At Fieldtrip’s second location in Rockefeller Center, vibrant rice bowls reign supreme, offering a fresh and tasty escape from the usual lunch spots.
"Fieldtrip’s Rockefeller Center outpost is perfect for when you're bored of Sweetgreen and want to grab a quick lunch that doesn’t taste like it was made on an assembly line. The menu at this counter-service mini-chain is all over the place, but pretty much everything is served over rice. Options include brown rice topped with braised beef, steamed salmon with black fried rice, and a bowl of jollof rice with greens, grilled chicken, and a garlicky avocado sauce. There’s a decent amount of seating here, but the basement concourse at Rockefeller Center isn’t a very pleasant place to have a meal, so take your bowl to go." - Bryan Kim
"The power of those words was enough to convince the award-winning chef to open a second location of his fast-casual restaurant Fieldtrip at the development in March 2021, a time when almost no other food businesses were operating out of the concourse." - Luke Fortney
"Fieldtrip is a counter-service spot that specializes in rice bowls. This might sound boring, and maybe you even yawned just now, but the food here is tasty, fresh, and just the right amount of healthy. You can get a bowl with brown rice, beef, and turmeric yogurt, for example, or you can get some crispy breaded chicken over long-grain rice with edamame and barbecue sauce. There are also a few sides like some surprisingly decent quinoa bao buns, and everything here costs less than $15." - Bryan Kim
