while trying to find locations that offer Halibut as it's mine and my husbands favorite fish, and it is extremely hard to find here in Texas. I had been begging to go here for months, and finally, my begging worked. When we pulled into the parking lot, my husband was apprehensive, and then when he walked in, he asked him how much money we were about to drop. The inside does not match the outside, so do not judge this book by its cover. When you enter, there is a beautiful full bar to the left, a sushi bar in the back, where you can sit and chat with the chefs, and comfortable tables and booths filling the rest of the space. My husband and I ordered the Baked Green Mussels and Avacado Bomb to start, pictured below. It was absolutely delicious and not over filling or spicy. For sushi, my husband ordered Bluefin Tuna, Fatty Yellowtail, Yellowtail, Fatty Tuna, Smoked Eel, Octopus, and Halibut, I ordered Salomon, Fatty Salmon, King Crab, Mssago, Tobiko, and Halibut. Every piece was beyond expectations. Our server Andy was kind, courteous, and professional. I was expecting to pay $300. We were not aware of the extensive lunch and happy hour menu. We will definitely make the 1 hour trip.

I went here trying to find a good yakisoba. When I lived in Okinawa I used to eat it every day it was so good. My first time here with my wife. She ordered chicken Broccoli plain with rice and sauce on the side. When her meal came it looked awesome and was really a lot of portions. I ordered a bowl of Miso soup to start. I've got to tell you it was the best I ever had. I liked it because there wasn't a lot of salt tasting in it. I have high blood pressure so this was perfect. I ordered the wings to try them. I was convinced to try the sweet chili sauce. They were really over fried and it was to sweet and sticky. The dipping sauce holder was too small. Overall not a good experience. I ordered the combo yakisoba. It had plenty of ingredients shrimp, chicken, steak, etc...but the taste was really awful. Like cardboard. It had a weird taste I don't know if it was the noodles or had too much of an ingredient but it was not very good at all. I ate the chicken shrimp and steak but everything else in that dish tasted disgusting. Didn't taste like it was an oriental dish.. I definitely won't order that again. No offense. .Or the wings. Maybe next time just miso and will give the sushi a try. Until then the search goes on for a good yakisoba dish. I'd give this place a 3, but since the servers were great and my wife's dish was good it's a 4.

Google
EurAsia offers an extensive menu and delicious dishes, especially the sushi and rolls, with standout items like the fried oysters. Prices are fair, but the vast selection can be overwhelming, with some menu items feeling too similar. However, the service left something to be desired, as it felt rushed and unhelpful. Despite the restaurant not being busy, servers provided little guidance and interrupted unnecessarily. With a bit of improvement in service, EurAsia could truly shine.

Google
The food has always been AMAZING every single time I've gone. They had a gentleman singing live music the last time we went and it was fun.

Yelp
LOVE! Flying Noodle with Chashu (pork belly) Oakhill roll Naruto roll The flying noodle is a great portion, definitely shareable for two people. My boyfriend said the spice on the side is actually spicy and he loves it. (He poured it all in after I was done with the ramen. I think it's better without the spice.) I never heard of flying noodle before so I asked what it was. The server said it's the same as normal ramen except portion is bigger. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised to see the ramen is indeed flying!! choice of meat: chashu - soooo delicious but extremely filling Oakhill roll is great! My favorite is the Naruto roll-it doesn't come with rice and you can get all the fishy goodness I thought the interior looked like a typical buffet place (there actually used to be a Chinese buffet at that location) but the food was really delicious. The owners also own Bluefin Sushi Bar & Ramen, which is also really good. If you look at the story of how they opened Eurasia, it's pretty cool. They share how they got married and started the restaurant

Yelp
Came here for the first time tnight and tried their happy hour which is everyday from 4-630. They have a ton on their HH menu and it's ridiculously cheap and the service is so fast. Felt like we ordered and within a minute it was out on the table. We started with the shrimp shumai which was good but basic - not a lot of shrimp in it. Got the fatty salmon sake which was very tasty Then ordered combo lo mein which was fantastic and downed by the BF. Also huge portion. Lastly ended with the all in one roll (def recommend without the crab stick) and new roll which was good but not great. Will def be back.
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
I have heard about this place and finally got a chance to go. My friend met me for their Happy Hour. The menu for HH is quite extensive. Speaking of extensive, their regular menu has lot of options as well. Our waiter was friendly and prompt. The restaurant has a mix of booths and tables. There is also a sushi/chef's bar. Adjacent to the dining room, behind a wall is the regular bar. It looks like a fun place to hang out. It almost feels like two places in one. I loved my sushi. I got fatty salmon and it was delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of my roll. It was off the happy hour menu. I can't remember the name. ;) I can't wait to come back for another happy hour and to try more things on the regular menu as well. Paying the bill was easy. There was a QR code and I was able to pay using Apple Pay. It was super easy and convenient.

