Jason was so accommodating and personable. A genuine manager. Tonya was so attentive and just made drinks with love. Also. they got a rush and handled it ao gracefully. Love it, can’t wait to come back specially during baseball season! Thank you!

First time at this spot right across from petco park. The pizza and wings are so delicious I left craving for more. Jason the manager was very hospitable and accommodating. Tonya made some exceptional drinks and was very attentive.

This spot is awesome. Easy 5 stars. We had the My Boy Blue Pizza, Not your Average Cobb Salad, Crunchy Potatoes, Steak Bites, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunchkins for dessert. Everything we had was amazing but our favorite was the pizza. Who would have thought that blueberries and pear on a pizza tasted so good, but it is a MUST TRY! The cocktails were incredible, and the staff was so nice and accommodating. We went when there wasnt a baseball game across the street so it was a great laid back atmosphere. Its a huge space, so its also a great spot to go before a game for a pizza and drink. Go try this place. You wont be disappointed. 10/10 will eat here again.

Pizza is truly good. Also give those shakshuka pizza bite things a try. They need to figure out how to do lunch specials with slices, etc. Not sure they'll survive the Padres off season when you can only get a whole pie.

We ordered pizza to-go. It hit the spot. We walked in to pick it up and found the location pretty cool. Definitely seems like a fun place to hang out. We ordered pretty standard varieties of pizzas (pepperoni and meat lovers). I would be tempted to try some of their more unique pizzas next time. They were definitely shareable pizzas - we had enough for another meal later. My wife is gluten-free and enjoyed the gluten-free crust.

Chandler was wonderful to work with in hosting a casual private event in the dining bar area. It was the perfect space for the thirty of us and allowed space for people to mingle and share small group conversations. Courtney and Tonya rounded out top notch service keeping us well supplied with food and drinks. If you are looking for a private dining experience near the convention center, I highly recommend Far Corner!

Since we live downtown this is just a hop skip and a jump for us and we used to go here when it was called basic pizza it’s still a great place to have a drink during a game or watch some sports. I do have to say not much has changed the food is still good and it’s always loud but the service is not very good the waitress never came back and I had to hunt her down to pay come to find out she left for the night smh? Anyways I do love the upgrades they made the most particular one being the bathroom and thank you lord for that because the old ones where shot. It will still be our local watering hole for beer and pizza so stop by and check it out.

My husband and I loved Basic and as sad as it was to see it go, Far Corner pizza is really good! I've also ordered the apps and salads and calzones a few times. We never leave without the cinnamon sugar dessert - we either bring it home to our kids or neighbors bc they are insanely delicious! It's fun to be there before and after Padre games when the energy is really high, but they installed a giant TV which makes it fun to go any time. I really hope the neighborhood can rally around this new restaurant- we love it! Try to get the table by the bar if you have a group, it feels VIP!

Far Corner is exactly the kind of neighborhood bar you hope to have nearby. Omar is one of the many standouts, as he is dialed in behind the bar creating craft cocktails, makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time, and keeps the energy fun without ever missing a beat. The whole staff deserves props, from security at the front door, front of the house, kitchen, and ownership. They're fast, friendly, and clearly enjoy working together, which makes the service smooth and the vibe even better. Food here is no afterthought, it's highly orchestrated to be the best around. It's way beyond typical bar food; fresh, organic, made from scratch, and pairs perfect with whatever you're drinking - especially their great priced boilermaker combos; I've a favorite - but try them all so I don't lead you! All in all, Far Corner nails it. Great people, great food (don't sleep on the Cinnamon Toast Krunchkins), and an atmosphere that makes it way too easy to stick around for "just one more."

We stopped in for a quick beer and to catch the end of the game. Omar was awesome and by far the best part of our afternoon and we enjoyed the service and vibe he provided. Looking forward to coming back, maybe we'll grab a bite to eat next time

Food: the pepperoni pizza was good. I have no complaints on the food. Ambiance: they could have had better music selection. the esthetic of the restaurant was eye catching and nice. Service: Atrocious. My friend and I came to have dinner. We sat down at the tables. we sat there for almost 30-40 minutes without being served. Multiples servers walked past us and checked on the surrounding tables and did not say anything to us. A server finally came to the table to provide menus and refreshments. After we ordered it took almost another 30-40 minutes for our food. overall made the experience unenjoyable and would not go back.

