Father's Office Arts District - Review - Arts District - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You probably know the Father’s Office burger. But you might not know about their laid-back Arts District location—it's three times the size of the original space in Santa Monica and perfect for a post-work group gathering. The dining room looks like a massive log cabin with a sloped wooden ceiling and leather stools lining the bar. Beer, wine, and cocktails take up the majority of the menu, so expect to show your ID at the door. Along with their now-iconic burger with caramelized onion and blue cheese, there’s dishes like fancy tater tots and duck confit salad to snack on. They don’t take reservations, but we’ve never had a problem getting a last-minute table here with a crew at primetime." - Nikko Duren

Google
The vibe was great and located in near art district. We searched the best burger in LA, it recommended this one. I tried the burger, it came with a sweet barbecue sauce, not focus on cheese and beef. It’s great and special. The price is little high, I ordered burger with chip and beer over $30.

Google
What can I say… their famous burger is to die for. Cooked to a perfect mid rare, caramelized onions that add the perfect sweetness, and arugula to top it to give it the perfect peppery bitterness. So darn good! Beer selection is amazing. They used to be the place with the craziest selection but there’s definitely better places now. All my other items were just okay. Definitely just go for the burger and beer. Also don’t forget! They don’t do ketchup :)

This 21 & over gastropub is located in the Garey Building, corner of E. 2nd St. and S. Garey St. in the Arts District, DTLA. Parking can be challenging during peak hrs, but we were lucky enough to find a spot in the "Perfect Parking" alley-style lot @$5/hr on the east side of the building at 929 E. 2nd (although the pub advertises $8 flat parking when you dine with them, we just couldn't figure it out). The area feels really safe. I was hesitant to go here because they do not permit any substitutions and/or modifications to any menu items, but I was extremely satisfied with everything here. We stopped on Saturday evening for dinner, walked right in, and grabbed a table. You scan the menu at your table and go up to the bar to place your order (the menu is also listed at the bar). They'll give you a number, then deliver your food to your table. I tried "The Office Burger," which consists of bacon compote, caramelized onions, arugula, Gruyere & Maytag Blue cheese on French bread accompanied by a "Basket of Sweet Potato Frites" and an "Allagash White" to drink. Everything tasted amazing, the food so fresh cooked to perfection with great presentation. No ketchup and/or mustard, so don't ask LOL. The beer was perfectly cold and satisfying. The bar is clean, spacious, and organized. Closed Monday & Tuesday. Clean restrooms. Overall, we had a great experience at this location.

Google
It’s been awhile since we visited Father’s Office. The service was great and very personal, staffs are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The Father’s Office Burger is a must…. I personally prefer rare, you will not be disappointed. They also have some rare Russian River Brewing Company’s beer on tap, including Pliny the Elder. IYKYK. Kudos to the bar tender Jaci for her recommendations.

Google
Nice place to grab a drink. Inside is spacious with lots of seating. It has an open window front. No TVs. But it can get pretty hot in there. There's no AC or fans so when it's hot it just stays hot. It's a good place for groups though. Good drinks. The food is just ok. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking but you might have to walk a block or two. There's also pay lots nearby.

Google
Got the office burger and fries. It's insane that this burger costs about $25. It's small, about the size of a hot dog bun, and doesn't live up to its price. At most I'd pay $8 for it. The cheese is overpowering and the patty itself has a mealy texture. The fries are similarly disappointing. They don't come with the burger and they're very thinly cut which means they have no substance and are almost impossible to eat. Imagine trying to eat a bird's nest and you'll get an idea of what it's like to eat the fries. Parking is paid or you can try your luck at finding street parking - you won't find any. The space itself is nice. It's vast inside but it still has an intimate feel. The service is attentive and prompt. Absolutely no issues with that. Drink service is quick and the drinks themselves aren't bad. The biggest problem with this place is the disappointing, overpriced food.

Google
10+ years ago, I went to the Santa Monica location and had the most memorable burger in my life! Unfortunately, this burger was not as memorable. I dont know if it was being in a roll, or the patty being more rare than medium rare and no char. That said, it was good, but i didnt leave wanting to come back! 😔 Wife has the octopus salad, which was small and left a lot to be desired. Also had tater tots. Portion seemed small and the aioli was overloaded with lemon. It was crazy tangy! The atmosphere is super cool and felt spacious. Maybe i'll try it another 10 years and remember how great it was the first time!