Yelp
We used to be regulars here for takeout, but we took a break to explore other cuisines. This spot used to be one of my go-to spots for sushi, but after today's order, I'm not so sure. While the spicy tuna crispy rice stole the show--super crispy and bursting with flavor, with the addition of strawberry--the quality of the rolls werent like what it used to be. We tried the So Dang Good roll and the New Eurasia Roll. The So Dang Good roll was decent, although I caught a fishy taste that wasn't too pleasant. As for the New Eurasia Roll, it was a awful. The fish inside was unbelievably dry and overwhelmingly fishy, making it impossible to finish. I even tried dressing it up with my own spicy mayo, soy sauce/coconut aminos, and fresh homemade ginger, but nothing could save that roll. Someone else mentioned in their review that this restaurant is a hit or miss depending on the day. Seems like my order was a miss. Note: This review is based on takeout, but we've ordered from here many times before without any issues. Not sure what happened today

Yelp
Extensive menu - great happy hour. The restaurant itself is starting to "show some character" but it is made up for by the staff and quality of the food. Would go again.

Yelp
Top quality and thick Sashimi!! I love it so much. You won't regret at all. Highly recommend this placr

Yelp
We always celebrate our birthdays here. Usually it's 5 of us. This time we brought 20 and they didn't skip a beat. We love the crew. They always make us feel extra special.

Yelp
Wanted to get take out somewhere near by and try something new so this place looked rather promising. They did get my order correct and out in 30 minutes. However, got 3 rolls and a sesame chicken for $91, no where near worth it. Salmon roll- rather fishy and small. Green dragon- as pictured, more imitation crab and avocado than fish. Gritty and rather flavorless. Kind of embarrassing to consider this a chef special in my opinion All in one- no flavor. A lot of imitation crab once again. Had to add eel sauce to eat. Sesame chicken- I would give a 3 stars but the $25 you'd think it would be outstanding quality "rice and veggies," entails 3 pieces of broccoli. I did enjoy this the most but there's better around town. Lastly, you don't get ginger and wasabi with your order but can pay $6 if you'd like some

Yelp
Great food. Timely take out order. The order was correct. Service was kind. The volcano roll was incredible

Yelp
Been to Eurasia restaurant twice now and had a great time each time. Service is always friendly and they have a pretty good variety on the menu for food and drink options. Most recently we tried the "flying" ramen (pork belly), the new takoyaki appetizer, and 2 sushi rolls. Between 2 people this was WAY too much food so remember portions are very good here. I liked the ramen a lot (not too salty), the takoyaki was good, and the flaming tiger roll (on fire) was very fun. We also got another roll that was okay but it was somewhat questionable on what was in the base of the roll and didn't taste quite as fresh. It did take a little while for us to get our check prior to leaving, but we believe our waiter may have changed shifts at this time. Another member of the team found us and quickly remedied the situation & got us to-go boxes (since we had some leftovers we wanted to take). Overall, we like coming here for the quantity and price of food as well as the nice team working here. We always get seated quickly and enjoy an easy sushi experience.

Yelp
Great ambiance, the freshest fish, amazing service (Rikky you're awesome!) I will never not come here! :)

