How to Plan a Ski Trip to Big Sky Resort in Montana

"A wooden-cabin fine-dining destination perched at 8,800 feet on Andesite Mountain (just off the Ramcharger 8 lift) that serves lunch, dinner, and après shared dishes against panoramic mountain views. The restaurant moved from four- and six-course tasting menus back to a la carte service mid-season; menu highlights include warming chili and bolognese both made with bison, wagyu, and pork; steelhead trout in a grappa-infused butter sauce; and a popular wagyu burger on a pretzel bun. Reservations are required, and dinner bookings include lift access." - Nina Ruggiero Nina Ruggiero Travel + Leisure Senior Editorial Director Nina Ruggiero oversees T+L's award-winning travel content across digital platforms. The new chef from Atlanta and his new menu really brings an elevated menu and executes it at a high elevation. We had the pleasure of being served by Abby who was knowledgeable and helpful. I wish I could try all of the dishes. That being said, for the price, the lighting is too bright. Also, if you’re paying for a prix fixe menu, it’s a mood killer to have a bunch of kids and parents come for a hot chocolate at the bar after the enchanted forest walk. It’s not intimate enough and the people at the bar not enjoying the food really kills the vibes. They should section diners off from the bar to give them higher priority over people just buying drinks.

Celebrated our anniversary here while at Big Sky. Service was spot on. Location was great right at the top of the mountain. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. They also had really nice cubbies when you walk in for all your ski gear. Food was absolutely delicious. Get the caviar if you can.

This place embodies everything you’d want from a mountain restaurant. Incredible views, cozy vibes, and good food. Fun and unique dinner for family or friends

We love big sky. We enjoyed Everett but with the fixed menu it’s just ridiculous. Most of the food I did. It want to eat desert was fairly basic all for mandatory $155. Service was great. But I do not want to spend 155 for cheese a hamburger and a basic dessert. We ended up getting a bottle of wine and going else where.

Google
Atmosphere was great. Service was okay. She wasn't too attentive to our drinks. They would have sold more if she checked on us once in a while. The food was horrible. Dumplins were croquettes, but good. My pumpkin soup was cold. Had to send it back. I got the lobster ravioli, and it was cold as well. That was reheated as well. One person in my party got the steak, and another one got the duck. They were both happy with their meals. All in all I wouldn't recommend. They removed the 2 lobster raviolis that we ordered from our check but I much would have rather paid and got a decent meal.

Google
Everett's used to be such a special place when it opened but sadly it's gone down hill ever since and is no longer worth the money. They've packed so many tables in to the dining room it's hard to get around. The music is insanely loud and felt like we were in a club not a mountain side restaurant for dinner. The food was bland and cold and really not worth the money even with the amazing view. They would be better off sticking with some cozy, simple mountain classics like chilli etc. It's really unfortunate as the staff is awesome and the building and view are stunning.

Google
High end, borderline fine dining, reservation required. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. Definitely pricey, but I felt it was worth the quality of the food and the service. Plus the chairs were super comfortable. Got the truffle fries, cauliflower sando, linguine with chicken breast, Ora King Salmon (bomb) and the soup du jour. Would highly recommend.

If you like long lines, no food orders at the bar, preferential treatment for having made reservations upfront, and a $17 draft beer, then this is the place for you.

Yelp
Major disappointment . While I get that dining on the mountain comes with a premium, the quality didn't come close to justifying the insanely high prices. I ordered the $40 wagyu burger, expecting something substantial, but the meat was barely larger than a slider, and only topped with sauteed onions. Friend 1 had the chili, which was not only slopped into a bowl with no cheese or onions, but the portion was ridiculously small--definitely not enough to fill you up. Friend 2 went for the lobster and crab sandwich, but it was more like a basic club than a high-end seafood sandwich. Friend 3 had a salad. It was dressed well but was basically just lettuce - no option for a protein. All portions were way too small for the price. Not worth your time or money. Message to restaurant: You are feeding skiers--they're expecting something filling, not "appetizer" sizes. On a positive note: the wait staff was really nice and attentive.

Yelp
Everetts is absolutely stunning. The location is unique and welcoming. It is a luxurious yet cozy restaurant on the mountain. If you've never been here highlights on the menu include the burger the club and the pierogies don't skip out on the sherry mushrooms as an appetizer. They are absolutely lovely.

