"Fat Boy Pantry curates everything we ever want to eat under one roof…in sandwich form. Ice cream (served in sweet buns), fried oysters, and ground lamb all get sandwiched between two carb-y slabs. The clean, all-white décor, La Marzocco coffee machine, and scoops of homemade ice cream all contribute to the modern soda fountain feel. Come for breakfast, come for lunch, come for dessert—the juice is always fresh, and the vibe fun. "

Google
Don't know about the food.. But the service and atmosphere were very unfriendly. The Google search stated that they were opened until 3 am. We arrived a little after 1 am. We entered, and there were people fitted at the table. However, we were told they were closed. But there are SIX white people sitting there. So as we are sitting in the truck to find another ice cream location....a car pulls up with two black men. They get out and go in the direction of the shop and don't come back. So my cousin and I went back to see if they actually went in. And sure enough, they are in the shop and sitting. Very unfriendly, unprofessional, and we will never visit again.

Had an awesome experience thanks to Tony! He was the only person working in the restaurant, and still managed to give excellent service, great recommendations, and even made the food himself—talk about impressive! Everything was made to order and absolutely delicious. Tony went above and beyond, and it really showed. Highly recommend!

Google
Well this was an awesome experience I had to stop here for a lunch break unexpectedly. I was very surprised at the product that I had which was a peanut butter and dark chocolate scoop of ice cream then a Philly cheese steak that is listed as U r Philly. Handcut fries well done. The fries are blanched and then fried. Got a regular dark coffee ice.

Google
I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a higher rating. The lobster po boy and Greek sandwich were incredible, and the fries were thick cut and some of the best I’ve ever had with perfect seasoning and a crisp exterior but fluffy inside. Portions were massive too.

Google
Everytime I come here after 9pm, I have an awful experience. First time I'm gonna post a review. I paid over $20 for a sandwich and fries. These are the fries someone took out of the fryer and gladly served. Shame on you. I understand the guy works by himself at night, but please staff one more person to carry the load :) OR, don't stay open late at night if you can't handle it. I understand he is overwhelmed being the only person there but I also don't deserve to spend my money and receive burnt food. The last time I came everything I ordered was sold out but how was I to know if rhe computer allowed me to order it? He said I had to get the havana with AMERICAN cheese on it. GROSS. I asked to change my sandwich and there was an attitude because apparently my food had already been put on the grill. HOWEVER, if I had known ahead of time the havana would only be able to be made with american cheese, i wouldn't have gotten it. I'm not trying to be a hard ass but please do better y'all. I work in hospitality as well and this is truly upsetting that I keep spending my money here just to get shitty service.

Google
We went to Fat Boys Pantry - for late night grub after a wedding. Burgers were very flavorful and delicious. The Egg Benedict was also delicious! Everything is made to order. You can pick and choose all of your toppings. The location has off street parking and it’s a nice vibe inside. There was only 1 worker in there at midnight, but he did everything and he was awesome! Put this on your list for late night cravings. They also have ice-cream.

Google
I went few years ago and had a pretty good philly sandwich. Well lots of changes has happened since my last visit. No more philly which was my reason for returning. Now you have to order from a computer screen. And must importantly quality has dropped. I order the bacon, cheese, and egg sandwich for almost $13 and it was just awful! So expensive. True rip-off! I was better off getting a breakfast sandwich at starbucks. They literally only put a tiny half slice of bacon. See picture. The burger bun was stale and falling apart. Nothing had flavor. Good amount of fries though, but i would have preferred a better sandwich experience. Very disappointed. Also the guy cooking was giving me dirty vibes. Not sure if he's actually washing his hands. And the bathroom was filthy with a clogged toilet of who knows how many days. So much toilet paper, feces and urine in it. Soap dispenser was falling apart. Definitely never going back!

Google
Service was friendly & great!! A cute spot for lunch- they have indoor community style seating with a large counter and stools or outside seating. Food- got the smash burger and it did not disappoint! If you’re looking for a yummy state-fair style burger, you can get it here! They have real potato cut fries! Everything was so good! I don’t think you can go wrong. Coffee was great too! Got the chai latte and they do have milk alternatives - almond and oat, when I visit!

Yelp
This is a very neighborhood location that's just down the street from the WW2 museum. We got sandwiches that are unique and unlike any other. They were served in butcher paper and on slab tables and highchairs. Quite the experience!

