Where To Eat And Drink With Your Coworkers Because Team Bonding Has Taken Over Your Life - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Building security figured out that you’ve been propping the roof access door open with a La Croix can, so now if you want to enjoy the fresh air at high altitude, it’s going to have to be somewhere else. Shrug off the shame of getting caught by going to Everdene in the Virgin Hotel. This place is bigger than most rooftop bars in the city, so your whole team can fit. Plus, it’s got great city views and is in SoMa, so you won’t have to go far to get here." - will kamensky

Yelp
Props to Dawn D for being an exceptional server for our late night hang. My team has been staying at the at virgin hotel all week and we went here every night. Its a bit pricey and one would expect top notch service but on most nights it was like take your order and disappear then bring your food and drinks the. Never see again until you go to bar to pay your bill. Dawn however came by at least once an hour to check on us, see if we needed anything, kept water cups filled. If all servers were like her this place would be great. Its a bit costly but the food is good, the views are amazing with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the music isn't too loud which makes for an enjoyable setting for team downtime after a day of meetings.

Yelp
This spot is in the virgin hotel. It's not a hotel restaurant. Staff was extremely pleasant attentive parts of the restaurant. Have a very nice ambience. The areas with the couches are cool. The dining room is a little bit sterile. What you would expect actually from a hotel restaurant. The food is decent about average. They're very accommodating to allergens. I have a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate quite easily. They have a decent brunch menu. On the dinner menu the steak frites were actually the best thing. Their fries are delicious!!! (Worth every calorie) I wouldn't come across town for this but worth a visit if you're staying here.

Yelp
Rooftop spots appeared to be the birthday theme this Summer of 2024. And Everdene located on the 3rd floor of the Virgin Hotels NYC didn't disappoint. What service! All employees we encountered were so fun and pleasant. We had a feeling of, 'happy to be there!', during every one of our apps and drinks indulgences. Shout out to Alex our welcoming, lovely hostess. And can't forget a well deserved shout out to Mr. Smooth, chill, fashionista himself Calvin. Loved both their vibes. Food choices. Excellent! The Hummus was one of the second best, non grainy, creamy textured hummus's I've ever had. The accompanying Pita topped with Z'atar, freshly baked, with warm light layers to scoop the hummus was an elevated combination of flavors. Of our selection of Salads, Apps, Desserts and Wines, there wasn't one bad choice. An additional plus was the night time terrace view of the Empire State Building (ESB), looming directly above us. It was especially memorable when the hourly LED Sparkle Lights displayed a flashy five minute show. The ESB was the ultimate special guest at our rooftop party. Everdene at the Virgin Hotels NYC is definitely on our rotation list if ever looking for summer fun in the NoMad area.

Yelp
Massively overpriced for very average food by NY standards. A very small kids bowl of plain pasta was $25. So many other better places to eat within walking distance.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast and brunch. My mother and I came to NYC a few weeks back. We dropped in at Everdene for brunch while we wait for our room at the Virgin Hotel. It was incredible. Great service and food. To top it off the hot sauce was fire! the hot sauce was made and curated by Chef Freddy. I hope they eventually bottle and sell the hot sauce.

Yelp
Jordan and Willington took exceptional care of my friends and I. This was my first time at the lounge and I was blown away. My friend has thrown 2 birthday parties in a row here and Virgin continues to deliver! From the drinks to the lighting and decor, Virgin knows how to curate an ambiance. I will absolutely be coming back.

