Drinks are consistently awesome across all of the locations!! I do love this location because there is so much seating, which makes it a great place to hang out. Our favorites are: Watermelon cooler with coffee jelly, coconut taro slush with coffee jelly, and mango slush with mango popping boba!!I love Fat Straws!!! 🫶🏼

Fun spot with plenty of space to chill and munch on the mochi donuts. They have the best donuts. They are light and fluffy. They have some standards they keep year round, like the Churro (if you like cinnamon, then this is your donut). The Cookies and Cream is another good standard. I had the Ferrero Rocher this time. They crushed the candies for the toppings. It is delicious. Their teas are great as well. They will customize for you. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Mochi donuts here were disappointing compared to other places I've tried them from. The only reason for this that I can think of is that they're pre-made and not made to order like how some other mochi donuts make them. Friendly staff, large open dining area with plenty of seating.

Very cool boba milk teas with amazing flavors. They even add flavors so you don't get bored. Try their mochi donuts and order them in advance or they might be sold out! You won't be disappointed.

Please improve the online ordering. Today I ordered 4 of the brown sugar boba and all of them didn't have any boba!!! I didn't choose the option to add an extra serving of boba for $.75 more because I assumed it came with boba already. Soooo disappointed. This is the 2nd time I have ordered online and again it did not have any boba on the drink.

This place is locally owned and operated. Great vibe, great service and fantastic treats! The drinks are unique, and if you don’t like boba they have other drinks too. The mochi donuts are light and yummy. If you haven’t tried them-live a little. Can’t go wrong here.

Fat Straws is my favorite place to get boba! The drinks are great, the mochi donuts are incredible, all the staff is so kind. We grab drinks here at least once a week, usually twice!

We always crave for some fat straw. Its sooo good. EVERYTHING! We got some of their mochi doughnuts too. Yuummmm. Ordered and picked up quick.

Unfortunately did not get to try their donuts, but if they're as good as their boba, I bet they're incredible! The boba was delicious, though I wish there had been less ice compared to the milk tea! I will need to ask in advance next time. The server was also very fast and polite! I had my boba in less than a minute after I ordered.

I spent a few hours with my 10 year old granddaughter and she wanted to try boba. I have had it once before. Harold was working at the counter and he was very helpful. He said that boba is really a texture thing for people. Boba can be added to any of the drinks they sell for just $ .75. We decided to share a mango peach smoothie with boba. We each chose a thick straw in the color of our choice. The cool plastic on the top is sealed and easy to poke a straw or two through it. We sat at the big table in the restaurant for a few minutes. We took our drink to go and after we got home she decided she likes the smoothie better without the boba so I removed it for her. I think of boba as little round gummy bears. The restaurant was clean and decorated with fun bright colors and graphics. We had a great experience at Fat Straws!

Had the Strawberry Piña Colada smoothie (one of my absolute favs), the Mango Jasmine tea with mango jelly, and also got a Japanese mochi donut. The smoothie was pretty sweet and delicious; I finished it within a few mins haha. The tea had a nice fruity flavor and the mango jelly was the perfect add-on! Their mochi donuts are so good - decided to try the Fruity Pebbles one this time and I loved the crunchy texture on top of the chewy donut.

Fat Straws has hands down the best mochi donuts. They're chewy and on the softer side. The glaze is also not too sweet which nicely complements the doughy part of the donut. I particularly like the fruity pebbles mochi donut because the fruity pebbles add a sweet crunch to the donut that contrasts with the softness and makes a good combo. All flavors taste good and well represent their flavor name! VIBES Inside, there is good lighting from the window and lights inside. A very bright place with a cute wall (with mochi donut designs) as well as a cart with flowers on it. Very clean inside and spacious. A great place for studying and catching up with friends. SERVICE I ordered my mochi donuts online to pick up at 11:15 AM. When I came early (about at 11:00 AM), they had my order ready and were really mannered and kind when giving me my order. Always very pleased here!

