"This small bakery just west of North Miami on 441 has our favorite Haitian patties in Miami. The thin puff pastry is so fragile that it comes apart in delicate shards as soon as you go in for a bite. The spicy beef filling provides a little wake-up jolt, while the rich, buttery layers of pastry will keep you satisfied until your next meal. Family Bakery can only accommodate about two people at a time, and on weekday mornings you’ll regularly see the overflow of customers forming a line into the parking lot. The same line forms again right after work with people buying loaves of bread for dinner. So just avoid those times, and you’ll be in and out in minutes." - carlos c olaechea, ryan pfeffer

"Of all the Haitian bakeries in Miami, this place stands out for its amazing Haitian-style bread and savory pate. You’ll regularly see the overflow of customers forming a line in the parking lot because the bakery can only accommodate about two people at a time. They seem to constantly have fresh loaves of dense, rich Haitian bread coming out of the oven, and it’s hard to not tear into the warm loaf while walking back to your car. Their beef pates, however, are the real draw. The thin puff pastry is so fragile that it comes apart in delicate shards as soon as you go in for a bite." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

My boyfriend George raved about this place & couldn’t wait to take me there. All the staff were great & I witnessed that this was more than a bakery to George. He spoke so highly of them, especially Jamal, stating what a great man he was. I witnessed Jamal & other staff come out and talk to their customers like family just like many Lebanese do 🥰 They had some of the best manaeesh & fool I have ever had! We even got food to go. I will definitely be back & recommending this place!

Me and my husband stopped here 15 minutes before closing hoping that they had some mini pizzas left. The lady at the front was extremely kind and showed up the options left and told us she could make us anything we wanted on the menu even though they were about to close. We ordered our maneesh and they came out so quickly. Some of the freshest, high quality maneesh I’ve had in a long time. They were delicious and we will definitely be coming again!

Highly recommend the zaatar and cheese Jay Special-- made fresh to order, it's better than a deep dish Chicago pizza, my kids loved it. This is a hidden jam, will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
In short, over the many years and competitions, they are the best and originals. We always enjoyed this place since we moved to Michigan in 1995.

Yelp
I gave this place another shot only 10 years after my bad experience I liked the Lahm Bi Ajeen aka Sfiha. I had one with egg which I really enjoyed. The lady working there was extremely friendly. Yes, I would definitely come back now.

Always greeted with a smile. They go above and beyond to get your order right and guarantee your order. Definitely worth every penny! Check out the picks and

Yelp
I just had dinner catered for 20 but honestly it could have fed double that from Family Bakery last night and they went above and beyond from the moment I placed my order to the moment they delivered it. The food was just amazing and here's what was on the menu. Hummus was a perfect consistency and the ratio of ingredients were . Tabouli again on point and so much tomatoes def very generous, most restaurants don't do that. The rice and lamb perfectly cooked. Kafta perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. Chicken tawook lightly seasoned per my request, was absolutely delicious. My entire family raved The whole night about dinner and kept asking where it was from. Thank you family bakery! All I have is a video that it won't let me post so I'm sorry for lack of pics but I got a shot of the hummus and tabouli for an idea.

Yelp
I went to this place a little while back to get some food and had the most amazing experience ever. It was the kafta sandwich. It was amazing. Then I went there today, and the sandwich was good, but not amazing. The reason that that other sandwich was so darn great was because of the bread. I inquired while I was in there, and she said that it wasn't the typical. So let me let you in on this little secret: Ask for your sandwich (shawarma, kafta, whatever) on the pie bread. You will not be disappointed. You may also never want anyone but Family Bakery to make your sandwich for you again.

Yelp
Celebrating 25 years really soon a Family Bakery with a large eating area, really cool place folks. Wowed by the in house made Sojak my favorite loved the heat level of the spice. Had Pepperoni n Cheese long Flatbread, Rice n assortment of fantastic stuffed breads. Find them on Instagram also. Such fun friendly place, outstanding service, we hooked a must visit. This place has thousands of followers and hundreds each day eat inside and mucho more to go orders. One of the oldest Authentic Middle Eastern Bakeries location Southfield n Warren Family Bakeries prices are very low-cost compared to many others. We regular customers for a couple decades truly a hidden gem. Find them on Facebook, Yelp n Google. #familybakerydetroit @familybakeryrestaurant #sojuk #flatbread #letsguide #motorcitymunchers

Yelp
Let me start by saying that this little deli/grocery/restaurant is amazing! I am not normally a huge fan of hummus, and there aren't enough fresh baked pita to get enough of it in my mouth! The wraps are mind blowing and the service is fantastic. I only get to go about once a year, and crave it the rest of the time. So reasonably priced as well! Neighborhood is a little sketchy, but I will risk it, every single time!!!

