The Best Breakfast at the Minnesota State Fair - Eater Twin Cities

"While the Farmers Union’s buttery pork schnitzel sandwich may be too heavy for breakfast, the fried green tomato sandwich — topped with either bacon or sweet corn relish — is not." - Justine Jones

Where to Find All the New Foods at the 2019 Minnesota State Fair, Mapped - Eater Twin Cities

"This year the Birchwood Cafe has brought in a new blueberry version of its famous key lime pie, plus lavender lemonade with lavender leaves grown by the Hmong Farmers Association. The stand is a celebration of all things local and last year’s BLT hit - with that cool Kernza grain bread is back with the option of adding an egg to make it breakfast-y. Plus, there’s lavender lemonade." - Joy Summers

Map of the Minnesota State Fair’s best new food and beer for 2018 - Eater Twin Cities

"The revamped Farmer’s Union thankfully has some fantastically quick lines this year along with a BLT that had the critic’s swooning and that maple nitro coffee drink that was new and perpetually sold out last year." - Joy Summers

We tried the Fried Green Tomato BLT. As far as walk up fair food goes, these were very good. They had long lines, but moved people through quickly and were very friendly. If you’re there this year and the FGT BLT sounds good, stop and give them a try.

Best pork schnitzel a person could ask for. The Back 40 patio usually has seating even with long lines in front. I really appreciate the quality of food from the Farmers Union!

A fun Fair food (turkey kristo) that isn't deep fried and a yummy maple coffee.

We stop in every year for a coffee and a Schnitzel. Great place

The Farmer’s Union USED to be our favorite stop at the State Fair but this year for some reason they stopped serving the BLT with corn aioli. BRING BACK THE BLT SANDWICH!

Our Minnesota State Fair meal of the Sweet Corn BLT with an egg and the Blueberry Key Lime dessert was outstanding!! I would highly recommend both!

Only tried the Lavender Pink Lemonade. Tasted like it was made with lemons that were sitting out for too long. Other menu items might be better! They do have quite a variety.

I'm not a huge fan of blueberries or keylime but the Blueberry Keylime Pie is a must if your at the MN State Fair. Also the grahamcracker crust is amazing.