Finally came back in to sit down at the restaurant and my honest review is that the pizza is great, the drinks are good, and price point is good, but the service here simply isn't. We came in at 8pm and immediately our server said the kitchen was closing so we had to put our order in, which is fine, so we asked what time they were closing and he said "I'm trying to get out of here within an hour so yeah it would be great for you to be quick". The restaurant closes at 11pm.... I just went through and read several reviews here that also share similar sentiments and the responses from the restaurant owner on every bad review have now put me off from this place. I hope they can work on their service and understand they replaced a very beloved pizza place in East Village, so yes the bar will be higher for them but Yelp reviews are here to help restaurants learn and grow and hear from the people, not to leave snarky responses when given criticism.

Adding another star. I think they had a bit of a rough start. Still working out kinks (like serving water and not sprite....sprite has bubbles...wasn't even soda water. Pure water) hey it happens. Have been in for a few meet ups and trying some new items. Starting to look busier when I walk by. Finding their way to be a great addition to the neighborhood.

We came here to watch the last minutes of a basketball game and grabbed some drinks. It's roomy inside with a pool table and music. Bf got the Tropical Tranq and friend got Old fashion. Nice ambiance to watch a game and chill with friends. They also have a food menu!

Excellent pizza place that is easily walkable to. Their establishment is very clean and well decorated. The staff was extremely friendly too. We went with a large group and got great service. I highly recommend the meat lovers pizza here. Of all the options we got, this one was the most popular one! The crust was done very nicely too. I highly recommend far corner if you're a big pizza person.

I came here on a Sunday around 1:45 PM and had no trouble finding a seat. The space is big and well laid out, with a dining area on the right, high tops on the left, bar seating, and even sofas. TVs are everywhere, which made it easy to keep up with three football games and the Padres at the same time. The staff were great. Chandler took my order right away at the bar and had some solid recommendations. The tap list is excellent with fair prices. I ordered the Almost Too Far pizza, which was huge, sliced into eight pieces with a crisp crust. I ate four there and the rest reheated perfectly at home. The only downside is that they don't offer smaller portions of pizza. Not everyone wants to spend $30-$40 on a full pie when just grabbing a bite during a game. If they added single slices or smaller options, it'd be perfect. Otherwise, it's a fun, spacious spot with friendly service, plenty of TVs, and a great vibe for watching sports. Oh, and a plus is that dogs are allowed inside!

Far corner took over the former Basic Pizza location. Similar to basic pizza, they have a fairly limited menu of pizza, two salads, a calzone, or two side options. The space hasn't changed and has a large interior with bar, lounge, or table seating, as well as an outdoor deck. Service was good. We ordered the Ceasar salad to start and the Margherita pizza to share. The Ceasar salad was different in that it came with large pieces of romaine lettuce for you to cut and loaded with Parmesan cheese. The pizza is a thin crust style and large enough to share (with leftovers). I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It is a good neighborhood spot to grab a pizza and a drink while watching a game.

