Fairplay is a solid go-to bar in North Park, whether it's to watch a game, get a bite, or just have a drink with friends. Lots of TVs, lots of space, and often lots of people, you really can't go too wrong here. I really need to try more of the menu, but their burgers are really solid, and they make a pretty decent old fashioned. Also, the staff is usually pretty nice. To be honest, I don't know why I don't go there more often.
I guess my biggest gripes are that there are no menus nor table service, which seems weird for a place this size. As for menus, I really feel like the QR code menu is a pandemic relic that needs to die. We go to restaurants and bars typically to be social, and forcing our attention to our phones is antithetical to the activity. Plus, it's just plain annoying. Print out a few pieces of paper for us, please! As for table service, I've only sat at the bar, so the lack of table service hasn't been an issue personally, but I think the constant getting up and down for every bit of food and drink would get a bit annoying and, again, take away from the social aspect of going out.
In spite of these gripes, Fairplay is a really good spot to grab a bite or a drink and watch and game or hang out. It's definitely been a nice addition to the North Park scene.
