"The food truck in far southwest Austin offers both Filipino and Hawaiian food. Of the former, there’s lumpia, pork adobo, and pancit, and don’t miss out on the leche flan for dessert. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online; there are outdoor dine-in areas." - Clara Wang

Yelp
Always looking for amazing Asian places and this hits the spot! It's a Filipino and Hawaiian food truck and the owner is so nice! We arrived on a Saturday night around 7pm. Weather was absolutely perfect to sit outside and it was not busy at all. They do make the food fresh after you order so you might have to wait 20min or so but worth it. The poke bowl was so flavorful, fresh, and the furikake rice was the perfect complement. Chicken Katsu was my favorite as each piece was crispy, juicy, and the sauce made it even better. Mac and cheese salad, can't go wrong. Pork bbq skewers were super flavorful and portion sizes were generous. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area, date night, craving Asian food, or just something new!

Yelp
We were driving around and discovered this Filipino food truck by chance. We're so glad we did! The Poke Bowl was fresh and reminded me of authentic Hawaiian poke. My fiancé ordered the Pork BBQ plate and the BBQ sticks were full of flavor and the mac salad was good too. My favorite was the Leche Flan; it was so smooth. The owner was really kind to us and their service was great. We would definitely like to order from them again if we're in the area!

Yelp
Sarap! The Filipino pork BBQ brought back memories of the pork BBQ my Lolo (grandfather in Filipino) would grill up for the family party every New Year's Eve. It was a real Ratatouille moment - you know, with the food critic being reminded of his childhood upon taking that first bite. Well, it's not quite on the same level as my Lolo's but it's pretty damn good if they can do that. The pork BBQ specifically I feel is difficult to find in the Austin metro area, so I'm happy Far East Far West is close to me. I always gotta get the lumpia too. Their katsu and shoyu chicken are also good but I haven't tried anything else from the menu yet. Looking forward to trying their poke, lau lau, and loco moco sometime. As for their pork adobo, I prefer chicken but I want to try this too sometime. It's nice to have a good option for Filipino food that's closer to me than Little Mama's, as well as a second option for Hawaiian food besides Shoyu Sugar. I'll keep coming for sure. Maraming salamat (at magandang gabi bayan...sorry, corny joke for any Filipinos who watched TV Patrol growing up), Far East Far West!

Yelp
Returned to try the leche flan and the lumpia. The lumpia was crispy and well worth the price, ab order comes with 5 pieces! Because we weren't able to get the leche flan last time, the same person helping us gave us extra and it was delicious and creamy! Got the loco moco again but will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Yelp
Excellent food truck experience. My girlfriend and I both got the Loco Moco which comes with a dessert! The plate is a very generous amount of food and real tasty. the flan is a small portion but the texture is amazing and very sweet for a small treat at the end of an already tasty meal. Side note: a loco moco we ordered accidentally tipped over and spilled all over the ground, my girlfriend brought it to the attention of the food truck worker who happily made another plate. I'd happily give this food truck my business again. Very grateful to know good people and service is around atx.

Yelp
This was really good. I came by on my way home from work. I bought the Hawaiian chicken meal. Was very filling. I actually couldn't eat the whole thing. Had left overs for lunch. Chicken was super moist with so much flavor. The rice was good. I had a macaroni salad, and flan for dessert. I can't wait to try their lumpia and pancit. I'll be back again to try more of their menu! Such a great food truck park. There about 8 to 10 other trucks.

Yelp
So being Filipino it's great to have an option for adobo without having to spend a couple hours at home making it is great. The food is authentic and the owners are so nice and courteous! Take a minute and stop by, have some bbq sticks and macaroni salad, you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
I was so excited to try and so glad I did! It was hard to decide what to eat, because I wanted to try everything. I was able to narrow it down and so happy with my decision. I will definitely want to return to try their other plates. So, The pork BBQ was made to perfection the meat was tasty and the sauce made it so much better. It came with a Hawaiian macaroni salad and my only regret is that I didn't order more. The rice and veggies were also a perfect combination with the pork BBQ. Now, my fave part was that the plate included a dessert. I picked the leche flan and it was the right sweetness after having a nice meal. The kimchee shrimp was so hard to stop eating and it was seasoned so well. Both lumpia's are exactly what you want from Filipino food.

