"Felipe’s is one of those spots where you walk through a line and tell someone on the other side of the sneeze guard whether you want extra guacamole in your burrito. But please do not confuse this place with a Chipotle. For one thing, the burritos at Chipotle aren’t nearly as good (get the chimichanga with creamy queso on top). But more importantly, Chipotle doesn’t have really strong margaritas and a roof deck strung with string lights. This place gets really crowded, but the lines move quickly and it’s worth it." - Dan Secatore

My son and I have had nice eating experiences at this Felipe's restaurant. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you have a full-sized vehicle. Their parking lot is tight, and the spaces small. If you have a full-sized vehicle you may want to park on the street. You stand in line to order and then pick up your order & pay at the cash register. I have tried a few different main course items but always come back to my favorite, the spicy chicken tinga Super Burrito. You can watch them make your choice and they have multiple options for cheese & veggie addition options. They are filling and they are good. Soft drinks & tea are a bit pricy at $3 per. Refills are included. They have several options for eating locations, both inside & outside. Enjoy!

Google
Everything was great except that I didn’t get what I ordered. I added steak ($4) to a $6 kids meal quesadilla but there was no steak to be found. Usually not a big deal, but when I pay almost as much for the meat to be added as the meal itself, I expect it to be correct. Everything else was correct and delicious. Just this one incident. Update: owner reached out and everything settled. Wonderful staff and service. Now 5/5 stars.

Google
Jorge and his team are phenomenal. They even took the brief moment of me picking up my food to wish me a Happy Birthday. Treating me like person and not just another order goes a long way in my book. Also…the food is consistently fantastic. Keep up the amazing work y’all!

Google
Was so wanting some street tacos and did not realize that in my French Quarter Neighborhood there was such an amazing Taqueria!!! First, thank you Zach for the great service and recommending the Happy Hour margaritas, which were just *$&@#$ amazing!! Special thanks to all the chefs and cooks for making the most amazing street tacos and the guacamole and salsa were both superb and also it is obvious the drinks and food are made fresh and the taste is proof! Will be back for more goodness soon!!

Google
A good and nice room, clean. Good service, very friendly. The menu is good, but there are things that can be improved. The beans are poorly cooked, hard, flavorless. Rice is something similar... From 0 to 10, a rating of 7.

Google
Mr. B is the best. we came in with a large indecisive group and he got us all taken care of quickly, and with a great attitude. food was amazing. love this location.

Google
Felipe's is one of the most consistent dine-in spots that you would ever visit. Food is always excellent with consistent flavor at every location. The staff at the particular location are pretty awesome. I have eaten here several times, but the parking is pretty competitive with all of the other businesses surrounding. I always recommend Felipe's and share my same dish, nachos, on social media. A must visit.

Google
Restaurant lighting could be a little dimmer so less of a cafeteria vibe. It seems like there was A lot less steak on my super burrito this time. Overkill on the Baja sauce. Suggestion: have a comments area for each item for special requests like “just a little bit..”

Yelp
My favorite location for sure. The bartenders know what they're doing, and the food is always fresh. This location is also family friendly with an outdoor seating area with faux grass and shaded tables. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve. Check it out if you haven't already.

Katerina E.

Yelp
First of all, can we get some snaps for Mr. B?!!?! I know thats right!! Mr B makes it all worth it. I would travel miles and miles to see that smile. Got a marg and even a second one, don't tell the wife!!! Hehehehehe. Love u Mr B.

Lori C.

Yelp
Victoria is amazing. She holds the bar down on the busiest nights!!! Great humor, efficient, and steadfast. I'll come back just to watch her. Truth!!!

Jordan M.

Yelp
I've been going to this location for years. The staff is so friendly and of course the food it great!

Tomas R.

Yelp
I'm a Felipe's junkie tbh. I've been here after work events, for HH, and have even uber eats a few meals from here for various reasons. It's consistent and always has me feeling happy. Their frozen mango margaritas are LIFE. They make all of their own purees fresh in-house and you can totally taste the difference. I love how easy it is to order and they make everything right in front of you. Take advantage of their mini quesadillas and add some chorizo to it. It's a solid spot of mine and one that I frequent quite often. (Hello queso with chorizo!)

