Been coming here for years. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly, professional and have been the staple of this location. The chili cheese fries are the best around. The chili cheese burgers are to die for. The fried zucchini and avocado burgers are loaded with flavor. If you’re looking for a pastrami loaded with pickles and lots of yummy flavor, this is definitely the place to get one 10 out of 10 totally recommend.

I’ve been coming there for years and I’ve never got any chicken that looks like this y’all sound be ashamed of yourself. It was my wife’s first Time there and I bragged on how good the chicken was and this is the chicken you gave me. I probably won’t be back there ever again. I can’t even eat this so basically you just robbing for my money. It’s OK. I’ll be back by there tomorrow.

I will miss you forever, Everest. You've been my family's favorite spot since I was a child. The "taco on a plate" you'd make special for my brother meant a lot. Thank you for everyone who worked here. I hope you rebuild.

We went on a Sunday afternoon. It was not crowded. My wife had a carne asada burrito and I had the broasted chicken. They were both very good. We have come here many times and we have seldom been disappointed.

Decent burger and fries. Wide variety of menu items. Breakfast burritos, mexican, sandwiches, sides, burgers, and smoothies. Onion rings could have used more flavor, but ok. Pretty big portions. Large fries were more than enough for us to share. Might go with a Jr. burger if I make it back since my regular cheeseburger was large for me.

If you go to the jack in the box across the street you're making a big mistake... The game time fries (pastrami chili cheese fries) and a avocado bacon cheeseburger is what I reccomend if you happen to stumble into this local treasure.

Today I get my luch from Everest when I open my taco I found a piece a plastic glove when I call them to let them know about the incident They didn’t care much about it

The service from the lady at the counter is even worse than the food. This is saying a lot given how disgustingly stale the two day old onion rings were. We tried one and threw the whole order in the trash. Frankly I'm shocked people go here when there are so many other affordable and delicious options available in the area. Altadena is filled with wonderful mom and pop restaurants that provide friendly service and family recipes. This place is not one of them. Avoid it like the plague.

Unfortunately this place burned down in the Eton fire. Hope they rebuild. Friendly customer service, nice easy menu and good food.

Food is decent but the prices have are high. Bathroom is around the corner. Fried zucchini and burgers are your best bet.

I ordered a grilled cheese and ham sandwich. What I get was a piece of cheap white bread, a slice of processed ham and some a small amount of processed cheese. $7.99 for this. Ridiculous.

The lady cashier tried to overcharge me for fish and chips. She wanted to charge me $17.99 when I clearly know that that is not a surprise cause I buy from the Everest in La Crescenta all the time

Good, well dressed burger. Nothing fancy, but very satisfying. Pleasant counter person who deftly handled the multiple orders without stressing out. Zucchini fries were tasty too. Interior was simple and timeless. Decently full, but didn't feel crowded.

It's been ages since I was here, but stopped in today and discovered they make a really good Garden burger. Yummy fries too.

In all honesty would rated it even zero stars out of five. You don't really expect much from a mom and pop place in Altadena, but considered this place because I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. When I looked into what to order the guy at the register seem to be upset to answer any question I had in regards to the menu. I ordered for takeout and simply got a chicken sandwich that was nothing special and when I asked for ranch. The man who took my order was quick to tell me that it was a 50 Cent charge extra mind you I didn't know this because he never offered me sauces before completing my order. I didn't mind paying the extra fee except he told me that his Apple Pay was not able to process a 50 Cent charge. So I let him know that he should definitely let his customers know about this extra charge before completing any transaction, just for future reference. To which he replied "well you didn't let me know and you didn't ask." I then asked him if he wanted his customers to return and he responded no. Customer service here is trash will never be returning.

The burgers are really good, decently priced, good portions and value for your money. I am always greeted warmly and they have never screwed up any of my orders, which by the way, are made fresh just for you. I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food at a reasonable price.

I love their breakfast burritos, pancakes and grilled chicken sandwich. I haven't tried anything else but I'm sure they're great as well.