Get ready to find your new favorite spot in East village! I came here about a week after opening to check it out as it's near my office, and i had occasionally visited Basic Pizza a few times, when they were in this building. I'm a lover of pizza, so I had high hopes for this new place, and fortunately they were met! After reviewing the menu and talking with our server Casey, we decided to go with the almost too far Pizza. They let us know that was one of their most popular sellers, and after eating it I can definitely see why. The crust was light and Airy on the inside and crispy on the outside just like I like it. The hot honey flavor they add is just enough to give it that little something extra, and make it unique. As we were eating we met the owner Max, who I can tell is very passionate about his pizza, and It also shows up in the taste and presentation. He explained to us how the pizza they make won't leave you with that heavy feeling you normally get after loading up on carbs, because of the way they do the fermentation process. They take days with their dough, and don't just roll it up and throw it in the oven. I'll admit, I was a little bit skeptical about this, and I even commented that I'd find out later today, but Lo and behold he was right. I did not feel that need to crash out after, like I normally would after loading up on Pizza. This fact alone makes me want to come back here more often. Luckily enough during our visit, we met their in-house photographer Kai, who was extremely nice, and offered us some of the bites he had been photographing. We tried the tri-tip steak bites, which had a nice smoky flavor and we're not chewy. We also tried their potatoes, which I appreciate are not fried. They come with a little bit of aioli on them, bits of bacon-like pork and some scallions. The only thing I felt they could have added, would be some drizzled butter, maybe something infused. The last thing we tried was the salad. While good, this one seemed like it was missing something to elevate it, and I'm not a huge fan of the type of apple they used. I do need to say i really liked the inside setup as well. It's kind of like getting two restaurants in one, the left side is more of the bar area you might hang out with your co-workers or friends, and the right side is set up more family-friendly like your local pizza Eatery. It's separated in the middle by a cozy spot with sofas and tables. They still have the patio dining just like Basic did. As far as cocktails they have a full range of options along with several draft beers that are a pretty good deal at $7. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I tried the mother earth Cali creamin, and I did really enjoy how smooth it was. I also had an espresso martini, which is typically my go-to drink and it was pretty solid here. There are several other drinks on my list to try that look amazing, including the Selma and The Perennial buck. Overall we really enjoyed everything we ate and this is definitely going to be our go to spot for Pizza. I was told they will be likely expanding the menu a bit, and I can't wait to see what they add. I'll be going back soon for the Calzone, as a friend of mine gave it rave reviews. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, I think you'll really enjoy it. The staff were all amazing as well, and they were asking for feedback on the menu, which shows that they are looking to really please their clientele.

Was quoted 15-20 minutes for my pizza and waited 50 minutes with them asked what my order was 20 minutes into the order. Then once I received it they told us we couldn't wait there wouldn't let us sit outside. Extremely rude after making us wait and not letting us at least sit and wait for our ride.

After a padres game this is definitely a popular spot to go to far a drink and food and I loved the old spot that was here so I was excited to check out what they did since it was taken over. They kept the same concept which is nice so we decided to go for a pizza. We were with the meat lovers which I loved because it wasn't overwhelming with a ton of different meats. It had pepperoni, sausage and guancille on it and it was pretty good! I will say it was a bit on the salty side but I enjoyed it a lot and the crust was perfect and I am not typically a crust person. We got some drinks on happy hour which was nice to see that they had a happy hour after a padres game. Overall it really wasn't too busy for after a Friday night game so I would definitely go back and try some of their other interesting pizzas they have on the menu.

Their gluten free crust is really good. My non-gf friend loved it. It was crunchy in a good way and not soggy.

New favorite meal unlocked, and it's not pizza! Try the not so basic cob salad and add the steak bites. A phenomenal pairing of two delicious things. The salad is heartt and has lots of added goodies. The steak bites are smoky and delicious. Do the dressing and any sauces on the side and you'll thank me later!

I know a lot of people had strong feelings when Basic closed, myself included. It had a loyal following and a great vibe. But let me say this: Far Corner is the perfect replacement. It keeps the same essential layout and industrial-chic atmosphere, but the product...way better! This is hands down the best pizza I've had in San Diego, and I've done the full tour (Luigi's, Prince Street, Bronx, Sisters, Massachusetts Mike's, etc). Nothing compares. The crust here is the closest I've found to a true NYC slice: crisp on the outside, light and chewy on the inside, and foldable without the toppings sliding off (shoutout to Basic lol). We went with the Almost Too Far: pepperoni, stracciatella, hot honey, basil, and shaved parmesan. Absolutely nailed it. I love that they add the basil after baking (fresh and fragrant, not charred). The flavors blended together magically with the sauce, and that crust is just on another level. I dont usually finish the crust, but this thing had me begging for more. Each pizza appears to be about 14" (equivalent to a "Large"). The options are pretty eclectic too, just check out the menu (blueberries??). They also do BYO which is always a plus. We also shared the Classic Caesar, which is served steak-style with whole romaine leaf filets. Super flavorful with what tasted like a hint of sage (?) in the dressing which is unique and added a brightness to it I didnt know I needed. Easily enough for two to share as an appetizer. Craft beers on draft, chill vibes, friendly staff, and sports on every TV. Def hitting this place up after every Padres game. If you're still mourning Basic--don't.