Great location, wonderful customer service... Knocked out a couple of stars for the steep pricing. The milk teas here are mostly ice, approx 6 oz of fluids (with a large) and an extra .75 for boba. A bit steep for a boba milk tea, comparable to other locations. I waited to review after trying today (2nd time to visit) I asked for a small, no sugar with boba and lite ice. And it was still $6. As part of an avid boba drinking group, keeping the price around $5 for a large (with boba & tax) would be beneficial for consistent returns. But taste was great, your people are wonderful. Lighten up on the ice and price and you've got a bangin' business!

The Mochi donuts served here are AMAZING! I also had a few dozen catered for a wedding recently and I had no idea how popular they would be. I wish the cost of a dozen was cheaper, but honestly the taste is just so good that I can justify it. Shortly after the wedding, all my friends started showing me photos of them buying mochi donuts as I had turned them onto it. However, they didnt get them from fat straws and said they were disappointed in the flavor since the ones at the wedding were so good. The flavor is better, the texture is by far the softest and spongy and that is what I like. Tastes so fresh

That also is amazing and there is a bunch of like high school kids in there talking all like slang and stuff and I had to go on urban dictionary to see what they were talking about but the breeze or whatever they're called were amazing. The donuts are pretty fattening, but they're great and then overall prices mediocre it could be cheaper. Thanks .

Update: I think they made some adjustments to the matcha! I drink it cold and it has a great flavor, even without sugar. I work from here most days now and the customer service is still amazing. They have great management that is so friendly and welcoming. They have learned our names and even know our orders.

Looks great and line goes fast. Taro boba is great, I got it w Ice so I don't get brain freeze. The mochi donut is what put this place on the map for me with my perfect 5 star rating. Don't be Afraid of the black sesame. It's great!

I love the mochi donuts here and my favorite is probably the sesame. I enjoy how they are not overly sweet and the variety of flavors. Still plenty of options in the late afternoon on a weekday. Mochi donuts are soft and chewy, almost like soft and slightly chewy donut holes. You can get them individually or order a set. There's also milk tea and boba. I ordered the dalgona coffee since they said it was popular. It was probably my first iced coffee boba. Parking is ample and this is on a fairly quiet street.

Got a gallon of milk tea and a dozen of mochi donuts to go during the covid lockdown. They did an amazing job! We put in the order a day in advance so they would be able to make a gallon of milk tea. When we got there, we called them with our car model and they came out (masked and gloved up) with our order and set it in our back seat. The tea was great! I'm so glad they offered gallon and half gallon milk tea. And the mochi donuts were interesting. It was my first time having them. It has a chewy texture. If you like mochi and tapioca, you'll like this. I enjoyed the chocolate the most, then the strawberry and Oreo. The rest were okay. The passion fruit was too tart for me. I wish I was able to try their matcha. Next time! Gotta enjoy the mochi donuts day of. I had a couple the next day. It wasn't so great. So I prob shouldn't buy a whole dozen for myself hahah.

I came solely for their mochi donuts. I've never tried them before, but a friend recommended me try them because they're less sweet than traditional American donuts and you don't get sick of them as easily. I would definitely agree with that review. They're "stickier" in texture. I really enjoyed the strawberry and blueberry flavors. Their bubble tea is a huge miss for me. I ordered the original milk tea with boba, and as soon as I took a sip, I regretted ordering it. It tastes very Americanized. It's severely lacking in an authentic tea flavor, and the boba is also cooked quite poorly. It's mushy and doesn't have a nice bounce when you chew on them. I would probably come back and order mochi donuts, but be mindful that they are on the more expensive side. A dozen is $25. I would stay away from their milk tea.

I'm loving the size and fresh look of this place! It's great for large groups to hang out or if you just want a chill place to study while sipping on some boba! Just like the other locations, the boba doesn't disappoint! The staff is super friendly and very helpful when you have questions for them. Personal fav: Strawberry banana smoothie with boba! My fall fav is pumpkin spice milk tea with boba...I've had it hot and cold and they're both delicious! Can't wait for fall flavors to come back!! I def expect to be here more often since it's so close to work!!