Yelp
I was a hotel guest at Virgin Hotels, so it was convenient for me to eat and hang out at Everdene. There is a good amount of variety on the breakfast menu, and I went with the scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and hash brown patty....because I love hash browns. The hash brown patty is like real hash browns - crispy and in a patty shape. I also had a lunch snack at Everdene and had the tuna tartare along with sautéed mushrooms (my two separate orders, not an actual menu item). The tuna tartare was tasty, and, in both situations, the service was generally quite quick. There is a lot of seating outdoors, making it a great place to have drinks or eat when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Rise and Shine for a delicious morning breakfast at Everdene inside Virgin Hotel NYC on the 3rd floor! The space is so beautiful, and we really enjoyed the food and service. Breakfast ends at 11am, but the restaurant still serves breakfast items at lunch (thank goodness!) We shared the classic Eggs Benedict with a side of greens, Matcha Waffles with condensed milk (must-order!), a side of Smoked Faroe Island Salmon, and a Petit Fruit Salad. Everdene also has snow globes in the terrace of the restaurant, with minimum spending of $200.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice here. The almost paradise drink is amazing! Love rum and a good fruity drink. A lot of bathroom stalls here which is great. Good amount of seating

Yelp
Customer service is good. Staff was very friendly. Beautiful ambience. Surprisingly, the food was great. And fresh. Seems a little pricey.

Yelp
Came here for the Lunar New Year event and so the review might not reflect the quality of the usual food here. However, the offerings for the event were DELICIOUS and I have been thinking about a few of the items every day since! Service was also superb! The servers were very attentive and made sure we were having a good time. I would want to come back and try the normal menu!

Yelp
Great place for drinks and conversation. The atmosphere is really chill, especially if you're with good company. It's definitely a place to revisit with friends.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday event, which he had a section reserved in the outdoor section. The bar is arranged where you can order from the inside of the bar or outside on the terrace, which makes ordering a bit difficult. Bartenders will usually focus on one side and forget the other side. Besides that, the specialty cocktails are really good. I tried the Beach Towels and 2808 Miles, both $19 a glass. Recommend trying either or both, depending on what kind of drinks you're into.

Yelp
This is a great place to bring a few friends for drinks. Everdene is a rooftop bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is in the Virgin Hotel, so it can be slightly confusing to find since there are no signs for the restaurant. It's also on the third floor of the hotel, so if you're looking for wide-sweeping views of the city, you won't find it here unfortunately. However, you do have great views of the Empire State Building. The food and drinks are pricey here. We paid $19 for three empanadas. The $40 Salami & Cheese Board had lots of variety, but it's not good for sharing with a large group. I think the board is good for no more than 2 people. The drinks are not heavily boozy, so keep that in mind considering their high cost. The service wants attentive as I would have hoped for a restaurant of this caliber. However, that may have been a one-off due to our server and not a reflection of the restaurant as a whole. From my observation, the service was better in other areas of the restaurant. That said, I would return because what the Everdene lacks in affordability and service, it makes up in views and vibes.

Yelp
My debit card was lost (likely stolen) and the staff did not care at all. This is an insanely overcrowded and overpriced faux rooftop - do yourself a favor and go to literally any other rooftop in the city. You aren't missing anything here. Trashy food, overpriced and extremely subpar drinks, terrible service and again, massive overcrowding and understaffing. Avoid at all costs!!!

Yelp
Went for the cutest Yappy Hour event and it turned into our fun wine night. It's a brilliant idea to have these adorable furry friends all hanging out on the terrace while the owners enjoy their food and drinks. The cocktails, wines, and food were all great, and we appreciated the restaurant seated us indoors with the dogs while it was getting cold outside. The live music was graceful and enjoyable in the restaurant. I hope they will host the other Yappy Hour soon!

Yelp
The Everdene Restaurant at Richard Branson's Virgin Hotel is decorated in their contemporary corporate red and inviting. The restaurant is in shades of blue and white and serves a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. There is a selection of olives, burrata, empanadas and squash soup for appetizers. Entrees vary from hamburgers to branzino. Desserts is a selection of silken pies in a variety of flavors. Take a rocket ship to Virgin. In case someone wonders about the name Everdene it comes from a character in a Thomas Hardy novel. Of course the lobby area and terrace are good places to eat and drink as well.

