"Farmstand’s all-day fare is handled by chef Phi Nguyen and focuses on seasonal live-fire cooking. Nab a seat on the patio for beets with smoked beet puree and cocoa nibs, or a grilled pork chop with apple-sherry glaze. A pear, arugula, and prosciutto pizza, even on gluten-free crust, bristles with dough bubbles and boasts a light, chewy texture. Bits of caramelized onion add a high note to the bitter, savory and sweet toppings." - Christina Mueller, Eater Staff

What a hidden gem! I showed up for lunch without a reservation, and with two huskies in tow to boot, and appreciated the staff’s accommodating us. Warm, professional service from Jimmy, Jocelyn, and Oscar; fun cocktails; and an equally fun menu. My only regret is that I came without other humans — I would have liked to have been able to order more items. Appreciated the nice array of vegetarian options and the property was absolutely stunning. Looking forward to coming back for dinner at the fine dining outlet. (I was told they can offer a vegetarian tasting menu with a little notice. Excellent.) There are rumors of a resident cat, too, but I’m sure my dogs deterred him.. Heidi let me know he has his own Instagram account, though, so I still got to meet him virtually.. Handsome devil ;) See charlie_the_farmhouse_cat I’d been meaning to visit for awhile and am so glad I finally did.

What a joke. We ordered a starter of baked artichokes. Inedible. I should have been a little concerned when we laughed about the roasted carrots for 18 bucks. Very friendly staff but bad.

Absolutely incredible dinner and it didn’t break the bank. The nicer larger restaurant at this hotel has six course meals for $300. Here you can get plenty full with two people for $100. And you still get access to all their great wine. We got the Caesar salad, artichokes, meatballs, red pizza, and two glasses of wine. Everything we had was so so delicious.

The Farmstand is a Russian River hidden gem! We are from the area and seek out dining options and we found our new favorite, farm to table dining spot. The garden that surrounds the Farmstand at The Farmhouse Inn is blooming with roses, lovely Chinese lantern shrubs and has paths scented with rosemary. The chef greeted us and made us feel welcome by the outdoor wood fire pizza oven. We loved the menu and the food was amazing with a roasted beet purée and fresh crudités, and pizza with a white sauce and a lovely mixture of mushrooms on a perfect thin crust. My husband ordered the burger on a toasted brioche bun with a savory sauce and fresh relish. It was ordered rare and served juicy, delicious and rare. We enjoyed a Sonoma grown Albariño white varietal from Miramar Vineyard and we will be ordering it again and again. We learned the lemon tart with blueberries was delicious, truly very tart and the crust was rich…..don’t skip dessert. The friendly service from Austin and Oscar was attentive and professional. We thought the creativity and extraordinary quality was well worth a foodies attention! We will be back to enjoy dinner and brunch in this casual environment soon.

So I was sure this was going to be a memorable lunch with good friends and great food. The friends were great however the food was at best mediocre. They were out of salad? Really. Out of beets and no hummus. The arrocicni balls were under seasoned and the fried chicken sando was more like a slider and the brioche buns ha! Flavorless. The veggie panini was very flavorful and as was the rustic bread. Needed to be seved open faced more like an avocado toast. Disappointing!

Google
Absolutely delicious food, amidst a gorgeous property. But what stood out for us was the service. We had a tight timeline for lunch (about 50m total) and our server (wish I could recall her name) did a fabulous job to hustle and make sure we had everything we needed and things came out quick. They went above and beyond to give us a great lunch and a great start to our trip in Sonoma.

Great place and very accommodating. The attention to detail is impressive. Thank you for the great time.

The service was lacking and the food was not the best. I usually don’t like writing bad reviews unless it’s something that really upsets me. This restaurant is not really handicap accessible. We had to duck under ropes to get to the ramp. This was not ok!