The place was so cute! The staff was a but u kind when we asked which drinks didn't include tea, but they still were very quick with our drinks and did a great job! The drinks are a lot sweeter than you think, especially without the tea. The coconut milk tea (with no ice l, no tea and 50% sweetness) was super good, a little chalky and really warm (even though i'm not an ice girl I would definitely get ice next time). My friend got the taro milk tea (no tea and 75%) was pretty sweet but good and the ice cooled it down a lot. Overall though the tapioca pearls were perfectly cooked and we'd go back there again!

Honestly I would come here just for the mochi donuts! They are super yummy and decently priced. Going here with friends is the best way to try all the flavors. The passionfruit was my favorite because while it was on the sweeter side, it was also a little tart so it balanced out nicely. I wouldn't recommend if you don't like sour and sweet together. The fruity pebbles was as expected in terms of taste. I liked the crunch that came from the cereal as it was a good contrast from the cheey donut. The blueberry is a good and safe flavor to go with as it's not overwhelmingly sweet. Strawberry was okay to me because I couldn't really taste the berry flavor. Employees were super nice and the inside of the store was clean. It had plenty of seating and games in the corner. They have a student discount from 3-7 (not sure if it's every day though) The drinks were the only thing lacking for me from Fat Straws. The boba was way too soft for me, there wasn't enough chew to it (It didn't fall apart or anything, it just they cooked it a few minutes too long for my personal liking). I had to let it harden in the drink a little to get it to my liking, texture wise. I got the peach green tea at 75% sweet but it wasn't sweet or super peachy at all. At the end of my drink, it just tasted like water. I would opt for 100% sweet or something because their drinks are overly sweet at all. My friend's avocado smooth was alright as well, (we couldn't taste the avocado in one sip)but the color wasn't pretty. They probably used over oxygenated avocado resulting in a more pale brownish green smoothie. Tea of the Day was good though! I'm not sure what it was but it's a good concept to have and keeps things interesting. All in all I would come back here for the mochi donuts for sure but maybe not the drinks. I might give them another shot as the drinks are reasonably priced so I didn't feel like it much of a loss.

If you wanna have boba tea and mochi donut, this is the place to go!!! Really fun flavors of mochi donut and milk teas, infusions, brews, blends, and so many jellies to choose from to add to your boba experience! I love the open space and colorful decor of this place with nice couches to rest my feet!! Definitely a 2 thumbs up kinda place!

Love this place so much!! Their mochi donuts are amazing and perfectly sweetened. I love how their flavors are there and the texture of these were everything you wanted! This location wasn't as on point as their other locations but it is still good. If you haven't tried it, go check them out.

I got the large mango strawberry fruit tea with boba ($5.54) and forgot to request for less sugar, so it was a lot sweeter than I could handle. But since it's a water-based fruit tea, it could be diluted (even more tea that way). Otherwise, it tasted fine and refreshing; the flavors were strong, though the strawberry overwhelmed the mango. The drink was ready in less than a minute after paying (one of the admirable things about every Fat Straws I've been to).

Oh the coolest of beans. Fat Straws is the mecca for all things bubble tea in DFW, but don't sleep on their mochi donuts. Light and chewy makes it a bit guilt-free. Does chewing excessively count as a workout? We go mad for matcha, all day every day. Order them online too :)

I'm OBSESSED with @fatstraws MOCHI DONUTS ! Love the unique combination of Japanese Mochi with American donut (like wow who thought of this). There are 8 flavors to choose from and my favorite is probably black sesame!! I prefer to get Slushy + Smoothies here instead of milktea! Their fruit tea are also really good! NOTE: I love that they have non- dairy options and sell reusable straws and cup! Their milk tea are a bit too sweet in my opinion so remember to ask of half sugar for normal sugar level!

