"Minutes after Fashion Dim Sum’s 10 a.m. opening on the weekends, expect all the tables to be filled, and with good reason: the restaurant serves some of the best dim sum in the Seattle area. There are no dim sum carts in this small dining room; diners order from the menu. Two of the best items are weekend-only specials not found on the regular menu: fresh bean curd rolls and Fashion stuffed dumplings made with pork, peanuts, pickled radish, and more." - Jay Friedman

"This small and unassuming restaurant in an Edmonds strip mall is a solid dim sum spot north of Seattle. It serves handmade dim sum with complimentary tea all day long. Its piggy buns — pig-faced steamed buns filled with sweet egg custard — is a crowd pleaser and Instagram hit, and the layered shrimp balls are equally as stunning. The latter features plump, juicy shrimp paste coated in mounds of thin, crispy, deep fried wonton strips, shaped to look like a bird’s nest." - Leonardo David Raymundo, Ryan Lee

This restaurant used to have one of the best dim sum in Seattle. However, they recently changed owner. Now the menu is different and the dim sum tastes completely different from before. Also, the price has increased and the food amount is about half of previous. It’s such a pity that the old amazing restaurant won’t come back.

Highly disappointed with the new ownership. Doesn't hit the same. The original menu got butchered. Ordered black bean chicken feet and beef noodle roll. No black beans in the chicken feet. Rice noodle rolls came out cold and doesn't taste or look like traditional beef noodle roll like it once was. Food was bland af. Time to find a new dimsum spot nearby.

We went on a weekday, there's only one server/host. Her clothes were dirty and she seemed like she didn't sleep all night. The restaurant itself was.. sticky and greasy feel. Service speed was ok, but food was only 50% cooked. So we left after the second meal came, which again, was only 50% cooked. We just don't trust their food to be safe to eat... Wil Not come back for sure.

Google
The food is delicious. We had piggy buns, shrimp bean curd roll, mushrooms shou mai. They were all very good. I remember their menu had more items last I was here. But can still find everything I want to eat. The parking lot is crowded during weekend.

Google
The tea cup has stains on it! The side condiment options are limited as we have share a bottle of vinegar with another table. Servers were okay. The food taste like frozen ones from Costco. Not recommending.

Google
All I wanted to know was if this was cart/buffet style Dim Sum and instead, I saw a flurry of negative rating and experiences. So happy we did not listen! We almost turned back when we came in and saw that we were the only customers in the restaurant (more came later though). Food was EXCELLENT! Everything was HOT and had a ton of flavor, and was surprisingly inexpensive compared to other Dim SUM Service: the only area where this place kind of lacked. In the beginning the food was coming out few and far in between but after the third item, they weren’t as spread apart. It just felt like we were getting courses instead of family style but that didn’t end up being the case thankfully. Our server was very friendly though and attentive. We almost didn’t come here after reading all of the reviews because it seems that people were unhappy with the change in ownership, we had never been here before so we can’t say it’s gotten better or worse. Reviews are great but for $25 a person, don’t let a few bad reviews decide whether or not you try this place. If you don’t like it? Great now you know, but you could be missing out on a great dim sum restaurant that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg in the NORTH SIDE! I am not saying that these people with bad reviews are lying or anything, but what I am saying is that their experience was nothing like ours!

This place made me really, horribly, sick. The pork buns were undercooked or old and I had to go to urgent care for food poisoning. I wouldn't advise eating here, and if you do...good luck! Choose somewhere else, save money. Edited for the owner's response: This happened May 22nd, 2024.

Google
Honestly not bad for a small dim sum place in a small town, I found it to be almost on par with some of the large Chinese food restaurants that I’ve been to. Although I will admit that it is pretty hard to mess up on the dishes that we ordered and these are not hard to steam from frozen. The egg yolk buns that we ordered were definitely not great, but everything else was not bad.