Yelp
Meh it's ok not great just meh I'm sorry but yeah it's just why? I don't know maybe some of this falls on me because I had expectations I'm really confused. I could've brought Taco Bell and had just been equally satisfied. Sorry I don't fault the staff or anyone in that establishment we had interaction with they were so nice and kind and genuinely awesome people, but the food was just why why???? I don't understand and you know what I think I'm OK with that. Good luck.

Yelp
What happened here! We arrived to no one to welcome us or acknowledge our reservation; it took about 7 minutes before a waitress showed up. She ushered us to our table and asked us twice in two minutes if we had been there before. We ordered 2 glasses of sparkling wine; arrived with no sparkle; replacement glasses were not much better. Stored improperly or past its' prime? No water until we asked. The "wedge" salad arrived, no wedge at all, just a very small nest of iceberg lettuce with something on top and very underdressed. Couldn't much discern the ingredients because it was quite dark. The pepper appetizer arrived in a bed of something resembling packing materials or cellulose. Turns out it was dried and shaved skip jack tuna; sent it back. Much later the two mains arrived - flat iron steak and chicken parm. The chicken was over breaded and straight out of a Costco bag of frozen chicken. The flat iron was cold, small portion looked like it had been scraped off someone else's plate. The topper was $85 for a bottle of Ferrari Carrano chardonnay which I can purchase at retail for $20, which means they paid about $10. The mains were returned promptly, and we left after 2.5 hours of no service and long waits. So! My birthday dinner was comprised of 1/2 of a very small and underdressed wedge salad. What a way to celebrate. So upsetting and disappointing. There was another table of 5; 3 of their mains came out after a long wait. It was quite a while until one additional one came out and then finally the last. No excuse for any of this! Waitress told us they have a Cordon Bleu chef in the kitchen. I think not, more like someone's mom trying to teach them to cook and failing miserably.

Yelp
As an early Valentine's brunch, we visited Farmstand over the weekend. Farmstand is the casual restaurant out of the two. They also have the Farmhouse restaurant for dinner. In addition, they have beautiful cottages you can stay at in a serene setting. We arrived around noon and was the only one in the restaurant. We were seated in a small table for two overlooking the pool and grounds. The server was kind and quick to serve. We ordered the roasted artichokes, red pizza and chocolate cremeux. All dishes are made to share. The artichokes was fresh, a good starter. The pizza was small, we had 4 slices each. The dessert was almost like a chocolate mousse layered with ice cream and cocoa brittle on top. We left satisfied, not overly stuff just perfect. Love the grounds, the relax vibes. It makes you feel like you're dining in the middle of the woods.

Yelp
The food was mediocre to poor. My steak was about 6 oz and came to the table cold, and the greens it came with were a pile of undressed, dry salad greens. I was told it was normally served that way and meant to be dressed with the bearnaise sauce. What? The trout came warm but slightly overcooked. The bread came stale/underheated. We were told that the bread comes from Sonoma but that it's frozen. My guess is that our first batch wasn't reheated enough. The second batch was better. Tater tots were...tater tots. Crudo was fine. Drinks were tasty but not very boozy. Our server was nice and apologetic but the timing of the meal was a bit off. The whole experience was disappointing. I sent the steak back and didn't order anything else. We paid $120 (tip was automatically included) for crudo, bread, tater tots, trout entree, and two cocktails. Smh...

Yelp
On our visit, the complete staff was very friendly and attentive. During our stay, we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner. We plan to return again to enjoy this wonderful property, food and staff.