Google
Good food and fast service. Music selection was a bit questionable at Times or a bit too loud on a few tracks. Ordered a burger, Brussels sprouts, bone marrow, and deviled eggs to share. Burger was done medium rare and this was a mistake. Not that the flavor was off, but a medium rare burger is far too soft, the texture of the entire thing was just mush overall and I didn't feel like I was actually eating a burger, I could have gummed the whole thing. I would have preferred medium at least but it wasn't my call, so I won't hold it against them. Although it would have been nice if they could have mentioned this somehow, that it would just end up lacking any texture. Brussels sprouts were Both what is expected, small but whole with a tiny bit of smoky char. Nothing exceptional but tasty. Not a huge bone marrow guy (it's just oil and fat...) so no comment. Deviled eggs had a touch of spice and a bold flavor which I really liked. I had an old fashioned to drink (felt appropriate for the locale) and it was refreshing with good citrus flavor without being too bitter.

Yelp
This is my fave location out of all the locations; it's big, it's airy, and filled with light. Parking is also easier than some DTLA spots with a few garages nearby. We stopped by for a quick pre-dinner snack and everything was yummy. You go up to the bar to order and they bring your food out to you, and it was all pretty fast. If you order drinks, you just collect those at the bar.

Yelp
2 stars due to service Food: 10/10 - Such great burgers Service: I've been here before and forgot my id this time, but I had a picture of my id. The person at the hostess bar was nice enough to ask for the manager, but the manager was a jerk. I showed a picture of my id and his response was a condescending - "could you drive with that card if you had a picture of it." I get it, I don't have a real ID but he could have been more understand or fake nice about it instead of condescending - especially in the customer service industry.

Yelp
What a fantastic place for a drink and some phenomenal food! First, parking is on the street, pretty easy, I usually can find a spot around the neighborhood, but you may have to drive a little distance and walk a few blocks, but it's easy walk. I went on a Sunday night about 2hrs before closing, and it was pretty quiet, sat down easily at the bar, which was a nice quartz countertop (pretty sure that's quartz). Got the menu right in front of me behind the bar and on the QR code as well. Lot so good options. I got the Office burger, which was freaking fantastic, got it cooked medium, great flavor and texture, the right amount of chew and flavorful, with a lot of arugula packed inside, so it was lean meat plus lot of veggies between some fresh buns. Highly recommended. I also shared a Prime Hangar Steak, which was cooked medium, came out delicious (more like medium rare in finish), and I complemented the main dishes with some sweet potato fries, which were crispy and came with a nice dressing on the side. For beer, I wasn't sure what to get so our bartender Kemp recommended the Figueroa Mountain Agua Santa Cerveza, it was some of the best beers. I don't like hoppy beers usually so I don't drink IPAs and rarely hazy IPAs, and I wanted something light and refreshing, and this Agua Santa was the perfect choice. Thanks for the great recommendation! Ambiance is great. Casual feel, but also would fit an upscale bar restaurant vibe. Highly recommended for work dinner/drinks or a nice night out for a date. Will be sure to come back again very soon!

Yelp
No happy hour, limited street parking (it's the arts district DTLA), and when our group went after work on a Thursday there was only one bartender who had difficulty keeping up with the orders. Their version of a whiskey sour was not good but the beers and fries were fine.

Yelp
Met a friend here to catch up. Have been to Father's Office in years, and that was the Santa Monica location, but always had fond memories of the office burger. So came here to see if my memories were real or just something I made up. The restaurant is self seating, and you order your food at the bar. They also have a wealth of beers available as well as cocktails, though the cocktail list is more limited. We both ordered the Office Burger, though my friend didn't really eant a burger, he just got it because I told him I remember it being phenomenal. Food arrived at the table quickly, as it wasn't busy (around 530p). Biting into the burger brought back so many great memories (felt like that moment in Ratatouille). The bun is very soft, while the meat is cooked perfectly (you can choose for you want the best cooked, that's the only choice you get regarding the burger). The caramelized onions have a nice sweetness and the blue cheese covered with the gruyere takes it to a whole different level. My friend was mid sentence when he said, "This burger is amazing". Just interrupted his whole other thought to let me know. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a burger that will reset your bar for what a burger can, and should, be

Yelp
Food was amazing and so were the drinks. The mixologist served classic cocktails and some with a unique twist. They had a great selection of craft beer too. Combine that with great ambiance and friendly staff and this place is a win.