Yelp
Really good Hawaiian Philippine cuisine. Try the loco moco, lau-lau plates, spam musubi; ahi poke bowl; chicken katsu Hawaiian style. I tried the chicken adobo & lumpia (egg rolls) and Philippine noodle dishes (pancit bihon); glass noodles and more. Very delicious cooking just like being in the Islands hanging loose. Try them out and enjoy good food while helping an Islander Texan. It's a food truck court so dress accordingly. Easy parking, good vibes; look for Victor the very friendly owner.

Yelp
Finally! I've been searching for authentic Filipino food as others I've tried never reminded me of my moms cooking. We tried the pancit plate & chicken teriyaki plate & musubi and we demolished it. It's even so cute that they give a small bite size of flan with your order. We def gotta go back to try the pork bbq as someone bought them all out so he didn't have any to sell (which is a good thing because it must be good!) Would definitely go back!

Yelp
A Filipino Hawaiian food truck located in north west austin near Travis lake. This is the first time I had Lua Lau, but according to the chef, they steam the pork and vegetables for 8 hrs. So the pork was very tender. The pork was a bit too fatty for me as I can get sensitive to very fatty food. The side dishes, the poke, was pretty good. I was very fully by the end of the meal. So you get good amount of food for a good price. According to my friends, their menu is served very common Hawaiian food. So if you never had it before, try Hawaiian food without going to Hawaii, you can come here.

Yelp
Updated review: They're open again!! As soon as I heard I commuted 30 minutes, and as always, the food was great and fresh. Service was great and reflects in the taste of the food. The sides and the bbq skewers are super tasty, fluffy rice and a nice rich dessert to top it off. Such a fulfilling meal at a reasonable price. Yummmmyy

Yelp
This is a must try. Food is so authentic and made fresh to order. While the other food trucks are gone, Far East Far West remains...thankfully. Victor, the owner/chef, is super friendly and takes great pride in what he prepares. Food is so good and never disappoints!

Yelp
Amazing food and service with heart. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The bbq pork is a must try! The Katsu was a favorite for the kids. The spam musubi would be good to get to go for picnics and kids snack on the go!

Yelp
Before I start this review, note that the husband is Filipino and we had a recent Hawaii trip. So these flavors were fresh in our mind. The food is legit good. The portions are great, the flavors are spot on, and the dessert is a nice little addition. Even though the lau lau was not covered in taro leaves, it was so good. The truck is owned by a lovely human being who is Filipino and lived in Hawaii so I respect that honoring of the roots. I will definitely come back and also want to check out the other food trucks in that park as well.

Omar M.

Yelp
Amazing Filipino-Hawaiian food truck! Austin is so lucky to have them to satisfy our island cravings. I didn't get a shot of their amazing Pork Lau Lau but sadly, I ate it too quickly. Haha! Service is always so friendly and their food is made fresh, cooked to order. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes. Be sure to visit them to get a taste of both the Far East and Far West!

Lorena P.

Yelp
First time trying their food and was not disappointed! They give you a good size portion of everything (macaroni salad, protein, salad) and also includes a little flan on the side. I got the chicken Katsu and my husband got the BBQ pork, super good and also got a spam musubi. Delicious Hawaiian/Filipino food!

Yelp
Amazing Poke hands down ! best bang for your bucks too. $9 for a bowl of deliciousness. Will def be back here for Poke. I also got a katsu bowl, which is 8/10. the veggies is yummy ! The owner is Filipino and was raised in Hawaii. He is truly the def of a small business mom and pop. It seems like there is just him in the kitchen so def come by and support when you can. You wont be disappointed ! Tips : this is located in a food truck lots with many others trucks, but when I came, his truck was the only one that open ( on a sunday night ) . Though it's a food truck, they have a restroom on site for guest, you just have to ask.