Yelp
We love to take visiting family to see the Enchanted lights and then stop at the Everett's bar to grab a cocktail. But the bartender was as unfriendly as they come, we had a party of 7, and his interactions or lack there of, made us decide to leave after the first drink. Sometimes staff doesn't belong where customer service is needed. And the cocktails were not that good. We stopped at another bar where they welcomed us with friendly smiles and great cocktails. I'll write a great review for that bar..
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Delicious wagyu burger but the rest of the menu is underwhelming. The focus is more on the food presentation than the taste of the food itself. Very pretty and fun place to eat on the mountain.

Yelp
I do recommend this place for the views, the French onion soup and the hot toddies. It's a lovely rest stop and beautiful place to take a break while skiing in the mountains. Like every restaurant at Big Sky, it is overpriced and food is not worth hundreds of dollars for some soup and a drink. This one I would probably recommend because of the views and otherwise cook your own food at Big Sky by all means.

Yelp
The new menu was amazing! Great execution on all the items in our six course tasting. Our favorites surprised us: the burrata & beats and the turbot en croute! Serving the burrata on pesto was creative and playful, and the turbot was technical perfection: the crispiest we'd ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we had a window seat with a beautiful view of the mountains. Well worth the price and time out of our ski day.

Yelp
My group of 5 had a great experience at Everett's! Our server Jenny was great and checked on us the perfect amount. Food came out at the right pace for an unrushed meal. All our food & drinks were delicious. They were running low on 2 entrees but everyone in our group had a great meal. My one slight critique is I had the pumpkin gnocchi: they tasted amazing & I'm glad I ordered them, but they were a significantly smaller dish than any of the meat dishes my group ordered, so I was finished faster than the others. Yes it's an expensive meal, but we all felt it was worth it. Especially since you can stroll the enchanted forest included with your lift ride!

Yelp
Waited out front right as they opened at 11 AM, and was the first group of 4 in. Had no reservation and asked if walk in was available. Hostess said sorry we are fully booked but you can have drinks at the bar. I open my phone and go to open table and there were tons of reservations open right at 11:15 AM and on. I booked it right in front of her and said sorry we just can't see the availability on our end. Then, we sat down excited for the non fixed menu they had gotten such bad reviews on, when ordering, I wanted to get the market greens salad and asked if I could add a protein. Waiter said sorry we just made a change to our menu a week ago and we don't allow that. Who doesn't allow a protein to be added to a salad??

Laura C.

Yelp
Had lunch today with my husband and three sons. We've been going there since they opened. They turned into a prefix menu. $155 or $255. Your only choices... kids were starving after we left...not worth it, we will wait till they revamp before we go back. Service was great ambience amazing but not worth $1000 bill for five people for lunch for three hours ‍ and no food. I asked the manager about the new menu and she told me to hit Montana Jack's. Maybe this was not where we belong. terrible. I am local and it was very disrespectful. Had a reservation for three more times this week I canceled all of them.

Yelp
It's very unfortunate they changed their lunch menu to only 2 tasting menu, one being $155 and the second being north of $200 per person. Per the workers, they are switching to 'fine dining'. Not sure if service as slow as a snail and food that does not even compare to the price they are charging is 'fine dining'. We loved coming here when they had an a la carte menu where we can just pop in for a quick lunch and drink (still pricey). Just too bad and very disappointing. At least get the service right and have the food up to par with the $$$$ they charge. Also, they charge people who are not skiing $45 to get on the tram to get to the restaurant which is a bit ridiculous IMO. I won't be going back anytime soon nor will I be recommending this place to any of my friends.

Bill S.

Yelp
Wonderful location, but the limited menu and high prices while understandable in some respects really make this less than a value for the money. Stopping in for a drink while skiing and enjoying the spring time balcony is fun. The atmosphere is really good and the staff is generally very upbeat and helpful. I've been there several times and my only disappointment was that the quality of the food does not match the pricing.

David K.

Yelp
Insanely overpriced and underwhelming! 2.5 hours for a 4 course meal that was incredibly lacking. We left hungry and spent $691 for two. Not worth it, don't do it. The concept is a bust. I have never been so disappointed! I have it 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars which is what this trap deserves!