Yelp
No modifications allowed. Regardless if you are allergic. Horrible!! Won't return. No reason for a "fancy beer bar" to have rules. Who cares that it plays into the "father's office theme". I'm paying and want my food the way I want it. Sooo I guess I'll take my money else where since yall don't need it.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice. Fun casual place to hang out with friends. We couldn't bring our kids and got a babysitter. It was actually kinda nice to have a quiet restaurant without (other) loud kids. The only thing I didnt like was that they closed by 9pm on a Thursday, which I felt was a bit too early. The burger was good. I heard the bartender say it is Michelin rated. I ordered rare and to my surprise it came out rare. That almost never happens. I usually get served a medium rare burger. The burger had a great flavor and was everything I could want in a burger. The hanger steak was ok. Tender. Flavor was good. Just nothing amazing about it. I had tons of steaks and this one was not noteworthy. For the price it felt very average to slightly ehhh. The fries were good. The sweet potato fries were good too. Overall a solid 4. I would come back again

Yelp
Went to the Father's Office for a birthday celebration, and what a celebration it was. Ambiance was perfect, the pours plentiful with an overwhelming selection, and the food was sensational as well. Everyone raved about the burger, that it's the "best in LA." Our host was so generous, unlimited appetizers just kept circulating and being served. This is a great space for a gathering, for flying solo, or for a stop to wet your whistle. Special shout out to Hunter, the bartender, who does his job well and is beyond superb! Street parking available but be aware of signage. Parking garages nearby as well.

Yelp
New location; impeccable. Service model the day I went in was not popping. No organization to the line; luckily everyone was chill that nights Definitely had a group min the bar after closing, but I feel that's because out of all the arts district spots how you gonna close so early with your offerings / fathers office in arts is a destination location. Burger seemed smaller than. Last time I ad it )@ Helms), but still hit. Outdoor patio is enough communal tables to make my 2010 heart sing, but limited to 3 in a gated area. Only gripe is the sweet closing cashier fielding thru beer choices when everyone only wants the best tasting with highest ABV

Yelp
This is the only office I'd stay overtime at. I love coming to Father's Office for drinks and bites after work. I've been here on two occasions now, and the vibes here are unparalleled. The format is set up where you order food and drinks at the bar, and the tables are open seating. This does cause a bit of a seating problem, especially right after work when everyone wants a drink and people save seats. But when my party did find seats, service was great. I love their burger here--probably one of the best I've ever had! I'm normally not a bleu cheese type of gal, but paired with the flavors of this burger, i actually don't mind the cheese. And you can't skip the sweet potato fries! They're so so good and such a generous portion. They have a wide selection of beers on tap, which made choosing a little difficult. The only anecdote I'd like to share is that I got carded by the same employee twice less than 10 minutes apart between each instance. I would think they'd be a bit more attentive since there weren't many customers at that time yet, and she did apologize (since I was alarmed seeing her approach again), but I guess that just means I'm looking good for my age. But also FYI, the crowd grew quickly thereafter! So bring the whole office gang for a cheers after work at Father's Office!

Yelp
Came in for drinks after work. It's a big space inside, very modern with plenty of seating. No TVs. It's good place for groups. It has an open window front. If you're coming here to beat the heat, maybe pick a different spot. It was pretty warm inside and there's no AC or fans so it kind of just stays hot in there. The food is just ok. I liked the salt and vinegar tots. I got the chicken sandwich, the chicken was pretty good but I didn't like the taste of the slaw. The drinks are good though. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking but it fills up fast. There's also a few pay lots nearby. Overall it's an ok spot to grab a drink, I'll come back when the weather is a little cooler though.