Yelp
Upon checking out, the manager( Hispanic male ) made a rude/odd comment to me. I noticed all the staff making eye contact & one of the workers started to laugh looking at the manager. The manager said "I have a question and it may be inappropriate" I said "what?" with a curious face. He then asked " Are you pregnant?" I replied yes. He laughed & said " Oh because the way your stomach look if you wasn't pregnant you may have a gastric stomach disease." I awkwardly chuckled & said no I'm definitely pregnant with twins before walking away. One of the workers laughed and said " this man always saying something." I felt like he was trying to be the funny guy on shift. I was just thinking how weird that interaction was. I think the comment was very unnecessary & Strange. Why bring attention to me? I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. All pregnant woman rub their stomach. Why are you making a comment on a woman's body ? So let's just say I'm not pregnant & I have a large stomach. Would he make the comment "the way your stomach look your either pregnant or have a stomach disease" it's distasteful. You don't know me. I Didn't ask for Medical advice. Your job is to load up my burrito & check me out. I'll definitely think twice before coming to this location again. The only lady who worked back there didn't find it funny & she did not engage as the male staff did. Which I appreciated that. Let me just say it was highly inappropriate. I just wondered if I was an older woman or a different race if he would have made a comment like that to me. This happened 1/6/2023 at night. Update: the owner reached out & said when he read my review initially he thought the comment was meant to be received one way & it was not. I told him I didn't see anyway a comment like that could be received positively. The owner apologized for his staff & mentioned a conversation was had. He also mentioned the staff said gender & race had nothing to do with it. I begged to differ & mentioned he never acknowledged "age" didn't play apart. He also stated he will work with the staff on sensitively. I stand by the fact if an older woman was in my shoes a comment like that would not have been made. No one should be speaking on customers at all.

Yelp
Felipe's is really close to my job, so this has been my happy hour place since 2017. What I enjoy is the quick service, and Felipe's has great margaritas. I usually get a vegetarian nachos or a vegetarian burrito to go with my margarita. I love chilling with my friends on the back patio have a long day at work. Since the lockdown, this has been the place where I've gotten my Mexican food fix. My other favorite has a limited menu, but Felipe's has been operating with a full menu with takeout and delivery. In addition, the customer service is still awesome.

David J.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff. Even has a cool bar. Burritos and Nachos were SO GOOD!

La L.

Yelp
DINER BEWARE. 2 stars for this location because while the food was good, the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and OVERCHARGE ON MY BILL provided by MELODY W was not. That is the name of the employee listed on my receipt. I had called ahead and placed an order for several items, and Melody W gave major attitude over having to take a phone order right from the start, which was weird because food orders is literally a service Felipe's offers, and I am certain it is in her job description. I have worked in high-volume customer service oriented fields for many years (including the restaurant biz and phone-based), so I know how to order food, be sweet, patient, and not annoy the staff, especially when they seem busy and stressed. But I also know when people are mistreating customers and being rude because they don't want to do their job. Maybe it was super busy and hectic for the restaurant that day? She asked me what I wanted, then would cut me off before I was finished naming the dish. After, I gave her my card number and then she just hung up on me. Cool. Despite this, I just let it go and was still really nice to whomever handed me my order once I arrived to pick it up, and tipped them well. The restaurant appeared to be pretty slow at that time, for the record, so maybe Melody W was having a bad day. I mean, people have bad days all the time, right? Once I was able to look at the receipt later, I noticed that Melody W had added an extra "Felipe's Special" of $9.25 onto my bill---which I did not order and am not happy about. Is this a habit? What she did with that money? So that is another big reason to EAT ELSEWHERE. Take away: If Melody W does not want to take food orders, she should not be working customer service in a restaurant, and management should monitor each her bills in front of the customers so people do not continue to be habitually overcharged--which can turn into a problem for the restaurant later on.