Yelp
Besides the great skiing, our dinner at Everett's was the highlight of our Big Sky trip. To get there you take the heated ski lift to the top of the mountain. Once there the views and ambiance are great. We arrived a bit early and the hostess suggested we tour the enchanted forest which was a great and fun addition to our dinner experience. My wife had the lobster ravioli which I was hesitant about since Montana isn't know for seafood but we both agreed it was the best we had ever tried. I had the duck cassoulet and I can't speak highly enough about it. Overall one of the best dinners and overall dinner experiences we have ever had.

Yelp
Fantastic four courses and wine pairing! I had to leave a review because I was shocked to see so many bad ones. Food was amazing. We particularly loved the hamachi crudo, gnudi, burger and hazelnut desert. Service was impeccable too! Meg was our waitress, and she did a wonderful job of explaining our options and making sure everything was to our liking. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Big Sky!

Yelp
First of all, I am extremely afraid of heights, but my family are all skiers and convinced me to board the Ramcharger 8 and get up the mountain. I prepared for this for days in advance doing guided meditation and breathing exercises. I convinced myself that if I attempted this extreme challenge (for me), I would deserve the best meal of my trip to Big Sky. Was I wrong... My oysters were fresh and sweet until I found a tiny little live crab moving around in my oyster. I guess that means they are fresh oysters, but it makes me wonder why they weren't cleaned better. I sent the baby crab back with the waitress who said that this had happened before. Hmmm... On to my steelhead trout meuniere minus the meuniere sauce. The trout was overcooked and was doused in a "mushroom ragout" which was supposed to come on their burger, not the fish. My sister-in-law also ordered the dish and had the same problems. When I asked the server about it, she said that that is how the kitchen serves it. I explained that a meuniere sauce is a brown butter, lemon, and parsley sauce. She proceeded to bring more of this hunter's gravy (German Jager gravy) for us, but neither of us liked or wanted it. After everyone was finished eating (we all left food on the plate and all left disappointed), I explained to our server that the fish was inedible for me and the s-i-l. She took the plates away, and eventually a manager came to the table to bring us complementary meringue cookies and asked if we wanted to replace the fish dishes. The kitchen was already closed for the evening, and we had two kids to get home. We just did our best to eat off other people's plates and get out of there. (Yes, the kids have a refined palate for food like this.) The manager took off the two fish dishes, but, MAN, was I disappointed. I had anxiety for days and a half-panic attack going up the mountain to get a live tiny crab in my oysters and a few bites of overcooked fish (so, no entree). Well, at least I won't have to conquer my fear of the Ramcharger 8 ever again. What a waste...

Yelp
Probably the best restaurant we've been to at the Big Sky Resort! Great experience, delicious food, and what a view! I recommend booking in advance. If you do though, you'd have to book with your credit card -- there is a $25 per person charge for no shows and cancellations within 24 hours. For starters, we had the Morel Mushrooms - red wine cream demi, baguette, $25. I highly recommend trying this if you like mushrooms. The morel mushrooms were deliciously cooked and the red wine cream demi was spoon licking good! The baguette was nicely buttered. This dish went well with my glass of wine -- Paul Achs, Blaufrankisch Heideboden, Burgenland 2016, $17 on the menu, but $19 on my receipt?! (The wine by itself was too dry. I prefer a full bodied wine for sipping). Other drink we ordered was Black Forest - Sudden Wisdom Rye Whisky, Chocolate Bitters, Blackberry, Blood Orange, $18. I recommend this cocktail! So good and not too sweet (don't forget to mix before you drink!). For soup, we had: Elk Chili - Chive, crème fraiche crouton, $10 (for cup). I thought it was odd to have chili under soup section, but it had more of a thick soup consistency that the usual chili I'd expect. Unfortunately, I didn't get to taste this, but was told it was good....a bit salty, but good. French Onion Soup - onion, shallot, beef stock, crostini, raciette, $16. Good soup. For entrees: Waygu Burger - Brioche, tomato bacon jam, arugula, raciette, house sauce, fries, $30. I didn't get to try this, but was told it was very good! 8800 Grilled Cheese - Brioche, confit tomato, frisee, smoked cheddar, raciette, prosciutto, fries, $22. An elevated grilled cheese (see picture)! Filet Mignon Au Poivre - Brandy cream, root vegetable, confit fingerling, $65. Good tasting Filet Mignon. I asked for medium rare, but should've asked for medium. It was too rare for my liking. The root vegetable was good too, but was a bit undercooked for my taste. Fingerling was good as well. For dessert, we shared a Chocolate Torte - toasted meringue, hazelnut crumble, raspberry sauce. Very good! Not too sweet nor heavy (but then again we did split it 3 ways). Service was great! Ambience with the view was memorable! I highly recommend at least trying this place once.