Yelp
We went here on our Anniversary night and it was delightful! The staff wished us a happy anniversary as soon as we arrived and the second we sat down, we were given complimentary glasses of bubbly to celebrate! Everyone was so nice and the food was amazing! Our server was new (3 weeks) and we would have never known. She was amazing and described the dishes like she'd been working their for years. Chicken & Quail dishes were cooked to perfection and the carrots were to die for! On our way out the cooks wished us a happy anniversary from the kitchen. Absolutely loved everyone here! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to trying Farmstand, but was cautiously optimistic given the mixed reviews. We had a lovely dinner there. We shared a fantastic bottle of Tempernillo, a pizza, trout and a lemon tart. We enjoyed everything we ordered and the final bill was very much in line with what we'd expect to pay around here. The staff seemed stretched thin, but despite that, the service we received was very good. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Mediocre at best, we are locals, not tourists. Food disappointing, charred Caesar way overdressed, good crudo, meatballs cold (and they had pork even though they said all beef--gristle!), and the pizza undercooked. The staff hanging around the outdoor pizza oven were all having too good of a time rather than serving/doing their jobs. Manager was nice and professional but our server Claire should not be waiting on anyone. BTW it's 20% gratuity added to check regardless of poor service. That doesn't encourage any server to be better fyi! Bummer because before the sale of the property it used to be great (the fine dining side!) Foley should have really cleaned up this place

Yelp
The Farmstand ( FARMHOUSE ) is very unique property. Several years ago, I had the pleasure of dining at the FARMHOUSE. The food, the service and the setting were outstanding. And it had a well-deserved Michlin star. I was looking forward to our reservation at the more casual Farmstand as it was a perfect day for a family lunch outdoors in an absolutely beautiful setting. Although the service was great, it became obvious that the wait staff was not in tune with the menu.......nor was the chef. We ordered 2 burrata's with pine nuts. No pine nuts. A couple of people in our party ordered the pork Belley with kimchi (because they love kimchi). Guess what ? No kimchi ! When we brought it to the attention of the wait staff she said, "sorry we are out of kimchi"! I wanted to order the fried chicken with French toast. "Sorry, we ran out of chicken". Really ? It was12:30 in the afternoon. A couple in our group ordered ice tea. The wait staff failed to mention that it was not your traditional iced tea, but a BLUE colored tea infused with some herbs they we really didn't care for. Overall, our group was very disappointed with the food and shocked with the unbelievable lack of communication with the chef and the wait staff. We love the area, the property and truly hope they get it together. I'm truly hoping it was just one of those OFF DAYS.

Yelp
The location is really beautiful and the food was lovely. Unfortunately, the service was lacking and that impacted our entire experience. We had a reservation for a late lunch this afternoon. The waitress told us the kitchen would be closing soon and we promised we would order quickly. However, she forgot about us for about 15 minutes apologizing that she was busy. After ordering and receiving our meal, our waitress ignored us for the rest of the meal. When she brought us our food we asked for a refill on our iced team (which was $8.00 and very small) and she never brought it. Instead, she just brought us our bill and seemed put out when we asked for the refill she promised us half an hour earlier. As someone who worked in the service industry for close to a decade I know service workers work very hard, but she was really unfriendly. It made the whole experience really unpleasant and our meal (which was over $100) a disappointment.

Yelp
Food overall was good, but they served us pistachios on the wax bean dish (wasn't listed with nuts on menu) which to me is just a non starter. This was after telling them there was a tree nut allergy, telling the server it looked like there was nuts and the dish and she said it was "just spices", then she confirmed the kitchen did randomly throw pistachios in the dish, and then they didn't bring us a new dish that didn't have nuts. I expected a little bit better

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Farmhouse last year and it was excellent; but, definitely a special occasion restaurant for us. When we learned that Farmstand at the Farm House Inn had opened we took a look at the menu and booked a table this week. The grounds of the Farmhouse Inn are lovely and out outdoor table had a full view of the gardens and pool. We started by sharing their sausage pizza. My husband is from Napoli so this was a real test which they passed with flying colors. There's nothing that comes close to their pizza in Guerneville where we have a summer house. Next my husband had the mushroom pasta and I had the brick chicken. Both were delicious. Prices are what you would expect to pay in a good restaurant in San Francisco and the quality is very high. We plan to return often in the future.

