This place works great as a pub stop during the day. True to form I’m focusing on vegan options …. Theo portabella sandwich works perfectly, but needed to switch out the bun to make it work. Can’t wait for the day you tell a water you need a vegan meal and they know which options are vegan friendly!

We have eaten at Faces & Names many times over the years. This is one of the best pub/lounge atmospheres in Midtown Manhattan. It has a nice mix of both, with the bar area in the front and the lounge towards the back. The service has always been good, the food is solid, and the pricing for the area is very reasonable. Highly recommended it here!

A lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside . Good crowd and even better bartender , Matthew . He works his tail off and no one has to has to wait long to be greeted or served . Lots of TVs too . Outdoor seating and cool backroom suitable a group . My only suggestion is to maybe put a few creative non alcoholic drinks on the menu too . Place has been there over 35 years so I’d say they’ve got a good handle on this bar restaurant concept . Go see them .

I always have such a great time at faces. Megan always gives me such a warm welcome. It’s rare to see a manager at a bar go above and beyond for every single customer. She greets everyone as if they are and old friend. I saw her deal with a very mean customer and she was kind through out the ordeal, a lot nicer than I would have been. Bartenders Jason and Michael make the best drinks! Server Chica was so attentive and one of the best in the biz.

Went for an afternoon drink and some appetizers. The place is calm and nice at least the time we went. The bartender and the waiter were very nice! They had a special on Rosè so had to take that. Cheese balls were great tasting with the sauce. I am surprised I liked the mustard with the pretzel bites even though it is not my thing. So overall good times. I recommend it!

Amazing decor, good food and friendly staff. I really enjoyed their selection of craft cocktails. This bar is a hidden gem in the heart of NYC. Highly recommended. The schedule sometimes changes so double check their website but they also have trivia night on certain days which is always a great time!

I like this spot. The drinks are good, food is tasty and the vibe is pleasant. Service can be a bit slow but it's perfect if you're meeting up for a leisurely drink with friends. Happy hour 3-7. I find the paintings incredibly off-putting but that is a personal preference!

A fun midtown bar with a nice vibe and cute atmosphere. It's been around for a long time and popular with after work midtown crowd so can get very busy. Decent pub food too

A good place to come for a drink after work. This place has all you need after a long day: good BMS (Beer, Music, and Service). The food here is pretty good. They even have healthy options. Would recommend for happy hour and after work drinks.

We were looking for a spot to grab food before heading to Radio City Music Hall for a concert. This bar is located just a few blocks away, a quick 10 min walk. We tried the Fried Mozzarella Balls which my niece loved. Reminded her of a mozzarella stick. The Fresh cut French fries are one of the best, seriously super good crispy yet soft fries. I tried the Mini burgers without a bun, they were pretty good, but were missing the pickles that it was suppose to come with. I'm sure these are delicious with their potato bun, sadly not gluten free. The Mini Mushroom Tacos are fire, be sure to try these. They only come on flour tortillas, so definitely not gluten free. The food was really good! A great spot for dinner! The cocktails are delicious too! I had a spicy Margarita and a spicy Paloma! The service is fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming. Great vibes, played fun music, and pretty spacious. This bar is kid friendly until 8pm. I would definitely recommend this spot for food and drinks, it was an overall great experience.

I can definitely see how a place like this can be used for a gathering with friends! The inside of this bar/restaurant is very spacious, and there are different types of seats available (stools/seats). They have a separate room in the back that had cozy seats, where you can relax. This spot is located conveniently in the city, so it is easy to get to via public transportation. The drinks i tried were more on the sweet side, so if this is your type of drink, you will definitely enjoy it. I actually enjoyed the drinks since sweet drinks are my thing, especially Bubble Butt! They also serve beers on tap, and you can order a tower of beer as well if you want to share it amongst your friends. The food they served were typical bar foods like onion rings, burgers, wings, and etc. The onion rings were nicely battered and crispy. I also really enjoyed the mini chicken tacos as well. They also have different desserts as well. I don't know about you, but carrot cakes definitely hit the spot for me. I like how it was not dry. The staff was very friendly during the time I visited. Everything ordered came correctly, and it was delicious. I would come here for a light bite and some drinks as it is on the pricier side.