Chad C.

Yelp
The "Wagyu" burger was a joke....cafeteria hockey puck! Cold bun, cold fries and literally grade C burger meat. The Onion soup was fine, the Bison chili was lukewarm and so so. The 8800 Club sandwich (Lobster/Crab) was drowned by avocado and underwhelming. I expect high prices on the mountain, but good food in return. 8800 did NOT deliver and needs to reassess the food execution. This does not hold a candle to the food at other top notch mountain resort restaurants in North America.

Kurt H.

Yelp
They need to bring back the old menu. I visited with my wife and daughter, who were both exhausted after a tough morning on the mountain. They needed rest, and I didn't want to make them put their gear back on, but I wasn't happy about paying $155 for a four-course lunch. Each course was barely more than a single bite, and the girls didn't even want dessert. It was a terrible experience. Plan your day carefully to avoid getting stuck here at noon with no other options.

Brad W.

Yelp
What are you thinking?! Bring back the old Everett's. Prix Fixe menu/pricing is stupid. Restaurant mostly empty.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
Best dinner we've had out in a while! Each meal was so tasty and the lodge was beautiful! Staff was thorough and professional! 10/10 experience!

Debra D.

Yelp
So disappointed in the lunch options! Who wants a 4 course set menu $155 p/p lunch on a ski day?? I can see this working for dinner (especially for the tourists) but definitely not for your (past) loyal regulars! A la cart was offered today, but my three bites of the trout entree did not fill me up. On a positive note - Bailey was a wonderful server.

Michele T.

Yelp
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! long story short, we had reservations for 13 ppl, left before even ordering. online menu said "choice of soup or salad" with entree. Manager said they stopped doing that and wouldn't honor it even after showing her online menu. her excuse was, that was the marketing departments mistake. she let 13 ppl walk out the door (estimate of bill for 13 ppl we expected to pay $2000) over soup and salad!!! after that, i realized she didn't care about our dining experience, so we took our money elsewhere. If your looking for high end dining, look elsewhere. penny wise, dollar foolish Everett's 8800. your restaurant didn't need $2000?
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
High-end restaurant at the top of the 8-pack lift at Big Sky. Being the host here has to be a terrible job, since your main activity is turning people who don't have reservations away. We thought we could outsmart this by lining up at 10:50 the next day, just to find out that they had closed the high-top section. Thankfully, we grabbed the last three seats remaining at the bar. The food is really good, and sitting in a bar with 0 noise at your back, due to the empty high-top section, is pretty special. They need to put up a sign outside to keep people informed of what's going on here. We saw so many frustrated people who had already started taking their gear off before approaching the stand. Shouldn't happen this way.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
If you are looking for a bougie lunch on the mountain this is THE place and not to be missed. You must have reservations (or be willing to put up with a wait of more than an hour). The big picture window framing lone peak is amazing - so impressive and jaw dropping beautiful. The setting is light wooden beams with elk antler chandeliers and classy decor all around. The cauliflower sandwich is meh, but the grilled cheese with prosciutto and garlic Parmesan fries is delightful! Burger also excellent. We also had the apple strudel for dessert which made us extra full but was worth it! Service is friendly and professional. The restaurant is at the top of the Ramcharger lift which can take pedestrians, but is designed for skiers and boarders. But note, you're eating mid-mountain so don't be surprised if it's cold on the way up - it's Montana!
google avatar

Nik I.

Yelp
First and foremost the waitress the hostess and everyone at the front working is amazing. Nothing to do with them. The place is built on top of the mountain you would think they built a heating system capable of heating it and they failed miserably. Every person in that restaurant asked for blankets- it was embarrassing. Imagine shivering being uncomfortable and paying premium bucks! Also the food was ehhhhhhh. The rib eye was good but the potatoes were stale, the lobster ravioli was not even hot and the pasta was crumbly and stale like with no flavor. The huckleberry CRUMB CAKE. Was a gallon serving of huckleberry jam with a table spoon of oats... I'll leave it at that. It was terrible.
google avatar

Jennie T.