Yelp
Recently revisited this place for happy hour. They have a pretty extensive menu, but it's only a few dollars off the regular price. We ordered a lot, but overall the food wasn't as good as I had remembered it. Portions were very small, and although it was decent, definitely not one of my favorite sushi spots in Austin. But, the happy hour prices are pretty good, I'd say it would be worth it to come back for that.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
Food:5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Wasn't sure about what to expect of sushi in Austin but I'm pleasantly surprised. Bummed I missed the window for lunch menu which lasts until 3pm but I was still able to take advantage of happy hour. Would recommend the black panther roll and the salmon belly sushi! I got to watch them skin and prepare a flounder and they gave me a nigiri on the house.
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Great lunch specials. We enjoyed our bento box and sushi specials. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
First let me tell you that I have extremely high standards when it comes to Seafood and Sushi Bars. It took us a while to find Eurasia, but since we discovered it about 6 months ago, we haven't gone anywhere else! The food , the drinks, all of it is amazing. The service is quick! They also custom order! I have never had a complaint whether it was a slow time or a peak holiday! Fabulous!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Food here is very good as is the service. Very attentive staff. The lukewarm rating is for the live music on the weekends. It's too loud. Unbearable. You can't hear anyone at your table due to the blaring acoustic concert in the back of the restaurant. It's a lot.
google avatar

Evan H.

Yelp
Just ordered through LunchDrop and wasn't impressed. $19 for 11 diced pieces of salmon in pretty small dish. The meal also tasted strongly of wasabi which was not listed in the ingredients. (I'm not a fan) The sushi rice was very good though.
google avatar

Thea R.

Yelp
I love this place! We swung by for dinner since we were in the area. What a great decision! They had live music the night we went in and a delicious Chinese + Japanese menu! My favorite was their Hawaiian Poke! It was so so so good! The orange chicken and oyster fritters was amazing too! The service is great! We had a friendly waitress that always made sure our drinks were full. I would say this place is more of an Asian fusion versus Japanese sushi spot. So keep the vibe expectations around Asian fusion.
google avatar

Gem T.

Yelp
Spicy geisha roll, blank panther roll, salmon nigiri were really good. The flying noodles with chashu pork belly was the bomb.

Yelp
This was my first visit to the southwest location, and it did not disappoint! It's a casual restaurant in a strip center by the Y at Oak Hill. We went to try their happy hour and I was surprised to see how many option were on their happy hour menu. I ordered the house Chardonnay and he ordered a beer to start the night. They were about $4-5 each. We ordered two creamy dynamite shrimp hand rolls, two creamy crawfish hand rolls, the 'So Dang Good Roll', and the spicy yellowtail roll. All of the rolls were delicious and even better combined with the happy hour prices. Hand rolls were about $3 each and regular sushi rolls ranged from $5-9 each. The bar area was separated from the main dining area by a water feature wall. We ended up sitting at a high top in the bar area and the bartender was consistently checking in on us and had good recommendations. There was a singer last night for entertainment and I was surprised how good she was! Overall, we really enjoyed happy hour at Eurasia following a long work week!

Yelp
I left the place saying to myself, "I should have went to the Pho restaurant next door." I was the only customer in the building between 11:45-12:30p. I thought that was strange since it was in the middle of lunch rush hour. It's more of a fast food/help yourself establishment. They didn't have tea and some of the sodas on the soda dispenser were out as well. Service was meh, but ok. The ramen was bath warm when brought to me and the dumplings were barely warm as well. Everything lacked flavor. The establishment seemed clean, but I wasn't a fan of the two restrooms being co-Ed.
google avatar

Rick P.

Yelp
We always eat at the bar. First off the dumpling soup is made fresh when you order. Then they have many types of rolls and some Indonesian dishes. It's amazing the diversity of the food!
google avatar

Agent M.

Yelp
I love their bento box. It's a decent quality. Love their high packaging designs too, overall service is satisfying level. Their bento has a good amount of food you can enjoy.

Yelp
The only thing that was good was the spicy edamame. Got the following: -Yaki soba combo: Noodles overcooked and were in broken pieces. No flavor. Skimped on the sauce. -Sushi roll: I can't remember the name but it was slathered in sauce and the rice was mushy. It was a mess. The sushi at the grocery store is MUCH BETTER. This roll cost me $20! -Mixed tempura: Batter was SOOOO THICK. The oil was too hot. It was overcooked on the outside but when you bit into it the batter was sticky and doughy. -Gyoza: So overcooked. I tapped it on the plate and it made a clinking noise. -Miso soup: No flavor at all. Skimped on the miso. Server wasn't friendly, engaging, or anything. He was hating his job or was having a bad day. Let me clarify engaging. Asked questions about items on the menu and he didn't want to explain. Like we were a bother. Gawd..... this is THE WORST Japanese restaurant I've ever been to.

Walt E.

