"Hosting the “Big O-lympic Drag Brunch and Show” on June 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event includes a 360-degree photo booth, a DJ, performances from top Seattle drag queens, and an emcee to be announced; a $90 ticket (plus tax) includes food and a glass of sparkling wine, and a portion of proceeds benefit Seattle Pride." - Harry Cheadle
"Afternoon tea at the Fairmont Olympic is where you go for a fresh Instagram post or when an Eloise At The Plaza-obsessed niece comes to town. Sitting in the gorgeous hotel lobby is a lovely setup, with attentive servers and an air of sophistication. But the tea is mediocre and so is the food. The finger sandwiches tend to be dry and the baked goods fall flat. Come here if you must for the ambiance, but then grab lunch somewhere else afterward." - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo

"No hotel in Seattle causes guests to instinctively dress up quite like the Fairmont does: a century‑old civic icon with marble columns, chandeliers, and grand rooms that still stage weddings, galas, and massive holiday displays. I found recent restorations have sharpened the public rooms and refreshed guest floors while keeping the hotel’s Italian‑Renaissance bones intact, and ordering a martini at the stunning Olympic Bar feels like adulting at its best. The indoor swimming pool with a massive adjacent hot tub is the place to be on rainy winter days." - Jessica Voelker
"The Fairmont Olympic has two flagship restaurants, and both are open from 1 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Shuckers is on the 4th and Seneca side of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, with a ton of dark oak to go along with the seafood, making for a timelessly scenic way to celebrate. The prix fixe menu here features main courses like citrus-brined turkey, prime rib, and more, and eggnog creme brulee for dessert. The pricing starts at $95 and $50 for kids ages 5 to 12. To book, go here. Inside the hotel from the University Street entrance, The George is no less extravagant than Shuckers but with a distinctly lighter aesthetic of an ivory-toned neoclassical base with colorful modern accents. It’s one of the prettiest spaces in the city. Here, the prix fixe menu is family-style (with a two-person minimum) and features starters like citrus-roasted beets, mains like a decadent grilled beef tenderloin Oscar, and more. It starts at $85, and like at Shuckers, there’s a lower starting price of $50 for kids ages 5 to 12. For reservations at The George, go here." - Mark DeJoy