Viviana C.

Yelp
Mr B was an exceptional and generous server and made me and my party feel very invited! thank you. the tortilla soup is a must and if I may say add the extra El Pastor Meat!! gracias!

ForkFront F.

Yelp
Prices have gone up and portion size has gone done. Recently got the "Super" burrito and it was about the size of my hand. Barely filled. Hardly any meat was on it. They filled the meat about 3/4 of the length of the beans and cheese and when I asked if they could put a little extra meat just to get it even with the beans and cheese, they said it would be an extra charge. Taste is still good, but the price, portion, and attitude of the employees have all fallen off for me. I am a local who used to go here all the time, but I've steadily declined going here and may not go again. It's just not worth it any more.

Tiff D.

Yelp
Quality control seems to have gone down at this location. My last few visits the guacamole was not fresh. The staff seem less than enthused to be working. The portions are smaller. I didn't get a full spoon of meat, not good for the price I'm charged for the extra. Staff was not knowledgeable how to use the register. I had to correct items I was charged for incorrectly. I was asked if I wanted chips with my queso con carne order? Overall just not the same experience I'm used to. *after posting my review I forwarded my comments to management email that I noted at Checkout. First, I love that this information is clearly posted for customers to be able to communicate with management. It shows they care about your experience. Second and more important, is that they actually took action on my comments (and responded to my email immediately). Hopefully my next experience is better!

June E.

Yelp
food is deliciou! such a great location! Brian is awesome! love this place! The outdoor setting is so nice!!!

Ernesto N.

Yelp
The food is good, but the rations are shrinking and the prices are going up. The pandemic is over and the prices continue to go up.

Nikki E.

Yelp
My cheese quesadilla was average, but the many choices of pico de gallo & hot sauces to choose from added so much flavor. The dining room was big enough, but nothing special. It's a Chipotle design with you going to a counter and telling the staff what ingredients you want in your food.

Kaitlin G.

Yelp
My mother recently visited with y'all and got a taco salad that she did not believe was worth her money she left a review about and got the rudest response ever. I'll even post the messages so y'all can see his replies in my opinion it's very unprofessional and he shouldn't be allowed to respond to anyones review at all if this how he replying

Ackeda T.

Yelp
I've been giving Izzos all my money lately so when I received a email from Felipe's I decided to Go there for lunch. I always forget it's there. I ordered a taco salad. No rice or beans. With chicken. The lettuce was a soggy mess. I had about 6 small pieces of chicken. This was the smallest salad I've ever had. I was still hungry. My total Was 15.00 with a drink. I won't be back. I'll stick with Izzos and Chipotle.

Carl J.

Yelp
Growing up in New Orleans Mexican food was limited. Visiting for the weekend so tried this place with my nephews today and what a joke. Poor service and tasteless food that was not hot after serving from a steam table. The restaurant was dirty, maybe because of shift change. I've had great Mexican from all over the USA and Mexico and this was worst. The owner reached out to understand the issues and gave an invite to return so much appreciated. I'm not sure when, but I'll contact him in the future when I'm back in town. Great follow by Mr. Pike.

Connor G.

Yelp
13 dollars for a small bowl! the size of a bowl for cereal. Rude workers. Food is not that great to be honest.

Ellery D.

Yelp
Just had a really crappy experience here while trying to get dinner. I will never understand their prices. Ever. Why a dish is marked $7 on the menu when you will, in actuality, be asked to pay over $4 more is beyond me. I ordered a plato. It's meant to come with a protein and some side items like rice, beans, tortillas, etc. Well, I got some grilled veggies in place of the rice, yet was still charged extra. $11.68 to be exact. So I talk to the manager about the price. No, I didn't ask for her. She was brought over, and she insisted that this was an $11 plate, but that they would remake it for me as something cheaper. Well, I had already waited quite a while for them to prepare the first meal, during which time my friends had already gotten a table and started on theirs. Pretty sure the guy assembling plates was sleep deprived or stoned or something, because he moved in slow motion. I wasn't gonna wait around while they made me another smaller, sadder plate. It's not that I couldn't afford it. The way it was handled just struck me as unfair and I declined to pay; said I didn't want the food anymore. They'd totally put me off it. If veggies really do cost that much more, I should have been *told* that I was going off menu and what it was likely to cost.

