Yelp
By pure luck we found this shop. The name caught our attention and after a little curious looking we found ourselves walking right in!
Size is not everything. Fatted calf's counter has all a meat lover could want and more. There is beef, local lamb, poultry, pates, salumi, fresh sausage, pasture raised heritage pork, and heaps more! Interior interesting as the meats they have on display.
Take a moment to see what their website has to tell you https://www.fattedcalf.com/index.php. From their background and love for what they do. There are two locations with a link to the menu for each one. There are weekend specials and daily lunch offerings that rotate. They even have classes. How unique! To teach others how to butcher a lamb/pig, sausage making, and curing meats.
We were encouraged to try the picnic plate ($15.00) that has bread, cheese, pickled vegetables, and a selection of charcuterie. Ordinary to the eye, but the textures and flavors were all there. So much so, we went back to bring their quality product back home with us.
You can gather all the accompaniments for a charcuterie board right there. If you rather, pre-order ahead for a charcuterie board to be made for your next special gathering. They give you portions of what you desire and individually wrap each product. Patient as they are, samples are allowed before making a commitment! We ended up getting the berkshire salami, lonza, prosciutto, and pate maison. When you visit, try the pate maison. As with it all, it is especially delicious!
I will be frequenting this place more often when I want to make charcuterie boards!