We had a great time at Far Corner. I was at a conference in San Diego and was asked to put together a group of people for drinks and dinner. We all met at here, the staff was very helpful and allowed us to put together tables for our group of 10. Allie, our server was amazing. The pizza was delicious, but most of all the service was spectacular.

Exceptional Dining Experience Every Visit!!! My family and I have dined at this establishment on multiple occasions, and each visit has been consistently outstanding. The service is attentive and professional, the pizzas are flavorful and well-crafted, and the ambiance is warm and inviting -- perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings. Most notably, we hosted a surprise birthday celebration for my daughter here, organized by her husband. The evening was a complete success. The food was exceptional, the drinks were generously served, and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Max, whose wit and hospitality added a personal touch to the event. He even treated us to complimentary Old Fashioned cocktails, which were expertly made and thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, this restaurant has exceeded our expectations every time. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Absolutely love Far Corner! I came to padres last game and wanted pizza - this new spot gave new life to a fading location. The pizza is fresher, the staff is super friendly and service is accommodating. Highly recommend the fennel/spinach salad with strawberry's. Great balance with the meat lovers pie. Secret drink: Wilde Gin Hibiscus Spritz. Cool ambiance - can't wait to bring our golf league for post round drinks

Thought I was going to Basic Pizza. So sad it's not there anymore. Service is decent, nothing extraordinary. Ordered a pizza, once it came you could tell it was waiting under the heat lamp because the cheese was very chewy. Crust is decent. It wasn't busy, the staff seemed preoccupied hanging out with each other and eating food behind the bar. If I come back it won't be for the food. I'll wait for basic pizza to reopen at their new location.

usually don't write reviews until I've tried a place multiple times and sampled different menu items. That was the case with Far Corner Pizza. I've visited a few times since they opened, hoping things would improve -- but unfortunately, they haven't. On my first visit, I ordered a salad and built my own pizza. I have to say, it was one of the worst pizzas I've had. The cocktail selection was mediocre at best, and the drinks were just average. As for the food, the only redeeming quality was the pizza dough -- but even that was overwhelmed by the amount of salt used. Every bite tasted overly salty. Even the 16-inch pizza, which is a good size for sharing, arrived soggy and overcooked. I don't understand how something so simple can be so poorly executed. Yesterday, I gave it another chance and tried the vegetarian pizza -- which add pepperoni on it for kick :) . It was absolutely awful. I couldn't taste the mushrooms or vegetables at all; everything was drowned in salty cheese. The presentation looked fine, but the flavor was just terrible. I used to love this location when it was owned by the previous team -- they served rustic, simple, and delicious pizza. I've heard the new owner might be the son of the former owner, but whatever changes have been made, they haven't been for the better. Unless they seriously improve the food, I don't see this place lasting. There's nothing here to crave or look forward to. Sadly, it's just not worth your time or money.

40 minutes for pizza and still waiting. Asked the waitress about an update on food and she said she went into the kitchen and "they yelled at her." Why is kitchen staff yelling at the waitress? What kind of operation are they running here? WWE is today and it doesn't seem like they planned for large groups. I come here frequently but this is the last time.

This place was packed, great vibes, managed to snag a couple bar seats with some friends before the Padres game. Had probably the best tasting Old Fashioned I've had in a minute. The bartender Omar was great, definitely will be back for some tasty Cocktails.

Allie our server was Amazing! The pizza was good but I felt the Cobb Salad was lacking in flavor- it needs more seasoning and salt. Very Cool Spot though...definitely a super nice hangout place with friends.

I was very disappointed with the service. We initially ordered pizzas to take to our apartment, which is just a block away. At the last minute, we decided to dine in and even planned to order another pizza and drinks. However, the manager asked us to leave, stating that once you place a takeout order, you cannot eat there--even though the restaurant was completely empty. I find it unacceptable that a manager was not able to provide a reasonable solution to accommodate a new customer.

Stopped by here for quick dinner before heading to Masquerade Party at Comic-Con. The food, atmosphere & staff were outstanding. First time here so highly recommend to visit. Music & TV with Padres winning plus Dodgers loosing was the bonus. My favorite is the Steak Bites.