Amber H.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and decided on the chicken flautas. I was a bit scared because I went around lunch time and I didn't order ahead but to my surprise the line moved smoothly and I was out in no time. The flautas are fried to perfection and then topped with sour cream and I got shredded cheese and pico on the side. I really enjoyed my lunch. I loved the outside seating area as well. It's so inviting!! 2 thumbs up from me!!

Chloe P.

Yelp
Felipe's has a special place in my heart. I go with my family at least monthly when we don't have groceries or just don't feel like cooking, and order super burritos every time. I always leave satisfied because they can fit a LOT into your burrito (helloooo big eaters!) and their salsa bar is great for adding extra flavor (although I would recommend getting the salsa squeezed onto your food while it's on the line for an even better taste level). The employees are efficient (line moves fast), and the customizability is great. On top of that, you can't beat the prices! They have a tendency to tweak them from time to time, but it's usually around $7 for a burrito. Delicious and cheap for a lunch or dinner. They do offer a military discount too!

Carl K.

Yelp
You ever want a good solid burrito that you just want to poop out the next morning with no regrets, This is the place. A good, simple burrito. That's all I want sometimes and this place gives it.

Claire R.

Yelp
I used to love Felipe's but my recent visit just missed the mark. I have lived out of town for a few years now so when I moved back I was looking forward to going to Felipe's. The portions were small, the food was cold and had no flavor. I was so disappointed. I don't know if I went on a bad day or if owners have changed, but I was so disappointed that I wasted my money here. I won't be returning soon. UPDATE!! I went to Felipe's today for lunch and I have to say, everything was delicious. The portions were larger, the service was better. Everything tasted delicious. I must have gone on a bad day, or my complaints were seriously addressed because it was just an overall better and improved experience. I will be back for lunch in the future!

Luke B.

Yelp
Me and my buddies came here after track practice and would go sit on the back patio and sit for hours. Ruben one of the servers always gets me right with my chimichanga.

Dara M.

Yelp
Me and my sis came in & got a chimichanga, and some nachos. Everything was good! the chicken tortilla soup was some of the best i have ever had!

Chris L.

Yelp
I like Felipe's a little pricey but normally good . However with that being said this chain was not my favorite Something didn't taste right I don't know if the meat was old all the toppings set up too long but something was off at this restaurant

Kate M.

Yelp
best place ever. 10/10 food was bomb. service was perfect. the outside seating so cute!

Ryan M.

Yelp
Good tacos. Bar is pretty diverse. Like the layout. Would eat here lots if I lived in the area. First time trying and enjoyed myself.

Patricia P.

Yelp
Great margaritas, food average. Got the plate of food (all veggies), nice selection, but was asked if I wanted cheese , I said yes but then saw on my bill $1.50 was added for the cheese. Was not told it was extra. Should've been made aware. UPDATE: was contacted by the owner who was quite apologetic for my experience and has asked us to return so they could make amends. I will be receiving a gift card for a free meal and if I let him know when we are returning, a tour of the kitchen! He has been extremely accommodating and wants to make up for our visit, which was our first. We will happily return ! Thank you, Pike. We look forward to meeting you.

Atara M.

Yelp
Our fave neighborhood Mexican joint. Everything is always good. The plato is my go to, but everyone else in my family gets giant burritos. Plus they have a rewards program which is actually a great deal. And no upcharge for guac!

Nycole B.

Yelp
We ordered (& had delivered) two steak burritos, churros, & queso. The burritos were mostly refried beans and extremely salty. The queso seems to be a beer queso which wasn't what we were expecting, but it arrived cold so it wasn't as great - I'm sure it's better hot. As for the churros they were super greasy and soggy. Overall pretty unimpressed with the food. Update - the owner has reached out and offered a refund of our meal (not taking for we did eat the food) and a gift card. Unfortunately we are just visiting and leave tomorrow, however, I appreciate a business who tries to make things right. I wish we could try them again - great customer service - maybe it was just an off night.