Yelp
Paid a visit on a Sunday evening. They check ID at the door as this establishment is intended for 21 and over. Love the vibe of the venue! They had dim lit lights, modern yet industrial aesthetic to interior design, and the place wasn't too crowded. There's good music, and it wasn't too loud. We were able to seat ourselves wherever we wanted then ordered food and drinks at the bar. They had some strict rules regarding no alterations or substitutions for the menu items. This was a bit intimidating as I ordered the Father's Office Burger and it came with blue cheese. I'm not a fan of blue cheese but the amount put in was very tolerable! Burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and you can taste the aged beef. Burger was very juicy, had sweet caramelized onions and fresh arugula to balance out the richness. I also ordered the Spanish mushrooms. It was served super hot. Upon initial bite, the splash of vinegar described in the item description was strong but as you let it cool, the zing and tang mellowed out and was actually really appetizing. I came with friends so I was also able to taste the salt and vinegar tots and cauliflower. Tots were crispy and had just enough zing accompanied by a parsley aioli for dipping. Cauliflower was seasoned with many spices that gave the aroma of curry and red pepper. Atop the cauliflower was a citrus slaw. These were both very good as well. Sampled a few drinks with friends so I was able to try their beers. I'm not a beer fan but these beers were special and unlike the regular stuff you get at the supermarket. I had the pleasure of sampling the Bottle Logic Hanamachi Yuzu, Garage Brewing Mango Hefeweizen, and Russian River Row 2 Hill 56. The yuzu beer was really nice and refreshing. I did hear the bartender mention they change their beers seasonally so I hope people get to try these while the flavors are around. Service was excellent. Staff were charming and attentive. The hours say they close at 10:00pm on Sundays but they start doing last order for kitchen items around 8:30pm when friends and I were there so plan your visit accordingly if you plan on eating. Conveniently, there is street parking with meter or the garage parking for the Garey restaurants. No need to fight with others in dtla to get a parking spot since there is plenty.

Yelp
Many people like Father's Office from Culver City might need to learn their DTLA location. It is at the Garey Building in the Arts District, near Little Tokyo's Metro. It has a modern, industrial-chic design that is very spacious, and it has plenty of seating, which feels less crowded than Culver City. They are a gastropub famous for their Office Burger, but you must order fries separately. They have an extensive selection of craft beer, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The burger was really solid and the drink I had, the last word was quite good. Service workers were not very friendly otherwise this would be 4 stars.

Yelp
Showed up last night (Wednesday) around 5:30pm and we were literally the only customers there! Sat at the bar and had excellent service with Amanda. She gave me a beautiful pour of my yummy Pinot Grigio wine, and helped us pick the barley salad to go with the burger. The food was perfect. Burger (medium) is always epic, the frites with it are perfect. And the barley salad was soooo tasty! A nice cold refreshing vegan salad with a smoky bbq taste. I've never had anything like it. We got lucky with street parking about 2 blocks away. My husband wishes they had mocktails or more special drinks for non drinkers. Like ginger beer or an Arnold Palmer or something. They should look into that! Otherwise it was a wonderful experience for our date night. We don't live in LA but I hope we make it back!

Yelp
I unintentionally tried this Michelin star gastropub. My friend's gf invited a group out for a surprise bday party and I'm so glad I attended. We went around 7pm and lucky for us there weren't a lot of people there. The dining room is self seating so we were able to snag up a table for 10 no problem. There was no rush ordering food or drinks. There are only bussers and bartenders so when you're ready for drinks, food, and water you'll have to go to the bar and place your order there. Staff here are very friendly, nice, and inviting! Ambiance was definitely casual and chill but could also feel very romantic with the dim lights at night and the open windows during the day. The food was absolutely amazing. They have a no altering menu policy so if you're someone that is a picky eater, or perhaps someone who unfortunately has food allergies you might want to plan ahead before trying to get into it with the staff (they don't make the rules). However if you're like me (a human garbage disposal), then dive in and enjoy. I tried the office burger medium rare. It was filled with arugula and blue cheese. Super juicy and tender, and the bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There might've been other ingredients but it was so good I didn't put the burger down or have the time to dissect it to see what I was eating. The salt and vinegar tater tot's: who would've that of that combo? It was surpassingly good. Crispy and piping hot, Salty, sour, and creamy with the ranch. It all came together PERFECTLY. My only regret was not eating more things off the menu. I will definitely be bringing friends and family here in the future. Note: parking is super hard to come by. I got lucky with an empty spot in a parking lot across the street. They have valet and structures but everything seems to be full so plan ahead or you'll be circling the block a few times.

Yelp
Exceptional food and drinks await at this Arts District gem. With an extensive selection of wine, beer, and cocktails, there's something for every palate. The service is fast, making it easy to order and perfect for a casual hangout with friends. A must-visit spot for a delightful culinary experience in the heart of the Arts District!