A group of us stopped in for a cocktails before heading to watch the Padres. The happy hour prices for cocktails and shots can't be beat. I opted for ranch water and a tequila shot. Omar was behind the bar and told us about the tequila selection. Great times were had before heading to petco park (which is right across the street). Location, service and prices cannot be beat if you're headed to watch the Padres.

The pizza dough itself is so delicious, regardless of the toppings it will be delicious. I have tried a couple of different variations and honestly what a great pizza joint. Not to mention the location and the service. My server Drea did an amazing job and making sure my partner and I were taken care of. Will be coming back. Don't miss out on downtowns best pizza joint. The ambiance is also amazing.

It was our first time coming here and we had such a amazing time!! The pizza was to die for and the craft cocktails were surprisingly elevated and delicious! Taylor was our bartender and he was so knowledgeable and funny. Incredible service, incredible pizza, incredible atmosphere, what more could you ask for A+

If I could give them 37 stars I would. I've lived down the street from this location for over 18 years and yes I was a Basic Pizza devotee/regular. And sure I was sad when Basic was gone. But this place is fiiiiiire. The pizza -- especially the crust was amazing. I went with a standard pepperoni, cheese, mushroom, and garlic pie and was blown away (especially after reading so many "negative" reviews). Also pizza in San Diego is underwhelming overall. But I gotta say, this pizza had the perfect amount of "slice grease," the toppings were plentiful and as I said, the crust is perfect. If I wanted to be on TLC on 600lb life and see Dr. Now, I'd eat here everyday. I get it, you're sad Basic is gone. I am too. But leave a review based on the actual food and service (also the service here is great too). Be a hater to your friends and family, but support your local restaurants that serve actual great food.

I went yesterday before the game. Slow bartender service, sadly no more mashed potato pizza which was the best thing Basic had, and they let children in who were playing around swinging pool sticks, I had to move to a different area for safety.

Far Corner is 100% one of my favorite spots in SD. I come here all the time. I've got a gluten allergy and their gluten-free dough is actually amazing -- like, not just "good for gluten-free," but genuinely so good. You can make any pizza gluten-free, but I usually just build my own: pepperoni, jalapeños, and a shit load of olives (yes, it has to be that many). And don't even get me started on their hot honey... I could drink it. It takes everything to the next level. I've never had a bad interaction here -- the team is always on it and just makes the whole vibe even better. Also, if you're into watching the Padres game, they've always got it on -- and they usually have some game day deals on pizza and beer, which is a win. Honestly, the vibe is just right every time I'm here.

I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves all the love. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming--think industrial meets modern, with the smell of fresh dough and herbs floating through the air. We ordered a couple of their signature pizzas and were absolutely blown away. The crust? Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. You can tell it's made fresh in-house. Toppings were super fresh and thoughtfully paired--each bite was full of flavor without being overpowering. I highly recommend their "Almost Too Far" Stracciatella, hot honey, basil, parmesan and pepperoni. Their BBQ is also great, mozzarella, jacked cheese Thai basil, smoked tri tip and an awesome BBQ sauce. Game changers! The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely excited about the food they're serving. You can feel the passion behind the kitchen, and it really makes the experience. Whether you're a pizza purist or like to experiment with new flavors, this place nails it. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. New go-to spot, hands down.

I stopped by far corner on Friday night and was blown away by the service from drea. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the drink menu -- you can tell she really knows her craft. I mentioned what kind of flavors I liked, and she immediately suggested a cocktail that ended up being my new favorite. Her timing was perfect, her energy was upbeat, and she made the whole experience feel personal without ever being overbearing. Between her professionalism and her genuine personality, Drea turned a casual night out into a great one. I'll definitely be back!

Let me start and say that far corner has not only the best ambience and pizza in downtown, but also top notch talent when it comes to their cocktail list and wine menu including pricing. The owner Max made us feel at home and really solidified our experience by making sure we were taken care of. Taylor the bartender even let me jump on his Spotify play list and let me play some tunes that my party wanted to listen to. I highly recommend the almost too far pie, the hot honey really enhanced the perfection of the other toppings. Definitely will be coming back, especially during a padres game, they have some of the best specials on game days.

