Chicago’s Restaurant and Bar Closures for 2020 | Eater Chicago
"I noted Fat Rice in Logan Square, where Abe Conlon’s acclaimed Chinese‑Portuguese Macanese fusion earned national recognition including a James Beard award, shuttered operations after running its dining room closed since March and operating briefly as Super Fat Rice Mart selling expensive meal kits, while recent public allegations from former employees about mistreatment further complicated its situation." - Eater Staff
Chef Stephanie Izard Apologizes for ‘Bibimbap’ Photo on Instagram | Eater Chicago
"A notable restaurant that faced public criticism over cultural missteps attributed to its former chef, and whose Logan Square location closed earlier this year; the controversy is frequently cited in discussions about cultural borrowing, accountability, and the real-world consequences for restaurants perceived to have mishandled or profited from cuisines of marginalized communities." - Ashok Selvam
What I Learned Covering Restaurants During the Pandemic | Bon Appétit
"Used as an example of how a single social-media act—like posting black squares—pulled down the curtain on the industry, revealing entrenched whiteness and sparking conversations about racism, microaggressions, fear, and trauma within restaurants." - ByElyse Inamine
Dizzied by Outbreak’s Challenges, Chicago’s Service Industry Rallies to Help Community | Eater Chicago
"A James Beard-winning chef and co-owner quickly launched pay-what-you-can take-home meal kits for industry workers and anyone affected by widespread closures; the kits sold out but an online waitlist is available and project updates are posted on social media. The team is seeking financial sponsorships and donations because recipient payments (for example, $5) don’t cover the cost of the $7 boxes being used. They are also planning a living virtual cookbook with new recipes so home cooks can recreate the restaurant’s style and flavors while in isolation." - Ashok Selvam
Been living in area for 6 years, love Thai been meaning to check it out. But sorry not the greatest. Rice was hard in places, roti was small hardly flakey, green curry like water and the lamb massaman strange gracey texture, flavours ok

Beautiful meal. Great food, friendly staff. Very Good prices. Recommended!
It would benefit from a few cushions on seats to buffer the restaurant noise a little bit and be a bit comfy 🙂 otherwise perfect.

Passed through for a quick Friday night takeaway. Wow, sensational food. Can't wait to come back and dine in. The best TA we have had for as long as I can remember. Thoroughly recommend it and look forward to sampling other elements of the menu. The peanut sauce with the roti is amazing.

Delicious food, great menu! Initial staff teething problems seem to be resolved. This is a small casual & relaxed restaurant, with a lovely vibe. Great for takeaways as well. Will continue to come back regularly as the food is REALLY good.
😌 Welcome to a great little Thai eatery in Mountie!