Yelp
We had a reservation for 13 people. They set up tables for 10, so we were packed like sardines. We asked for an extra chair, which was a hassle for the restaurant. Then when we asked about salad, the server said "we can throw something together in the kitchen." We left before ordering. If they want to charge $80 for a dish, we expect better service.

Lindsey H.

Yelp
Good food but expensive and a waste of time. Took an hour and 45 mins to be served a cup and bowl of soup, a grilled cheese and some french fries. Extraordinarily slow service. You can't be waiting people's time like that at a ski resort. Especially when lift tickets are around $200. Not sure if if they were short staffed or what. Our waiter Issac was very nice. Food was alright. Great spot if you don't like skiing.
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
I don't believe there was anything that we didn't love about Everett's 8800! Who doesn't appreciate the touch of adventure involved in riding a lift to a gorgeous restaurant on the mountain, knowing you get to snowboard back down afterwards.. The view was spectacular and the cocktails were on point. Even the leek & wild mushroom soup with crispy onion garnish was unique and wonderful. But THE highlight of our visit was our server, Laurel. So much so that we came back the next day! She was the perfect combination of professional, attentive and personable. Laurel is a true asset to any establishment priding themselves on customer service.

Yelp
Great mountain spot with a stunning view. We went back a SECOND time!! Make a reservation in advance (can book through open table, but if you call they might have more availability.) we didn't get in when we stopped by without one. Read a lot of review about service issues--that was not our experience AT ALL! Our server Rachel was not only attentive and informative, but took the time to check on us and crack jokes. And our second time our server Maggie was amazing and gave us great menu recommendations!! Now for the food.... DRINKS: -- Coffee 88: coffee + sweet cream + bourbon, very good DIY style drink. -- Cocktails: my father said his Negroni was top notch and so was the mule! MUST HAVES: -- truffle pecorino tots with baconaise: SO GOOD -- ultimate Swiss grilled cheese: it has raclette 'nuf said -- Turkey club: sweet and savory -- trout BLAT: amazing stacked sandwich! GOOD, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL: -- Quinoa and eggs: larger than expected, good flavor SKIP: -- French onion soup: it was not fully covered in cheese?? DESSERT: SKIP COMPLETELY -- Profiteroles: good flavor, BUT not flaky like traditional profiteroles, way too crunchy -- Zookie: skillet cookies are usually soft and gooey, this was crunchy and underwhelming I still give them 5 stars for the view, service, entrees and drinks, despite the desserts because at such high altitude I know baking is much more difficult. Recommended!!

Yelp
This place was delightful. We got the steak, it was delicious! Our waitress was very kind and polite. Our other waiter, Greg, was very fun and informative about the food and drinks. The location and view were beautiful! This restaurant was the highlight of our trip, other than skiing. Although, the Bistro Burger is not a good pick for kids because of the Gorgonzola, everything else was more than satisfactory. The prices were spendy but everything was worth it! We had so much fun here!

Todd W.

Yelp
Awesome place. Well worth the price just for the experience and history. Dress warm if it's windy!
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Came back two years later - now they are only open over lunch. We had to make our lunch booking 3 mos in advance. We were able to ski in, and the nonskiiers in our party were able to ride the lift up (after obtaining a lift ticket for non-skiiers). Service was notably improved this time around. We enjoyed the fun cocktails, german beer, and mulled wine. The bowl of bison chili was abundant, grilled cheese was tasty, and fries were crispy. I wish I had saved room for dessert!
google avatar

Nate S.

Yelp
ELK CHILI!!!!!!! Best chili I've had in a long time. I wish I just ordered a bowl instead of a cup and skipped the Käseschnitte(open face sandwich) which was not that great. I also enjoyed the "That's What She Said Cream Ale"
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Great place for a lunch on the mountain. Great views all around. Free WiFi. It is a lot nicer than your usual mid-mountain lunch and the price reflects that. The turkey club was excellent. Quite large. The tater tots were fantastic as were the curly fries. Service is befitting of a higher end restaurant.
google avatar

Gabriella S.