During my friends and I quick trip to New York we were recommended this place by a staff member at our hotel. The restaurant was dimly lit. A nice size bar and a good amount of tables to dine at. We sat at the bar and was served promptly. My buffalo chicken wrap was ok not the best in my opinion. The fries were perfectly seasoned. I did try my friend quesadilla and it was very good! The drinks were good and strong! If I am back in the city I will definitely return!

I've had this place bookmarked for a hot minute because one day I figured I would check it out if I was ever in the area. That day was today. I was in the area to meet friends and decided to come here solo after our reunion. I like it. Not too busy, but def sat near bros who felt the need to loudly advertise their traveling experiences as validation and badges of honor. Annoying... and clearly don't live here because when you do discuss travel it requires an elegance and ease, not a parade of checkmarks (talk about spotting tourists in broad daylight). Regardless of that noise, place is great and bartender was very cool. Such a chill spot for this area during the daytime.

The lobster roll was excellent, great service - nice change for an airport! Always want to stop by when I fly Logan!

This was an unexpected hit. We saw an 8pm show on Broadway, walked back to our Thompson hotel one block over, and needed a quick bite to eat around 11pm. Our concierge suggested Faces & Names. Sounded weird but ok... so off we were! Pleasantly surprised by this spot. A few seats out on the sidewalk at high tops, a hopping bustling bar area and a secondary seating in back with a wood mantled fireplace, moody contemporary lighting and highly inventive portrait art is what we got. Looked like an old English pub. Our waitress was ok- friendly enough but got my order wrong - forgot to add chicken to my Cobb and it had olives which I asked for without - but otherwise the meal was good for midnight fare. My hubs ordered their famous mini chicken tacos. Super good. Bite-sized and great portion size with nine. Food was good and ambiance was awesome. Nice late night spot in this area around several hotels. Far away from the madness that is Times Square.

This place has so many drinks and plenty of options for a casual lunch or dinner with friends! The drinks are a bit on a sweeter side but really like the ones with the citrus. For apps I really liked the portion of mini tacos which is great for sharing and as usual wings are always a win. The fries and burger were pretty standard and filling. I was surprised by one of their cake slices that was very tasty and flavorful compared to the other two kinds. The chocolate was the best and richest. Service was nice, the lady who handled our party of 7 was really patient with us and made sure we got everything. The ambience is pretty relaxed and the back area is really nice and much more open than the front area. This place really is ideal for apps and drinks! with a group of 4-5!

Love this place!!!! I'm a flight attendant and we stay a few blocks down from this bar. It's good to get some late night bites (which has not disappointed) and drinks. Staff have always been super nice and pleasant. Would recommend!

Came here for superbowl, honestly super cool decor, good vibes, nice staff, managed to kill 3 bottles of wine between 3 people so we clearly had fun. Would def come back. Fries were a yummy snack for the table

I've been to this well-known place three times so far, and it's undeniably a great spot. The food is ... good, with a diverse menu that caters to various preferences. Cocktails are crafted very well, regardless of the cocktail that I received; it just wasn't for me. This place still does offers a satisfying range of options. Service does its very best at being attentive, even during busy hours, though securing a seat can be a challenge due to its popularity. The ambiance is vibrant, creating a lively atmosphere. While it's a fantastic place, I must admit it's not exactly my cup of tea. Nonetheless, if you enjoy a bustling and energetic scene, Faces and Names is a must-visit in New York City!

Pretty cool bar and lounge by central park! They have a very tasty assortment of drinks. They are a bit pricey though averaging 16-17 dollars. A few of them can also be very sweet which isn't what I was into but the Goldrush cocktail was my jam. It had a nice subtle hint of honey and a delicious bourbon kick. The appetizers I had were fantastic. My favorite were the sliders. It was cooked to a nice medium rare and felt very filling. It wasn't one of those flat pattie sliders, this had a good bite to it. Mini tacos were very crunchy and gobbled up in one bite. Onion rings were also very satisfying. I had a burger for the main entree and it was a hefty one. It's definitely a solid burger. I was only able to finish half unfortunately. The burger, weirdly was over done. I expected it to be the same perfect doness as the sliders but was slightly disappointed. Nonetheless it was a great experience!