Yelp
We decided to try a few different items from this little food truck park. Far East Far West was the deciding factor though. That loco moco was exactly what I was in the mood for. It was served so hot, so fresh. The egg was perfect, gravy was delicious (and the guy volunteered extra gravy, which made me, a sauce whore, so happy). The macaroni salad was delish as well. It was served with a dessert which I forgot to eat and a slaw which I didn't personally care for but it looked good! My boyfriend got the bbq pork skewers, which we both loved. Absolutely recommend this place.

Yelp
After seeing a post on social media I decided to give this place a try. I'm from Hawaii and there's only 1 or 2 places in Austin that makes legit dishes from Hawaii. The location has lots of picnic tables, a restroom and parking. They are located off the Main Street so you can't miss it. I already knew what I wanted to order - the Lau Lau plate with macaroni salad. It comes with rice, 2 sides and dessert. Great deal! Plus they got Aloha Maid drinks. The lau lau is not made with traditional luau leaves, it is made with spinach. I was surprised to see pokè and lomi salmon on my plate. The portion size was good for me. My dessert was flan. Everything was good and reminded me of a lau lau plate from Hawaii. Lau lau was hot and tasty. All I can say is the food was 'ono' and I will be back to order something else.

Yelp
True authentic Filipino and Hawaiian food! Tried the Loco Moco AND Filipino Pork BBQ and both were HEAVENLY DELICIOUS! The Loco Moco i the perfect savory meal with beef, egg and rice cooked to perfection The Filipino BBQ was the perfect combo of sweet, tangy BBQ!! Also, super friendly staff, if you're not sure what to get that they will gladly help you out! Highly recommend Far East Far West if you're looking for authentic food or to try something new! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Phenomenal. True Hawaiian food & such a nice, friendly owner! The food was cooked beautifully and prepared and presented with love. Rice, veggies, mac salad, lau lau, pork bbq, & noodles were all on point! The desserts and poke were a nice bonus addition. The food truck park is large with plenty of seating, lots of options, and a clean bathroom. Great place for COVID-safe outdoor dining.

Yelp
I've been looking for top-quality Hawaiian food for the last 3 years in Texas, and I was actually about to just give up a book a flight back until I was referred to Far East Far West. A client of mine from Honolulu actually recommended it to me, so I had to see what he was talking about. Their Shoyu chicken is exactly the flavors I was looking for. It was sweet, salty, and perfectly grilled. I'm not a huge fan of mac salad, but they do something magical to theirs. Whoever was assisting me in ordering was right when they insisted I give it a try. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to those unfamiliar with Phillippino and Hawaiian food - this is probably the best you will try in the states!

Dalena N.

Yelp
We ordered loco Moco, chicken katsu, and ahi poke. Everything was delicious. Poke was authentic and tasted fresh. Each to-go box was heavy and billed to the brim with food!We also came with our dog and it is nice to sit at the benches or walk around on the gravel. Service is nice. Highly recommend this lovely food truck.

Yelp
Delicious Pork Bbq and Love all their sides definitely worth it. The ube dessert is good to try I actually want to buy it and take out. The vegetables and macaroni sides are tasty! Pineapple Orange Juice is refreshing. I recommend this for yummy Filipino bbq. Can't wait to go back there!

Samantha M.

Yelp
SOOO good! It's located in a small food court area next to Walgreens in 620. Growing up my neighbor would make lumpia and bring it over for me, I haven't had lumpia in years and was craving it. I found this place by chance and had to try it. It didn't disappoint, also the man who runs it is super sweet. Highly recommend!

krystal c.

Yelp
Very amazing food! Fresh and delicious! Wonderful service. Really hits the spot, craving Hawaiian food! Clean food truck and will be returning! Don't miss out!

