"Bellevue Taiwanese and Chinese restaurant Facing East is leaving its location of the last 15 years for a smaller location about five minutes down the road at 12736 Bel-Red Road. Known for popular dishes like the Taiwanese pork burger, beef noodle soup, and sweet and sour pork spareribs, Facing East’s new location has a larger kitchen, and will be takeout only, with an expanded selection of grab and go items." - Mark Van Streefkerk

"This is downtown Bellevue’s hotspot for imaginative Taiwanese fare, from Hakka-style chow fun and pork bao burgers to prawns with honey mustard mayonnaise. Facing East’s profile will only go up now that star comic Ali Wong revealed she’s a big fan. Impatient diners, beware: There’s almost always a wait." - Gabe Guarente

Yelp
Extremely friendly staff, and great Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Keep in mind they are mostly takeout only, they only have a single table there for someone to use outside. Extra noodles were only $2, which was a great deal. Broth was very flavorful, noodles were tender, and beef was marinated and had a nice somewhat spicy kick to it. Would recommend the pig ear also. Will definitely be stopping by again if I'm in the area. Thanks again!

Yelp
I was having my windshield replaced next door and decided to walk down to Facing East for lunch. I couldn't believe that the large spiced roast pork stew was under $10. I think it's important to point out that it was well spiced, it was not spicy (caveat I like a lot of spice). First bite was delicious, but needed some chili crisp to amp up the heat a little. The order came out quick, the pork was precisely as described in the menu, and for under $10 a real bargain.

Yelp

Yelp
My go-to for Taiwanese takeout. Food is always fresh and flavorful and the prices are reasonable. They've been around for so long you know they can be trusted. Not the same experience after going from sit down store front to pickup only. But the food is delicious regardless so doesn't matter.

Yelp
They only do take out and can order online. The food tasted home cooked and order was ready within 20 minutes of ordering. Ordered the following: Spiced pork stew over rice - the spiced pork had great flavor, liked how the meat included pork skin, the pork to rice proportion was off and wish it came with more pork Pig ear salad- thinly sliced and had good texture, the thinly sliced ginger was overpowering and made the dish not taste good Sauteed rice vermicelli - basic and not very flavorful Beef noodle soup - soup had great flavor, thin noodle was cooked well but nothing special, some pieces of beef were so chewy that they were inedible

Yelp
Finally made it over here. Overall a place worth trying - especially for the braised pork stew over rice. yum (not sweet at all). Didn't hate anything, just didn't love it all. Also, be prepared to eat in your car or home....or the one table for two outside. We opted for car bc it was warmer and not in the rain. Overall, this place is too far from me and without seating to ever make it into my usual restaurant rotation.

Yelp
Facing East makes good food that's just about great. As of June 2024 they operate as a take out only location in a semi industrial strip. There's only a couple of tables outside their door, and those tables only seat two people. The popular dish is the pork hamburger using sweet pork and a bao bun. It's good, but there's brown sugar literally burying the pork and dusted everywhere in the container - it's too sweet. The also popular five spice chicken is fantastic! It's perfectly fried, juicy, and a delightful order that just needs a proper dipping sauce to set it over the top. The simple noodles with soy sauce is a pleasant but forgettable meal. Try some of the pre packaged meals near their counter for good value purchases. When you order they say they'll text me, but somehow they forgot to do that for me. I'd return but try new items.

Yelp
Even tho this place has changed, their food quality hasn't. Would definitely recommend getting the pork hock, it's huge for the price, toke me two days to finish it, and it was very tasty too~

Yu-Hsiang L.

Yelp
The quality has dropped quite a lot recently. I usually ordered beef noodle soup. The meat was mostly 70% + tendons , feel like it's was just bad parts of beef. This was the photo of the one I just ordered today

Yelp
One of the best pork burgers. All the crunchy little nuts and sauces that they put on. It just gives it a burst of amazing flavor. They have lots of other great dishes, but that one just melts in my mouth. I miss being able to sit at the restaurant, but the takeout is still a nice option. They also have some fun items in the cold area including juices, and desserts.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while! The online ordering process was very easy and our food was ready for pick-up when we arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that they now have a couple of small tables outside their establishment to eat at. Taiwanese Pork Burger: I loved how the peanuts tasted with the flavor of the pork and pickled vegetables. It was a lovely couple bites of food, and I would order this again. Large Spiced Pork Stew over Rice: I really enjoyed the flavor of the spiced pork, very delicious! There was plenty of rice to soak up all the flavor goodness as well. While there isn't a lot of "food" other than rice in this dish, it is pretty worth it for the cheap price. Beef Noodle Soup: There is a lot of beef in this dish, enough to share between 2 people. The noodles weren't quite cooked through though, there are still parts of the noodles where the strands didn't separate when initially cooked and parts were still relatively dry/uncooked -- even after soaking them in the soup for a while. Additionally, for people with very low spice tolerance, the "no spicy" level of spice might not be low enough for you. The flavor of the soup and beef was delicious, though!

