A Hot D.C. Taqueria Unveils a Bigger Home — And More August Openings | Eater DC

"At National Landing, I saw the raw-fish-and-soft-serve-focused spot that started on the Wharf expand to a stall in the all-outdoor Water Park food hall, still selling poke, bento boxes, sushi, and soft serve in taiyaki cones while adding favorites like poke wonton nachos and spam musubi plus an Arlington-specific “The Landing Roll” with shrimp tempura and asparagus topped with seared steak and black pepper truffle aioli." - Emily Venezky

Not sure what kind of scam this place is running, but never have I ever ordered seaweed salad from a restaurant and half of what is supposed to be SEAWEED is salad greens! I’ve eaten seaweed salad for 23 years, never with salad greens. $7 for a side and they trick you by giving you half salad greens!! I know it’s seaweed salad but to dupe your customers with half basic salad greens is scamming your customer just to cut corners. Fat Fish should be ashamed of this terrible business practice. The sushi was good though.

The wharf roll was chef’s kiss. The flavor profile hit every taste bud I expected it too. Thank you to Executive Chef Luke for his explanation and extra care. If you’re in the mood for sushi, the wharf roll is a must.

A new kiosk restaurant has just opened at the Waterpark featuring Japanese food with all things sushi, tempura and bento boxes. My wife and I got a specialty roll and a bento box which was made quickly, tasted so fresh and was delicious. My only complaint, which is my complaint with nearly every kiosk restaurant is the price. It’s just so much to pay for lunch that there is no way I can go there frequently, especially when there are cheaper alternatives nearby that also taste delicious. I’ll definitely be back, there’s so much more of the menu that I want to try!

I tried this place for the first time and ordered bang bang shrimp. The bowl was full of tasty and well-balanced food. I hope my positive experiences will remain the same next time I go there and try something else. The staff was nice and accommodating.

This is a kiosk in an outdoor food hall. Unfortunately it took 30 minutes from the time we ordered on the tablet to when the poke/sushi was ready. There were only two people working, people ahead of us complained about the wait time for their food, and they seemed to be prioritizing Uber Eats/DoorDash orders over customers who were present. The food was fine, but be aware the seaweed salad is on a bed of lettuce so what you see pictured on the menu is a bit deceiving, it’s not all seaweed. Overall the food is good, but have to give the 1-star for the long wait at a takeaway kiosk. They probably need more staff.

Unbelievably slow. This is set up like a quick stop but I waited 30mins. No updates, no oh, we’re working on it. Then I finally get my food, sushi rice is not cooked! It’s hard! But to make matters worst, the shrimp tempura that should be in the roll is just tempura dough, NO SHRIMP! Absolutely no the worst sushi I’ve ever had.

The executive chef Lucas was on site and explained to me the different roles and the flavor profile for the sushi. I felt so seen as a customer and each bite was absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to come back!!!

Used to really love this place. The salmon bento boxes are great and the portion size is large for everything on the menu. Service is ok, but not sure there’s much service to be had with all ordering done online or through a tablet. Don’t come here if you are in a hurry either, for the bento boxes, I typically wait for 15 to 20 minutes. Small things that have bothered me recently is that all sushi rolls are made and cut with plastic wrap, the bento boxes now come in plastic containers rather than the cute cardboard boxes they used to have, and while they still advertise with taiyaki ice cream cones, the waffle cone offered now is just a standard hardshell (probably prepackaged) waffle cone. Good enough to stop by from time to time, but not a place I’d recommend.