I have been getting food at Everest for more than 20 years. It has always been good quality and the service good. BUT when I ordered pickup a few days ago I ordered my favorite item, carne asada burrito. The meat was gristly and tough, about 1/3 of it was not even edible. The pieces were not minced as usual and one was about 3 inches long. I waited a couple days to call, because I didn't want a refund or another item. I just wanted to let them know in case there was a new supplier or cook. The poor quality of this item could cost them customers, so after much thought, I decided to let them know. The man who answered the phone was extremely rude and castigated me for not calling the same day or the next, even though I said (or tried to say many times) that I didn't want anything other than to let them know. His words and tone were combative, and he kept interrupting me, over and over and then finally he hung up. I am writing this review because his behavior was unacceptable, especially when I tried to make it clear that I was doing this so they would be aware of the problem.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! If possible to give this place no stars, I would have. I'm writing this review as I'm sitting inside the restaurant because it's just that bad. First of all, the food has absolutely no flavor. I ordered a carne asada burrito, fiancé ordered a breakfast sandwich but was given a breakfast burrito instead. Honest mistake, but the food was not seasoned whatsoever. The Kearny Asada did not have any seasoning, it was so bland. The eggs didn't even have any salt on them. We also ordered a small zucchini fries and they were not even crispy, just soggy. You could tell they were taken out of the fryer too soon. On top of an already terrible experience, they had strange animal TV playing that was showing baboon butts during our meal. Great television to accompany a meal. Also, they have a B. I'm really truly shocked that this place is even still open. Someone come shut it down.

The breakfast burrito add all meat and the chili fries are my favorites. They also have a really good pastrami sandwich.

Everest is good but their fries and onion rings taste like fish. Seems like they fry all their food in the same oil. Their burgers are phenomenal. I feel like I'm in a time warp when I am inside here, strange energy. The workers are always very friendly, regardless!

This review is long overdue. I started coming here for about 2 years now and the only thing I ALWAYS get is their chili cheese fries and ofcourse their smoothies. But lets start with their customer service, seeing other people's posts about their customer service on how rude they are I guess it varies on a day? Because every time I order there or phone order for pick up I have never had an issue with the workers there. It's always been the opposite for me. I admit they don't smile often but never have they been rude or seemed irritated when I order they were always glad to help w/ my order. Onto the food. I always get the chili cheese fries for two reasons only. They are SO good and for serving size, they give you so much! I have never seen a large size of fries in a huge box! That can feed about 2-3 people! And their small is in those basic small containers and even then it still takes about 2 people to finish! Ever since I was brought to this place, I have my expectations high for chili cheess fries from other places. Also, I do love how their fries are fresh cooked and its not those thick cut fries. They're the thin super cripsy fries and those are the only type of fries I like.

Been coming here for over 10 years. Always great food and they never mess up your order like a lot of other places do. Food tastes great. Fast service. My go to would be their cheeseburger or pastrami and their onion rings. Really delicious

Food is made fresh daily. Chilli cheese fries is so delicious Money well spend. Great for families or anyone who is looking for a cool place to sit down and eat

I have been going to Everest for long time and it one place that hasn't changed much which is good food.

I owe Everest a review for quite a while now. They have been feeding me, breakfast and lunch for the past 6 months. There are many words that I could use to describe their services, I am going to keep it short and straight to the point for the ease of users. 1. Breakfast burritos -- very consistent, good quality 2. Lunch melts -- It is yummy 3. Salads -- green, fresh, hearty, and LARGE portions They are pretty quick on their services, and they take phone orders.

So, I haven't been to Everest Altadena in a minute, pre-Covid more or less.Today, me and a friend decided to give it a try and we both ordered the pastrami sandwich, with a side of onion rings. The sandwich and the onion rings where okay. My reason for giving this experience a 1-star, is because of the selected customer service that the young man taking the orders displayed. At the time we were there, less than 5 customers where dining in. We were gestured to come and pick up our order...while two other tables had their meals walked to their respective tables by "said" young man. Another group came in and placed an order and they too were gestured to pick-up their meal. Common thread...we are POC and the others were not. When I asked the young man, is there a standard on who gets food brought to their tables and those who are prompt to pick it up from the counter, he is like no...so, then why didn't you bring the food to our table? Dismissive, he waved me off like whatever. So, manager and/owner, pull your tapes and look. SHAMEFUL. My money will never be spent in this establishment again. 2024 and nobody has to spend their money for less than service...this place is Definitely not worth it!

