Ferraro's Kitchen Restaurant & Wine Bar - Review - North Bay Village - Miami - The Infatuation

"Ferraro's is an Italian restaurant located on 79th Street, just west of North Bay Village. It’s got an upscale atmosphere and the food is pretty good. We would happily eat their pear gorgonzola pasta (fiocchi de pere e gorgonzola) and lobster ravioli again. If you sit inside, it might feel a little stuffy. But they do have some really lovely outdoor seating, which would work great on a cool, breezy night." - Ryan Pfeffer

The Best Miami Spice Lunch Deals, 2023 | Eater Miami

"Ferraro’s Spice menu is a culinary love story to Italian food served casually in the “Mimo” District. Visit between Tuesday and Sunday during Spice months and savor classic appetizers of melanzane alla parmigiana or bruschetta medley with an assortment of toppings like black olives pate, bell pepper, anchovies and salmon, and dill. Traditional lasagna bolognese and pear pasta dumplings filled with gorgonzola sauce and white truffle oil are on the set menu. Finish the meal with a decadent Venetian tiramisu or strawberry panna cotta." - Juliana Accioly

Simply the best Italian restaurant in town!! If you look for a nice Italian place to have lunch, of diner, do not hesitate anymore. I came several time to this restaurant for many occasion, lunch with friends, family, and dates… The place is very clean, it doesn’t take hours to get served, and everybody there is smiling…they bring you a piece of Italy in Miami! I tried almost all the dishes in the menu, I loved them all. The food is fresh and traditional, all the waiters there are very nice and friendly and make you feel like home and the prices are very, very honest! You also have a big choice of wine! Shout out to my favorite waiter « the mini rigatoni » !! Can t wait to come back to see you guys!!

The second time we dined here was amazing. I brought my husband for his birthday and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We love that the restaurant is located in a quiet area and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. My husband is Italian, so finding an authentic restaurant is always a priority, and we feel like we've struck gold here.

We've been going to Ferraro Kitchen for about two years now. It's our cozy little spot with great service and food. The menu is fantastic, and the staff are exceptional. We love that it never gets too loud—there's no blaring music, and the patrons never speak loudly, creating a wonderfully serene atmosphere. This place feels like visiting a relative who always welcomes you and feeds you with their whole heart and soul. It almost doesn’t feel like a typical restaurant, in the best way possible, because it truly feels like home.

Google
Went for special occasion and it was a mix. Service was lacking and weird , atmosphere is off. The food presentation was not there, only in caprese salad. The food was good. Took time but no hurry as only one chef cooking with assistant for salads and appetizers. The location and outside appearance is a turn off. Chef was putting his sole and energy to get all plates out as it got full. Just some tweaks and it can be a hit.

Google
A very elegant and clean restaurant. The service is wonderful and as Europeans we can confirm that the food is very good and truly authentic Italian. The best Italian food in Miami for us so far. Thank you very much, we had a great evening!

My mother and I have the greatest time. The service was excellent as well as the ambiance, food and wine. The food was amazing I had the truffle risotto (which wasn’t too heavy) and my mom had the pomodoro. Our appetizers were also excellent. Giorgio the manager is very knowledgeable and welcoming. We will be back

Google
Fantastic Italian Restaurant in Miami. Went here first night for dinner with the wife and we’re not disappointed. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We sat outside under their awning and it was a wonderful, warm evening to enjoy a quiet dinner together with nice, classic Italian (American) music in the background. Appetizer was the melanzane, and it was incredibly flavorful. Perfect for two people. Wife had the risotto with shaved mushrooms on top which was creamy and delicious. I went with the vitello parmigiana style and the portion was absolutely massive. Every bite delicious, crispy and flavorful. Dessert was the house-made tiramisu with a few espresso beans on top. Light and fluffy. Would highly recommend for a nice date night or family dinner when visiting—we would surely return when we’re back in Miami.