Went to sit down to eat and get a few beers. There wasnt a server for a few minutes and when we were served, I noticed it was just one person. Bit of a wait for food, and it wasnt busy. They were extremely pleasant but the remaining staff and vibes of the place seemed off. I wouldnt recommend as the prices were insane and there are plenty of other pizza spots that are much better and reasonable prices. Not that it matters to most but some of the drink names were really odd and cringe. Management might want to consider their lack of professional appearance

We have stopped in to Far Cor er a couple of times since the beginning of the 2025 Padre season for pre game drinks. Tonight was for pizza and drinks before heading into a Padre game. The pizza arrived quickly to the table, just a few minutes after the drinks. It was the first time I had tried the House Old Fashioned called "Dad's Old Fashioned." The Dad's Rootbeer flavor was a nice compliment to the bourbon. The .394 was exactly as expected. We enjoyed the thin crust pizza with flavorful pepperoni and guanciale (cured pork jowl) with sausage. We each ate three slices each and did have to leave two behind slices behind. Definitely I'd order the pizza again. Excellent service from our server Kate and the crest of the team.

Good pizza, usually, but after multiple visits the service at the bar is so dismissive we probably won't return. We long for the days that this space was Basic -- better pizza and amazing service. The neighborhood has lost an iconic place and been replaced by mediocrity.

We stopped in before the Padres games on a whim and were happily surprised. We were seated right away by Ana, she made us feel very welcome. Jamie and Brian were very attentive and gave amazing service!! They had the best energy and beautiful smiles the entire time we were here. The food and drinks here were 10/10 and pizza was so good. Terrific atmosphere STEPS from Petco. The brick, open glass, high ceilings, two bars, seating areas, are all welcoming. Classy, modern but still relaxed-casual. A great place to hang and watch games on MANY TVs or just get a drink and eat with friends! Our large group was truly tended too and tried a bit of everything! My personal favorite was the hot honey pizza but there wasn't a bad bite. It's always terrific to have a few salad options. The Shakshuka app is unique. I love the breakfast incarnation of this dish so as a dipping appetizer with pizza dough rolls, it was re-invented in a fun other form! You can go to town in making you own pie, indulge a classic, or revel in something new and unique - toppings on speciality pizzas ranging from banana peppers to blue cheese to ricotta to blueberries and beyond. MY BLUE BOY and ALMOST TOO FAR are well worth swerving outside your usual wheel house. It's great too to have a nice carb like pizza with beer, cocktails etc but brew with pizza often can be carb heavy. NOT THE CASE HERE. The pizza is satisfying, rich, fantastic, but also light. No rock in your stomach after over-indulging. The Chef has done his homework about the pizza creations he is obviously very passionate about! I enjoyed everything I had and look forward to going back! My husband is staying closeby (we live in Los Angeles) for a conference and he'll be getting his fix in August again. This place is well worth a try!

Always a great and amazing experience coming here, the Cesar salad and steak bites were delicious. Beer was cold and refreshing and the staff/bartenders were attentive and great! HIGHLY recommend ANY pizza!

I didn't initially want to give this place a chance due to what happened with the building and previous tenants but I was in a pinch and needed to order food for friends and I am in the neighborhood. I ordered meat lovers pizza. I am always pleasantly surprised when a restaurant adds guanciale to a pizza. It was beautifully done, and I love that they use that ingredient. Crust was delicious and my friends and I were happy

Living near by I'd been watching this place be fixed up and was excited when they finally opened. I tried it for the first time on the second day they were open and it was pretty great! I ordered the steak bites and shared it with a friend and the meat was delicious and the portion size was perfect, we both filled up and still had a little left over. Went again last night and I'm sad to say the food was not consistent from the first time. First, we had to flag down a service person to let them know we'd be outside. We were given an old menu that had incorrect items. I was excited to order the steak bites again and the portion size was soo much smaller than the first time, for about the same price. We had gotten 2 drinks, and the steak bites and I paid $53. Overall pretty disappointed

Came out for drinks with my husband and had an amazing experience! Service was a solid 10/10. Our bartender, Grace, was friendly, quick, and made great drinks. Manager Max was attentive and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. The whole team worked together seamlessly -- they noticed when our drinks were low and took care of us right away. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!