Yelp
Cupboards were bare at the Fat Boy Pantry. Literally 1/3 of the menu was unavailable, you place an order at a kiosk, and our food sat in the window after it was ready, bc the notification system didn't work. Killer Po Boys was 10x better.
google avatar

Yelp
Been twice. First time double cheeseburger and fries was great. Second time? Disgusting.. There was a young lady on the grill.. no love no passion while cooking.
google avatar

Gabriel N.

Yelp
What a Philly cheese steak. Are you kidding me!!!??? Goopy salty cheesiness with onions and meat chopped and cooked to perfection. The fries also - meaty and not over done. Mua! Order at a kiosk and pick up order at counter. Meh. Awesome, covered outdoor seating right on magazine street. Come here for the burgers, the cheese steak, the sandwiches. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite and ended up having a rather gluttonous, a fried lobster poboy. The poboy had a GENEROUS heaping of lobster and had a nice sauce on it. The bread was quite soggy though which is the only reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5.

Yelp
They got something going on with the late shift at this location... Went in to get a lobster aioli and it got handed to me with no aioli. When I ask about the aioli bro at the counter says "they didn't have much left" but he gave me the ounce of sauce he had left. I appreciate bro forking over what he had when I asked, but why didn't he say anything about the missing aioli? I was sitting across the counter from him while he was making the order. He could have let me know and I coulda ordered something else. Aioli aside, the cook was kind of mid. The fries were dry, overcooked. The lobster was also too done, no moisture at all. After I was halfway done another bro comes in and opens up big gallon container of aioli, which was sat like 6 feet from the first bro. My guess is they're having staffing/communication problems at night. I'll still take it over waffle house, but i'm not going out my way for it again till they get this figured out.

Yelp
This is a take out review. The juice was pretty standard. Beets aren't that tasty so don't expect it to be sweet. Now the sandwich did not look like the picture at all. I was in the mood for a panini so that's what I kind of wanted to see. It was still tasty but didn't look appetizing. The service was nice. Pretty standard for take out service. The fries were good as well. Nothing too crazy

Yelp
Get in here for some of the best sandwiches in the city. They always take Good care of you. And the fries are top notch. Be warned the lobster is market price. So id you aren't balling like that-slow your roll. Everything else on the menu is also amazing. But I have never had the meatball parm. Everything else is amazing.

Yelp
I met a friend here for a casual weekday lunch after passing by many times. The inside has more of a deli feel with a giant butcher block table in the middle and barrel like wood stools for sitting communally, a self serve fridge for cold drinks and a kiosk for ordering. There was a surprising amount of coffee, beer, tea and cocktail beverages available along with sodas. I would not have thought of getting specialty drinks here but might try one in the future. I ordered the Lamb Belly Gyro which came with fries. With a coke it was about $20. The meat was great and fries are amazing. The pita and toppings were okay. Would probably try something else next time. Overall the service was quick and efficient. Enjoyed it!

Yelp
The atmosphere of this restaurant was *chefs kiss*. The music was one of the first things I noticed about the restaurant and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has an extremely large and long dinner-style table in the center. The tree stumps as chairs was also a 10/10. It allowed me to sit criss-cross easily. The worker that assisted us was helpful and caring. He informed us to order at the kiosk whenever we were ready. After giving us our food, he passed around to make sure everything came out well. I got the Greek. It was a solid 7/10. Unfortunately, the lamb was extremely fatty towards the end of the sandwich. The tomatoes and pita were fresh. I personally found the tzatziki sauce too runny. I would definitely get it again with the feta cheese. The fries were a 9/10. I love home-cooked fries. They always taste better than frozen. They weren't overly seasoned like I like.

Yelp
I stepped in with my whole family & ordered basically everything. I personally tried the Philly Cheesesteak & I will say that it is one of if not the best one I've ever had. Amazing !!! After that, tried the pepper boy breakfast sandwich and some ice cream. The Frankenstein & The Ghost ice cream were one of a kind !!! Phenomenal service all around & the owner Briontae is a real good dude. I will be back for sure. Thank you !