Yelp
One of our most favorite restaurants for authentic Italian in Miami. Chef Igor is always present giving an easy smile & a welcoming wave. The menu is varied, but classic. Everything from spaghetti & meatballs to risottos to the finest meats, fish & cheeses. My go-to nearly every time.....the pappardelle with boar meat sauce. OMG. The ambience is warm & inviting. And they have beautiful outdoor dining too. Service is always great. And.......FREE parking! (Valet on busier nights) Great wine selection at very agreeable price points. Menu prices are very reasonable for the quality ingredients & well portioned plates. Please experience Ferraro's. You won't be disappointed. You won't leave broke. You'll leave happy & full! It's truly one of the best almost hidden gems in Miami.

Yelp
Live the pear and gorganzola pasta!! Amazing! My friend got thr dinner special for $60 for 3 course meal. Fanatic! Crab cake app, risotto mushrooms and truffles, then dessert. So great always, love this place!

Yelp
Can I give more than 5 stars? The service was outstanding! Thank you to our waiter from Naples, Italy. The food was also top-notch. I recommend the Proscuitto Crudo San Daniele and Fresh Focaccia for an appetizer. Then the La Greca salad. For the entree, Spaghetti Chitarra al Pomodoro was my favorite. For wine, my husband and I shared a bottle of the Italian Gewurtztremaine. Delicious! From the outside, Ferrarro's Kitchen doesn't look like much. It is located right next to a highway and across the street from a storage unit. But don't let this fool you. You don't want to miss out on the amazing food and service. You can make a reservation online, and if the weather is nice, I recommend sitting on the patio.

Yelp
Unassuming Italian restaurant off 71st St near the causeway. If you aren't looking out for it, you'll miss it. Probably no more than 10 spots out front and if those are full, I'm not sure where you'd go park otherwise. Place is classy with both indoor and outdoor patio seating. We sat inside and were happy. Everything made from scratch so we were told to prepare for delays but food came out shortly after we finished our appetizers. Everything was excellent and would order again. Wild boar pasta is similar to a bolognese except the meat is not ground but it's extremely tender. This was my fav dish. Service is top notch. Waiter noticed a plate that was slightly dirty and he swapped it out without me needing to ask. Drinks were always filled and empty plates removed promptly. Was skeptical of the reviews here but they were spot on. I'll be returning for sure!

Yelp
We dined at Ferraro's kitchen for my birthday dinner and loved our experience. It's a little small diner where everything is homemade. The owner greeted us upon arrival and shared that it was his wife's birthday, too! He made sure we were taken care of the entire time. We did have one little mishap - I ordered the short rib for dinner and they brought out lamb! The waiter suggested that I try it before sending it back and I did, not realizing what it was. It had amazing flavor, but I couldn't get past it being lamb and decided that I wanted my short rib. They rushed the order and had it out within minutes! My wife ordered the lasagna and said it was amazing! Don't pass up their tiramisu!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service, they have a good parking area. The restaurant inside is very clean and pretty. Their foods very savory. I also ordered the beef carpaccio and finished it in 2 seconds. Their tiramisu is the best i've ever had! Definitely check this place out if you want Italian cuisine!

Yelp
Great place with delicious food! Had brazino for dinner... melted in your mouth. Risotto and pasta also delicious. Highly recommend

Yelp
Came here with a big group for a birthday and was pleasantly surprised. I'm a very picky eater so I was very intimidated by this place. Starting off the bread and olive oil was delicious it was so fresh I could possibly eat loaves of it if I could. As an appetizer we orders the charcuterie and the fried calamari and shrimp. It was delicious could not go wrong with that. After appetizers it took a very long time for the food to arrive possibly around 45-50 minutes. So if you are starving and no appetizers to hold you off this might be tough. When the food came I was so happy there was sooo much seafood which was great. The portion seemed small but I left with a full tummy. Very delicious.

Yelp
It's so delicious. Every single dish I've had here is amazing. We started with the tuna carpaccio with black truffles. And we ordered lobster ravioli and bolognese this last trip. It never disappoints. I wish we had room for dessert.! They have tiramisu-- one of my favorites.