Yelp
Food really good the new owners so nice I knew from them that they didn't get the old recipe from old chef that he promise poor them anywau the chef special were so good Truffle suimai

Yelp
Love how this is a no-fuss lunch place for our family. We usually order a few baskets of dim sum dishes and a few buns to-go. Staples are short ribs, XLB, bbq pork buns, Chinese broccoli, and piggy buns. Parking can get cramp but it never deters us.

Kelly L.

Yelp
Had some expectations for this place with high reviews on other platforms but ended up a little disappointed. We came here on Sunday for lunch and there was a wait, which is totally fine. However - unlike other dim sum places - after we ordered, we waited for a while for each dish to come one by one (around 15 min wait for each dish). The food was just alright, nothing too out of the ordinary. But both my partner and I ended up having stomach issues after the food. Would also say the seating of this place was slightly crowded, but it's fine over all. We probably won't come back in the future for ourselves.

Yelp
Why oh why did I not double check Yelp before coming to FDS for lunch?! When we walked in at 10:56 am on a Friday, there was no one in sight. When the owner came out, we got the feeling something was off. Our waitress confirmed the change in ownership starting in May. We decided to give it a try but immediately regretted it after the first dish. The menu (in English only with no pictures) prices appeared to be much higher; missing was my favorite steam taro dumplings. We order our usual items: 1. Salted Egg Yolk Bun ($6.45). Fillings were overcooked; no longer the former oozing yumminess (see pic). 2. Preserved Egg & Shredded Pork Congee ($9.75). Microscopic pork pieces instead of shredded. 3. Beef Noodle Roll ($7.45). Thick noodle skin. Beef filling was cold and tasted old. It used to come out piping hot with thin almost translucent skin. 4. Siu Mai ($7.25). This was the only ok dish but still not as good as before. 5. Black Bean Chicken Feet ($7.45). Lack flavor. My dad said it looked like they were boiled. 6. Bean Cured Roll ($7.25). It came out dark brown and tasted sour. We sent it back. 7. Shrimp Bean Curd Roll ($9.45). Shrimp stuffing was too salty and not grinded well so it fell apart. The name remained but the food is no where near what it was. Sadly, we've crossed this restaurant off our list.

Yelp
Wait: ~15-20 minutes Food (In order of when it came out): Soy Sauce Noodles/Siu Mai/Pan-Fried Pork Bun/Lo Bak Go (Radish Cake)/Cheong Fun (Rolled Rice Noodle w/Beef) Staff: mid. Told us it'd be a long wait. Then asked us if we were okay waiting that long for some reason? Could be more efficient. Environment: Nothing out of the ordinary. . . chair was a little sticky. This place had 2 bathrooms. Pretty small dining area. Why is there a baby high chair blocking half of the pathway next to that counter top to the bathroom? They could be more organized. But that's a them problem. Bathrooms: N/A, Didn't go inside. Review: The wait was okay. Apparently it was under *NEW MANAGEMENT* so the menu was different and everything. They had just opened 4 days ago and were sorting things out. We looked at the prices and they were just astronomical like $$. . . Most of the Dim Sum from Fashion before owner change was about $5-6. Now the only cheapest dish you could get was around $7.50. ~Dishes~ 1 ) Soy Sauce Noodles were around $9.5+. It came out cold. The dish was terribly small (for reference the plate was about 8x5 inches . . . . but it was an oval). The noodles were underseasoned and there were pieces of carrot for some reason (big chunk + little sticks??? I think there were some onions too but like the carrots were distracting). 2) So I nibbled the noodles in around 5 bites. . . NEXT the Siu Mai. . . Actually hot surprisingly. . . It was a bit salty but at least it was chunky. This one costed about ~$7-8. 3) Pan-Fried Pork Buns: erm. . . So they came out cold . . . Pretty good flavors. Was not crispy at all tho. You'd expect the words "fried" for it to have some crunch in them. . . but no. Also someone took a bite out of each of the corners of the plates 4) Lo Bak Go: Great. . . thought it was the best dish of the bunch. . . no complaints. . . wait actually. . . presentation could use some work 5) Cheong Fun w/Beef: Awful ngl. Came out a little cold. Rice noodle was mushy. beef was mushy. beef was SOUR??? Overall Experience 4/10

