Fidelity Studio - Review - Smithfield - Dublin - The Infatuation

"At Fidelity Studio, the lights are low, the playlist eclectic, and cocktails superb (looking at you, basil and black pepper margarita). The Smithfield spot is cool without any of the pretension you might think a self-described ‘audiophile’ bar and restaurant might have. Slink into a green banquette, order a drink, and graze on Chinese-inspired small plates. They’re not all hits, but the bao and cheesy scamorza wontons are ideal for snacking on while feeling hot. Just know that on the weekend, tables are cleared later in the evening, the disco ball starts twirling, and the main dining room becomes a dancefloor. photo credit: Dena Shearer photo credit: Dena Shearer photo credit: Dena Shearer Pause Unmute Food Rundown Basil & Black Pepper Margarita Refreshing, vegetal, and zippy. An essential drink to kick off a meal. photo credit: Dena Shearer Scamorza Wontons These crispy, cheesy parcels have ‘instant re-order’ written all over them. Don’t be put off by the slightly insipid colour—these are excellent. Especially after a dip in the plum sauce. photo credit: Dena Shearer Sweet & Sourdough Prawn Toast Prawn toast in any form is usually a yes from us, but these thick slices are a little too big and a touch too greasy. photo credit: Dena Shearer" - Daisy Meager

The interior was so stunning that I could hardly remember anything else. The DJ’s music was fantastic, but I spent much of the time admiring the intricate details of the decor. Unfortunately, the attitude of one of the servers wasn’t great, which upset my friends. Despite that, it’s undeniably a very impressive bar overall.

Coming to the end of a 6 week holiday from Australia and this was certainly one of the most memorable meals we’ve had. Our whole experience from the atmosphere, cocktails, friendly staff and food were all amazing. Our waitress really went above and beyond and we certainly kept her busy after ordering almost everything on the menu. I still think about the prawn toast!

Fantastic experience! I didn’t know I could just walk in without booking. The food was so delicious, especially the Xiao Chi Prawn Toast and the Duck wings. The staff were really nice, and one of them recommended some dishes that we tried—all were amazing👍🏻 Definitely going back!

The naming is a bit confusing (Sister7 for the kitchen and Studio for the bar/restaurant). The interior is beautiful. Bathrooms are clean & unisex. Our two-for-14e Jameson & Gingers were too sweet for my taste, as if sugar was added. The menu had lots of tasty-sounding options. We thought we were going to be stuffed with each of us ordering a bao, a plate of dumplings and sharing chicken - but each individual plate was smaller than I expected. Scarmoza dumplings were good but a bit plain so the accompanying plum sauce was useful; the crayfish dumplings were very nice; fried chicken was tasty & came with a generous dip of honey mustard; chicken bao was decent; & the pork bao was delicious, serious melt-in-your-mouth meet. That all cost 60e (inclusive of tip).

To start; Do not come here if you have any allergies. The server confirmed that there is a small kitchen and no separation for allergens, meaning cross contamination. To allow for this she offered to let us bring in some food from outside restaurants so some of our party were not starving. Ratings scaled 1 - 5 with 1 being an absolute low and 5 an absolute high. No 0's. Portion size: 1 / 5. Portions are very small, and also quite pricey. One 'okay' tasting Bao bun was 8 euro. Price: 2 / 5. Not horrible for the taste, but as above, the portions were quite small. Taste: 3.5 / 5. Was definitely nice. Not amazing though. The Bao was pretty average, corn ribs were great though. Timing: 2 / 5. Honestly, food came out of the kitchen very higgledy piggledy. One of our party did not get their food until the rest of us had mostly finished eating. Dessert did not come until 15-20 minutes after we had finished. Experience: 2 / 5. No info was given on how to order, and it seemed as if no menus were given. Instead our menu was a small slip of paper hidden inside the napkin holder in which we were to write how much of what we wanted. On top of this being hidden from us, no pen was originally given either. We were waiting about 15 minutes thinking a menu would come before our server came to check on us. One of us ordered rice and when they received it they asked for a fork, the server of course said yes and disappeared to do their work. No cutlery came. Recommendability: 1 / 5. I would not recommend this to anyone as it's not amazing or quite worth the price. Staff: 4 / 5. Servers were friendly and nice. No major complaints other than the time it took to receive assistance

Amazing vibe and decor. Love the speakers and music. We only came for drinks but their Chinese fusion menu looks very impressive and we will be back to try it for sure. Highly recommended

Went here recently for a birthday dinner for 8 - 10:30 PM on a Friday. Was told we would have last orders at 9:15, with bills closing at 9:45 (and again the booking said from 8 - 10:30 pm). Myself and a friend arrived at bang on 8, but it wasn't until after we had all seated at around 8:15, our waitress come over with menus at 8:20 to tell us we had until 8:45 to order. This was of course mildly frustrating considering some of us were sitting there for 20 minutes, and it was in conflict to what was communicated on the booking. Food was pretty good. If you've had BIGFAN before, this is the exact same menu, but I'd say it compares slightly better. However, at 9:30, the staff came over and physically took our table away, right after they had literally just served us fresh cocktails, while the party seated next to us who had been there before we arrived got to keep drinking away. We were also seated under a speaker for the one hour we were allowed to have our table, and were shouting at each other to have a conservation. The food and cocktails here are great, but you'd want to be sure that you've been reserved the 'right' table, as you may only have it for an hour and barely have a conservation over the music.