Yelp
Farmstand is the "cafe" restaurant adjacent to the high-end Farmhouse. Prices are on par with mid-range regional restaurants, and if you choose carefully, you can eat cost-effectively. Value to cost ratio is high, because the food is excellent. Preparation is competent and creative, ingredients are good, concepts are good. Ambiance was unpretentious - an airy deck adjacent to the hotel gardens. Service was pleasant and very attentive. We had vegetables bagna cauda, a delicious start, then beets on pistachio nuts, a Calabrese pizza, a chocolate and hazelnut tart, and a slightly splurgy bottle of Russian River grenache. All good, and flavors FAR from "bland". We will definitely return, and regularly.

Matilda S.

Yelp
Lovely setting, attentive service that was never sycophantic, and the freshest produce around. But... flavors were too tame, even bland. Menu v limited. And on this 95 degree day, our glasses were kept filed with tepid, ice-free water. 95 degrees and no ice in the water? I understand that this is the European way, but you are in Forestville. Ice, please.

Yelp
When you arrive for a 7:15 dinner reservation and don't get seated until 45 mins. later, I had a feeling things would not go too well. Maybe it was an off night for the staff, or maybe they we understaffed, but things did not go much better after we were finally seated. We were asked if we wanted inside or out, we said anything as their were empty tables, well no one ever came back to let us k ow what was available. The manager did come to the table and apologized, offered all of us a glass of champagne, which was literally a splash then proceeded to take the bottle away!! Like you couldnt leave the bottle, we were a party of 5. The bottle was almost empty! Then the waitress brought out the wrong drinks, because she couldn't read her writing ( her words, not ours), to the small servings, a bowl of lettuce, that was supposed to be a salad to the lack of attentiveness from the staff we were very disappointed.

Jesse C.

Yelp
Amazing dinner at Farmstand the other night. I wasn't quite sure what to expect given that the "main" restaurant is a high-end tasting menu, but we were super impressed by everything. The staff was all great, and very helpful in answering some questions we had and giving opinions, suggestions, etc. We appreciated how friendly & attentive they were given that we were probably the last seating and the last ones at the restaurant, I can imagine that must be frustrating as a staff member but we certainly didn't get any sense of that. We had several vegetable dishes (raw and roasted) and a couple mains; everything we ordered was a winner, no complaints whatsoever. We sat outside and the setting was very nice (there were indoor tables available as well). Overall a restaurant that I would recommend highly and definitely revisit the next time we're in the area.

Donna B.

Yelp
I'd like to start by saying our waitress was darling and delightful. Unfortunately not much else met my expectations. Even though I had made my reservations a month in advance, they were not prepared for our special anniversary occasion. Our pizzas were basic, cool upon delivery and my sons was oily and inedible. I was sorely disappointed and apologized to my family. Definitely not worth the price tag. We stayed in Russian River and looked forward to our one celebratory meal.

Wendy S.

Yelp
We had a ghastly lunch here today. They sat us under the bamboo awning which did not provide enough shade on a 90+ day. It might not have been so bad if the meal moved along, but we sat there for 45 minutes before there was anything to eat. It had taken a long time for them to come take our order (despite her saying she knew we were in kind of a hurry for a 2:00 wine tasting reservation elsewhere) and then waited FOREVER for the food. It was so hot in the sun we had sweat pouring down our faces, and they completely ignored us, only refilling water glasses once. If I had to have guests sitting there for 45 minutes I would have spoken to them about it, offered cold beverages, and probably put some sort of interim food in front of them. The worst was that when the meal finally came it was appalling. The pork belly hash was mostly onions and kimchee. It contained barely any pork and it was flavorless (how do you make pork belly flavorless?), with big fingerling potato pieces out of scale with the rest. It was mushy and wet, rather than crispy and appetizing as you'd expect from a good hash. The three of us that ordered it were so disappointed and left hungry. The chicken and French toast was good, if spare in portion and visual presentation. Eighteen years ago we stayed at the Farmhouse Inn and ate at the restaurant on our honeymoon. This was an altogether disappointing anniversary lunch. The setting was lovely though.