Yelp
If I'm being completely honest, I only have one mission when going to dimsum: order har gow, eat har gow, leave happy because of har gow. These were the dinkiest looking har gows I've ever seen T^T I appreciated the service as our waitress was very kind and attentive. Overall the food was good, but doesn't compare to how I remembered it in the past.

Jason G.

Yelp
I have been coming here more than 2 years, but after several months, I decided to go back and expect to get good dimsum. but came back disappointed. It seems the owner changed, and the menu options even have Pad See Ew! I came here for chinese dimsum, not thai food. And the food quality and quantity is different and small (the lotus wrapped leaf). the shumai taste ok. Would not come back again.

Channing C.

Yelp
I will eat here over T&T seafood any day. T&T has rude servers and poor service. Fashion Dim Sum is a better experience. It is a small spot that gets really crowded on weekends. Luckily, I always come during lunch, when they are not too busy. Before I go further, I must warn that the parkin situation is terrible. The strip mall it's located in is really small and the parking is limited. The spots are small and many of them are marked or claimed by the other businesses. I have seen many almost accidents in this lot so be careful. Ok, the food is not the best dim sum, but it is decent. The portions are good to me and I always leave feeling really full. My only pain points are that they don't have any condiments besides soy sauce for everything. Not everything requires soy sauce, so I wish they had more variety. They also don't seem to like to give you extra plates. If you are looking for a traditional dim sum experience, you won't get that here, as they don't push the items around on the cart. You order like AYCE sushi style. Check what you want and the quantity on the paper and hand it to the server. Service is fairly friendly and quick and I've never been disappointed here.

Kai G.

Yelp
Don't know what happened to this place. We were informed they had no rice, and then found out they also ran out of shrimp and broccoli. A Chinese restaurant running out of staples is a clear sign of bad management. Food and service was ok, but definitely would not recommend.

Chris C.

Yelp
New ownership as of 4 days ago. Heard a lot of complaints from tables nearby. The last few reviews from less than a few days ago seem to be saying the same things. Do not recommend and would not eat here again

Andrew V.

Yelp
Disappointed - New Owners Food quality was terrible. Apparently the new owners didn't keep the same recipes. The flavor and taste of the food were completely different than before. Here is a picture of the famous Fashion dim sum. NOT THE SAME AS BEFORE. I'm not coming back again.

Mark N.

Yelp
Just stopped by Fashion Dim Sum today for of my favorite Beef Rolls. Here is one problem with the order today is that either they hired an inexperienced cook or these beef rolls were made yesterday !! That is what it tased like . Also in the past when we ordered these, they were mire portion then now. I remember there should be (3) In each order rather than (2) . To me is not about portions, it is about texture and taste. And today was really bad. Dried and thick wrapping and meat. The meat also fell out of the noodle roll and that tells you they can't cook or new cook or just over night stuff. You can see the first picture is the bad one from my previous picture that was taken last year. It isn't the same Fashion I have been buying from !!!

Mary B.

Yelp
Do not eat here!! This used to be our favorite spot but found out they changed ownership. Thai cook who did not learn how to prepare Dim Sum. Prices are higher and the dishes are horrible. The new male server was very nice and let us know there were many complaints as well. There's a female who wasn't very friendly and shuffled her feet as she walked ( lazy feet). 1. Siu Mai was the only item that was just ok. 2. Chicken feet was just steamed or boiled and very bland, no color. No black bean. Looked like old lady hands. 3. Sticky rice in lotus leaf. Flat as a pancake. They only used sweet rice and hardly any filling. Difficult to eat as it was like wayyyy toooo sticky. 4. Radish cake seemed store bought and sliced and fried...bland as well. It was excellent with previous owner/cook. This totaled about $50 after tip. What a waste! You've been warned...