Yelp
Good variety of fish. Large well-prepared rolls, good nigiri. Traditional, American, and their own recipes. Cooked seafood dishes are varied and tasty. Good happy hour and lunch deals though dinner will not break the bank. Efficient kitchen and preparation keep the food coming. The staff is helpful, generous, and courteous. What's not to like?
google avatar

Lucy F.

Yelp
For the price point, the sushi is pretty good! They also have noodle dishes and a few other options if sushi isn't for you. We go here for a weeknight "we're craving sushi but don't want to shell out too much $$" sort of meal. The ambiance is a mix of sushi restaurant meets sports bar meets live music from time to time, which can be a little overwhelming, but tucking yourself in a booth can help with the overstimulation.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
We just got here from Hawaii and we wanted some great food. We saw this restaurant and gave it a try. Excellent food, service, and presentation.
google avatar

Travis W.

Yelp
The room ambience is great and the food is wonderful. Service is prompt and accurate Try the noodle soup and any sushi choice.
google avatar

Larry E.

Yelp
Once again an excellent delivery! It was faster than expected, hot and well packaged. Very well done as always!
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
We ordered takeout, so this is purely for the food and not the restaurant/service. I'm just happy there's some good sushi near me! They have so many options, and everything we had was made very well, and without skimping on the fish (especially the rainbow roll!). The fish was surprisingly fresh tasting, too! Prices are a little steep, but their are options for less expensive options, too.. such as the yellowtail roll that's pictured. Overall, if you're in the area and want sushi, I'd definitely recommend trying them out :)
google avatar

Pat T.

Yelp
We love sushi. Great food and atmosphere- live music with a guitar playing- very nice
google avatar

Warren N.

Yelp
They messed up my lunch order and gave me the wrong roll. The cool thing is they corrected the order & made me the right roll & let me eat the roll that was wrong while I waited (free of charge)! I was pretty hungry so I benefitted from this inconsequential mistake. They were cool about it, and I hope they don't think I was playing games. This seems like a really chill place to lounge later in the evening. The food is solid and it looks like a great place for a happy hour or date or something like that. I live in the area and will certainly be back! I will add more to this later.
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
This place has ambition. It's like a grocery store collided with a sushi restaurant that also had ramen and Chinese dishes. Good stuff. It used to be a little more tightly run--I suspect that they got screwed by Covid, as did the rest of us. Not as nifty and polished as it used to be and some of the signature drinks I used to love have slid out of the radar. Great ramen presentation though, and fun rolls! And hopefully things will circle back around consistency-wise. Giving this the 5 star because you know how it works here :) Also--I am not a restaurant expert.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Great place, friendly staff. Food is outstanding and very responsible priced. The lunch combos are excellent and a great value.

Russ I.

Yelp
Exciting menu, first class sushi bar, very attentive service. Go for happy hour. They seem to do a lot of take out. I like sushi and bento boxes.

Yelp
Was interested in trying this restaurant because I had heard good things from a friend. The service is good - everyone is very polite, kind, and attentive. The prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour. We spend around $25 a person for the food (not including drinks). The food is fine. We ordered a few salads (house, seaweed, and squid) and they were all good. Interesting that their house salad is more like an Italian salad (romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, house-made mozzarella, and a balsamic vinaigrette). The selection of sushi is pretty slim - no traditional tuna nigiri (they have spicy tuna nigiri, which is the chopped up tuna, rather than the slice of tuna on top of rice), and no eel (either anago or unagi). Three of the four rolls we orders looked almost exactly the same, except that the fish was different (hamachi, escolar, crab) - the rest of each roll was pretty much identical. I probably would only order one of the rolls in the future. The restaurant itself is quite casual and family-friendly. There was a live musician on guitar singing and playing, which was pleasant. This restaurant is quite far from our house, and I would probably only return if I were in the area. There are sushi places closer to where I live that are really excellent (albeit much more expensive). It was a pleasant evening with our family. Thank you, Eurasia.
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to give the restaurant a try for lunch while taking a break from playing our grandkids next door, and we were pleasantly surprised. Very good service and food, would happily go back for another meal.

Yelp
Sushi is very fresh and tastes amazing! Recommend the garlic edamame and the tuna on fire! Chris, our bartender/waiter was awesome!!
google avatar

Holmes O.

