DINER BEWARE. 2 stars for this location because while the food was good, the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and OVERCHARGE ON MY BILL provided by MELODY W was not. That is the name of the employee listed on my receipt.
I had called ahead and placed an order for several items, and Melody W gave major attitude over having to take a phone order right from the start, which was weird because food orders is literally a service Felipe's offers, and I am certain it is in her job description. I have worked in high-volume customer service oriented fields for many years (including the restaurant biz and phone-based), so I know how to order food, be sweet, patient, and not annoy the staff, especially when they seem busy and stressed. But I also know when people are mistreating customers and being rude because they don't want to do their job. Maybe it was super busy and hectic for the restaurant that day? She asked me what I wanted, then would cut me off before I was finished naming the dish. After, I gave her my card number and then she just hung up on me. Cool.
Despite this, I just let it go and was still really nice to whomever handed me my order once I arrived to pick it up, and tipped them well. The restaurant appeared to be pretty slow at that time, for the record, so maybe Melody W was having a bad day. I mean, people have bad days all the time, right? Once I was able to look at the receipt later, I noticed that Melody W had added an extra "Felipe's Special" of $9.25 onto my bill---which I did not order and am not happy about. Is this a habit? What she did with that money? So that is another big reason to EAT ELSEWHERE.
Take away: If Melody W does not want to take food orders, she should not be working customer service in a restaurant, and management should monitor each her bills in front of the customers so people do not continue to be habitually overcharged--which can turn into a problem for the restaurant later on.