Whit R.

Yelp
Pictured below is the order we received today from Felipe's via Postmates. This was supposed to be 2 steak tacos, 3 Baja tacos, and a taco salad grand total with delivery fee $54.00. I first reached out to postmates then I contacted the manager at Felipe's. Jason was completely unacce for the food that was provided and repeatedly told me that they were not responsible for the food once it was picked up for delivery. He then proceeded to tell me that the driver must have messed with the food. In light of our current situation this comment from Jason was terrifying. He then told me that he could remake me order, that I would have to come get it and that I would have to pay full price!! Shame on y'all! District manager offered to mail a gift card to rectify my experience.

Aarti J.

Yelp
I love going here. Haven't been in so long but this is probably the best quick option for Mexican in Town. Much better than Either Izzos or Chipotle. My favorite thing to get is a plate with Rice, Black Beans, Grilled Chicken, and a lotta veggies and jalepenos. SO GOOD.

Uriia H.

Yelp
Consistency is the word of the day. This is always a good place to go for a quick bite and a good, cold drink. Their queso is pretty darn tasty. This location has a pretty small dining area so it's not the best spot for larger groups. I love the fried shrimp Baja tacos..always fresh and hot. 3 of them are more than enough to satisfy.

Chris B.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Felipe's. It's fast casual Mexican with a handful of options. I've never gotten anything except the carnitas burrito. Here's my recipe: with cheese (duh), carnitas, rice, black beans, guac, sour cream, red and green sauce. Sometimes I'll add the grilled veggies when I'm feeling randy. For me the foundation of the Felipe's burrito is the steamed shell and cheese. This lays the groundwork for some serious eats. I always try and tell the burrito artist to get me the juicy pork pieces. Usually, they have no idea what I'm talking about. I like a wet pork for the burrito so it doesn't get too dry. Service is quick and friendly. Rarely do I dine in but when I have, no trouble getting a table. I hate sitting in the back room. Totally different ambiance. Feels cut off from the action.

Lizbif D.

Yelp
It is in our neighborhood and we probably ate there at least once a month but prior to the pandemic that started falling off in quality, quantity and service. They took thinks like chorizo off their menu. They messed up orders and did not seem to care. We kept giving them more chances but today was the last. Even after a long wait in line it took almost a half hour to get our food even after we actually ordered. And we get home to find they still botched the order. There are too many great places on Freret and Tchoup to get Latin American food to ever go here again just because it is a bit closer. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

Will L.

Yelp
Best queso in town!!! Gotta love Felipes!! Super nice workers and burritos are exquisite!!

Ashley S.

Yelp
I love lové lové Felipe's but I had terrible experience on Sunday. The bartender with the bright pink hair was rude and had a nasty attitude. We ordered food and we about to get some Margs to go she gave us such a hard time and made us so uncomfortable we got up and left mid order. She wouldn't speak to us (not even a Hello) without looking at our IDs and then she scrutinized them like they were fake. We asked to try the frozen marg and I didn't care for it bc it was too strong and she retorted back that the frozen one wouldn't be any different and refused to give me what I asked for. It doesn't matter if it's a holiday weekend or not customer treatment should be same everyday.

John L. H.

Yelp
Felipe's is one of those places I have heard good things about, but never been able to try. I am either not in the area, or have plans somewhere else. Fortunately for me, a friend recommended we stop here before a show. Felipe's is a casual Mexican restaurant. Prices are extremely reasonable, and the food is very good. We sat at the bar so we could order from the bartender and have drinks while we waited. This seems to be the way to go. I had a super burrito with carnitas (slow cooked pork). The burrito was very large and only around five bucks. It was well worth it. It could have benefited from some hot sauce, but it was still very good. I tried some of my friend's queso and was very impressed. In fact, it would be a great accompaniment to any order. I am not a big fan of tequila or margaritas, but theirs was good. They also get extra points from me for having Negra Modello and for not serving it with a lime. Lime and beer are not compatible. If you have to have a lime with your beer you are either a pretty girl or shouldn't be drinking beer. I really liked Felipe's. I may have to go out of my way to come here more often.