Yelp
Finally trying Father's Office in DTLA. I love aged beef so I had to try The Office Burger... Parking on the street is like winning the lottery so best to use the parking structure, $10 for 2 hours. Got the Deviled Eggs, Berbere Spiced Cauliflower, Roasted Bone Marrow, Frites in a Basket and The Office Burger. For the price, we didn't get a lot of marrow. We still had one piece of toast left with nothing to put on it. The Deviled Eggs were good. Had a nice, spicy kick to it. The cauliflower was very tasty and the Berbere spice reminded me of masala. Now onto The Office Burger. You can't make any modifications on it, but I thought the caramelized onions were a little too overpowering and took away from the dry aged flavor. Once I removed them both, the dry aged flavor came through and it was lovely. For the price without any drinks, it was tough; especially when you had to walk up to the bar, wait and then place your order. After which, someone brought it to your table. Then very little follow up and didn't even ask to refill our water. If there was a downside to Father's Office, it would be that. Luckily the people before us didn't order a lot of drinks. I could only imagine having to wait and wait until the bartender, who is also taking your order, finishes making a large round of drinks before getting to you. Ambiance 8/10 - Good music selection from the 70's and 80's Service 5/10 Bathrooms 9/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Food 8/10 Value 7/10 Will I Return? Possibly

Yelp
We had been waiting to try Father's Office for a while now, but something always came up. Having heard that it served Michelin star Burgers, and top burgers in the country in 2023, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Office Burger, artichoke, deviled eggs, fat shrimp, and the beet salad. So to start, you can not substitute or delete anything in the menu. One of the members in our group was lactose intolerant, and wanted to exclude cheese. The answer was no, choose something else on the menu, like chicken sandwich does not have cheese. We have experienced more than our share of Michelin star fine dining establishments, and when it comes to allergies and intolerance, all will make exceptions. We came here to try the burger not fried chicken sandwich. The burger was not bad, but not the best we have had, it was a cross between short rib and burger 7-8/10. The star was the deviled eggs 9/10. The rest were average 5-6/10. The bartenders were wonderful, but it's not service at your table establishment. You order at the bar, and staff bring it to your table. Service 5/10. There was a lot of hype that it's a very busy place, and the ambiance is nice. The place is like any other gastropub with a long bar. Not sure if downtown location differs than the others, but 7:00 pm on a Saturday and the place was empty. So... would I go back? If I'm around the corner, probably, since my expectations have greatly diminished. Would it be a destination eatery to go to... probably not, I can think of a handful of places on top of my head with a better burger and overall experience.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place on a Friday evening because from what i can tell, food looked good. However, it was not all that I expected it to be. First of all when you go in, you pick your own seat and then order at the bar. Maybe it was that way because it wasn't so busy, but i am not sure how this method of ordering works when it is busy. Bartenders were nice and courteous. Food was way expensive for what was served. Their burger was $21 (no side included). I thought it was gonna be the best burger given its price point. Mind you, this isn't a fancy Michelin star restaurant.. Burger was okay, it was just a patty that had cheese slapped on top between sandwich bread and wayyyyyyyy to much Arugula. In fact so much of them that i felt like a goat eating some nice grass.... They do have good variety selection of beers. I would not dine here but drink a few beer would be fine.

Yelp
I've been to Father's Office like over 5 years ago but wow the taste hasn't changed. It's still really good. I ordered the office burger and sweet potato fries. The office burger was juicy and very tasty. The burger is a normal size burger but very filling. I ended up only eating half and taking the other half home because I was so full. The sweet potato fries were amazing. They were served warm and crunchy. The sauce that came with the fries were also delicious. I would definitely order this again next time I come. I took off one star because service was okay but it could be much better. The server was not attentive and I was asking the same things over and over again. There was also a time where they just ignored me while I was talking to them. The restaurant is very big and spacious. The bar looked pretty chill too. This is a perfect space to have birthday parties or catch up with friends. I highly recommend!!