Yelp
This place at the moment has all employees as true Italians. This matters because it's authentic....none of this Josesito & Pepe whipping up some so called Italian food. The food quality was exquisite. Salvatore (he wanted me to mention he has a dog, family and a whole lot more) provided great service. I wanted to lick each and every plate that brought out clean. I started with a modified zucchini flower dish (I'm vegetarian, so no anchovies). It was so full of flavour and the yellow grape tomatoes were outstanding. Next moved into the pear purses with gorgonzola sauce. The portion sizes were just right, not too much, not too little and the quality shines, no screams at you. The panna cotta was done artistically and was a standout. Miami Spice is going on as of this review and it's a great way to sample for a fixed price. If you are lucky, you will get one for the 5 parking spaces in the front, plus one for handicap. This restaurant has a large selection of wines. Bread was just like I like it, a good crust with a soft interior. It's at the northern corner as you come to the bridge crossing the intracoastal on 79th street. So good, so worthy of a repeat visit as well as yours. Trust me, you shouldn't go wrong here at all. I told Salvatore that it was pornography for the mouth and I'm sticking with that.

Yelp
Definitely a hole in the wall gem that I hope you're fortunate to stumble upon. The food was delicious and full of so much flavor. The staff was kind and helpful with tasty recommendations. There's only wine and beer options here as they have not obtained a liquor license, but they have excellent choices! Great experience with tasty food!

Yelp
Linguine with clam sauce was good but more fishy tasting than I'm a fan of. But it was good just the same. I had the lasagna and it was excellent! The bread was out of this world and the caprese salad was good despite the tomatoes being on the thin side and lacking as much of the balsamic glaze that I prefer. Service was on point but tapered off at the end of our meal when a larger party was seated near us. The restaurant is located right on 79th street and if traveling from the west it can be tricky to turn left into the parking lot. The lot itself has limited parking with only a few very narrow spaces. We went rather early (6-ish) so there were plenty of empty tables. There is outside seating but not my preference when it's July hot and steamy. I would definitely go again and you should too!

Yelp
Went to this restaurant and I really enjoyed the calamari appetizer and mozzarella. I loved the Ferroci as the main entree as well. The host Egger was very sweet and accommodating on a busy New years night.
google avatar

Alan A.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients professional staff. Guided us through the wine list. I let the chef choose the entree pappardelle with ragu. Super hearty meal perfect for the one cold day of the year. First time visiting and look forward to exploring more menu items.

Yelp
Affordable and great Italian food can't be enjoyable enough, unless you feel it is served by a great team of dedicated waiters and boss boys. Enough to say the great food and wine selection presented by the Cheff and the management can only make this place , one of my favorite ones. When that all happen under one roof, but also found they also have a patio where such outstanding service is extended, then you have to seat and write a review like this, even they will not give any discount nor they have asked for this. I simply want to make sure they are doing better for years to come so i can come back every time ny wife doesn't want to cook at home.
google avatar

Yelp
Came because someone in twitter said it was good. As a hater or cheap Italian and fake Italian food I dis not know what to expect. The only thing here that isn't handmade is the tablecloth. Wow, wow, wow. Hands down the best Italian food south of Baltimore. No question about it. Tried three dishes and they were all spectacular. Enjoy and you will be glad you went.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and great ambience! Easy to get to from broward or south Miami. The wine selection was superb too. We highly recommend!

Yelp
A hidden gem ! wonderful atmosphere, rich menu and food, great wines, personal warm service ! Went to car wash a few doors down the block and thought I'd try it for lunch - more than pleasantly surprised to have such a quality Italian restaurant in our hood

Rachel A.

Yelp
If I could give the service 15 out of 5 stars and the food 21 out of 5 stars I would! Chef Egor is incredibly personable and our waiters made our dining experience wonderful. Everyone pays special attention to detail to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. Portney's papardelli recommendation may have been 9.5 but if he tried the lamb on risotto I bet it would have been near a 9.8 Hazelnut chocolate cake was the equivalent of a Ferraro rocher kiss on the tongue. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants I've been to.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite meals of all time. The service was exceptional, cozy atmosphere, and some of the best food I've eaten. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening.