Very cool combo with the mochi donut! They have a pop up shop in Houston! Got to try a few flavors! Everything was great and enjoyable! My favorites were the pandan, black sesame, and the Ube. Love how it wasn't too sweet. But the difference maker had to be the texture. It's difficult to explain. It's literally half a mochi and half a donut. The only thing is if I wanted a donut I would get a donut and if I wanted mochi I would get mochi. I don't think I'll ever have strong cravings for a mochi donut. It's so inbetween for me.

Cookies and cream mochi donut is amazing! It's squishy, chewy and not too sweet. I can't wait to come back for it. I ordered milk tea and boba. I like how the milk tea wasn't too sweet. The boba was kinda hard so I didn't like it that much. The place is large with lots of tables and booths to eat, drink and hang out. It was really clean too. Staff was nice.

I come here mostly for my daughter but now that I have discovered the doughnuts I may have to come on my own from time to time. My favorite is the strawberry glaze. My daughter loves the teas that they make and I will break down one day and order one myself. Staff is always friendly and helpful with explaining the different types/options available.

Although I did not purchase anything here, my friends did and they had a great experience and told me how great this place was. The concept and the location was gorgeous and very cute. I really loved the menu options, and had I been more thirsty, I would have gotten something. But the prices seemed quite reasonable and I loved the little mochi doughnuts that comes on top of them, very cute and looks very tasty. My friends all said their drinks were delicious and drank them all up very quickly.

Such a cool spot! My son and I stopped into this place when I was craving some matcha and randomly googled a spot nearby when TA-DA! Fat Straws popped up. I'm glad we ended up choosing to visit place because my sons obsession with donuts is fo real! I had no anticipation of them having donuts, so it all worked out. He picked out a mochi donut and was completely satisfied. They're so fun looking too and kept saying calling it his bubble donut lol. My matcha was great! I ordered it with coconut milk and we were in and out pretty quickly. I love that they have curb side pickup as well. I'm sure they have moments in the day where they're busier to make that very convenient, but around 4:30 they were pretty chill. We'll be keeping them in mind for the next time that we're over there and want the perfect combo of matcha for mama and donuts for the kiddos.

This place is huge! Same familiar menu as the other stores but with a much more friendly atmosphere for hanging out in groups. Staff are super nice, attentive, and patient. Mochi donuts! I'm not a big fan of donuts but I do like mochi. The donuts are made with a mochi consistency, which is slightly chewy. It is kind of expensive at $2.50 each or a dozen for $25. However, don't knock it until you try it. They offer multiple flavors ranging from matcha to chocolate. They also offer bubble tea here but they're ok. There's definitely better boba shops around the city. The workers are super friendly here too!

I love fat straws but this location is by far the worst location I have been too. I just happened to be in the area and decided to give this place a try because I heard they just opened. Came in and my order was taken but the person making my order had no clue what my order was and had to be repeated it like 2 times.. The drink came out fast but it was so icy and powdery and had fibrous stringy texture all at the same time. It was so disgusting and not like the other locations.. Never coming back here. Not until they train better or something. It was super big too and the location seemed great for hang outs but it was super empty.. I was the only one.. but after I got my drink I realized why. Never again. Don't come here go to another location instead.

Fat Straws Mochi Donuts are dangerously delicious! It is a pity they don't open earlier. Cannot wait to go back and try different flavors of the Mochi donut! Soft and fluffy pillows of doughy goodness, with a balance of textures that is divine! Try it! You'll love it!

Fat Straws is always a safe bet if you want boba. The drinks are consistent and yummy. I have been to other locations but I decided to pay a visit to the Richardson location. The inside is clean cut and pretty. The colors just scream happiness and yums. I finally tried the mochi donuts. And I liked them more than I expected. I was worried it would be an awkwardly chewy donut. But to my surprise it was just the right amount of chewy! And the matcha icing was really tasty. This is a great place to enjoy your boba and have plenty of seating. That is, if you don't mind the college student hang out scene. But if you are a college student, bring your ID because they have a special happy hour discount.