Yelp
This spot doesn't have space inside to dine in. However, there are a couple of tables outside where you can sit and eat. Service is quick and friendly! We ordered the following: Taiwanese pork burger: DELICIOUS. The pork is so tender and perfectly cooked. I love the sweet peanut crumble on it! 5 spice beef wrap: I think this needed a bit more sauce, but it was goodl Steamed pork and vegetable wontons: Really good! The wonton skin is al dente and these are pretty big!

Yelp
We haven't been to Facing East since before COVID and we learned that they changed location and only do take-out now. We ordered several dishes and most of them were tasty: large spiced Pork over rice, five spiced chicken, five spiced beef shank (cold dish), pork chop over rice, and Hakka style chow fun. The beef shank cold dish was just ok, and the beef was too chewy for us. Pork chop was a little hard and overcooked. Other than that, we loved the rest, especially the five spiced chicken (which I forgot to take a picture of, sigh!). The Hakka style chow fun was also delicious, perfectly cooked. We will come back for more take out for sure.

Yelp
I love Facing East, and they are doing only take out business off Bel Red road, still delightful food and a great meal.

Timothy L.

Yelp
I used to love going here but the quality has definitely gone down significantly since they are now to-go only. I mean I get that food is not as good to-go and everything is just generally more expensive nowadays, but the high prices you pay just do not match the quality of the food you are getting. I got the braised pork belly over rice and the pork bao (NOT a burger). Both items are very good and the braised pork over rice was still so juicy and flavorful but the amount of pork belly you get is just so much less. Even though it is to-go only there is a bench nearby right next to Safelite where you can dine. I am happy they are still around even if the quality is not as great but I do reminisce over the dining in days.

Madeline T.

Yelp
Facing east has the best pork buns I've tasted!! There are no indoor seating and a couple small tables outside. Its super easy to call and place takeout orders with them! Highly recommend their drinks as well- especially for the cute glads bottles!!!

Michael L.

Yelp
Some of the best take out in Bellevue. awesome Taiwanese bistro menu. My favorites include the spiced beef wraps, the 5 spiced chicken w/basil, the stir fry string beans and salt and pepper prawns The current location is take out only as you may remember them from the eat in diner near Bell square but now they are in an old strip mall in the Bel Red corridor

Wennie H.

Yelp
Service was phenomenal! Picked up 3 cup chicken bento, the pork belly n tofu bento and pig ear salad. The woman working heated the bentos up for us even though she didn't need to. Lots of options for food. The portions were pretty large for the price. However, I found the flavor of the chicken and soy sauce egg lacking, the vegetables and pickled cucumber were super tasty. This is only takeout, no in store dining.

Rj A.

Yelp
This is the first time we ordered the take out since it become the take out only restaurant. Compare to its original establishment, the food becomes lesser quality, lesser quantity , and more expensive. The food was fried in the oil you know it has been re-used many times over and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It Was my favorite restaurant before but now I guess I have to kiss another good restaurant goodbye. No longer recommended.

Yelp
While I was in Redmond, this place was my haven. It is so hard to find authentic Taiwanese place and this place is a gem. They are takeout only though, so I would consider ordering online and coming in for pickup. Pork Stew Over Rice (4.75/5): A must get. Mellow pork stewed until it melts in your mouth over a bed of rice. It brings me straight back to Taiwan. Taiwanese Pork Burger (4.5/5): I'll admit, this is a bit pricey, but the flavor profile is perfect. Braised pork belly with Taiwanese sauerkraut in a fluffy bun topped with peanuts. Definitely worth trying at least once. Taiwanese Oyster Pancake (4/5): This one is super authentic, but I did feel like it was slightly overcooked, but they are generous with the oysters. Definitely would only recommend to someone who really likes seafood though. Additionally, they have a bunch of pre-made sides and drinks that they make fresh daily, which you can pick up which are all amazing. My personal favorite is the taro sago drink :)

David J.