Sara L.

Yelp
This use to be our favorite north Seattle dim sum place, until they changed ownership last month. The prices are the same, but the food is far worst. The shumai taste like beef meatball, the turnip cake is gluey and not crispy like the old owner used to make, the lotus wrapped rice taste totally different and bland, portions feel smaller overall definitely not worth the price. We are now on the hunt for a north Seattle dim sum spot again.

Lynne W.

Yelp
New owners, not the same food. Used to be my fave. Noodle portions were very small and very greasy. Will not be back. Better off changing the name of your restaurant. Pretending to be fashion is a mistake... many people expecting fashion recipes.

Aimee F.

Yelp
Always a solid experience at Fashion Dim Sum. Their piggy buns are quite popular but if you want a less-cute version they also have the salted egg yolk bun at the same price. You get a pot of hot tea as you're seated, but can also request water. I've seen some people purchase sodas if you're looking for other options. Our go-tos are the layered shrimp ball, shrimp and chive dumpling, plus another. The taro nests are solid and great when you are looking for something hearty. Their soups are great, the congee is perfectly flavored so you can dip and dress things up to your liking.

BL T.

Yelp
Waiters nice enough, waited a while to be seated and many open seats and few customers. Food was meh. I don't think I'll be back.

Alex C.

Yelp
Overall 4.5/5 I love dim sum, and when I first moved to Seattle I had trouble finding quality dim sum. I resorted to driving to BC a few times a year in order to get my fix. That was before I tried Fashion Dim Sum. A small spot in Edmonds, I wouldn't have guessed to find such good dim sum here. The best tasting items were the staples: siu maai (pork dumpling) and haa gaau (shrimp dumpling). The siu maai was very porky, juicy, with a nice tender skin. The haa gaau had little to no filler, and the wrapper had the perfect amount of chew to it. I also had the lo mai gai (sticky rice), which was tender, delicious, albeit very small. The chicken feet were not bad, but I wish they were a bit more tender. Good food. Efficient service. The main deterrent of this place is the price. $7-8 per item is definitely the higher end I've seen, but I think it's still worth going to if you're craving good dim sum!

Gina L.

Yelp
Went here Sunday around 11:30AM. The server was clearly way overworked, running around. Each item came out with about 10 minutes in between and the sui mai smelled like burned/melted plastic. We couldn't eat but one piece of broccoli. The food looked microwaved in plastic, not steamed. I have tried this place once before in 2019 and had a better experience but still really slow service. This was the last time I'll try eating here. Save your money and get dim sum frozen at H Mart.