Small Bar. Snobby bartender. Most expensive drinks we've had in NYC. Dirty martinis wasn't made correctly. It was clean tho.

The lounge is small and does not seat many people. If you want good food to carry out, the food it is very enjoyable! The service is great and the staff very courteous.

We stopped in for right before a volunteer event. The restaurant was located walking distance from the hotel where the event was taking place. The service was great. The food was delicious. We had an assortment of appetizers to share and weren't disappointed. Perfect place to grab a bite and relax.

Our first time in NYC and the hotel recommended this place for late-night food. Let me tell you, what a great first impression! Luke was our bartender, and he was amazing! The food was great! We just ordered some wings and quesadilla with our drinks. We will definitely be back on our trip and recommend it to anyone staying%visiting the Manhattan/Times Square area.

Came here with a group of friends for some drinks and bar food. It's a cool place to hang out, but in terms of food and drinks, I think otherwise. We got to try out various cocktails, but most of the drinks were super sugary for my liking. Food-wise, we split a variety of items, including Stack of Onion Rings ($9), Mini Chicken Tacos ($19), Mini Burgers ($14), and Wings ($17). Overall, they were pretty standard bar food. Only the Mini Chicken Tacos stood out to me. I also got an order of the Buffalo Chicken Wrap ($16) for my entree. I could have done without the celery.

I have to say , I loved this establishment. First thing, the staff was sooooo extremely friendly and welcoming. The place was busy and the bartenders were still so attentive, they were not annoyed at all, very happy bunch. The drinks were very good and perfectly made. The food here was sooooo good too , especially the little burgers and the pork buns. Our server was soooo sweet as well , we just loved her. The ambiance was cool, a great mix of people, which I love. We also loved all the paintings of famous faces on the walls . Over all just a perfect place for happy hour or any time food and drinks.

Underwhelmed with the entire experience (other than their fun Halloween decor). Went for a business discussion and they sat us at a table in the back with uneven seat heights. This is definitely bar atmosphere and bar food - don't expect anything more than below average. We got the slider sampler, fried shrimp, and mozzarella balls to share. I had a caprese salad for dinner (which was doused in dressing). None of the food met my expectations.

Awesome place to ckme in for drinks. Quick service, right to the point, no nonsense type of place. I like to come in here to have drinks and have a good time with my co-workers. Great atmosphere, relaxed and reasonable priced.

You will wait FoRever for a server to come. They are not nice or friendly or helpful. We were never given water until asked with beers and cocktails. There were 3 of us, only 2 main courses arrived and they hit only did not apologize but were rude. We ordered the Mac n cheese and I were told it takes longer than the burger and the shrimp tacos! But it Never came!! We had to ask if it could be taken off the bill and they did not even care. There is no real manager here to help. Only young kid's bartending. Also we wanted more cocktails but never got another round because the server didn't think to sell! This place is only busy because of location