Yelp
The Hakka style Chow fun is good but the soy flavored chicken was gross. Half of the chicken was cartilage and bones, totally did not expect that. Overall I'd get the Hakka style chow fun and avoid the soy flavored chicken. I just threw out the soy flavored chicken

Julie W.

Yelp
It's not easy getting here since there weren't many crosswalks. The food was worth it though. I got: Taiwanese Pork Burger ($7.50) - Had a peanut butter taste in it and the braised pork was juicy and fragrant. I love it. I think it was a little expensive but it was worth trying. Small Spiced Pork Stew Over Rice ($4.95) - I think this portion is fair for the price. It was delicious. Meat was juicy and it smelled wonderful. I also had their Mango Sago. It comes with a glass milk bottle with their logo on it. Very cute. Would I come back to this place? Yes! Next time I'll try other items on their menu. I also want to add they only do takeouts for now, but service is great. You can go in and buy refrigerated meals if needed, otherwise you can order the ones made hot.

L W.

Yelp
Great take out place. Hidden in an industrial strip mall between upholstery shop and windshield repair/detail. I ordered the Tofu with veggies, egg and pickled vegetable, 5 spice chicken and the hamburger. I ordered Taiwanese burger to try since I read it to be rated #8 in the state. I did not like the burger. I'm willing to try it without the peanuts to see what the hype is.

Maggie L.

Yelp
I haven't been home in a while but I was shocked to see that this restaurant is now a take out only small joint next to an auto shop. In its full glory it boasted 2 hour wait times and was always bustling with loyal patrons. The food is still good but takeout isn't the same as eating in store. I am nostalgic for the restaurant that once was.

Emily J.

Yelp
Gosh, I'm so glad that I happened to stumble upon this restaurant. The food is DELICIOUS, and it's so homey :) My go-to order at Facing East is the Spiced Pork Stew over Rice, and for the price, it's definitely amazing value! I usually also order a drink, whether it's fruit or milk tea, to go along with the Pork over Rice, and I think it's the perfect balance of food for about $10-12. One of my favorite parts about this restaurant is that the drinks also come in reusable glass containers, which are not only sustainable but also practical. When I had visited, the restaurant was take-out only, so I definitely recommend finding a park nearby to eat at and enjoy the food while it's still hot!

Mike L.

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for good Taiwanese food and a friend recommended facing east. They're located in a strip mall with safelite and other shops so parking may be a little difficult. Facing east is doing takeout for now so be sure to call ahead. They also have bentos and sides in a deli fridge. I got the popcorn chicken and sesame noodles. The popcorn chicken is thoroughly marinated in traditional flavors and is made of breast meat, not thigh meat. It's really good quality for what I've come across. The sesame noodles are okay. They're slightly spicy and numbing but good. I wish there was more sesame/peanut butter flavor but it's good as a side for a few people to share. Will definitely be back to try other items.

Katherine G.

Yelp
Really good food, but quite pricey for what you get. I was able to try one of their lunch specials since they came to my office. I got the braised pork over rice which came with half an egg, some pickled and steamed veggies, and rice. There were only 3 pieces of pork which was a good lunch portion, but for ~$14 it didn't seem super worth it. The food, however, was really great! The pork was perfectly tender and melts in your mouth, and the veggies are a nice complement to the dish. The egg was also marinated which made it extra good, though they only give you half. Out of all the components of the dish, the pork was definitely the star. Not sure I'd get it again due to the price, but worth a try for sure!

Justine D.

Yelp
I came here after COVID when they were already takeout only. You can order with a menu upon entering, and they also have a small takeout fridge area where they have some of their cold dishes for easy grabbing. My sister and I ordered a few dishes to go, and ate them pretty shortly after while they were still warm. Some of the dishes were fairly good, while the others were only so-so. We ordered a Taiwanese Shrimp Pancake, a Taiwanese Oyster Pancake, and of course the classic Taiwanese dish - Braised Pork over Rice. We also grabbed a cold dish to try. Out of these items, my favorite was the Shrimp dish. The shrimp is rolled up and they serve it with a little chili sauce. Definitely make sure to eat this while still hot, because it does feel quite greasy as it cools. However, this was full of shrimpy goodness, and paired with the sauce, it was super delicious. The Oyster Pancake, maybe because it was Taiwanese style, was not really my favorite. There were not a ton of oysters, and the pancake dough itself was really sticky. I do believe this is a stylistic difference, because the Oyster Pancakes that I have eaten in Malaysia are definitely less sticky in consistency and more eggy. The Braised Pork over Rice was pretty good, but I would have been slightly happier with a larger ratio of the dish being the pork and not rice. That being said, I couldn't really complain about the flavor.