Yelp
Fried Lobster PoBoy Oof this was the delivery order I regretted most. Partly my own fault--I wasn't as hungry as I thought I was. Decided to order this because of the high reviews. It wasn't terrible, but way way too heavy and salty to enjoy properly. The sauce was pretty good, I'll give it that. But mostly just a sad use of lobster and salty enough that I could feel my blood pressure rising.
google avatar

Yelp
food is like a 4.3 but service isn't. i paid $2.50 for avocados and didn't get them. i bought this to-go for takeout. check your food before you order!

Yelp
Food, service and Ambiance were EXCELLENT !!!! we came from Miami for a wedding and we were super impressed with the Sandwich and the ice cream. recommended 100% I LOVE IT!!!!

Yelp
At this point I think maybe it's my fault for giving them yet another try every so often, as the result is almost always disappointment. I can recall good food coming out of there, but there's zero consistency, and more often than not, food prepared by someone who doesn't give a f---. Tonight I made a last minute decision to not make dinner and have something delivered by GrubHub instead. Turned out that the food arriving late and almost cold wasn't the most notable outcome. Instead of the wild boar sloppy joe I'd ordered, I received the burger, flattened and far more tasteless than I recall. And despite appearing well done, the fries were undercooked on the inside and soggy on the outside. Basically whoever was there tonight didn't see the need to be bothered with a delivery order. So so many other places in town to get good food, my advice as a local to anyone visiting is skip this place. Now I just need to follow my own advice.

Yelp
Must try the lobster po-boy. Walked here with several colleagues while we were looking for a quick bite. The shop was clean, cozy, with several stools and countertops for folks who would like to dine-in. I had to order the lobster po-boy (MP, close to $30) because, hey, I'm in New Orleans, and glad that I did. The po-boy was filled with fresh-tasting bites of lobster, lettuce and just enough of a creamy sauce to hold the po-boy together. Although the lobster was fried, the crunch from the batter was just right, not too crunchy and not to soft. I do have to say that I was a bit sad when I finished my last bite. But for the somewhat steep price, I would have ordered more than one. After the order, there was a bit of a wait, close to 20 minutes, with about 3 orders ahead of me, before getting my po-boy. Thus, be prepared for a longer wait if it gets busier.

Yelp
This place has good ice cream, but not as good as Creole Creamery tho. They only have 6 flavors when we visit. My favorite is the Zulu, a coconut ice cream with chocolate. Normally, I'm not that big of a fan of coconut ice cream/dessert, cuz usually the coconut is just too strong, but this one has a good balance. Their Oreos n cream has a lot of oreo chunks in it, making it a little too sweet. PB&J is pretty good, too, but can be a little too much at some point. They also sell burgers and sndwiches here but we didn't try.

Yelp
FRIED LOBSTER PO'BOY!! First of all, I was in a rush. I had an appointment at Petal Salon a few hours before my cousin's wedding. I was 10 mins early for the appointment but hadn't eaten all day. I walked over to another restaurant nearby, it was a sit-down joint that had a wait of more than 10 mins. Leaving with only 6 mins to spare, I stumble upon Fat Boy Pantry. I ask the guy, I forgot his name, for the quickest but most delicious item on the menu. He quickly said the fried lobster po'boy. Looking at the "MP" next to it I was a little hesitant but I said, "Fluck it run it up!" The sandwich was done in under 6 mins. I planned to take it to go but the to-go wrapping had me finding for what was inside--so I sat to eat. LAWD! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Christopher R.

Yelp
I just came and got my favorite sandwich from there and the sandwich is missing half the ingredients! No ham or pickles! And dude making the sandwich didn't mention a shortage or nothing. I come for this sandwich only and it's no the same without the missing ingredients.
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
Got the lobster po boy based on other helper's recommendations. This food doesn't strike me as something that has a super long life so I dined in. It was delicious and I didn't mind the price tag because it was an experience. The people running the restaurant were kind and treated me very well. It's honestly the biggest reason I would go back. Just because they were awesome. They were handing out dog bones to the four legged patrons and good to everyone. Seating inside the restaurant is at giant tree stumps along a white raised table that has a really cool vibe. Outside on the street there are public park style tables. It is a fine place to take a date as long as it's not a black tie outing or something to formal for fries served on paper.
google avatar

Angelique G.