Yelp
Chris runs a wonderful establishment here. The food was excellent & fellow patrons were awesome. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Glenn R.

Yelp
We've been eating here pretty regularly since they first opened. They have some nice Happy Hour Specials. One of our favorites is the Cherry Blossom, a crisp shell with spicy tuna in it. The crawfish hand rolls are unusual and tasty too. We've enjoyed consistent fresh tasting food here every time. They're generally pretty busy. This is one of the better sushi restaurants around.
google avatar

Madeline A R.

Yelp
So good! The sushi was amazing and the portions were large. Everyone was happy with their food! I got the spicy yellow tail roll and it was to die for. Also the tempura egg plant special was really good too!

Russel E.

Yelp
The food is decent but overpriced, but the service is amazing. The ambiance is typical of a sushi place.

Yelp
My bf and I are usually turned off by Asian Fusion restaurants. This place had sushi, Indonesian food, and Greek salad. Super random, right? A group of 4 of us shared a couple appetizers: shishito peppers and pan fried dumplings. The shishito peppers were actually spicy, which had bits of crispy garlic and chili flakes on top. The pan fried dumplings were crispy and thick, but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered 3 sushi rolls: -spicy salmon roll -spicy scallop roll -spider roll All of them were absolutely delicious! Presentation was on point. My favorite was the spicy scallop. The spider roll wasn't fried in traditional tempura batter, but some sort of bread crumb instead. It was quite interesting, but still delicious. My bf also ordered smoked salmon nigiri which tasted really fresh. A friend of ours doesn't enjoy raw fish, it was his first time trying nigiri and he enjoyed it! We also ordered the chicken flying noodles. We thought that this was stir-fried noodles but it's actually ramen. The presentation outstanding. The noodles were floating on a fork with chopsticks. The grilled chicken was glazed with a sweet sauce, but I liked it! The broth was tasty as well. Lastly, I loved that they had flavored sake, and it wasn't overpriced. We ordered the lychee and passion fruit ($10 each for a large). The lychee one takes the win - it was sweet but light. Service was pretty good, our server was attentive and got us what we needed. Overall, we were really impressed with this place. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
We were quite happy to find this sushi bar .... Let's face it they are everywhere these days. The appetizers were very good and raw fish was very fresh. Next time we are in the area we will go back!

David H.

Yelp
I've been stopping by the Eurasia restaurant in their convenient location at the hwy 71/290 intersection for at least 5 years now, mostly for a quiet lunch, sometimes for dinner with friends. I'm a sushi fan, and theirs is consistently the freshest & best in the area. They continually innovate their recipes with new combo's, and their fish is always delicious and super fresh. If you like more exotic (for us Yankees) dishes, their Indoneasian creations are extensive and delicious. Their service is also top notch at all times.

Matt J.

Yelp
This has become a new frequent sushi spot for us. Staff is always super friendly and helpful! The sushi is sooo amazing! They have a great menu and there's definitely something for everyone! A must try!

Yelp
The restaurant was slammed when we arrived (95% of tables seated with two waiters and one support). I open with this as sympathy, and the reason why I'm giving two stars instead of one. We ordered soups, appetizers, stir fry's and a collection of sushi rolls. Across the board, everything was very basic. The miso soup was thin, bland and could have easily been rehydrated from a pouch. The stir fried chicken had bits of chicken so small, it almost seemed "pulled", and the broccoli was over cooked and soggy. The sushi rolls were especially disappointing. The entire sushi menu had about the creative scope of the sushi offering at H-E-B (sauce heavy, lots of basic fried and packed with fillers like cream cheese). To top it all off, despite sitting patiently waiting for about an hour and a half across the entire service with three young kids, the waiters offered no apologies or explanations. Again, I have empathy, but by the end 90% of the tables were empty, and we still had to wait 20 minutes to get the bill. The one saving Grace was the extremely polite bus boy. He could barely speak English, but worked his heart out and was full of "please" and "thank you."

Kathleen P.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant for years!! They have the best and freshest sushi in South West Austin! Service is very good and attentive. We are life long customers.
google avatar

Curtis G.

Yelp
Stopped by today for lunch. I ordered the sashimi combo. The combo was ho-hum - the salmon and tuna tasted fine, the other cuts didn't taste light and fresh as expected. There are a number of other options in the area that are better choices...