Wanda K.

Yelp
This is no longer a sit down restaurant, it's just to go. I hope they update their website. I don't know why they don't go back to the restaurant style because they had such a big business all the time.

Letitia J.

Yelp
I kept forgetting to Yelp this place when I was back home in Seattle! So, here goes... Surprise, surprise - this place has turned into a take out only restaurant! I grew up eating at their sit-down restaurant, so you can imagine my surprise when Google maps took me to their new take out location. I have to say, the way it was set up was pretty cute. It's a set up similar to Asian takeouts. On your left, they have refrigerated shelves with bento like boxes, snacks, and small plates. Here is what we got: Spiced pork, stew over rice ($6.95) - it was good! Maybe slightly on the salty side, but in general the pork was soft and tender. Beef noodle soup ($15.50) - really pretty good. The beef was soft (I've had softer ones though) and the broth was quite flavorful. We got them with thick noodles which made it an extra hearty soup! I would get it again. Sautéed rice vermicelli ($13.95) - really good! I wish there were slight more dried shrimp, but that is a personal preference. Pork and veggies were tasty. All in all, I think this is a good and solid place for take out!

Melissa F.

Yelp
Just nowhere near the same. I appreciate they have the old Taiwanese standbys like the braised pork rice and oyster omelette, but ...did they change owners or chefs? They no longer have my favorite dishes. The quality of the food has also gone downhill while the price has gone up. I got a Hakka chow fun and the rice noodles were in big clumps still while a bunch of meat (that didn't taste the most fresh by the way) was just thrown on top and kind of stirred in a bit. The braised pork to rice ratio was also way off at a 1:6. I also got a pork ball soup. Four pork balls in an onion oily broth for $8. Wow. I used to love this place and it was a must-try. I'd recommend it to friends coming to town, etc. What is going on?

Yelp
So Facing East used to be a staple for my household. Taiwanese stewed pork rice with it's nice oily rice from the pork lard was always so delicious and on point. I've been eating here since back when they opened. I remember meeting friends and having long wait times. The recipe and/or chef has definitely changed. We ordered the usual stewed pork rice and it was so dry. Not deliciously fatty as it should be and very lacking in flavor. The vermicelli noodles, another Taiwanese staple was the opposite and more oily than it should be, it did have flavor but seemed lacking in ingredients that used to be in these noodles. The oyster pancake was good, very few oysters but had good flavor. The pork belly bun was still delicious so definitely still get that. I want to say that the items were overpriced for sure which is fine if they were all good. Unfortunately for the price it feels like the food should be as good as it used to be and it's really not. I give them 2.5 stars because a couple of the items are still delicious but quality is definitely lacking. Rounded up to 3. I would get if I was in a pinch craving Taiwanese dishes but likely won't be in the rotation.

Richard C.

Yelp
I know facing east from my job they come to my job at Microsoft and they are a vendor. I always enjoy the food. It is so delicious. I love the beef stew with the pickled vegetables which is very delicious and the tea which I love so much and they have a chili sauce, which is very delicious as well. Every time I came on Tuesday I really enjoy when they come because I get to taste the delicious food and the vendors are always so nice and friendly

Jessica J H.

Yelp
Ah, Facing East. This place is takeout/delivery only, and it's delicious. I've only done lunch here, and I keep coming back! Easy to order online. Braised pork belly bento is my go to: delicious side of egg, pickled veggies, bokchoi (I don't even LIKE bokchoi! I devour it here), and succulent pork belly on rice. Drool worthy. The pork burger is YUM! Fried chicken? Please and thank you! The folks who work here are warm and friendly. They make sure you get utensils- conscientious! There isn't a dining room, but just take your lunch to a nearby park and appreciate the beauty of nature while you eat this beautiful food.

Annika C.