Yelp
I decided to give Father's Office another try after my last less-than-positive experience. The place was like a graveyard on a Sunday night ― a regular graveyard, mind you, not one of those L.A. graveyards people seem to think are for movie screenings or raves or just general drunken shenanigans. The deafeningly loud music seemed even more inappropriate with a whopping half-dozen people there. I did not really care for the brown ale I'd ordered; not the bar's fault. I'd even tasted it first. But the seasonal bratwurst dish... ugh. One smallish brat with a scoop of red cabbage, under a little pile of crispy shoestring potato garnish. Silly me: I expected this would be a side of the fries. The way it was served, huddling on one side of a large plate that was two-thirds empty, put a pin on the dish's smallness, especially at $16. For what was, without doubt, a sausage bought from a supplier. It was like a bad joke. I hope I'll have enough sense to stay away from any more of Father's Office's culinary pranks in the future.

Yelp
Some of the best food in the arts district hands down. We've eaten here about 6 times or more, and each time it gets better and better. Tonight we had the steak and fries, which is mind blowing delicious, salty, perfectly cooked, tender, and fries are so good. Also had the cauliflower, so fresh tasting with a yogurt dressing, super light and refreshing. The ribs, which we've also had numerous times, never fails to delight. Not sweet, but super deep flavors, dark, mysterious, and hits you in your deep dark soul. Washed this meal down with an ale recommended by the bartender, and a dry martini. We left full, delighted, walked back home to our loft. This place puts most restaurants to shame.

Yelp
Upper scale casual spot that offers a wide selection of drinks. If you've already been to other locations of Father's Office, then you know the food and drinks are worth the visit. This Father's Office is located on Second Street in the Art's District in downtown Los Angeles. The burger, one of the best you'll likely try, is simple, juicy and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the entrees do not come with sides (fries or otherwise) but I recommend getting the salt and vinegar tater tots, which offers a delicious contrast to the burger. The chicken sandwich was equally delicious, crunchy, moist, and more delicious after each bite. Parking, however, can be an issue if you're trying to avoid paying for parking. There is very limited street parking. If paying for parking is not an issue, there is a lot right next to Father's Office that you can enter from 2nd Street. Parking fee for the adjacent lot, as of December 2022, is $8 per hour. If you're looking for a casual hang out spot in the Art's District (or just want a good burger), I recommend stopping by.

Yelp
Father's Office in DTLA is another nice date spot for some higher-end burgers. The chill atmosphere, combined with their delicious burgers and great beer selection, makes it a perfect place for a relaxed and tasty meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Writing my review again because Yelp deleted it. Does Father's Office allow doggos? No. They're very strict about it. Even if they have an outdoor patio and Garey is a dog-friendly building. We were turned away a few times. They'll suggest that you tie your dogs outside. Absolutely not. We ordered takeout from this location due to their policy against dogs. Burger is good as always but their chicken sandwich was lacking. The fries and tater tots are good. We were able to enjoy it with ketchup since it was takeout. I would skip the curry cauliflower. Father's Office is extremely rigid about their policy of no substitution and no ketchup, so beware if you have any food allergies. I really hope management will turnaround and allow dogs in their outdoor patio. Difficult to understand why they have such rigid and inconvenient policies. Arts District is one of the most dog friendly neighborhoods. I'll also add that we were once turned away because our friend had a newborn baby with her. They said 21+ only. We were never turned away from restaurants that serve alcohol or bars because of a newborn baby in stroller or car seat. I find that most places are accommodating and flexible. Again, very rigid on Father's Office's part. Overall, burger is good but Father's Office is not an accommodating and friendly establishment.

Yelp
Cool burger and brew joint in/near art district with lots a space for large parties and outdoor seating as well. Parking can be tricky depending on the time and day you come, so if you can't find street parking they have a garage that is 2hr/ $8 with validations from Father's Office, max $16. Not the cheapest but it's right next door. When we went we ordered at the bar and seated ourselves. The beer selection is good, they have many IPAs. For food, we got the tater tots and burger to share. The tots are salt and vinegar flavored, which were really good if you enjoy that. Burger was also really tasty, although they really upped the price on it. Nice, chill place to dine and chat, and just a short walk away from nearby breweries as well.

Yelp
The burger ....as a rule I'm not a burger eater but WOW!!!!! I highly recommend it. I do wish there were servers when I went, I didn't care for ordering at the bar and having to leave my group every time I wanted something more, like another cocktail. However, I will be back.

