3rd visit here, and this was by far my favorite!
Sadly, they were out of my favorite cocktail, "Just Peachy." However, going along with our waiter's recommendation, I tried the Red-headed Stranger. It was delicious! A perfect, slushy, frozen drink to cool me down in this Texas heat.
My date tried "Smokey the Bear," and very much enjoyed it. The price was steep - $18. But was a skillfully crafted cocktail. The smokiness made itself apparent on the nose and then disappeared on the palette, making for an interesting and pleasant twist on a classic.
The loaded baked potato with brisket was divine! Tender chunks of brisket atop a salt-crusted skin baked potato, filled with butter, cheddar, and topped with green onion was excellent!
The pork ribs were succulent, slightly spicy, and seasoned to perfection. Coated and kissed with a tangy, tomatoey, veil of a sauce was SO GOOD! The pickled onions actually paired well with the flavors of the ribs and proved more than just to be pretty presentation.
The sides, truffled potato salad, and Mac and Jack weren't bad, but not necessarily that great. Worth a try, but the rest of our order stole the show!
Our waiter was great, I should have got his name. All of his suggestions and help were spot on. He was even a good sport with another table full of happy-go-lucky women and sang "Happy Birthday" to one of the ladies per their special request and to all of their delight.
Anyways, this is a great modern spin on classic BBQ picks paired with fun cocktails, matched with kitchy, contemporary, old school Western atmosphere.
