Fatty’s Café Review - Astoria - New York - The Infatuation

"Fatty’s is a Latin American place, and it’s decorated like a place you’d find near the beach. It’s the sort of neighborhood spot where you can hang out at a table and have some tiki drinks with friends while you figure out what you’re doing with your weekend, and we especially like it for brunch. You can come on a weekend morning and get some huevos rancheros, a cuban sandwich, and a dish called “Dominican Sunrise” that involves tostones, fried cheese, and a type of sausage called salchichón." - Bryan Kim

Had the best experience here. The place is cool well thought out and has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food is honestly some of the best food I've ever had and the Cocktails were so good they were basically being chugged. Easily the best nachos I've ever had. And the Tingas were awesome. I look forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu. If you're looking for just great tasting food this is by far my pick.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday and we were seated as soon all 3 of us were there at around 1:15 pm. The place is a bit of a walk from the nearest subway stop and is quite away from the other Astoria restaurants. This place however is quite good and both, food and service stand out. Service was quick and hostess is very friendly. They however have a very strict rule of not seating you until your entire party is there, even when the restaurant wasn't that busy. Brunch orders come with a cocktail and I got the Brunch Burger and others on our table ordered the Paleo Brunch. All brunch items are $17. For cocktail, I got the orange mimosa and others got Bloody Mary. The cocktails weren't that great at all and we couldn't even finish our bloody mary. Food on the other hand was quite good and I thoroughly enjoyed my Brunch burger! Will definitely recommend this place for a lazy Saturday brunch. They also have good beers on tap!

Awesome and cozy spot in Astoria. Owners Sue and Fernando are genuine people and have created a stunning menu and great vibe in their island inspired restaurant. Great food, and great cocktail menu as well. They do a great brunch, and the dinner menu is super tasty too. Highly recommend!

Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The owners are some of the kindest and caring people I have ever met and always go out of their way to make you feel like you are at home when you visit. The food is delicious and the cocktails are always on point. If you are ever looking for a new place to check out I promise you won't be disappointed here.

The food and the service here is excellent! You walk in and you feel like family. The ambiance and decor in here is awesome and goes perfectly with the food. There is also a patio to eat on in the back when the weather is nice outside. I love Fatty's for their brunch! I'm a vegetarian and I love their mofongo stuffed with queso cheese and it comes with a side of salad. I haven't tasted nothing like this anywhere! Also a complimentary beverage comes with any brunch option that you order. If you're ever in Astoria this is the place you want to brunch at!

This place is, hands down, one of my favorite hangouts in Astoria. The food is fresh and delicious and the options can range from super clean and healthy (300 Meal) to totally decadent (Grilled Cheese of the Day and Chocolate Tres Leches Cake)... so whatever mood I am in, I know I will find something there to satisfy me. The bar has fun cocktail selections and a nice rotating beer & wine menu. The atmosphere is warm, artistic and comfortable. (The owners often say "Welcome Home" and mean it. They also have a different art display, supporting many fine artists by turning the walls into Gallery space) I've stopped in to have a quick drink with friends, a Sunday brunch with my boyfriend and have thrown larger dinner parties for special occasions and every time they handle the situation perfectly. That great balance of feeling well cared for and yet totally unpressured. It is an understatement to say that the staff are friendly, cool and professional. I always have a great time at Fatty's.

It's home away from home if your Dominican. Love the Americanized twist on all the great menu options. My husband & I have been going there for years. Highly recommend this place for a different taste of foods than your normal.