Yelp
This would be awesome for hangovers. We stopped by late afternoon, and I ordered a breakfast burger. A++++. It tasted like I had an old comfort food diner experience whose cook had been there half his life. Prices are a little steep, but it showed in the food. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely return!
google avatar

Yelp
Trust me when I say that I eat ALOT of burgers and fat boy has one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in a hot minute. Chef's kiss. The fries are thick fresh cut fries well seasoned just the way I like them. My fiancé had the gyro and said it was just ok. They have both indoor and a section for outdoor seating. Definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for a delicious cheeseburger

Margot B.

Yelp
Very mediocre. Felt like I could've made it myself. Yelp made me type these extra words to reach 85 characters.
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
Food Pretty great, I got the burger and while a little cheesier than I prefer, it also had two patties topped with onions and a special mustard that made for an all around salty and delicious meal. Fries were crispy which is good but thicker which is less good but all in all they were definitely better than most. Service Treated as a regular and felt very comfortable. Ambiance A little dead for a Friday night at 5:30 PM but the place doesn't seem to want to be a sit down restaurant anyways. If I lived around NOLA this would definitely be one of my mainstays.

Hortensia J.

Yelp
I want to start the review talking about the amazing dessert. The Frankenstein Ice Cream is out of this world. Every bite is a different culinary experience. I also had the Benedict sandwich which was amazing. The service is also spectacular! Highly recommend.
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
After a long day of football and beers, we needed some food in our bellies and Fat Boy Pantry did not disappoint. Open late and offering a variety of options, I went for a breakfast sandwich--the Eggs Benedict sandwich with smash potatoes served in butcher paper. The sandwich was delicious and had probably the best Hollandaise sauce I've ever had. I enjoyed the potatoes but didn't eat the entire serving because I'd had so many carbs already that day. The cook was very cool and everything we order was done well. As mentioned in other reviews, we sat at the community table on large wooden stump chairs and loved it. I can't wait to go back and try their other items.
google avatar

Yelp
Only been here for dessert, and it was outstanding. The affogato and fresh-pressed ice cream sandwich were very, very tasty.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Danny is awesome very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you so much for making us feel like family.

Yelp
One of the best things I ate on my New Orleans business trip. I ordered the Lobster Poboy and asked them to add lettuce because I knew it'd be rich and I needed some sort of vegetable. The sandwich ended up being 28$ but honestly it was worth it LOL. The sweetest and chunkiest pieces of lobster I've ever had in a poboy. The sandwich itself was huge and I ended up with another meal the next day. The fries it comes with are so good and crispy too. Service is a bit slow, but I would still highly recommend.

Troylynn D.

Yelp
Welp, I wanted to give the place a try... FOR $15 it's definitely not worth it walked in said "Hi" , no response just a look so I rubbed it off then he threw the food on the counter and walked a away I was like okkayyy well time to eat‼‼ the sandwich was wrong !! So I had a bad experience there overall. The sandwich suppose to be a U'z in Philly Sandwich...... I HAVE NO CLUE WTF THIS IS

Ashton W.

Yelp
My breakfast sandwich is missing 90% of them items noted on the menu. I ordered online and took it to go just to be extremely disappointed when I got home. I got the pepper and egg poboy that says it has hash browns, bacon, cheese, and avocado on it. I literally got a piece of bread with an egg and some chopped up green pepper on it and that's it.

Gigi M.

Yelp
I went a few years ago and had a pretty good philly sandwich. Well, lots of changes have happened since my last visit. No more philly, which was my reason for returning. Yelp
Terrible place I was trying to treat my mother to a meal here so we called to place and order and all I got was an answering machine saying to order on their website and that they are open everyday from 10am to midnight. So I ordered through there website just to pull up to pick up my food and to my surprise I find the restaurant locked at 2pm on a Tuesday and when I asked a worker on the block apparently they didn't open at all that day. This is already after their website taking my money and giving me a time for when the order would be done. To add insult to injury there is no way to request a refund or talk to any management of the place so essentially they took my money and scammed me 0/10 will never recommend.

Yelp
Great food to start off my trip in New Orleans! My first meal and we ordered the fresh squeezed juice, chicccory iced cold brew, fried lobster poboy and the meatball parm that came with fries. I would definitely recommend sharing as the sandwiches were really big for just one person. The fried lobster poboy was my favorite. The sauce and the way the lobster was fried was perfect. The meatball parm was a little much for me. Flavor was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the poboy. I would def come back!
google avatar

Art E.