Yelp
Christmas dinner at Ferraro's! Overall, the experience was good (3.5 stars), but I expected way more. The service was awesome and the atmosphere is great, as well. I wanted more from the food and in my opinion it was not worth the money, but I did like that most of the ingredients are organic. So if you're into that then there's a plus. For appetizers, we ordered the Polpo all'Adriatica. The octopus in the dish was cooked perfectly and the flavor was good. The Melanzana alla Parmigiana was another appetizer I was excited for, but was unimpressed by. I chose the Pear Pasta Dumplings for my entree. I was thinking there would be more flavors, but it was pretty much straight on. Salvatore was an awesome waiter for our family Christmas dinner.

Robert K. K.

Yelp
Portions small, waiter not friendly. The salmon portion was not enough for an adult. Lasagna was good, little pasta so unusual but nothing to complain about. The gnocchi was fine, barely enough food. Would I go back, definitely not!

Sher L.

Yelp
The mushroom risotto was excellent! But the food is always great. The atmosphere inside and outside on the covered patio is cozy and welcoming. While I don't have a dog, they do allow them outside.

Maria L.

Yelp
Food is amazing full of flavor & incredible staff. Love their pasta & appetizer are amazing as well.

Bert C.

Yelp
Just awful... service was so bad but the food was worse. We had planned a very important night and told the server who really didn't care. The place was overbooked and the management was unprepared. Raw steak and rubber fish were sent back, then after waiting more than 20 minutes the food came back worse. In an area filled with great culinary choices you should be ashamed. No apologies, no please come back and give us another chance, no free dessert, no nothing. This place will be gone in a few months. Complete and utter disgrace - thanks for ruining an important night. I hope to do the same to you as I tell my thousands and thousands of followers how bad this place is. Good riddance !

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I have had. It is refreshing to find an authentic Italian restaurant in this city. The staff were both polite and welcoming. Highly recommend and being family-owned. You feel like they are cooking just for you. The atmosphere was intimate and great for conversatating. They also have an outdoor area behind the restaurant with plenty of seating. Amble parking and some nights they also have valet. The tuna carpaccio with truffle shaving is a must. The best fiocchi de pera in Miami. The desserts were also great. The tiramisu was one of my favorites. A good choice of wines in all price points was also appreciated. Do not judge this place by the exterior.

Yelp
I am Italian and find very difficult to find authentic and traditional food in Miami. However, since Igor opened his restaurant a few years ago, I visit it at least once or twice a week. He uses the best imported Italian ingredients for his recipes which are all 100% real and authentic. The presentation of the dishes is elegant end the portions are abundant. Since the chef is from Venice, he has a special talent for seafood; my favorite is his seafood risotto but he offers many other amazing options.

Yelp
Since i started eating healthier and doing a bunch of things fitness, Italian food is the one kind of food I missed the most! So when I happened to drive by for the 1.234th time by Ferraros Kitchen, I gave into temptation and decided to stop in. (It's right on the 79th Street Causeway, like on my way to the full moon party.) I ate about as healthy and light as one could in an Italian place. I held out and only had one crispy cracked bread (with perfectly fluffy inside). Mozzarella Caprese consisted of thinly sliced tomatoes (very fresh), a dab of creamy mozzarella and drizzle of a light but sweet balsamic vinegar. Just like the old days! My main course was a perfectly portioned dish of wonderfully aromatic pear & Gorgonzola ravioli. The size seemed like about the 1.5 cups noted in my calorie counting app but packed with deliciously scented truffles, naturally sweet pear pieces and just over al dente noodles. Yes, tomorrow night at the gym will be worth it! Water refills were on point, and the black no sugar espresso was the good stuff - Lavazza. My server Lucas was very courteous and on point with recommendations and the aforementioned water service.. I was even able to meet Mr. Ferraro working his magic in the kitchen. I'm saving the fifth star and calories for my next cheat day. I would love to sample their wines and a porterhouse steaks. I also heard good stuff about their panna cotta.

Charissa C.

Yelp
Fresh homemade Lobster Ravioli. It doesn't get any better than this for dinner. Ferraro's staff is impeccable.
google avatar

Alexander F.