Yelp
Fashion Dim Sum is somewhat near a corner of a strip mall near Ranch 99 mall. Parking is easy. I heard this was a good dim sum restaurant, but I figured they would have normal dishes during dinner time. Nope. It is dim sum all day! Well, okay then. The chef and the one server spoke Cantonese to each other. That is always a very good sign. Sure enough, their food is legit. The dishes came out swiftly and timely (not too fast). There were only 3 tables including ours during dinner. Honestly, I would skip the lunch/brunch crowd and come during the peaceful dinner hours instead. The prices are comparable to most. Their deco is closer to hole-in-the-wall but not too bad. I would come here again. The Food: #4 Seafood Siu Mai, $8.25 - 4.5 Stars This is an unusual dim sum item, and it is good! I would order this again. #6 Taro Shrimp Cake, $7.95 - 5 Stars This is a shrimp patty, covered with taro strips, and fried. This is also an uncommon item, and they did a good job. This one was hubby's favorite. #9 Pan Fried Pork Buns, $9.75 - 5 Stars These pan fried baos were surprisingly legit. It is not a common dim sum dish, more associated with northern dumpling restaurants like DTF and DZ. The bao part was perfectly light and fluffy. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. #22 Chinese Broccoli, aka Gai Lan, $8.50 - 3.5 Stars I wish they did the oyster sauce with the touch of oil instead of straight-up. The gan lan is cooked just right though. #23 Shrimp Noodle Roll, aka Cheung fun, $6.95 - 4.5 Stars Big pieces of prawn! This is an excellent version. Also worthy of repeat. #28 Crisply Dough Noodle Roll, aka Chinese Donut Cheung Fun, $6.50 - 4 Stars This one is more ordinary than shrimp noodle roll, even though it is good. I would get only the shrimp one in the future. #46 Taro Nest, aka Taro Puff, $6.95 - 3.5 Stars The filling is unusual. It has water chestnuts. Different, not better, not terrible, either. I am hesitant for the next time. Full disclosure that I sent back the shrimp dumpling, aka Ha Gow. It tasted sour and off. I was so sure they would argue with me that it isn't bad. But I gave detailed comparisons to our many other shrimp dishes, and the server was cool with my explanation and refunded. I can't decide if I should ding them for one bad dish or applaud them for agreeably refunding cuz that just doesn't easily happen in a Chinese restaurant. I chose neutral and not include in my math.

Becky P.

Yelp
My favorite place to get dim sum north of Seattle so far. I got: lotus leaf sticky rice, shrimp noodle roll, fish congee, steam BBQ pork bun, chinese broccoli, and shrimp bean curd roll. This was for two people, and we ended up taking some leftovers home. I am always 100% satisfied with the taste of the dishes and service when I come. The shrimp noodle roll is on the thick side (which I like!) and flavorful, and the fish congee is the best one (I've tried all of them). It's giving fish without being fishy. My favorite dish is the BBQ pork buns - absolutely fluffy steamed dough with an intense BBQ pork inside. The ratio of filling to dough is perfect. This is a more casual dim sum place without cart service. The woman staff person who I've always seen here is literally the GOAT too. I've seen her take care of 6+ tables including ours. Everything always comes out quick, including the check at the end. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yoon W.

Yelp
Their foods were really good. The service was just okay. The server wasn't friendly but I think she might be busy and in rush to serve other tables too. We went there on Mother's Day so the shop was busy. I'd give five stars if the server were a little nicer to the customers. I'd go back and try again another time.

Margret C.

Yelp
There is a change of ownership and some items are no longer available. Aside from the price increase with much smaller portions, the taste that I enjoyed so much such as the turnip cakes are not the same any more. Everything seems to be sweeter. Regretfully I will not return any more. This used to be my favorite dim sum place but no longer.

M M.

Yelp
New ownership. Please read reviews before going. For the two of us we spent $70 for lunch!! I would not mind if the food tasted the same before the ownership change. But this was a huge disappointment. FOOD: The food was so bad we did not finish half the food and did not bother taking any of it home. We ordered the Stir Fried Soy Sauce Chow Mein. The noodle was cut up into small 1 inch strips. It was okay. The beef and pork noodle rolls, pork sui mai and fresh bean were awful and the worst dim sum and meal I've ever had. The meat was so tough, thick and dry. At first when I saw it, I thought it was ground beef. The rice noodle roll was so thick the meat fell out of the roll. It used to be the best where it was like a cloud of pillows wrapped round juicy beef or pork. The sui mai was like they plopped the meat in the middle and squeezed the wonton wrapper shut between their thumb and index finger. SERVICE: They were understaffed before the ownership change with two waiters and now they are down to one. I felt bad for her as some of the people walked out and some were verbally upset because they had to wait over 20 minutes for tea and for someone to take their orders. I used to be where the food was worth the wait. With this new ownership and poor service, wait until they taste the food!!! We will not be going back.

Alicia M.