Yelp
Excellent burger and incredible French fries. Excellent service and I truly dug the presentation of my food wrapped in deli paper with a rubber band on the outside. I dug the vibe and will definitely return
google avatar

Mew W.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite jams in New Orleans. Seems to be a local joint. Love the fresh clean juices. The detox, liver 911 is my favorite. Place is small with very few places to sit. Takeout is easy. Sandwiches are delicious. Have not had the breakfast food. Portions are good. Boars head sloppy Joe is a favorite. Along with the Philly type sandwich. Huge fresh cut steak house type french fries. Service is always good. Not too many people working so they can get a little backed up.
google avatar

Justin M.

Yelp
Dig a place where they serve green juice and alcohol and food at all times. Will probably come back and try other things even though was not that impressed with the fried lobster but at least they trying some different things. It was just too salty for one and felt like it was missing something to make it more complete. They put enough lobster which was great. Bread is soft and buttery which I also like. Fries were alright.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Danny the owner was very welcoming and happy to talk with our group. Ice cream is FANTASTIC and was worth the long walk. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very unique and will be coming back during my trip!

Yelp
Lobster PoBoy is to die for! I mean beyond Yummy and the mimosa are tasty too! Fried Lobster Poboy

Anna G.

Yelp
We were in town visiting and looking for a good ice creamery after a really late dinner. The folks at FBP were so friendly and excited to tell us about their ice cream. Their from-scratch pistachio has ruined me. Any ice cream I have will always be 2nd to it. I know their flavors change routinely and if I go back, it won't be there, so all I have are the fond memories
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
WOW! The lobster po boy was so amazing, easily the best and most flavorful po boy I've ever had. The sauce on it was delicious, amount of lobster was perfect, it was just so good! I will definitely have to stop by here every time I'm in town.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is fantastic. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries. Good food, good vibe, fast service. Even paired well with the apple cider suggested by the staff. What are you waiting for fat boy? Just go already!

A L.

Yelp
After reading the reviews, my husband and I decided to try this place. It was empty on a Saturday night. You order from a tablet and you wait for your food to be cooked. It's all self-service. You pick up your food from the counter and get condiments, utensils, and drinks from the fridge. The cook/server was rude and was mumbling to himself. We were very uncomfortable the whole time we ate. We ordered the wild boar sloppy Joe and it was really sloppy. It's nothing special. Just tasted like hot sauce. The only reason I'm giving a star is because the ice cream was good.
google avatar

Theresa K.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place for a while. So I decided to go yesterday, and it did not disappoint. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, and asked for recommendations since it was my first time. The sign on the wall was great making everyone feel welcomed that has indulged in food! I ordered The Greek, which is there own version of the gyro and it came with fries. I also ordered beet and orange juice. All of there juice is fresh squeezed and made to order!!! My order was a to go order. So the food was wrapped in butcher paper so I didn't realize the portions until I got home. Once I unwrapped it I saw the portions and was surprised and happy. It was so much food I could've definitely shared, but didn't want to lol. They also make their own ice cream!!! This place is definitely a must try. I will be frequenting this spot because there's so much more I want to try on the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Lobster Po boy was ridiculous. It was absolutely delicious and enough for two ppl. Those fries too!
google avatar

Gracen C.

Yelp
I can't believe this place has the kind of reviews it does but I guess maybe their other food is good. I got their fried lobster po boy and it was little popcorn lobster nuggets that were stringy and rubbery.. I can't believe I spent $40 on that sandwich. The nuggets were heavily breaded and the fries were beyond salty so had to run off the salt to eat them.. the aioli was good

Abigail W.

Yelp
I've been to fat boys twice and each time the customer service was very rude, the first time I got a po boy sandwich and the whole vibe felt like the workers didn't want us in the store even though they didn't close for 2 more hours, the second time I went, I got into the store at 11:15pm they close at midnight and the moment I walked into the door one of the workers rudely says "we're closed" even tho the music and lights were on, the chairs weren't on the tables, they basically weren't doing any prep for close. Don't believe I'll be coming back.

Lance S.

Yelp
The food was really good. Got a Philly and Meatball sub. Fries are amazing! The Philly was one of the best we had!