Yelp
I was really impressed with Ferraro's Kitchen. During this COVID period those outside seating is perfect for a nice evening. It is cooled with fans and most of it is covered. The service was excellent our waiter Lucas gave us excellent recommendation from wines to dessert. Appetizers we chose burrata and cheese platter were a great start! The food was tasteful and made fresh. The lasagna and fiochi was delicious. We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. The owner came by our table to see how we were doing. They have an amazing wine selection! Parking is easily available and not an issue. Lucas thank you so much for he great service and welcoming spirit. My family enjoyed everything.
google avatar

Patricia M.

Yelp
Overall the food is great and they have an expansive wine list but the service is poor. Not for lack of trying but they may be spreading themselves thin. I was with a party of 9 and although the waiter did his best to take our order together to prevent delay in service there were many gaps throughout the night. From waiting for our wine for 20+ minutes because they had to change the glasses (appreciated but the wait was soooo long in the middle of dinner) to having to look for our waiter to ask for the check, there's was no flow to our night and when celebrating something it puts a damper on things. If I were the owners I would simply not accept reservations larger than 5-6 especially since the restaurant is small and intimate, I think they can get away with it with the volume they have. Valet on location was great and is donation based. (Tip the valet!!!) Was it the worst experience? Not at all. But I won't be recommending them on weekends or for large parties. Great date night spot!

Robert M.

Yelp
I must have passed this restaurant thousands of times throughout the years. Occasionally, I would hear different things, mixed reviews. Well, we decided to finally try Ferraro's Kitchen and it was fantastic! The flavors were authentic and very well represented. The venue is nicely appointed in a minimalist fashion. Nothing gaudy. There is a cute garden dining area as a well,as indoor seating. Free valet parking is the only option and necessary, for the restaurant is a stand alone building at the base of a bridge. There are no other sensible parking options for blocks. On to the food. We did things sort of non traditional. We ordered a Greek Salad for the table. It was tasty, but clearly Italian style with the ingredients of a Greek salad. We then shared the following dishes. I will review each individually because each stood up in its own right. First, spaghetti cacio e pepe. This dish came out with the perfect balance of creamy, cheesy goodness and spice. All of the pasta was perfectly Al dente. Next, linguini alle vongole. The sauce tasted of the sea, not too soupy as it is served sometimes. The clams were littlenecks, tender and tasty. There were some baby clams mixed into the pasta as well. Next, Tagliatelle with guanciale, a ragu made from pork. Very flavorful and tender bits of pork in a tomato based sauce. Finally, Osso bucco over risotto. Tender, delicious veal and creamy risotto. This was the only course (other than the salad) that didn't follow tradition, in that the risotto had no saffron in it. It was tasty, though. We decided to order the whole branzino prepared with a salt crust. It was a big fish. More than enough for the four of us. They cracked the salt crust tableside and there was plenty of white, flaky, delicious fish for everyone. For dessert, we ordered their apple tart, a refreshing, tangy ending to a delicious meal. Finally, a word about Igor, the owner of Ferraro's Kitchen. A true Italian with vast knowledge of food and drink, a Sommelier himself. He was genteel and a class act. He accommodated us with an inside table even though our initial reservation was for an outside table. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I think I've driven by this place 1,000 times and would have never stopped by if it wasn't for my client's suggestion! I'm so glad I did. The interior is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating available. We came for lunch around 12:30pm. The menu had a variety of fresh Italian options, but my eye was on the lunch special . I got the $25 special with 2 courses and glass of wine. My client got the lunch Spaghetti Aglio E Olio. The drinks and salad came out quickly. I've never seen a house salad so beautifully presented! And it was just as delicious. It was dressed with balsamic & olive oil. The salmon and spaghetti came out shortly after. My client loved her spaghetti and my salmon was cooked perfectly medium. We decided to skip dessert because I needed to get back to work but I would like to try next time! Really good and fresh lunch option!

Adriana H.