Figured it had been long enough since I came here. And like the owner said in his comment he hopes I give it another try. Came here this morning on a Sunday, guy at the counter is still a rude A Hole!! The parking lot was empty and the breakfast thank goodness was the same. Words of advice to the owner; the people at the counter are the first people your customers see, they are the face of your business and in turn will drive customers away. Didn't you learn that in business 101? I will overlook a little quality in the food for friendly customer service. FAIL on today. Got to Lucky Boy on Walnut Ave the women who work at the counter are always smiling and happy to serve you.

I hate to have a slight slip and slide Burger. I don't like sloppy burgers. Well I can say the people were really nice

At 10:20am they don't have any decaffeinated coffee??? Ok, How about starting a fresh pot??? True they may not sell the rest of the decaf the rest of the morning but at almost $3 a cup I'm sure it's worth keeping their customers happy. If I come in here again and there is no decaf it will be the last time I come... Lol., the decaf coffee wasn't even for me... it was for my girl friend. Now she might be edgy the rest of the day...

Love Everest but this location is disappointing The salsa sucks both red an green the burrito bland . Service was whatever Definitely making the drive to Santa Clarita for real Everest .

Have ordered their Jr cheeseburger combo and it is consistently good. I've only been here twice, but love that I found a great place in Altadena. My husband tried their chili cheese fries which he said was also good. Can't wait to try their other food items. I always order online and their service is always fast.​

Use to be tops. Ordered chili cheese fries and it wasn't like it used to be. I grew up out here so it was disappointing. The fries tasted like they sat out all day. The chili tasted old. Didn't have the jalapeño carrots. Even my fountain drink tasted old.

Fast, convenient in upper Altadena. Descent food with generous portions. I tried the gyro with lamb it was good. I usually get the breakfast burrito which is also really good.

I was driving home from a long day at work. I was thinking what I wanted to eat. I haven't been to Everest in a very long time. I was greeted by a young lady at the register. I ordered Bacon cheese burger & Onion rings. I live about 10 mins away. Soon as I got home i opened the bag. The food smelled & looked very good. The burger had No Taste & the Onion Rings tasted like they were just re-heated. Super hard and chewy. Took 2 more bites out of the burger and in the trash it went along with the Onion Rings. I will not be going back.

I love the breakfast burrito here as well as the lamb gyro and onion rings. Great customer service and fair prices

I have been coming to Everest for well over 20 years and my absolute favorite thing about this place is its consistency and dependably great food. I almost always get a turkey sandwich and every time it is packed to the rafters with meat, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. My husband always gets the fish sandwich and they don't skimp on the hearty portion of tasty fish. The same kitchen crew has been there since I was in high school and this truly is a wonderful neighborhood joint - thank you for years of great food and friendly service!

I grew up around the corner from Everest and it has been a constant in my life for decades since it was still a tops. The food is great and the staff are kind.

Burgers 3.5/5, salads, 3.5/5, burritos 2.5/5. Service 0/5. It's close to work but the owner gives is rude af makes me not want to come back

Went there yesterday for a quick bite. Unfortunately it wasn't quick, it wasn't fresh, it wasn't cheap and wasn't good. I will never go back. Nearly $14 for an avocado bacon burger. No fries or drink. Really disappointed w the wait prices or food. The salads looked good but I already had ordered. The staff is in slomo.

I've worked close by in Altadena for nearly 20 years and would frequent this place. The last couple of times the quality of the food has really gone down. A couple months ago I had the pastrami that I made me sick to the point that I had to call in to work the next day. Figured they may have had a bad batch of meat. This morning I ordered the chicken breast on rye with a side of zucchini. After a couple of bit the chicken had a really bad taste and the zucchini was over cooked to the point that just a bunch of pieces. Needless to say... had a good run but will no longer return!!!