Yelp
A great place to celebrate a birthday! They took really good care of us. The drinks and food were good, love the ambiance and service. Shoutout to Mamun for making our night amazing! Pro tip: make reservations especially if you have a large party. They have a long table which was perfect for our party of 8!

Yelp
This place has horrible horrible service if you stay at the Virgin hotel, I would advise you to stay away from this place. We put our order in and sat around for about an hour. The waitress came back and told us that she had put our ticket in, but they didn't receive it. So she wrote out a new ticket sent that in. We finally got our food about 30 minutes later and then sat around for about another 45 minutes after eating, our food, waiting for them to come and give us our bill. It's like everyone was trying to avoid their work duties. I guess customer service is not one of the top priorities at this restaurant. Would not recommend it's not worth it.

Yelp
Great food and the atmosphere was great. Very cute place! Service was lacking. We waited probably 15+minutes to be acknowledged at the table and have our orders taken. Overall decent experience but we also didn't receive drink refills and had to ask for our bill. Several wait staff just standing around.

Yelp
Newest hotel rooftop bar in nyc! Ambiance of this place is SOOO cute with great views, including the Empire State Building I would totally come here to just chill at the lounge. They also play really good chill house music. The interior design is However, drinks here are not that great besides the mezcal/tequila drink. They felt rather watered down. Taste really good tho, just not sure how strong they are. The biggest con would be the Service: service was really slow, takes quite a long time for the drinks to be made. Overall verdict: Totally recommend this place!

Yelp
Sat outside, we had a nice view. They gave us free champagne to start. We had the charcuterie board, it was delicious! I had the salmon and my husband had the branzino. Both were delicious and pretty healthy, we had pavlova for dessert and it was sooo good! The drinks were delicious as well! The space is really beautiful. I'd definitely recommend it!

Yelp
My partner and I decided to try a new spot on our way to grab some KBBQ and we were so happy we did! everdene is the epitome of cool vibes and not too pretentious Manhattan hotel bar. Their beer draft menu is on point and all of their cocktails (which look delicious) are named after songs from their record label - which is fun and creative (on point with Richie Bs brand), and price point is reasonable. The staff is incredible and knowledgeable about the drinks and venue itself. Shout out to Marcus who was a pleasure to chat with and apparently a pool hall king. Will def be back again to try out some of their cocktails and outdoor views (once warmer)

Yelp
I hate leaving negative reviews but seeing as someone else has also had their card go missing recently, I wanted to note that my card was also lost (or stolen) despite being left with a bartender! I accidentally forgot to close my tab the night I went (meaning I left my card with the bartender). I called when I realized late that night but the bar/restaurant # doesn't work; the next day I was able to reach the hotel front desk. I was told that security would have my card, but when I went to pick it up, they didn't. I went up to the bar and waited like an hour while they looked for it and the mgr contacted the person who served me. Still no sign of my card. I would totally get it if I left my wallet on a counter or something careless, but the bartender literally had my card. One star goes to the bar staff and manager who were all pretty nice in my experience. The drinks are decent and the patio view is really nice on a sunny day, but losing someone's card is a bit scary so I would unfortunately not recommend coming here!

Yelp
Cocktails were high quality. We got a watermelon margarita and an old fashioned. Breakfast was matcha waffles which were the best and not overly sweet. Side of scrambled eggs - cooked perfectly. And breakfast bowl of quinoa, egg, avocado, and hummus. Ambiance was great as well.

Yelp
Just landed in Nomad with swanky space a bit like the Electric Lemon. There is a bar and outdoor space is poised for hotness in the warmer month. Ate and drank: Seasonal vegetables fricassee $11 Interboro beer $9 Seasonal veggies were very good. Prices seem in line for the neighborhood and next time I will try more food, in the meantime we have the Ritz Carlton the Ned and now Virgin all landing in The Nomad and that is exciting for NYC. Joey the bartender rocks!

