This place opened just before Christmas, I think, but I haven't had a chance to pop in yet. It's within a couple blocks of my home and though there have been many restaurants in this location (and next door) in the decade-plus that I've lived here, I haven't actually been interested in the ones there before.
We ordered a few things to get a taste for it. The chicken sandwich, BLT, and chili all came home with me in addition to a couple milkshakes. I was really, really pleased with the BLT because I forgot to ask for the bacon to be well done, but it was actually already well cooked, not a bunch of flimsy, half-cooked meat. It shouldn't be something that deserves praise at a restaurant but so many don't actually cook bacon thoroughly that I have to give props to those that do! I liked the chipotle may in place of standard mayo; it isn't all that hot but it adds a nice flavor. They also don't use too much mayo, which is a big problem at many places that do a BLT. I didn't have any of the chicken sandwich but it was good too. I really like the bread they used for both, too. The portions were large. Sandwiches come with French fries, an there were a lot of them. I struggled to finish everything. Milkshakes were good, though I understand the black cherry was not quite as strong cherry flavor as might be expected.
The restaurant was clean, and service was fine. The owner's teens were running the front and got everything correct--the chicken sandwich for a picky eater didn't have anything it wasn't supposed to. I would eat here again (or have takeout from here again), and would be curious to give their weekend breakfast a try, too.