Quick easy and delicous dinner for the family and the chili cheese fries are 10/10 but there big enough for 2. things here are never not tasty the burgers are simple and reliable

I live nearby and have been patronizing Everest for many years. For the price point, the food is great. The turkey burger here is truly a hidden gem. No turkey burger on wheat has any business tasting so good. The only times I've been unhappy with the food were a few cold nights where I gorged myself on too many chili cheese fries. But that's on me. Can't blame the food for being too delicious.

Great burger for the price. Our children love the chicken strips/fries box and frequently split it. It's a lot of food and very fast.

Very, very disappointed as we have been to their other locations in the past. We ordered a hot dog, avocado bacon cheeseburger, an order of zucchinis and a large soda for the hubby and me, I asked about their COMBOS and was told that every item on the menu sold separately, NO COMBOS, NO SPECIALS anyways, the hotdog bun was dry and hard and the hot dog was rubbery. The cheeseburger bun was soggy and overall just a bad burger, the only good part of it was the bacon and avocado. The place was clean, but empty and the staff was ok Well I guess that will be our last time visiting this location

Was in the mood for a burger so I stopped by. Got a regular burger combo. Sorry but I didn't like anything there. Burger had little flavor and the fries are like in n out rip offs. Soda was flat. Guy taking my order was talking about another employee in Spanish, which I understand. No the best impression.

I went to Everest approx 2 weeks ago and got a sausage breakfast burrito, it was well proportion and tasted good. As I sat there on that Saturday morning I noticed that they also had a pastrami breakfast burrito. So this morning 7/25/18 I went to Everest and got the pastrami breakfast burrito, what a big disappointment it's now almost 7pm and I'm still looking for the pastrami that failed to show up on my burrito the burrito was much lighter then the sausage burrito. I should have had them cut it in half prior to me taking my order to go and I would have seen the strand of pastrami on the burrito, 8 dollars down the drain. I will never order that poor excuse of a pastrami breakfast burrito again. Hey Everest GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER........ Sincerely, One Pissed Off Customer

Just fine burger joint in the neighborhood - with friendly service, tasty burgers, fries that you can even order without salt and they really come without salt. Have been going regularly during covid - ordering on the phone, and picking up, and never dealing with unruly crowds and the staff is fully masked with smiling eyes. Thank you, Everest, for being here in Altadena.

Being new to the Altadena area, me and my family decided to check out this place. Especially, after reading some rave reviews from our nextdoor app. I figured the locals would know where the hot spots were at. So upon pulling into a dark and empty parking lot, I was surprised yet happy because I assumed that we had come a little early before the friday evening rush or something. We walked into a very out dated dinning room and a sour puss looking man. (I'm assuming he was the manager because he had a different uniform on.) He seemed so annoyed that we were reading the menu board for a while and weren't prepared to order. I explained that we had never been there before and his reply was "oh okay!" There was no suggestions or anything from him. At one point he even took a step back and crossed his arms. It felt so rude and he just seemed so miserable to be there. My gut said to walk away or play the part like I forgot my debt card or something. But then my kids started saying what sounded good to them. So we ordered and decided to take our food home because a transient had walked in and began shouting and disrupting the atmosphere. (Totally out of the restaurants control) So we decided to take our food home especially since we live only 2 mins away, if that! Granted the burgers looked great but man it was like biting into a darn salt tablet. Soo... salty! My kids couldn't even eat their burgers. But we all agreed that the fries we're very good and for that I'll give an extra star. I felt bummed because I completely wasted our money on visiting this restaurant. If I do ever decide to go back it'll be to try out their breakfast burritos. (Hopefully there will be different cooks in the morning.) But the biggest turn off was for sure the manager and lack of customer service.

Call your order in. It will be ready right on time. Best customer service. Do not sleep on this restaurant. My favorite thing at this restaurant is there fried zucchini. Good food is a good MOOD

The cheeseburgers are excellent! The sauce they put on them is tasty. Not sure what it is but it goes great on the cheeseburger. Me and my family like to go there for a quick bite when we are in the area. The guy behind the counter is always nice and courteous and they are prompt with the food. The fries are good too. I th ok no lol try the chili cheese fries next time.

Perfect chili burger and great hospitality and they play live sports on Tv what's not to like!!!