Yelp
Always passed by thru here, and on my bucket list. Finally, tried it out. OMG so delicious, fresh, and great wine list. We ordered the octopus & Burrata to start, ordered the seafood risotto and Fungi risotto , plus parpafelle. Then for dessert had the cheesecake & Tiramisu. Of course, we ordered bottles of Albariño wine. Just a taste of heaven, food was soooo delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Great Italian. Seems like nothing from the outside but it's a great restaurant with a nice outdoor space. Recommend

Yelp
Exceptional food. Served meticulously. Everything you eat is delicious. The service is excellent. Very large wine list. I have gone octet and have never had a bad meal. I recommend it highly.

Yelp
My good friend and I decided to stop by for dinner before attending the VanGogh exhibit in Miami. We ordered the Lamb Ossobucco dish and the Lobster Gnocci pasta dish. Both were delicious and made to perfection. Our server was Luke, who was attentive to our needs and treated us very nicely. For dessert, we had the delicious Tiramisu. The atmosphere was great, parking was easy and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. This restaurant observes health safety rules.

George G.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best Italian food I've ever eat. II've eaten here multiple times and come away more and more impressed each time. This is a true dining experience from the minute you walk in, the service, the food, the atmosphere is truly phenomenal. Highly recommend this Resturant.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. 100% recommend! The outdoor seating is super cute and cozy. There are a bunch of overhead fans so it doesn't get too hot either. We got the sautéed octopus, burrata with prosciutto and veal to start. If you like octopus, you have to try theirs! If you get the veal, I recommend putting it on the warm, fresh bread! The lobster pasta was on special so we had to get it. It did not disappoint! You can also request to make it spicy like we did. The pappardelle with boar was very good and the meat wasn't fatty at all. All the pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. We finished with the tiramisu which, they brought out with a candle! It was delicious and you can tell it's homemade.
google avatar

Cathy B.

Yelp
This restaurant has a very good presence and good crowds. They have an amazing selection of wines. The seafood pasta was amazing. The boar papárdelle (not sure how it's spelled) was great but I found it a bit heavy. I love that this place is a hidden surprise. I will go again. I went to celebrate Valentine's Day here. The wine was amazing!
google avatar

William W.

Yelp
Average good and poor service. We were rushed to finish so they could seat the next party even though we had not even been there for 90 minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
We live closed by and decided to check it out after hearing good things about it. Went on a quiet night. The service and the food were great. We will be back. Thank you!

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I have had. It is refreshing to find an authentic Italian restaurant in this city. The staff were both polite and welcoming and the plates were cooked perfectly and delicious. I urge you to try the filet and the pappardelle. The wine list is also exceptional! This restaurant is a must in Miami! I hope to come back very soon Thank you

Yelp
Excellent food and great place to share portions -- appetizer, pasta, entree and dessert.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great ambience, great service Beautiful, cozy interior and lovely patio courtyard in the back The burrata and prosciutto was excellent, the lasagna very tasty and the tiramisu wonderful Even the gentleman at the free valet was a delight
google avatar

Carla S.

Yelp
Very nice outside area to have dinner with friends or maybe with your significant other. parking is available in front of the restaurant or in the back and it's free. We had the Vitello tonato as an appetizer, and although it was really yummy, this plate is made with tuna, and it seems like there was no tuna. For main plates we had the shrimp risotto and the Porcini risotto and they were both amazing, on point and delicious. We also had the lobster raviolis and the cinchiale tagliatelle that were lacking a little bit of salt and flavor, but other than that everything was really delicious nothing that a little bit of Parmesan cheese can't fix.

Aviv T.

Yelp
One of the top Italian food eateries in Miami. Our food was perfectly prepared, with fresh ingredients. Chef Ivan masters the kitchen, nice wine list. Highly recommended. Excellent service, indoor outdoor seating a plus.

M B.

Yelp
Felt like a lovely relaxing afternoon in Italy. Relaxed service, authentic food, no loud music and rushing you out. A nice change of pace in Miami.

Luis A.

Yelp
I ordered take out for me and my girlfriend. A veal milanesa and truffle risotto. Honestly I was disappointed due to the small portions and that the food was just ok. I paid $98.00 just in food for two main entree of which it had no sides. I think there are better places for the value in Miami. Not worth coming back.