Yelp
Even though this place was super hard to get a reservation (had to wait over an hour!) it was so good. The vibe was very cozy, just what it needs to be on top of a mountain. We sat right by the fireplace and it was lovely. The food was so much better than I expected. You would think that if there's one restaurant on top of the mountain with no other options that they could get away with serving Bleh food, but nope!! Everything was amazing even though it took a while to come out (the place was fully packed). Overall super impressed/ everything was soo good! And the portions were big too.
google avatar

Aly R.

Yelp
Didn't get to eat here although several attempts were made. We called them several times in 2 days to get a hold of anyone there to ask about reservations or walk in policies. No answer, only voicemail. Lift chair staff gave us little more info but with an attitude like we've never used OpenTable before. Front desk at our hotel also gave us little hesitance to even call and ask if they were booked for the evening. Weird vibes all round and based on the reviews we're not missing much food wise. Meanwhile they're open but not a single soul going up the lift chair to the restaurant, which is the only way of getting there.

Yelp
The atmosphere and setting of this restaurant are so cozy and welcoming. The view makes this place; it overlooks the slopes and mountains. The service was excellent; our waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The vibe of the food has a German flare to it. The pork dumplings were crunchy and fluffy on the inside. The broth the dumpling had a nice umami flavor, great for the dumplings to soak up. As for the pumpkin gnocchi, they were pillowy and a tad too sweet for my taste, but that's my opinion. The pork prime rib was juicy and had a nice smokey flavor, along with cheese spaetzle. The Tyrol grostl is potatoes with bits of roasted lamb topped with duck eggs. The eggs made the dish it was creamy, covering the meat. I wish there were more lamb or more significant pieces in the dish and fewer potatoes. Now on to the dessert; if you love huckleberries, you'll love the huckleberry crumble. It was cooked down with huckleberries and some oats on top. It was very fragrant. I could only have a couple of bites; the ice cream it comes with helps tone down the fragrance. The chocolate torte is similar to a flourless cake it wasn't very sweet but the nuts and ice cream added a nice texture and flavor to the dessert. Overall I would come back here next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
We had the nicest bartender Joe, great job by him. Very nice atmosphere, waited and sat at the bar. Caesar was delicious, chili was also good. Best surprise was the free bread rolls with 3 kinds of whipped butter!

Yelp
We ate here twice during the last week and had good experiences both times. I had the foie gras the first time that were sadly out of the second which is a very unique presentation--They make it into a candle and melt it over the beef, creating a very rich and amazing sauce for it. It is a rich app but not one that leaves you unable to eat the rest of the meal to be sure. For mains, we tried the walleye (amazing!) and the bison (normal and tenderloin); you cant go wrong with any of them. We enjoyed them all tremendously. On the dessert side, the zookie pie is good but I wish it was a giant cookie rather than two normal cookies warmed up in the skillet. They could also use more salt (a common complaint I have with most cookie skillets) but its not a bad end to the meal. We had a few cocktails both times--the swiss negroni and french and spanish 75s. The french was a bit too citrus forward but the spanish was an interesting twist. The whiskey selection is really nice so if you tend that way, you will not be disappointed. Its a fun ride up and back but make sure you dress warmly as those heated seats on the bubble dont help too much if you are only wearing jeans!

Yelp
This place is amazing. The view of Lone Peak is smashing. The drinks were spot on. The service was super. We ate here two days in a row and everyone was loving it.

Yelp
Come for the novelty of riding a cold chairlift at night (the heated seats rarely work) to enjoy a pleasant space with strong cocktails, hit-or-miss service and overpriced inconsistent kitchen work. Whether it's the NZ farmed deer (it's not elk), the pellet fed trout, the fried to a crisp yet somehow still cold schnitzel... you get the point. Big Sky's high cost of living and housing shortage ensure fine dining here will always be a fraught affair. But if you know this going in and bring engaging company, dropping north of $100/person doesn't seem like such a waste. We're local but just shrug and exchange knowing glances when out of state visitors want to take the ride.