Yelp
I come for the milk jars that the coconut and mango drinks they make come in. The service I honestly cannot remember... but that is maybe because I just go for takeout. There food is pretty good and I would definitely recommend the bao buns. As for which one is better the coconut or the mango drink: I'd say the mango because its not too sweet. The coconut one has a coconut texture to it and can get lumpy. Still have the jars though: great jars! Tips: just go for takeout I visited when they had the bellevue location by bellevue square. I cannot say whether or not the new location is good.

Some G.

Yelp
Their braised beef and pork and their popcorn chicken is what they are known for and what you should get. Most other things on their menu is generally meh. Choose the dishes wisely and you will have a 5 star food experience. Go off the beaten path and you'll end up with generally subpar experience.

Emelina W.

Yelp
They used to have done-ins and they were really popular at that time. But now they only do takeouts and probably because they have cooperations with big tech companies, they do not provide dine-ins and move to a very small place in a very small plaza. They are not as delicious as before. Probably is because the hot dishes are always the best, and the takeouts always lose the flavor.

Jaime W.

Yelp
Best pork bun I've ever had! Loved the ground peanuts, pickled veggies, and perfectly tender pork belly overflowing out of the slightly sweet, fluffy bao buns. Definitely our favorite thing here. We also ordered the oyster pancake and beef rolls which are so hard to find. Everything had the traditional Taiwanese flavors. I think we found our favorite Taiwanese spot. We're coming back for the dinner.

Kristine N.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this little eatery on a casual weekday night. I ordered the Taiwanese Pork Burger, Spiced Pork Stew Over Rice, Milk Tea, and Beef Noodle Soup. I absolutely LOVED the pork burger, pork rice, and milk tea. Both dishes brought me right back to when I was eating these items in Taiwan, so a big thumbs up for authentic and taste. The burger had a nice big slice of pork with perfect ratios of fatty and lean meat and perfect garnishing of sweet peanuts and cilantro. I haven't had a Taiwanese pork burger this good in a long time! The pork rice was also just as good that was packed with amazing flavor and I always appreciate places that include yellow pickled radishes in their Taiwanese pork rices. The milk tea actually tasted like real brewed tea (instead of artificial powders) with milk. This has been probably one of the best milk teas I've had since coming to Washington. It also came in this super cute reusable glass jar. The beef noodle soup lacked flavor and was a bit too oily for me, in my opinion. It was alright, but compared to everything else, it definitely fell flat as there was nothing super notable which was a little surprising to me. Everything was a 5/5 stars but because of these noodles, I felt like I had to pull it down to a 4.5 (4 because Yelp doesn't do .5s)/5. Overall, Facing East has some pretty authentic and super tasty items on their menu. A small little joint, but definitely worth a try.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
This is our go to taiwanese restaurant. Updating review since they changed location and are take out only now. My favorite taiwanese dish is beef noodle soup and I've tried a variety of other taiwanese restaurants and found it to be the best here in terms of depth of flavor and meat quality. Our other staple dish is the green beans. Otherwise, we've rotated through a variety of dishes including the five spice chicken, braised pork over rice, pork bun/burger, chow fun, and I'm sure many others. It is always good. I'm glad that the quality it seems is still good despite changes. Before I felt prices were a little steep. Now, prices for all restaurants have gone up significantly--so comparatively I actually think now they are reasonable as their prices haven't gone as significantly higher as others. Perhaps operation costs are lower with being take out only. When they did have the old location with in house dining, it was filled with actual Chinese and Taiwanese customers and my first gen mom and cousins all enjoy the food.

Claire N.

Yelp
So happy we decided to try this place while in Bellevue. We were looking for a sit down restaurant and there's no indoor seating, but the woman was nice enough to bring out a table and chairs to sit outside! We split both the pork stew over rice and the braised egg tofu and both were incredible. The braised egg tofu has a curry-like sauce that goes really well with the pork and rice, and you have to get a side of the chili oil!

Rose B.

Yelp
I had higher expectations for this place but was a little disappointed. To be fair I only eaten there one time. We ordered Kung Pao, stir fried cabbage and some sort of beef noodle soup. We did request to not have food too spicy but felt everything was completely bland and without flavor. Also the Kung Pao was totally brown. They could have put a little red bell pepper for color without making it too spicy... We said "not too" spicy, not "no" spicy. Also everything was really oily. Maybe because we said we didn't want anything too spicy they assumed we wanted everything Americanized, loaded down with the oil and flavorless? They didn't bring our rice until we were pretty much done eating. No one came back to the table after they served us to ask us if everything was okay but it seems like no one does this anymore. If they would have I could have pointed out the missing item. I have several questions about distribution of duties between people who do food handling vs busing tables and how often they change their gloves?