Yelp
A pleasant surprise as we wanted a breakfast spot late morning and the place we walked to was a ghost! Our new search pointed us towards the Virgin Hotel so we thought we would give it a try Good call! The service was great, ambiance was clever and had the Virgin Vibe The prices were in line with what you would expect at a fine hotel restaurant in NYC I'd go back and bring friends!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Reservations were easy to come by and also easy to change online. They knew it was my friend's birthday and they left her a personalized card on the table when we arrived. So sweet of our waiter. The place is spacious, inside and outside. Service was really good. Didn't have to wait long for service or for what we ordered. We ordered the scallop ceviche, the fried calamari, the branzino, and tagliolini. We enjoyed all those dishes. The fried calamari is really good. The pasta was cooked ton perfection and the branzino was a good size. We did not leave hungry. For dessert, we ended up getting the chocolate chip cookies and the white chocolate with raspberry jam. Get both! The cookies were warm and gooey. The white chocolate with raspberry tart had the perfect sweetness. Check this place out for a nice view, good cocktails, and good food. I will be coming here again, especially for happy hour. Price is average for the area.

Yelp
Visiting the hotel during a business trip and decided to enjoy a drink. I was a bit surprised how expensive the tuna tartare was compared to the serving we were given. The service was good and the location is absolutely amazing.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was just ok but overall loved the experience. Sit outside if you can

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner-Thursday eve in OctoberUsed the pulsd deal which was a good value and no issues . Had live music which was a nice plus. Odd start as waited several minutes by reception table before anyone greeted us and a line formed.Anyway food underwhelmed a bit-burger mediocre at best , salmon good, kale salad good, desserts average. Drirnks were all pretty good. That said..best part of Everdene was our waitress--Dawn--just super friendly, helpful and helped make a birthday special--DAWN is the main reason I would go back!!. Bathrooms good too btw.

Yelp
Food is great, love the ambiance and the beautiful setting and the service is polite. Also dog friendly for all my pup parents out there! The burger here is consistently delicious and the fries is one of my faves in the city

Yelp
Everything is spectacular from our experience. We spent a few hours from day to night and it's extremely well thought out and stimulating. Exceptional service, good ole burger and fun crowd. The view is amazing and it's spacious and comfortable. I'll be back and highly recommend it for a day or vacation.

Yelp
The decore is cute but the carpets were filthy. Food was really good and beautifully prepared but the service was terrible. We ordered a soda, a water and a martini, plus two appetizers. The food came out before the drinks and we had to flag our waiter down multiple times to ask for more water, napkins, our check. The place was so empty but we definitely weren't a priority.

F S.

Yelp
I ordered a pizza. Kitchen took over two hours. And this is what came out. And tried to charge $25! This must be some joke - or Everdenes response to inflation. NYC, you have been warned!
google avatar

Joelle G.

Yelp
Great drinks, nice ambiance. Bartenders are nice, but slow to serve. Huge error: no hooks at the bar to hang bags of any sort, yet electric plugs. It's okay. Not amazingly amazing, but not bad.

Rinah S.

Yelp
I made reservations for 7 guests to celebrate my birthday, expecting a decent dinner. Venue was great, host was nice and friendly. From there, after we were seated turned to a nightmare. Our "waiter" was stoic, not a greeting in sight. Barely got our drinks on time. No plates, no utensils, no apologies!!!! Charcuterie board was bare. For $38. Dollars My guests had to get utensils, napkins and beg for additional bread, $2. extra btw. My experience on my birthday was an unhappy one. All of us worked at food and beverage companies, this was very disappointing to say the least, especially in NYC. We can't leave the restaurant fast enough at this point. Hopefully someone got a better experience than we did Do better, be better Money not well spent.
google avatar

Yelp
I only stopped in briefly for drinks and a light late night snack with a business associate. We ended up staying for HOURS! Even though they had a very busy party come in, we didn't feel any less waited on. The cocktails were delicious and the appetizers really hit the spot!
google avatar

Evelyn N.