Yelp
Great place with a distinct gastropub vibe. Diner be warned: absolutely no substitutions or modifications to any menu item. I docked a star for the culinary inflexibility. Verily, stay true to your vision; but in a multicultural megalopolis, surely I'm not the only patron who wants to give you their money but have dietary restrictions. Moving on, the chicken sandwich was excellent and the mountain of perfectly crisp fries was glorious. But again, don't get hung up on the fact they don't serve ketchup (ok guy, we get it, but I'm paying). Service was surprisingly quick, which makes me wonder if things are made to order or batched, hence the no substitution modification alteration or transmogrification.

Yelp
Good choice of beer, okay food, nice darker ambiance to go for a date you want to be more causal or with friends after work they had pliny the elder when we went in 2021, love it when bars have it in stock! Got food but nothing was memorable Wish parking was easier in arts district, have to circle a few times to find parking

Yelp
The Office Burger was superb and filling! Loved all the arugula, the aged meat, caramelized bacon compote, the sauce, and the Gruyère cheese. It was perfect for a long day out! Brussels sprouts were also great and tasty!!! Industrial location with smooth architecture design! Service was great at the bar!

Yelp
They constantly close early, and they tell you to check their hours when you call, but their hours ALWAYS say they are open even when they close early??? And then they blame YOU every time, even if THEY DIDN'T UPDATE THE HOURS LIKE THEY CLAIM TO. This place is also suspiciously empty all the time despite the busy location and alleged Michelin star. They also keep their takeout orders open even if they aren't gonna make the food for you, based on my experience tonight. And they tell you it's closed when you go to pick it up even though there are still people clearly sitting in the restaurant and you placed the order an HOUR before. And then they tell you to request a refund through chow now, but you have to have ordered through the app itself to do that and we did not download the whole app to do that we just did it on the website as a guest. So then we say we will come in and speak to a manger in the morning to get a refund and then they inform us they are gonna be closed Monday through Wednesday??? Is this place some kind of scheme or front for something else?? How else to do they make money? cause i cant imagine its just through the food since they are BARELY open and NEVER busy. And I cant figure out why else they wouldn't care about being so inconsistent with the customer experience, and be so careless about CHARGING PEOPLE FOR FOOD THEY ARENT GOING TO MAKE THEM AND THEN JUST LETTING THEM HAVE TO FLOUNDER FOR THEIR MONEY BACK?!?? and why they are so empty all the time despite their food quality being allegedly good???? Also by the way when we got there we were completely ignored for a LONG LONG TIME, even though they definitely saw us from inside right away, and we tried ringing the delivery window too, until someone finally came to the door when they saw me try to call the restaurant. And then the dude working there just KEPT saying we have to request a refund through the app and could not seem to get it through his head that WE DONT HAVE NO GODDAMN APP TO REQUEST A REFUND THROUGH. I did have a couple decent experiences eating at this place in person a while before this cause their food is okay but now im totally done with this place. If its not a front for something else or some kind of other scheme, then the only other explanation is that its just EXTREMELY poorly managed.

Yelp
Went for Saturday dinner. Small patio outside. You order at the bar and keep your tab open. A lot of beer options. I'm not a beer person so I got a Hemingway. It was a bit too smoky for me. But the duck salad was really good!! The duck was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The dressing was tangy and sweet.

Yelp
This place was just average. I ordered the office burger. The Arugula was too overpowering and you couldn't taste the burger. There was something odd about the flavor. Service was terrible as well. You had to order at the bar, then they expect a tip. I thought tips were for gratuities

Yelp
I've had Father's Office once before at their Culver City location years ago. Their burger tastes great, it's just how I remembered it. The fries are thin and great with the dipping sauce. They don't serve ketchup but I didn't miss it either with what they provided. Surprisingly, not busy on a Saturday night with lots of spare tables. Plenty of seating. No complaints

Yelp
Service was meh, not super friendly. The place itself is a bar so lighting was pretty dark, dark enough where we could tell how our burger was cooked without a flash light. It was the most expensive burger of the 5 burger places we went to on 12/21. They put way too much argula on the burger, it looked like a salad at first. It was really a ridiculous amount of arugula, but once I took off half the argula I could appreciate the burger way more. The onion jam they put on the burger was too die for. I now wish I could have that onion jam on everything now. I asked for a medium rare burger and it look a little more rare then I expected but I still ate it. It was a pretty good burger over all, and i took home half the burger and my sister who shared my leftovers with said it was her favorite of the 5 burgers.