Yelp
I've come here many times with my father but today was my last day for myself and many of my friends. I have never been yelled at or insulted by a business owner before like I have today. While I maintained a calm demeanor and conversational tone, he began to raise his voice and yell to the point of spitting in my face. I had a question about a significant difference in the price of the same order I've been placing every time I come and kindly asked the owner about the difference. He suggested that I'm probably remembering wrong and that I don't know what I ordered, or that there was a mistake the last 20+ times that I came. When I calmly tried explaining the core of the issue (inconsistency, no posted prices, and an unexplained 60% price jump on one of the items) he began to yell at both my father and insult us saying "if $5-6 will change your life I'll give it to you right now" and "it's business, I can change prices and do whatever". Despite managing the place, he claimed he cannot do anything about it and that I just have to accept the prices he makes up even though they are not posted. Rather than simply explain and say "I'm sorry, the price has changed from what you've been paying before" he chose the route of insulting us and treating us poorly. It's sad to see, as I genuinely loved to come here. ***However, Mariam, the lady at the front, is an absolute angel. She is incredibly sweet and such a pleasure to talk to. I genuinely loved seeing her every time I walked in and was a big part of why I came.***

Yelp
It's a bakery... It's a small market... It's a restaurant... It's Superman? No. I don't know what to make of this place. A few rows of tables/booths line the right hand side of the "restaurant". A couple of refrigerator cases partially filled with food inhabit the middle of the "bakery". A few shelving units with pantry items line a wall or two plus there's an olive "bar". What I do know is that they serve lunch. The "menu" is over one of the refrigerator cases. Pies (zaatar, veggie, meat, etc.) are on the left hand side. Three sizes. Wraps in the middle of the menu. Sandwiches (chicken shwarma, kafta, falafel, and shish kabob) and salads (fattoush, lebanese, and house) on the right. They serve eggs too (I can't recall if part of a wrap or pie or both). Thought I saw a diner with a plate of scrambled eggs. Are they trying to be a diner? Nothing else on the menu suggests typical American breakfast/diner/coney fare. One more tidbit about the menuboard - it doesn't show any prices... Onto the food - they bring you a basket of warm pita and garlic sauce when you sit down. I had a chicken shwarma sandwich which was good. Freshly made. I asked for without pickles so they offered to include tomatoes instead. Tomatoes were very pale. Also had the fattoush salad which was good. Tomato, cucumber, pita chips, and lettuce. Waitress is also the counter clerk/cashier. My bill was $5.95 plus $1 for a can of Coca-Cola. It's a value lunch.

Yelp
This place has awsome service don't know what DetroitR is talking about. Been coming here for ten years maybe longer and never waited more than 5 minutes for hot fresh food of all kinds.

Yelp
A co-worker of mine regularly brought trays of warm pocket breakfast "sandwiches" from this restaurant in to work. He would bring pepperoni/cheese, potato/egg, egg/cheese, etc. They are dough wrapped around fillings. Everyone loved them! So my family went there today en route to Greenfield Village (they are located right off M39 / SField Fwy)- the clerk was really nice and explained each pocket to me and which fillings were in there since there were about 10 different kinds and they were not labeled. She was very nice. For $10.50, we bought 1 broccoli pocket, 1 egg/cheese pocket, 1 spicy potato pocket, and 2 pepperoni and cheese pockets. We also bought 2 small bags of chips and a bottle of water. It was the perfect small meal to share at Greenfield Village - great flavors, fresh, different, and so easy to eat since it is a pocket. I can't wait to go back. Please cheek out this unique and charming spot - there is seating if you wish to eat there and they sell many different cold drinks.

Yelp
Best middle-eastern bakery in michigan, hands down. They have the 'manooshi' pies they are really the best around and ask for them "long" style. Get the cheese or sojuk - you won't be disappointed!! ITS AMAZING!!!!
