We found this restaurant wonderful. Servers were kind and attentive and completely unpretentious with our questions about why the spoon had a dent in it. We enjoyed a lovely anniversary meal here and appreciated the variety without excess portions and the traditional touch of amuse bouche and sorbet before dessert. I love this style of traditional French cuisine and wish it always to prosper.

In one word: OUTSTANDING. We've been lucky enough to have eaten here twice, and both meals were absolutely fabulous. Service could not be better, wine selection is great, cocktails superb, and the food? Ooh La La! After our meal, we got to meet and speak with Chef Jean Joho, and pass on greetings from Paul Haeberlin in Illshaeusern, France. The view from way up is spectacular, looking to the west, but the tables adjacent to the windows seem to be booked further ahead than we make out plans. Otherwise, I'll let these photos speak for themselves.

Excellent eye-popping food with excellent service. Check in with security in the lobby for entry to the elevators to the 38th floor, where you change for the elevator to Everest on 40. Nice view facing west on a sunny day. Food was paced a bit slow for the sampler menu relative to the tasting menu, i.e. the table behind us ordered the multi-course tasting menu and their dessert arrived at the same time as ours, having ordered the three course sampler menu.

Celebrated my wedding anniversary here this past weekend and have to say the food was loaded with flavor. Tastebuds were going crazy. We decided to do the 7 course tasting... absolutely delicious! Although it is hard to choose, the foie gras and smoked salmon were my personal favorite. It was unfortunate we didn't get a window table or even a view of a window. The photos of the restaraunt are a little misleading as you may assume every table has at least a view.

I've been to the best Michelin starred restaurants in the world and this doesn't really compare. Me and a friend went to eat here today and for the most part the experience left me in particular unimpressed. I've been in the fine foods industry for about 5 years now and I've been hired to review tasting menu's for other restaurants around the world. Everest though in a beautiful location leaves much to be desired and has me wondering if the Michelin Guide was misplaced when awarding this place a star. Although the food was creatively prepared which is normally the case in these types of places it was by no means astounding or even remotely memorable. There weren't any particular dishes that really stood out and made me say yes this reminds me of France. The cheese was never more than 4 months old and the zinfandel we ordered had a misprinted date on the menu. The zinfandel being from 2012 should have not even been on the menu as it was quite young on the palate and most definitely should have been aged at least another 2-3 years. Dishes overall were so so in flavor and even after making specific requests to the dishes they were not met. The sugar in the desert was abnormally high for a French restaurant and the bread was not served fresh. The salmon was fresh and tasted good as well as the farm fresh eggs but again nothing that said hey come back here again to try this! The duck was very raw and hard to chew, surprising because that's what they were known for. Phil Patel a food critic in Chicago gave raving reviews about this place but I think the high praise shows a true lack of understanding for a true Michelin dining experience. Especially as my own waiter said "excuse us we're having a sloppy day." Almost unheard of in a Michelin starred restaurant and yet he seemed to be comfortable with saying such a obscure thing. Our waitress and chef's knew nothing of the origin of the ingredients and after $400+ Bill for 2 people I can hardly say it's justified. Mediocrity that was on display tonight should never be seen at this level of supposed mastery. I for one will never come back here again unless some dramatic changes are made. As I explore other places in Chicago I worry the city is not up to par to NY standards. Despite this my love for food forces me to try the best available. That doesn't mean it will always be at a Michelin star restaurant but my disappointment tonight is a stark reminder of how labels don't necessarily represent the expected quality.

Fantastic French cuisine. We enjoyed the lobster, fois gras (best I have had!), and scallops for starters. The duck was outstanding. Excellent service and view of West Chicago. Highly recommend.

A marvelous dinner at the 40th floor with an awesome view on the city. It is a Michelin starred restaurant with fresh delicious food and "savoir faire". My mother and I got an excellent friendly service from all the staff. We also appreciated and were honored to have the visit of the Chef Jean Joho.

Our view was excellent and the menu had a large variety of tasty options for each course. Lisa was our main server but the entire staff provided top notch service and attention to detail. The lobster soup and sea bass were phenomenal.