I am giving 1 star simply due to how the GM who was working on 3/16/2024 acted. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. My family visiting from Ireland and I had come straight from the St Patrick's day parade. The waitress we had during the day was AMAZING, 10/10 service from her. When we got there, we asked if they could put on Irish music since it's St Patrick's day weekend and they did! We had a great time eating, drinking and dancing. Some of my family that was visiting was going to leave so I asked if we could play 1 song (a family song) the new waitress said no requests so I asked to speak to the manager to explain. As I am waiting at the bar for the GM, she yells from across the room "do you need to talk to me", while looking at the computer instead of walking over to speak to me or even looking at me. I kindly go to her and ask her to play just 1 song. She tells me no because it's against their rules, which I can respect. As she is saying all this to me with an extreme, unprofessional attitude, she has has her finger in my face to the point where my sister had to come over to see what was going on. After being at Faces and Names for hours with a group of 12, spending almost $1500 at their establishment, the behavior was UNACCEPTABLE and INAPPROPRIATE. Now to be clear, I am not writing this to complain about not being able to request music, I am writing this to complain about how the GM raised her voice at the simple question and responded with such attitude, disrespect and unprofessionalism. Putting your finger in someone's face is never acceptable ESPECIALLY when they are a paying customer (who had been there for hours spending a lot of money nonetheless). The GM who was working the Saturday of St Pattys day weekend in the late afternoon shift is the sole reason I will never go back here. The lack of respect does not make me feel safe on that establishment. Lastly, as the FABULOUS waitress we had during the day was leaving her shift, we see the GM yelling at her for accepting our request to play Irish music for St Pattys day. Our waiter during the day was extremely nice, professional and respectful. She gave us the upmost service you can think of when dining. I did not get her name but she was a short blonde women. AMAZING service quality from her. Her GM should take a note from her on how to treat the patrons of a restaurant. I would have left a 5 star review solely based on how great our waitress was but her GM lead with such inelegance, that this 1 star review is for her.

I've now been here a handful of times. This seems to be the perfect go to spot after visiting the Moma/ watching films at the Moma that screen late in the evening. The vibe feels like an elevated dive bar with caricatures of famous people on the walls. They also have space in the back that can be reserved and used for private events. Everything here is just right. They stay open late. The cocktails are pretty good and strong: I had the margarita, whiskey sour and a vodka tonic. The short rib sliders are my go to and they never disappoint- full of flavor and juicy patties. The service is friendly and attentive. It can be a bit difficult to ha e conversations as the music is pretty loud but all in all it's a great vibe.

My first time writing a Yelp review - we came here on Saturday after the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Had a great time and the staff was great. The General Manager however was BEYOND rude to not only us, but evidently her staff. Won't be coming back to this bar ever again.

Thought this was a cool spot to chill and have a drink. Was looking for a late night drink and the security guard at my hotel recommended this place. Bartenders were nice, drinks were not crazy expensive and it had a great ambiance. The painting on the walls of celebrities were very cool. I went back three times while I was visiting NYC. If your in the area and looking for a cool chill spot to have a drink, try Faces & Name's!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but I was disappointed. They only had holiday themed drinks on the menu. I'm sure they can also make regular drinks but I didn't ask. I got the big apple but it was super water downed and I couldn't taste anything except melted ice so I wasn't a huge fan.

The food is quite excellent here and the blue, warm aesthetic of the restaurant bar is comforting. I ordered the California Chicken Club and I enjoyed it a lot. I would say the food is a little dry, but for what i got, I enjoyed the food. The waiters and workers were delightful to talk to and I overall had an enjoyable experience here with my friends. Definitely a great place to have fun with friends.

Jane is an amazing bartender. She legit had the place humming!! Our drinks were perfect and she was ensuring everyone was pleased with their drinks. Love the back bar for a potential larger party. Great vibes and fun in an area that is over run by pubs. Love the artwork and photos, made for great conversations!!

This is one of my go to places for Friday after work! The tacos are so yummy! I highly recommend them. Everyone who works at Faces is kind and friendly. If you have a chance visit the back, it is elegant and cozy with a fireplace. Great music! Great place!

Went here before seeing a Sunday matinee at NYCC. Only party in attendance at around noon so we felt comfortable but it definitely started getting busier around 1:30. We've been here pre-pandemic and know it's a reliable spot for burgers, tacos, fries, and pretzel bites. Mini tacos were surprisingly filling. Waiter was attentive and polite, but not overly friendly. Note that sliders (mini burgers) don't come with fries and you have to order extra but it does come with a regular burger. The bathrooms in the basement were out of order while we were there so everyone from all parties were using the single person handicap stall on the main floor which created a line. Management was just like, "yeah it's out," when another party asked if the bathrooms were open yet and it was a pretty casual response. Feel like other places would've at least apologized for the inconvenience.

