Vegan Dining in Paris: How Restaurateur Alice Tuyet Is Transforming French Cuisine

"Tucked in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, this lively vegan bistro feels more like a fête than a weekday lunch: hand-selected vegetables sit artfully with condiments and sauces, conversations ripple across tables and everyone — omnivore or otherwise — feels welcome. Owner Alice Tuyet set out to create a warm, celebratory atmosphere where people can unplug, have fun and rediscover pleasure through plant-based cooking; when she opened Faubourg Daimant in 2022 her aim was not to convert diners but to celebrate the sensuality of French cuisine through a new lens. The restaurant’s signature croquettes cochonnes — crispy, creamy and unapologetically indulgent — embody that philosophy that vegan food can be bold, silky and utterly irresistible. Recognition from The MICHELIN Guide shortly before her father’s passing felt deeply symbolic, and the menu’s playful, precise and undeniably French approach (even the reinvented no-butter butter, emulsified high-quality vegetable oils smoked with beech wood) proves that plant-based cuisine can be as decadent and joyful as any feast." - Marie-Noëlle Bauer

Incredible fully veggy gastronomy ! I was highly recommended to go there and I was not disappointed. Ambiance : the place is very well decorated that serves the story told with the food. Love the bathroom with the massive selection of soaps. Service : super well served, the waitress was super friendly and helped us get the dishes. Food : super delicious. It’s not the boring salad or portobello burger most of the restaurant put in the menu. It’s very well thought through. And it tastes delicious. I LOVED the cauliflower and the cabbage. Bonus point for the algae caviar. Impressive. Loved the taste. Price : for the type of food we got, I think it was fair. Around 45€ per person included the wine (table of 5). Will 100% come back.

Excellent restaurant plant based or not, it's top notch. My partner and I went for a special date night while in Paris. Seems like it's more suited for intimate gatherings of four or less. The caviar was so amazing, I don't know how they do it?! The potato dish (similar to scalloped potatoes) was my favourite. The cocktail I had was so well balanced. They also have a great wine list. Cool atmosphere! An all round great experience.

We were excited to try this place for the New Year’s Eve dinner but left rather underwhelmed. The place is beautifully designed. All the decor and plating was really nice. The menu came in a cute envelope with heart sticker on, which was the nice touch. The menu sounded interesting and delicious. We were very excited to dig in, especially since the plating was so nice. A few dishes stood out like raddish carpaccio and croquettes but most lacked flavour. Especially the cabbage dish was way too bitter and it was difficult to eat it. Pasta dish came with way too much sauce and only 3 pieces of pasta. For the dessert we liked the Pavlova but the other two were extremely sweet. The biggest let down was the service throughout the whole night. From the start they were delayed and we had to wait in cold outside (0 degrees) for some time before the tables were ready for the second round of service. Once sat down, we were barely offered a chance to order a drink nor did anyone check on the table throughout the whole night. Towards midnight the staff disappeared and no one cleaned our table for extremely longtime to the point when they brought desserts it was still not cleaned. Overall, we felt let down but the experience in this place and probably won’t come back.

Ordered several dishes and I am very happy with the food. The stuffed cabbage was so delicious and the espresso dipped brioche was magical. I personally did not like the pasta dish we ordered and I felt that in comparison, it was not even close to the same high level as the other dishes. The service was good and the venue was cozy. Overall I am happy and can definitely imagine going there again.

Delicious! One of the best meals in the city with great ambiance as well. Every dish was delicious and the sharing concept was very fun too. I am planning to return and try out the rest of the dishes soon. It was That good! The non-alcoholic selection was also impressive and the staff was friendly and was able to help us out in English.

Probably the best vegan address at the moment in Paris. Friendly staff, nice setting (very clean wich is always something i check as first). Kitchen side, the Chef has a very good hand, respectful of the ingredients and able to combine them with a vibrant contemporary touch. The Pavlova and pear dessert we tried was a showcase of tecnique, balanced and not to sweet (wich is not that easy to achieve on a merengue base recipie). 2 suggestion to improve even further: the sauce with the appetizer croquette is good, but a bit overwhelming...it almost kills entirely the flavour of the croquette (wich was great). For the cacio&pepe, add more "fake pecorino". I would have gladly payed a couple more euros for a richier dish (since that not-cheese i believe is costly in terms of ingredients to make it). The dish was ok but with more creaminess it would have been Wow. Overall, a great experience and an address i've noted on my to do restaurant for my next trip in Paris. Well done!

An amazing place to experience classic French cuisine without a bad conscience: everything is plant-based, creative and extremely tasteful. Especially the sauces are incredible. Impeccable service, we will 100% come again. Bravo!

The place is nice and cozy. It can be a good place for date. The service was not very attentive. We had the lunch menu. It generally has 3 options for main dish. But today only 2 options were available - the breaded aubergine and some salad. The breaded aubergine was good. However the accompanying pasta was quite simple and did not have any taste. It lacked a bit of salt I feel. They gave some kind of pesto along with the dish to dip the fried breaded aubergine. However this was tasteless. I thought it was made of basilicum but it did not have any taste. I like that they are serving french food in plant based form. I am all for it. However, for the prices they charge, the food should have more taste. The gazpacho as starter was good.