Jen T.

Yelp
Great food. They are to go only. They don't sell dan dan noodles which was a little disappointing but we enjoyed the garlic green beans.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I was surprised that this is just a little takeout store that looks like it has stood for decades without remodeling. I haven't tried many of their items but I can say that their beef rolls are to die for! Their flavors are very authentic and quite addicting. I wish there were seats, even if it's just a table outside, but regardless I definitely recommend coming here for authentic Taiwanese food.

David C.

Yelp
My favorite spot in Washington/Seattle area. So hard to find. I went two days in a row and still missed it on the 2nd day. My cell phone service drops around there. It is located in a narrow strip mall next to some auto care and self-defense gym sort of places. Bro from Taiwan helped me with my order the first time. I got a Taiwanese burger and pork meatball soup & a cris. tea (sold separately in a glass container). I loved the three golf ball sized meatballs and thought the bao was A+. I think I also got a mango sago that day. It was also a la cart (separately in a glass container). The second day we got a railroad pork rice, the pork meatball in soup, and two items a la carte. This is key because they were the best items: eggplant and the #1 item was the sauteed rice vermicelli. WTF can I say? This rice vermicelli is so good I had to ask my mom what up with it? I also tried the milk tea sold in the glass container and it was bomb. Items I have to try next time include the Tainan Shrimp Roll and anything they have in that little display counter that they constantly refresh. This place is the best. Gives me memories of Taiwan that aren't even mine lol

TianChee S.

Yelp
Hard to pass down a Taiwanese joint if the reviews are looking highly praised. They didn't offer indoor dining at the time so we just got it to go and ate inside our hotel. The lady that runs the shop on that day was very nice and had a very motherly personality that just warmed our heart. They offered us a a complementary woodear salad or a sweet and sour soup which was so nice. I am a sucker for sweet and sour soup so I got that! It was very tasty and had plenty of ingredients in it. So good! I also got their beef shank salad and that was fire! It was flavored so well, the beef shank was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The greeds were finely sliced and gave a nice refreshing crunch with it. I would order this again without hesitation. I also got their beef noodle soup which was very good too! The noodle was cooked perfectly, the beef was nice and tender! Not the typical spicy beef noodle I am accustomed to but it was still very good. I would order this one again. We also tried their oyster pancake and that was very good and tasty too. Generous amounts of oysters that were cooked well. I usually am not fan of oyster pancake as I personally would prefer just eating oysters standalone but they did a very good job here. I would eat this again here! We also tried out their pork belly sandwich which was highly praised, it was very nice as well. I would definitely come here again! The lady was super nice and the food was superb!

Yelp
SO GOOD! They just moved to a new location and right now only doing takeouts only. You can order online, the QR code they provided was good because the menu is very detailed and has pictures. Taiwanese oyster pancake - 8/10 very good! Would order this again. It's like glutenous rice (sticky pancake), oyster not as fresh so it was kind of smelly, with the red sauce over it, and eggs Green beans - 8/10 Pork Burger - 8/10 smaller than I expected it to be. It has cilantro, crisped nuts, sweet/salty pork belly, salty vegetables 5 spiced beef wrap - 7/10 just ok. A little oily, the wrap is kind of thick Shrimp pancake - 9/10 better than oyster pancake because it is more fresh Century egg with silken tofu - 9/10 SO good! Very garlicky and a little too salty. But overall excellent! Highly recommend their golden kimchi!

Yelp
This is my go-to place for Taiwanese place. Facing East is located in the Belgate Plaza, a few streets away from Bellevue Square Mall. Parking is extremely limited and the spots are also very tight. My favorite dishes to order are the Spiced Pork Stew over Rice, Five Spice Fried Chicken with basil, and Silky Tofu with aged duck egg. The Pork over Rice ('lu rou fan') is a Taiwanese staple. In my opinion, the fried chicken is the best at Facing East compared it to its competitor, HardWok Cafe. The fried chicken is flavorful and crunchy. The tofu is a cold dish, but an excellent side to balance out flavors.

Yelp
Overpriced & average food. It's a bit disappointing as I marked this place for a while and wanted to try. Lu Rou Fan only has a few tiny little bit meat sprinkled on the top.
