Chicago’s New Restaurant Openings, Winter 2024 | Eater Chicago

"A rare halal restaurant serving Uyghur cuisine in Chicago, Faiza offers dumplings, noodles, stir-fries, and grilled meats that represent the flavors of China’s persecuted Turkic Muslim minority." - Ashok Selvam

The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"We recently checked out Faiza. Read our review here. Faiza is a new Uyghur restaurant in North Park. Besides Central Asian dishes like samsa, manti, and lagman, they also have a variety of kebabs and salads." - john ringor, veda kilaru

Faiza - Review - North Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"If the colorful tapestries and ceramics at this solid North Park Uyghur spot don’t grab your attention, the common sight of forkfuls of noodles extending into the air will. Each stretch of hand-pulled noodles rising from a zesty, cumin-flavored broth is like a Bat Signal telling you to get Faiza's tasty lagman, which is meant to be shared like most dishes here. You’ll also want to ensure tender manti with spiced ground beef and some kabobs make it to your table. Just know that you’ll probably be competing for space with other groups of friends or families during peak meal times, so come early (or late, since they’re open until midnight)." - John Ringor

Amazing food, great service, and warm atmosphere! I had a fantastic experience at Faiza Chicago. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced — truly comforting and delicious. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and quick, making the whole visit smooth and enjoyable. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with authentic décor that adds to the experience. Highly recommended! I’ll definitely come back again.

I included pictures but they simply can't do justice. You need to come and try the food for yourself. It's amazing! The staff is very attentive and welcoming. It's a wonderful dining experience. Fruit tea and honey cake are a must try. Greek salad and dumplings are the best I have ever tried. I just tried one of the soups recommended by the server and it also hit the spot. This spot and well worth travelling for!

Excited to try Uyghur cuisine! We got the very dense and aromatic mixed fruit tea that’s served in a large pot with a tealight candle underneath. Dough appetizers that you dip in yogurt was a wonderful experience. The Plov lamb and rice dish was very flavorful. The sliced tomatoes with dill was also delightful and had a different taste that wants me to get more. The lamb shorpo taste similar to other dishes I’ve tried, but was also very pleasant. The service didn’t speak much English which was fine for me but my mother who has too many questions was left with much unanswered ones lol. If you are a picky eater or want to know whether the meat is kosher or sugar is organic, then maybe avoid this place. But if you are a true food adventurer, this place will open up your buds to wondrous encounters.

At Faiza Uygur restaurant, the portions are huge and the food is delicious! The server spoke Turkish, which made me feel right at home. Great prices too.

Update: A return to this great restaurant was rewarded with more awesome food. This time we had Lamb Kurak and Goulash. The portions are huge, so bring a container for leftovers. Also, as noted in another review, give the wait person cash as they don't receive a tip if you pay by credit card. We had the Fried Boso Lagman and Chicken Roaster. I hope I named them correctly. Anyway, both dishes were out of this world good! I have to go back to try the Lamb Kurdak. It looks soooo yummy! This is an outstanding choice for Kyrgyz food.

My family has always enjoyed Faiza, and we live walking distance from the restaurant. Two nights ago my sons and an out of town friend ate at the restaurant. They've always had a great experience there until the other night. They ordered the lamb chops and said they were terrible. They were very tough and too chewy. Either over cooked or old meat. They called the server over to let them know and they even asked for a manager to discuss a reduction on the bill. They did nothing, made it sound like nothing could be done, nor did the server send anyone over to make good on the situation. A manager never came to the table. They were forced to pay full price for a bad meal. Based on this bad experience, they will not be dining there anymore. Too bad for Faiza, they just lost some regular customers from the neighborhood.