Fabrizi O.

Yelp
How Felipe's built a small empire off of bulk-buy cheese, meat, chips and tortillas from Sam's Wholesale Club is, frankly, a mystery. This is literally fare you could slap together on the cheap at home. From what we can tell, nothing is made on-site. Just as there is nothing "Mexican" about the place, including the lackluster service staff (who look and act as though they'd rather be anywhere else) grunting at customers as they flail for words while ordering (none of the ingredients are marked). Far too much point-and-hope going on behind the glass. The bar is equally unremarkable, as is the outdoor seating area, where you'll be treated to an always-on TV playing (loud) sports and commercials. Music? Insipid, and emphatically non-Mexican. Please don't feed the huge mouse (or is it a rat?) who runs back and forth between the front door and the gutter, circling the outdoor tables hoping for scraps. He's getting increasingly bold; the moment you stand up, he's headed for your seat! It's gross. We don't see the owners there any more, and wonder if they sold (or just sold out), because at least the place used to be run a bit more ... er ... upscale than what you see today. Head to Juan's Flying Burrito for really good nachos and burritos, or Chipotle for bowls and salads at reasonable prices, each offering authentic sides like cheese sauce, chips (Felipe's are WAY too salty, since they were already salted in the big bag from Sam's!), and guacamole. The stuff sold here is just thick and gross, never fresh.

Ashley A.

Yelp
Had 3 tacos and the chips and dip sampler... unfortunately ended up not eating the chips because the queso dip tasted weirdly like bananas and made me think that it had gone rancid or something... tacos were okay though! Update** Pike (the owner) reached out and assured me the queso is made fresh daily and no one has said that before... maybe our taste buds were off. He was very helpful and offered to send a gift card to give them another try!

Cliff G.

Yelp
Amazing food and a great staff. One of my faves. Great to dine in or to go. Phase and Zamkea rock!!

Birdie C.

Yelp
Felipe's is an order at the counter/assembly line Mexican food restaurant. The food is fine and a decent price point but the ladies behind the counter are less than friendly. I can understand some Spanish and one employee in the back (not serving me) made fun of me and called me some choice derogatory words because I ordered one taco. I wasn't very hungry, there's no need to be so hateful. I would have just left but my friends had already ordered. And while I should have never gone back, I did recently. I didn't get harassed but the food line service was still unfriendly. *** Food * Service

Catie K.

Yelp
This is still my favorite Felipes mainly for the bar. It has a real local feel. All the regulars know each other. I come here for the bartenders: Victoria, Lexi, Lawrence, and Chef. They are chill but awesome. Love them!

Dennis C.

Yelp
I think my string of experiences may have been bad luck. I went back a couple more times after writing my reviews, and everything seemed to be back to normal. Pours were better, portions improved, and service was quicker. The manager reached out to me and genuinely seemed to want to improve my experience and understand my complaints. While I still am frustrated by the online orders seeming to get priority over in-store customers, the experience here hopefully should not be like those few disappointing experiences I had a few months ago.

Laurel B.

Yelp
I know it's a pandemic and I'm trying to hold back but after experiencing terrible customer service, being told they don't have specific product at 5:45 PM then coming home to find every item on my burrito was ice cold I( live less then 5 minutes away.) The staff has changed considerably, never considered them particular engaging but the service was quick and efficient. Tonight I had to interrupt a conversation between employees 3x to ask if she heard me. No thanks.

Yelp
Excellent service. The best Felipe's in NOLA. Midcity should take notes. Chef and Victoria are the best. Here again 9/4/19. Victoria and Lawrence are putting on a clinic. The owner should put the other Felipe's on notice...this is how you do it.
