"Eating a croque monsieur is already a fork-and-knife situation, but you may need to add a bib when diving into the behemoth sambos at this no-nonsense croque specialist near Gare de l’Est. Their version starts with giant slices of fresh sandwich bread thickly layered with ham and positively doused in cheese sauce. What makes this place more delicious is the vegetarian iteration with sautéed mushrooms, nutty Comté cheese, herby tarragon, and a touch of mustard to offset the richness. The spinach one with two kinds of cheese is umami-rich bliss and is never a bad idea, too. Can’t choose? You can order a few halves to share or the tasting platter with a bit of everything, then grab a seat in the small yet airy dining room or one of a handful of tables outside." - Emily Monaco

Highly recommend! We loved the huge variety of Croques you can get here. Our favourite was the original Le Faste. We ordered 3 different ones and he split it evenly between the two of us. How kind and thoughtful! You can feel how dedicated and passionate the chef/owner is. It’s a one-man show and it’s clear that he’s put his heart and soul into his business. Very tourist friendly as there is an English menu and he speaks English too. Very yummy lemon mint water that’s given to you for free. Super cosy and comfortable to sit inside. In the toilet, he’s even provided hand towels, pads and tampons, wet wipes and dental kits to brush your teeth! Love your work, Nicolas! All the best with your business!

I stopped by Faste looking for a quick, comforting lunch and their Croque Monsieur completely exceeded my expectation. We ordered Le Faste and Le Veggie, both were scrummy. You can order a half or whole which I forgot to do, so you can try different flavors. I hope I can come back again someday. I was also impressed by cleanliness ans hygiene standards including bathroom.

All the hype worth it! Delicious on every front. Plus super chill spot, as my boys loved the couch. The Pastrami was hands down my favorite. Really great concept and cozy spot.

We tried halves of le pastrami, le chèvre, and le faste, and all of the food here was incredible, including the big cookie. The best “street food” lunch we’ve had in Paris. Highly recommend.

I didn’t actually know what a croque monsieur was, but it turns out to be an elevated ham and cheese sandwich covered in melted cheese—and let me just say, it’s amazing. After eating around Paris for a bit, this was hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Great price, quality ingredients, and friendly service. I watched the staff add a generous handful of meat to each sandwich—the pastrami was incredible. Warm, comforting, perfectly balanced. The veggie option had a nice texture, but flavor-wise, it didn’t quite compare to the pastrami. While we waited, the worker let us sit and watch him prepare the food, even offering us water. Such a thoughtful and welcoming touch.

I searched for the best Croque monsieur in town and I found Faste! The best choice ever! Simply delicious 🤤 and super cheesy! Definitely recommend it! And I tried the caramel cookie what changed my life!!! So moist, seems like a raw dough I could die for!! Thank you Nicolas! 🩷