Yelp
Very meh experience here. Came on a Sunday evening and it was quite empty. I do like how everything was prepared to order. No alcohol served though. Would have liked a beer with my meal. The piggy buns are cute. The custard inside is sweet. The salted egg yolk buns are very similar. A lot of the other items were lacking flavor. Needed to add sauce, which they didn't have much variety of. Overall wasn't impressed.

Ann R.

Yelp
This place changed ownership in May 2024 and is not as good as the past. The table was sticky, and the floor had bits of food. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned. The menu is reduced significantly, and prices are higher. The shrimp balls were mixed with fish and did not taste like shrimp at all. The spring rolls were gummy inside and looked like they were a frozen product fried up. It took a long time to order and longer to get our food. Lastly, the owners response to a poor review on Google was to admit some undercooked food but to argue other points and threaten to contact a lawyer about a wrong review. They've only been open a little while, maybe they will improve. We won't be back to try, though.

Mandy G.

Yelp
Not bad at all! My husband and I ate at Fashion Dim Sum on a Monday night when not a lot of restaurants were opened, and we fully enjoyed it. My husband has been once before when they first opened and did not like what they offered that time. Therefore we haven't been back since, and I am glad we did. We ordered many dishes and most of them met the standard. I spent all my summers in Hong Kong growing up, so I am very familiar with what each dim sum should taste like. The only dish that came a bit short was the turnip cake. The consistency was a bit too powdery. Our favorite dish was the rib rice steamed in lotus leaf, It was worth the wait. We will definitely go back to try more dishes.

Sandy L.

Yelp
Warning :New ownership since May. The food is not the same as before. Chow mein and deep fried shrimp balls were very greasy. Shu Mai tasted old. Salted pork bun was not great either.

Rugen R.

Yelp
I would highly recommend getting the shrimp bean curd roll, shrimp siu mai, bbq pork bun, and the piggy bun. I always get too much so I take home the left overs for a great small snack later.

Janet N.

Yelp
Came here for the piggy buns of course! Cute little custard buns with the perfect little faces and amazing sweet& salty inside. I never know what to order at dim sum and usually rely on someone else but fashion dim sum makes ordering easy! The menu has photos and they give you a paper and pencil to write down how many of each item you would like. Their Fashion Meals offer a hot pot option to share or dim sum combo for 2-3 people at just $25. Option B includes shrimp dumplings, taro dumplings, golden cakes and piggy buns. This choice gives you a little of everything and was surprisingly filling for two. We went with this option. My favorite thing was the taro dumpling. They have a shiny almost translucent wrapping and the filling is delicious! I'm a huge taro in sweets fan so trying a good savory taro dish was great. The shrimp dumplings are filled with large, juicy shrimp. I love these and could easily eat a bunch. I could probably do without the golden cakes next time but I'm glad to have tried those. I recently tried a custard bun for the first time and I've definitely been missing out! The egg custard inside tastes almost pumpkin like and they're the perfect amount of sweet and saltiness. Plus they are so cute!

Yelp
Fashion Dim Sum is probably one of the better, if not the best, dim sum places I've been to! Usually, the offerings are either bland, too greasy, fishy in taste, or just not tasty, and I had always left a dim sum place super unsatisfied, asking myself why I even agree to participate. However, Fashion Dim Sum changed my mind! This small place offers buns, balls, congee, rice dishes, noodles, noodle rolls, steamed and deep-fried items, pan-fried items, soy milk, and crispy dough. We came here for lunch while we were in the area, and we ordered: +the Piggy Bun - definitely ordered these because of how they looked, but while being super cute, they were actually super tasty, too - filled with creamy custard, this would have been a great dessert order! +Seafood Siu Mai - large chunks of seafood, this was a generous bite-sized siu mai that actually ended up being one of my favorites! +Shrimp Dumplings +Shrimp Bean Curd Roll +Deep Fried Shrimp Dumplings +Pan Fried Pork Dumplings +Pan Fried Chive Shrimp Dumplings +Layered Shrimp Balls +Pan-Fried Pork Buns +Juicy Pork Dumplings +Sticky Rice Shrimp Balls Everything was perfectly steamed or fried, and not too oily or greasy; everything had great flavor, and dipping it in a soy sauce/chili mixture added a nice saltiness to it all. Service was friendly, and we were given some recommendations as well. Note that this place gets packed, so try to get there earlier, or you'll have a bit of a wait. Parking is available in the small plaza lot. +Seafood Siu Mai +Piggy Buns +friendly service +parking available in lot

