"This Wallingford Ezell’s location is a walk-up counter, but it's located in the middle of what we would scientifically call a “fried chicken desert.” It’s the go-to place for nearby residents who require a two-piece dark meat combo, side of gizzards, sweet potato pie—or more realistically, all three." - Kayla Sager-Riley

"Ezell’s Famous Chicken is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year with plans to open its 14th Seattle location in Federal Way this June. The company may also expand elsewhere in the U.S. soon. Additionally, Ezell’s is founding its own nonprofit, with funds recently going to a restorative justice program." - Gabe Guarente

Ezells famous fried chicken isn’t what it used to be….. There’s just something Missing from the original Recipe. I don’t care that There are more ezells than KFC. What was once Oprah’s Favorite is now just another Overpriced Overhyped chain. When it was special and only ‘In Da Hood’ @ Jefferson and 23rd (still there) with an All Black Family Staff, You Could taste the ‘Love’ Now every location is Spanish first English Second and Although The Food is Hot and Ready it lacks the Seasoning and the Amor. I yearn for that taste and after a Split within The Original company I may never taste that Certain thing Again. Oooh Nooo. (Donna Summer in my Brain) The Tenders were Basic and bland with A ‘Slight’ kick. So SPARSE was the 1/2 pound I ate it Before I could take a Picture…it’s literally 6 tenders for $12. Yes 2 bucks a tender. Insanity. So I had to Order another 2 piece All White Spicy to get The fix I yearned. More flavorful yet Lacking in Overall Taste it seems the Expansion bought Reduction in Flavor. Once Again that Love is missing. The Star of this show is the Rolls that they Had to steal from my Great Grandmothers Recipe. Allegedly. This Roll is never off. Why? Because it’s a Recipe that can’t be Altered. Perfection is The Key. And if you ever Need that dinner roll to complete your serving… This is ‘the’ One. Now it’s time for that Sweet Potato Pie, Which used to be Bigger in Size yet Still will Give you Granny’s house on A Winter Weekend Memory. Giving that Get out my Kitchen Voice. But with the Chicken ‘Not Giving’ What’s the Point? Nostalgia…… p.s. I understand ‘inflation’ what i don’t get is ‘Shrinkflation’ and the spicy chicken pieces were overcooked and Dry. As you can see in the picture.

Picked up 24 piece meal for the fam. Ordered online, and service is prompt, place is clean, food is hot and delicious. Their rolls are what my kids love. If you haven't had the rolls, they are made in a muffin tin and are so soft and buttery. They exceed the side of the muffin tin, so they are a mushroom shape. SO GOOD. Ezell's is a solid go-to for food.

My friend ordered me a meal from Ezell's that can appeal to any fried chicken lover. I had the spicy tenders with baked beans and fries, which were excellent. The tender was well-portioned with breading and meat, but I found the tender to be a smidge dry. Despite the minor blemish, the baked beans made up for it in a resounding fashion. The beans were cooked to the perfect consistency of not too soft nor too hard, and the sauce had a wonderful BBQ tang. The biscuits were also acceptable, as was the peach cobbler. Given that this was a takeout order, I was so impressed by the emphasis on their mains that I'm excited to come for a sit-down meal.

The website was world class. The pick up was great. The people were friendly. The chicken was superior. Great crust, moist meat. Biscuits like they serve at Popeyes would be a great upgrade rather than the lackluster rolls. Will definitely order again.

Placed pick up order for Super Bowl Sunday, delicious chicken/slaw/beans and rolls. Can’t recommend it enough. Loved that we could place order and select time for pick up hours in advance. Thanks Ezell’s!

One of my all time favorite Seattle foods. And I love the high quality food and oil used — I even Eat this the night before long runs for marathon training given the high amount of protein :) just the best!

got the eight piece family meal, all dark meat, original style. Was awesome like it hasn’t been in years. Mac & cheese was extra good too.

I like local. Local eateries. Local shopping. I dislike big box anything. Ezell's is like a step back in time and they are all over the Seattle Metro. Chicken is great and feels more homemade than actual homemade. Sides are excellent - mashed potatoes are real and you can tell from the lumps in them. I mean that in a good way. Mac & Cheese is the only side I have eaten that I would actually look forward to ordering. Chicken is good. Prices are decent. Service is fast. A tradition for a reason. I still love me some Popeye's, I'm not going to lie, but this is good stuff. Oh, and local. Try some today.