Opened in June, this place boasts bubbled beverages to make Taiwan proud alongside easy-going music. Bonus: it's spacious. I walked in with one goal- to be caffeinated. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Akin to its prior locations, you have your choice of tapioca bubbles and/or jellies (mixed, mango, strawberry, coffee, pineapple, green apple, lychee and grass). This venue comes complete with WiFi. They have a public parking lot. What more does one need? Sip. Chew. Smile. Repeat. 乾杯! (kan poe/pe!)

PROS *Mochi doughnuts are delicious and interesting. I especially liked the texture. *Ability to pull doughnut apart piece-by-piece was kind of neat. *I recommend the cookies and cream doughnut. CONS *The flavor options weren't very exciting, in my opinion.

Not a fan of sipping 2 sips before I run out. Too much ice and not enough drink. The matcha donut taste like Golden Chick fried chicken. I love GC but that doesn't mean I want my dessert to taste like one.

I used to visit the Plano Fat Straws every week back when I was in high school, so I was super excited to hear about this location opening since it's so close to UTD. I finally had the chance to stop by and WOW! This location is super spacious and I love how they now serve Mochi Donuts. The Blueberry donut was super delicious and chewy, however I do have to say, in comparison the cookies & cream donut seemed to lack in flavor. Friendly employees and yummy first mochi donut experience!!! 2 for around $5. Was excited to try this trendy treat. My first bite, if I'm being honest, was a bit underwhelming as it tasted not all that different from a regular donut. But the more bites I took, the more I was able to distinguish between the nuances of flavor - although that traditional donut taste was present, so was the unique chewiness of the mochi inside that kept me going until the donut was gone. Also was our first time in the Richardson location and found it to be super spacious compared to Plano's.

All around amazing, I'm so glad Fat Straw exists!! A chain restaurant located only within the Dallas area, for now, that specializes in mochi donuts. Called mochi donuts, for a chewy bite very similar to bitting into mochi. At the time I stopped by, they were doing flavor specials for the lunar new year. I got the pandan, black sesame, and ube flavored donuts, along with a brown sugar boba jasmine milk tea! Visually appealing donuts, with vibrant colors! The flavor was strong with the black sesame donut. If you like nutty flavors, then you'll like this one. Pandan was more subtle, I tasted more of the coconut than anything else. I still don't know what pandan tastes like. The ube one was my favorite, so sweet and pretty in light purple! On point tea with chewy boba. Fat Straws now offers the Instagram famous dalgona style coffee. I appreciate establishments that jump on trends quickly to offer high quality trendy items. This place is located on the steps of the UT Dallas campus. Those students are lucky to have a place like this so close by them! Online ordering was intuitive and easy.

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations of this place due to previous experiences at other franchises. The drinks were usually always bland and the boba was too hard. Fat Straws at this location has proved me wrong! I got the pandan (young coconut) mochj donut, Vietnamese iced coffee, and taro milk tea. Both drinks were flavored very well! The coffee was strong yet sweet, which I really enjoyed. The taro milk tea, which is typically too sweet at other boba shops, had just the right amount of sugar. I really enjoyed the mochj donut but the pandan flavor wasn't very prominent. I'm definitely coming back to try some of the other drinks and mochj donuts that they have to offer! This is also a great place to study since it's so close to UTD!

Family love the mochi donuts, I've been sent on multiple occasions to pick them up. Darn them and their discount when you buy a dozen. Even though we only need 6 there have been a number of times I bought the full dozen. Great flavors and to name a few of the winners for our family are the Fruity Pebbles, Black Sesame and classic chocolate. Honorable mentions go to green tea or matcha and coffee.

Sad news.. Fat straws has changed their boba/tapioca pearls and switched them for non-flavored, hard to chew boba/pearls/tapioca bubbles instead.. the texture is like biting plastic balls, very hard to break.. ruins the whole drink and experience. I can no longer go to Fat Straws anymore because of this. I hope they change back to the old kind.