Yelp
Great service but food was just okay. Food felt underseasoned. Ambiance is fine, restaurant is spacious.

What N.

Yelp
Don't come here. This place has the best dim sum in the Pacific Northwest, but the line is often long. So please don't make it longer!

Sam Z.

Yelp
Too bad! After giving it a try, I removed this restaurant from my favorite list around this area after the recent ownership change.

Sharon G.

Yelp
This little strip mall dim sum restaurant is lovely. It's no nonsense with a great menu and quick service and has perhaps the best egg custard buns I've ever had. They also have great frozen dumpling and bun options to take home to your parents who haven't been able to go out to dim sum in two years due to COVID.

Timothy K.

Yelp
We came for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty busy. We seated ourselves and, after a few minutes, the server said "you need to mark down your order in the card." Ah, good to know! I usually do cart dim sum so this was a new experience. Our order came out in two waves. The lotus leaf rice was good, I'd say the siu mai was pretty typical, the bao was fantastic, we all loved the crunch on the layered shrimp balls, but the shrimp dumplings weren't properly sealed so they completely fell apart when we tried to pick them up and were a bit rubbery. As I was checking out, Fashion Dim Sum's only server/cashier let me know that what makes them different is that all dim sum is made to order. Cool! Maybe that's why the food was so toasty. Three of us ate well and the bill (including tip) came out to $115.

Sidney P.

Yelp
Have to say - this place has really disappointed us on our last couple of visits, and we won't be going back until something changes. For some reason that now serve everything on cheap little paper plates. And they serve hot tea in paper Dixie cups. It is an awful business decision and truly makes one wonder how clean this place is. I've never seen anything like it. The first time it happened we figured perhaps a dishwasher was broken? But on 2 more visits, it is the same thing. Bad form - so unappetizing and unappealing. Very disappointed!

Angeline C.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for a good dimsum place up north.. this place didn't impress me. First off, restaurant seemed really grimey and not kept clean. Bathroom was a nightmare seeing the dirty mops etc. We ordered the usual shrimp dumplings, sui mai, shrimp noodle roll, chinese broccoli & piggy buns. Shrimp dumplings had a thicker than usual wrapping/dough which turned me off. Sui mais were just okay.. lacked flavor. The best one were the piggy buns.. so cute looking and had an amazing egg custard filling. Omg it was so good. Other than that, don't bother with this place. The hunt continues for me...

Wilson L.

Yelp
This is a small dim sum spot in Edmonds. Service is what you would expect for a small Chinese restaurant. The food is not cheap, but pretty tasty here. I think the dim sum dishes are all pretty good. The wait is not too bad if you go early on the weekends.

Yelp
Really good, small spot in a strip mall. Tool the kids here back in March and we all enjoyed it. Piggy buns were a unique dessert and delicious. Prices were reasonable, service was great, as was the tea. Standard dim sum fare (ha gao, siu mai, chow fun, etc.). Mos def will be back esp with Ranch 99 up the street!

Yelp
Just found out this place that we have frequent so often just changed ownership. Menu is now greatly reduce, minimal pictures and added a few common dishes like garlic string beans and Chinese broccoli. We wanted to give it a shot with an open minded but the taste was just off. Smaller portion size, higher prices, reduced menu items, and it just didn't taste fresh, especially the steamed dim sum items. It was very disappointing. Maybe it's different chef from different region with different taste, not sure, but it wasn't for us. We liked the old Fashion Dim Sum so much better but that's just my opinion. Probably won't be coming back, which is really sad, not a lot of north end options, unless there are significant changes.