Yelp
A caveat to begin...the manager comped my two drinks. That being said, comping the drinks didn't begin to offset the horrible experience my family and I had at Everett's 8800. Our night began at 715 and by 745 we had received only a portion of our drink order. Apparently, three vodka's on the rocks, sparking water, and a diet coke were a taxing order for the less-than-well-oiled staff at Everett's. Long story short, if you are going to Everett's and expecting a meal commensurate with the outlandish prices you'll be let down. I ordered the $59 "Prime" T-Bone and it arrived looking like an anatomy experiment--it was dissected from the bone and sliced crosswise, allowing what juices remained in the severely overcooked 1/4in thick steak to seep out. In all my years cooking my own steaks, and ordering steaks at places like the Capital Grille, Morton's, I have never seen a restaurant serve a steak sliced in the manner in which the chef served this one. I'm sure there are instances when this is the appropriate presentation; this was not one of them. Describe this presentation on the menu and give the customer an opportunity to choose how it is served. My wife ordered the Wild Alaskan Ivory King Salmon and it was just as overcooked my steak. All told, we spent most of our time at Everett's 8800 waiting for one thing or another. Our server was very nice and apologetic for how the steak was prepared and delivered. The manager, despite comping my drinks, left a lot to be desired. His apologies were perfunctory and his concern for an entire party of dissatisfied customers was nonexistent. Under no circumstances would I recommend Everett's 8800. Steer clear. This experience was a total let down. 100% fail.

Yelp
Dined here March 1, 2020. Sampled the chicken & dumplings, elk chili (very good) and Kettle House Scotch Ale. Right near the Ramcharger lift, the views looking at Lone Peak and the humungo outdoor fireplace are good reasons to come. The décor inside seemed pretty contemporary. Yelp
Come for the view but be ready to leave dissatisfied. I ordered the filet and when I did, the server didn't even know it was on the menu and literally had to look at my menu to verify (keep in mind they only have like 8 entrees at lunch time). I ordered it medium rare and what I got was a steak with hardly any pink to be seen. Normally I'm not one to complain but being it was a 70 dollar entree the server sent it back, agreeing that it wasn't cooked properly. The manager came out and asked me if I thought it was undercooked or overcooked (which was baffling) and asked me how I'd like it cooked. I've worked at a steakhouse for 7+ years and medium rare is always a red center with pink developing as it leads to the exterior. They "made up" the situation by sending me out a completely blue rare steak and the manager didn't come back to check on the situation and left it in the servers hands. That being said our server wasn't compassionate in the slightest and didn't handle the situation very empathetically but we cut him a lot of slack considering the manager should've taken the helm when everything started going south. I told our server it was very odd that the manager never came to check up on it and then of course he appeared magically 5 minutes later. I explained the situation but told him I'm not going to send an entree back a second time (also because the slopes were closing soon) and he said they strive to give an A+ experience and that he'd take care of the entree even tho I assured him that that was unnecessary. When the bill came, nothing was adjusted after all and when the party lead (who was displeased with all entrees) told the server nothing was adjusted after all, the server snapped back stating that they comped off the drink that was sent back (because the guest didn't enjoy it, didn't drink it, and ordered something instead). Regardless, I still give the server props for trying to handle a situation that was out of control and gave him a substantial amount comparative to the bill. But it was a horrid experience that was supposed to be a fun dining experience to end the trip. Service- Neutral Food quality comparative to price- horrid Management skills- putrid Just go eat at Chet's grill and you'll have a much more pleasurable experience.

Yelp
Drinks with a view! Used a 'pedestrian pass' (free to Big Sky Resort guests) to take the Rampage Lift up to Everett's around lunchtime. There was about a ~30 min wait, but seating at the bar is first-come, first serve. We opted to take some drinks outside and enjoy them by the fireplace. Prices were about on par for what I expected for the location (~$12/cocktail). A nice way to spend the afternoon while in Big Sky!

Yelp
Not the easiest to get to, no brainer right!? The service left something to be desired. I understand a bunch of skiers and boarders can be needy but felt not wanted by some of the staff especially when getting a table at what was an empty restaurant at the time. Our server bailed out the poor hosting though, very pleasant. The elk chili is a must to warm you up. The other dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen also looked tasty. Beware, the chili does come with the expected consequences. Warm your lift mates.

Yelp
Pricey menu which is to be expected. The oysters on the half shell were dry and shriveled. The squash on the salad was raw. Come for the Drinks and views, but don't bother paying for the food.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for a drink and something sweet. Bartender was super friendly, hot toddy was good but closer to warm than hot, the streusel was gross