Seema P.

Yelp
Loved the Filipino and Hawaiian combo! Great local addition that's different and tasty. The pork bbq had and excellent cook and flavor. The lau lau plate was my favorite with the steamed pork. It is unique and so savory and juicy. Chicken katsu was well done with a great sauce combo. I did get the kimchi shrimp but kimchi in general is not my favorite. I thought this dish was ok but great for kimchi lovers. Spam masubi was good --- needs a little bit more spam for the spam to rice ratio. Great spot and will be back!

Robbie A.

Yelp
Filipino Hawaiian spot so close to home?! I flipped out when I saw them opening up. This place is great and I hope more come out to support. I don't think I've seen lau lau anywhere else in Austin. The included lomi lomi was a nice surprise as well. I'm not a big fan of the veggies but I'm not a big fan of veggies in general. Lau lau was decent, it scratched an itch I've had for a while. The loco moco was good too, could use more gravy though but overall great for Austin! Only wish they had kalua pig or some pipikaula beef or maybe some lechon kawali... maybe I'm just hungry. I wish these guys the best of luck and hope they get a brick and mortar soon!

Amber L.

Yelp
My husband and I just left here after ordering the chicken katsu and beef lumpia and it was amazing! The food is outstanding and the man who was working made the experience even better he was so sweet. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Private K.

Yelp
This is the best Filipino and Hawaiian food I have ever had outside of Hawaii. Really, really amazing. I would recommend ordering everything on the menu it's that good!!! If you are travelling through Austin and want something different and amazing, this is one food truck I would definitely recommend. Truly delicious flavors that you'll remember for a lifetime!

Christine M.

Yelp
Great food. Super nice owners!! The lumpia was crispy and tasted great. I loved my bbq pork plate. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I stumbled upon this food truck on a whim with some friends. Just...WOW... I don't think I've ever had such a delicious Katsu before. And the sweet potato dessert? Oh my gosh, it was phenomenal. If you have the chance, go check this place out. A hidden gem for sure!

Anusha R.

Yelp
Amazing gem in a food truck lot. Everything was super fresh, super tasty. The owner was super friendly and our group devoured everything in less than 10 minutes - it's that good! We ordered the pork bbq, ahi poke, and pancit with lumpia. Came with sides of Mac salad and a mini dessert. Highly recommend everything!

Keisha T.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal, took me back to Hawaii. We tried several items from the menu. You will not be disappointed. Love, love, love! I also had them cater a party for me and my guests were truly impressed. Shout out to Rachelle and Victor...they are truly a reflection of Ohana!!!

Olivia L.

Yelp
The food is amazing! A lot of the time my family will order to-go since it's close by, and everything on the menu is delicious. The dessert and the sides match perfectly with the meal and the portions are great.

Nisha A.

Yelp
I love the pork adobo it reminds me of my grandma's cooking. Its family owned and they are amazing. Thank you for bringing good food to the ATX.

Theresa K.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! We tried 3 different plates which included the Pork BBQ, Shoyu Chicken and the Chicken Katsu... it all was SO GOOD! Even our kids who our picky eaters loved it!! We will definitely be back!!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Great Food truck! Love the Lumpia's! The flan was delicious too! Brought my 96-year-old mother for her first food truck experience and the chef brought us a free flan for my mom! Definitely will be back to sample more of their food

Christina B.

Yelp
This place is legit !!! The food is amazing and super authentic. We are officially hooked and will be eating here at least weekly from now on. Also super nice owner. Check it out y'all !

Paul R.

Yelp
I picked this up on the way home for dinner. I can't say I know much about Hawaiian or Filapino food, but this was delicious. I got the shoyu chicken and didn't realize it was thighs, which I love but my wife normally hates. She loved it possibly even more than i did. Also had the bbq pork which was great. I really liked the stir fried veggies, I think it was soy and sesame oil, probably an odd thing to point out, but it paired really well with the sweat meats.