Yelp
It's definitely not as affordable as it used to be. A year ago shrimp dumplings were $6.50, now it's $8.25 plus tax. For 6 dim plates with 15% gratuity it was $63. The food tasted fresh & great. No wait - trick is to go for dinner on the weekdays! They are closed Wednesdays though. Parking is a little tight in the complex, there is a little bit of street parking. If you are coming from North, Hwy 99 has those large Medians now so you'll need to drive down & make a u-turn to get into the complex now. Not a huge deal, just a little annoying.

Yelp
This place is decent for the greater Seattle area - I've gone to a majority of dim sum places and this is one of the very few around here that I'd consider of good quality. We went around 1pm on a Saturday and there was no wait, but the place is small so it could get pretty busy quickly. We shared the har gow, siu mai, piggy bun, shrimp rice roll, and shrimp bean curd roll (deep fried). I liked the har gow as there was a good amount of fresh shrimp. The siu mai was also good and sizable, but I've had better. The piggy bun looks great and it has a sweet egg custard filling. Shrimp rice roll was a bit lacking as the texture is a bit on the mushy side and there was not much soy sauce to add much flavor. The shrimp bean curd roll was good - it is nicely fried and one of the very few fried dishes I will order again. Service is decent as they fulfill requests when we flag them, in a timely manner.

Yelp
friendly service and all items came out very hot. Just didn't like the food. Chicken and rice had no flavor . Very clean and organized place.

Yelp
Service I will give 4 stars ambiance is good too but the food it wasn't good at all ! The pork siu mai taste nothing but plain dried pork ...plain rice was served cold ! The spare ribs is too hard we just put soy sauce just to have taste ... im sorry but whoever prepares the food I don't think they deserve to be a chef

Yelp
Unfortunately, Fashion Dim Sum is extremely below-average. While good food could have made up for the sad, disorganized interior, the 点心 just isn't delicious. You'd be better off heading to Bellevue or Redmond for a more authentic dim sum experience. Also, extra charge for cilantro and green onions for the congee?! Unheard of.

Yelp
I would give this place a zero if I could. Quite possibly the worst restaurant I've been to in my life in terms of the quality of the food and that's saying a lot as I'm not a young person and I've been to a lot of restaurants. Under old management I thought the pricing was on the higher end for dim sum but the food itself was pretty good. Under this new management the prices somehow got raised but the portions hot smaller are almost comical. The lotus wrapped sticky rice consists of 2 postage stamp size portions of very bland rice each with 1 small piece of Chinese sausage and a little bit of chicken. And I believe that dish is over $11. Steamed wonton rolls had 2 pieces of small rolls that filled less than 1/4 of a small bamboo steamer. The beef rice rolls didn't even have enough beef to fill the rice rolls. I would've been willing to forgive all of those transgressions, but the beef in the rice roll had a very sour taste to it. I've eaten a lot of beef rice rolls in my time and I can assure you it's not supposed to be sour. I had to send it back. I can't even remember a time where I had to send a dish back, but I was afraid to let my kid eat that. We won't be back.

Yelp
New owners completely ruined the restaurant. Multiple families were complaining about food being cold and taking too long. I decided to give them a chance and the food tasted awful and not what it use to be. Workers were also rude and gave attitude. Do not go here.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Don't be fooled by the location or strip mall this restaurant is located in! It is a must try for anyone who loves authentic dim sum. We ordered three different types of dumplings and a few shrimp ball assortments. Everything was SO fresh and the dumplings were about twice as big as the typical dim sum items served elsewhere . The service was spot on and the restaurant has quite a few tables for eating in and appeared to be doing a great take out business. I live in Portland, OR so this place is a good 4 hour drive but definitely worth the stop anytime up north of Seattle.
