"If we told you Felipe’s is a Mexican spot with a massive rooftop in the heart of Harvard Square, you’d probably have a pretty accurate mental image of the scene. What you might not guess is that the frozen margaritas are excellent, and the baja tacos with crispy shrimp and tangy pickled cabbage taste like biting into all the summers that have ever been and all those yet to come." - tanya edwards
"Tacos, burritos and margaritas are the name of the game on the roof on this Harvard Square taqueria. The summer party vibes, complete with twinkle lights, give Felipe’s tons of atmosphere, and nothing pairs better with sunsets than queso and tequila." - Tanya Edwards
"In the infamous battle between Felipe’s Taqueria and El Jefe’s Taqueria to be named the best Mexican spot in Harvard Square, we are staking a claim for Felipe’s. While Felipe’s may not stay open as late as El Jefe’s, it does have something that its nemesis does not: a rooftop bar." - Celina Colby
"Felipe’s is one of those spots where you walk through a line and tell someone on the other side of the sneeze guard whether you want extra guacamole in your burrito. But please do not confuse this place with a Chipotle. For one thing, the burritos at Chipotle aren’t nearly as good (get the chimichanga with creamy queso on top). But more importantly, Chipotle doesn’t have really strong margaritas and a roof deck strung with string lights. This place gets really crowded, but the lines move quickly and it’s worth it." - dan secatore
"From the street level, Felipe’s in Harvard Square just looks like a standard fast-casual taco place. But if you’ve eaten there, you know that it’s a much better option, and if you’ve gone up to the roof, you know that it’s a great place to spend a couple of hours drinking some strong margaritas and eating big burritos." - joel ang, dan secatore