Yelp
While Everdene was super spacious located on a higher floor of the Virgin hotel, the food was just nothing special for the price point. We had a group of 11 people to celebrate a very special friend's 30th. We were accommodated at a large table in the back of the dining area with great city views and away from other solo or smaller party diners. The ambiance was dim and set the tone for the night, everything looked clean and polished. However, I must say our servers gave us "first day of work" vibes, just slow and but clumsy even though there was basically no one else at the restaurant. Moving on to food... we were barely filled up. The portion of my salmon and rice was just not $35 worth. Although flavor was good, I expected better presentation or larger accompanying sides with my main protein. The guys that order the strip-lion also said their steak was under-seasoned and a little dry even though appearance wise it looked like it was cooked well. The starters we ordered for the table like the calamari, small charcuterie, salad, can all be skipped. Like the $20 salad came with 6 pieces of lettuce..just nothing special and not worth. We also brought a cake and were told there will be a fee. FINE I get it, we are a large group. But then there's an additional CUTTING cake fee where if we didn't want to pay, we will have to cut it ourselves. ‍ it was just every little thing, extra charge. The waiter that brought out the cake was also confused whose birthday it was when we specifically told them where the person will be sitting... probably won't be back. There are definitely nicer restaurants in the area worth your buck.

Yelp
This space is so cool. The drinks are amazing. The views are awesome. I thought the food was great. The only thing that is somewhat annoying is that the service is bad. And it's not like the typical - everyone is understaffed - type stuff. The restaurant was mostly empty and there was a lot of staff there.
google avatar

Nat P.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing food from start to finish! The ambience and service were also amazing. The staff were were so more and welcoming. I would definitely come back!!

Toni S.

Yelp
Everene on our first visit to the dining room was a horrible one! There were no servers to find anywhere and when we finally looked everywhere and found one we had to beg to get a drink! Then to order food, not easy to get her attention. After waiting a very long time it arrived, surprisingly good but it didn't make up for the early experience, I shared this with management and they suggested we returned and they offer some free drinks and appetizers and said service was much improved. So last night we returned, definitely better service but the music was so LOUD that conversation was impossible and they said couldn't change it. Too bad great outdoor space and beautiful dining room.

Samantha J.

Yelp
amazing experience!!!! I highly highly recommend everyone going here! we came for brunch and sat in the igloos outside, such a fun time. the staff was incredible, made us feel like family. the food was soooo delicious. will definitely be back soon!!!
google avatar

Yelp
It's a nice, large space with an outdoor deck. There was a good 1920s-style jazz band playing (inside) which brought us in. HOWEVER, service. Servers seemed more like day hires who had never waited tables and were just sent out on the floor. If they'd had more than fifteen minutes training, I'd be surprised. Cocktails (Manhattan) was very sweet, and not at all strong, and though I like small coupes, the glasses were only about half filled. The Manhattan had four syrupy cherries. So disappointing. No cocktail napkins under glasses. So, you're here for entertainment. If we return we won't be having cocktails. Oh! I almost forgot that the postcard included in the bill folder was dirty and had writing on it. Nice.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of going back to my former "house" at the Virgin Hotel's "Everdene." We had a blast, my friend Gavin and I! Thanks guys for welcoming us, Dawn, Marc and Jordan and the team... We enjoyed fabulous cocktails and food! I am wishing you total success! Jenny Laboriel

Yelp
Encountered the RUDEST bartender I've truly ever interacted with at this bar (in the upstairs with a semi private event). He was rude to multiple people in my party and it had no end. Someone like that should not be in the service industry.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for Mother's day brunch, the view and vibe was really nice. Food was decent, on the smaller side, came with drinks and flowers for $50 a person - so value is great. Overall pretty good experience.

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Stayed at hotel and came down for breakfast. The food was so bad. Trust me do not order the pastry basket- two mini croissants and a side of jam for 16 they were stale on top of that. The rest of breakfast was just as bad.