My boyfriend and I went out and tried this place for the first time. The Mini Chicken Tacos are absolutely amazing. Great seasoning. We also ordered their Gyoza, not bad at all. But the tacos were definitely better. Music? eh. (there's no real set mood, you are bound to hear ANYTHING). The drinks were okay, could be better. Not many options for theirs cocktails. They were also a bit pricey, in my opinion. Decent place for a quick, calm good time with friends or a spouse.

Over charged by so much it was insane. We had to prove we had 9 less drinks than they charged us for. As someone who has frequented this bar for over a decade I have never had such a disappointing experience where they made five separate checks for us (four of which were wrong). Incredibly disappointing.

Get the mini chicken tacos!!! That's it, that's the yelp jk apparently i need more words to publish. Basically the sauce is really good - chicken is incredibly tender and the tortillas are fried and crispy but still soft on the inside. Second favorite tacos i've ever had in nyc

I had the opportunity to come here for a tasting event with friends for lunch on a Sunday. A reservation had been made for us before but when we walked in there was only one other person at the restaurant! Given that it has a more American sports bar vibe I could understand why it might not be someones first choice but if you're in the midtown area and looking for some common fare vibes this is definitely an option. We were seated when we arrived and given menus to look over to choose our main dishes. The server brought us out several of their house cocktails which were all flavorful and strong (which we liked). We got an order of burger sliders, wings, and onion rings for our appetizers. For the main I went with the chicken club sandwich which was super tasty! It also came with a hefty side of fries but you can choose from a said salad or onion rings as well. Overall a good dining experience to go with friends or grab casual drinks at the bar!

Bartenders are amazing however my issue was with the manager Meagan. My fiancé and I were having a drink the day prior to end our date night and had zero issues. It was a great night. We decided to end our night there again being that we live in the neighborhood. However, entering tonight we were not allowed in because of Meagan's behavior towards us.

Nice bartenders but extremely rude manager I think her name was Morgan. There are 2 hidden gems right next door, go there instead.

Stopped in here late at night around 11 PM. Ordered a salad side of fries and pretzel bites. A large Bluemoon the slice of orange. We staff was friendly ambience was lovely great recommendation from the bouncer at the Celtic pub. Definitely would go back it's quaint cozy just enough people to make it New York City and not to many people you can enjoy your meal.

This place is happening! Great atmosphere and drinks with a friendly staff. Ask for James the bartender. For a visitor I felt like I was at home.

A NYC Landmark!!! Faces is a place where you feel sanctuary from the grit of NY. This establishment provides a sense of belonging even in a Ciity that can at times feel isolating. The world is facing many challengesafter Covid. The war in Europe, global inflation, and just the day to day hustle of city life, there exist a place in the heart of the city that will go the extra mile. If you need a friendly face after a long day, Faces and Names will be there for you! God Bless America, Our Troops, and New Yorks , Faces and Names!

Great food and atmosphere. We came on a Wednesday evening, it was def crowded by the bar area for times during COVID, which means it's good vibes! Although it's a lounge, we were able to sit as a family in the back and it was secluded and nice. The food was awesome. I'd say the chicken tacos are the best tacos I ever had and the buffalo wings. Family had burgers and California club and they loved it all. The staff was even great, amazing and friendly! Def recommend the food, staff and atmosphere and prices were awesome for Manhattan.

We sought out another happy hour place after a previous mediocre experience. I'm glad my Girlfriend found this place. A great selection of draft and bottle beer on Happy Hour and great appetizers. We had the mini tacos and quesadillas. Excellent. Our waitress, Jayne, was extremely attentive and friendly. This is a place we'll return to as we visit Manhattan.

Came around lunch time on our way to Moma and sat at the bar. We were ordered a couple apps to share and drinks on top. Service was fast and food came out timely. Made great conversation with the bartender, didn't quite catch his name, but it said Matthew on the receipt.

Went to this bar after grabbing dinner with a friend and it had a great social atmosphere even on a weekday night! It's a great space for catching up with a friend and the drinks were good, nothing too crazy pricy. I would recommend going here for a relax, casual outing! Quality, service, atmosphere and value were all there! Above average even! Definitely better than the hotel restaurant or bar in either direction. *insider tip - seasoning on the fries is sooo addicting!