Yelp
I like coming here to start off a night in the Arts District, they seem to close pretty early. I like the ambiance, it's comfortable and spacious with low lighting. I know there's been some hype around their office burger, but I personally didn't like it. I'm a big fan of their salt and vinegar tater tots and their cauliflower was appetizer was good too. As stated on their menu, they don't make ANY changes or substitutions on their items. My partner is vegan and some things on the menu could be made vegan by just omitting an item. So that's a bummer! I've had some great beers here and I've also been served some flat beers. Service has always been quick and friendly.

Yelp
Father's Office is the perfect location for date night. My husband's 2nd favorite pastor of all time recommended this restaurant to him and we've been going ever since. The office burger is always a hit and I really love that you aren't allowed to modify it. I feel like when you end up trying to cater to everyone's unique preferences you end up losing your original vision of what you intended to make so I love that it's set in stone. My husband mentioned that the owner absolutely abhors ketchup which I thought was intriguing. No ketchup can be found at this restaurant - apparently you can't even dare to ask for it. The Spanish mushrooms are sometimes a hit or miss but tonight was a hit! Seasoned to perfection with just the perfect amount of salt to strengthen the dish. The fries are super skinny fries so just a heads up! I also ordered a nonalcoholic hazy IPA and it complemented the meal so well.

Yelp
I don't come here as often as I did pre-covid, but this is the definite go to spot for craft beers and very good food. My favorite is now the prime hangars steak aince they no longer make the smoked eel. Best of all is you don't have to wait in line for the annual release of Pliny the Younger! Bartenders and staff are very friendly and heloful.

Yelp
There burgers are amazing! Hands down one of the best. Whenever I go in I am never disappointed. The vibe is nice , food is good and drinks are even better.

Yelp
I ordered the burger and sweet potato fries online for pickup and they were delicious! The food was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. The portions sizes were big for both the fries and burger. The burger itself was so flavorful. The fries came with a blue cheese dip which i really liked!

Yelp
Father's Office is quite chic. I was meeting some friends while in LA, and my Lyft driver overshot this place because the outside is so dark... you can easily miss it. But once you go in, it's chill vibes throughout. I imagine this place being my go-to if I ever had to close a deal or have a nice night of conversation because while this place looks like it can be poppin' the noise level seems controlled. All ordering is done at the bar, and you find your own seating. I ordered the deviled eggs and the burger, while my friends ordered the mushrooms and tots among other things. Everything we had was great, but let me tell you about the burger: It's the best burger I've ever had in SoCal. The richness of the beef? Unparalleled. I hate arugula, but it works here. The softness of the bread absorbed the fat and juices well and it was just gushing with flavor with every bite. I ordered this expecting it to not be worth the hype, but it is. I'll be back. COVID Note: Must have a negative test or proof of vaccination. Masks are still expected to be on when you aren't dining.

Yelp
Oh Father's Office, why has it been so long since last we've met? Thank you for opening a location in the Arts District of DTLA. Parking on the street is painful, but worth the trouble. So, is FO the best burger in LA? I guess the debate probably rages on. In my opinion, it is one of the best. You order at the bar, you find a table, then they'll bring everything to you. The Office Burger is something special. The caramelized onions are dark and just sweet enough. The leafy arugula has a nice hint of spiciness. There are two cheeses: sharp notes of blue cheese and creamy nutty gruyere. The dry-aged beef must be cooked medium rare, of course. Red, juicy, supple, yet structurally stable. There's a little bacon, and the burger is just so buttery. The burger is held together by a garlic butter toasted small baguette. The FO policy is no substitutions and ketchup is nowhere to be found. But really, why would you mess with, dare I say it, perfection? The Berbere Spiced Cauliflower or the Spicy Shrimp and Grits or Frites in a "Basket" all make excellent sides. Wash this all down with an Allagash White, or the brilliantly curated beer menu, with so many fine choices that you could just get lost in.

Yelp
FO is a great spot to meet friends and have a couple of beers. The burger was fantastic (no changes allowed). Loved the caramelized onions and the arugula, the patty was juicy and everything went well together. The sides were good too. I wish the order of hash browns were bigger lol but overall, everything was pretty good. Great beer selection and a fantastic burger, what else can you ask for?

Yelp
I am Disgusted by the way that this establishment will not accommodate Food allergies. The hostess was rude and said there are no modifications to anything. I have question, the burger must be cooked on the grill right? So hard is it to take it off and put it on a bun? I think it's horrible.
