Fierro

"With a culinary tradition dating back over half a century, this restaurant located just a few metres from the Ruzafa market is renowned for its fresh take on day-to-day tastes that will come as a pleasant surprise. The attentive couple at the helm in the kitchen, Germán Carrizo and Carito Lourenço, are the first to acknowledge that their dreams have well and truly come true in this small restaurant which allows them to enjoy the freedom to combine what they learned when working within the Quique Dacosta group with the culinary roots of Carito’s native Argentina (although don’t be surprised to also find inspiration from Spain and Italy). Their cuisine is centred on a single tasting menu with two wine pairing options, the central theme of which is the Mediterranean. Guests can also savour a few seasonal extras such as truffles, caviar, artisan cheeses etc!" - Michelin Inspector

I had decided for my trip to Valencia to book a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants. I chose Fierro for the tasting menucand I am glad I did. Every aspect of the meal - from the service to the presentation to the quality and creativity of each dish - was perfection. I can't wait to return.

Michelin loveliness! This is an experience. We did the evocation tasting menu with the wine pairing and my taste buds thanked me. The sommelier and the chef were so friendly. We tasted the food then they revealed what it was, which I loved. So you weren't judging the food. This was such a lovely find where you are spoilt for choice. Would definitely recommend!

So amazing. Needless to say, you do expect the best of the best in restaurants like this, but Fierro and it’s amazing team elevate this to the next level. Every dish carefully and deliciously curated didn’t disappoint at any step, my favourites were the oyster salad, beef and duck dishes. The maridaje was glorious, and we are already planing to come back only to try the without alcohol one that they make themselves. Very cozy and intimate as there are only four table, and the service run smooth, friendly and warm overall. Still waiting for that bread to go tho(joke, because you will love the bread!)

A very unique experience with amazing food and very good service. We were a table of 6 and some arrived late but they were very accommodating and also a last minute dietary requirement which they executed without any problems and the alternatives looked amazing! The whole evening was a game with us having to guess the ingredients, wondering what the next course will be (you receive the menu at the end) and it was a very well orchestrated dinner. The service of all staff and chefs were amazing, paying attention to all the little details. Definitely deserving of its Michelin star. Highly recommended. Price is definitely on the high end but you definitely will not be disappointed.

We were a party of three and generally enjoyed our evening at Fierro. The team was very friendly and competent. Some dishes were truly exceptional. The meat course stood out in particular: the texture was incredibly tender and just melted in your mouth. And the bread... OMG, the bread! I still think about it sometimes:D A couple of things slightly affected our experience: first, it seemed like all the tables were served the same dishes at the same time (it's a very small restaurant), which made us feel a bit rushed at times. Also, the wine pairing portions were very tiny, we often found ourselves sitting with empty glasses.

We decided we would book a nice restaurant for our four days in Valencia. Normally we perform extensive research. This time we booked only two days in advance and looked at the Michelin guide and quickly read a few reviews to decide where to go. We fell on our feet way choosing Fierro. A tiny place, all tables occupied at lunch and only eight people although I now see they welcome up to 12 people. We had the smaller degustación and there were a lot of courses. I was starting to wonder if I would be able to complete the meal( I did, but I think I would really have struggled with the larger menu) Everything that arrived looked great. A lot of care in designing the colours and placement and we always love the tiny leaves or other things that decorate. There is adventure here also. There is not a menu to read, not an explanation as the food is delivered. Instead you are challenged to guess the ingredients and they are explained to you afterwards ( it’s not a test, you are not marked , you are simply told as the plates are cleared) . That made it a bit of fun. What I took to be a nod to Adrià with the olives worked very well. I really enjoyed the pigeon, served very rare. My wife a little less so. The pickle selection really fun. The prawn head totally novel but bisque is not to my taste. A leaning to seafood was very acceptable. Each of the staff very lovely people. All very comfortable in English. 2 hours and 40 minutes which felt perfectly paced and I can see 13 different things on my photos….I usually forget to take a picture or two. We drank only sparkling water as we usually do at lunch. A nice looking room. I liked the menus Argentinian theme which was not what you may expect when you read ” Argentinian theme”. Much more quirky and adventurous. All up AUD 520 for two, as I said no alcohol but lots of fizzy water and a cup of tea. I can’t recall the euro number but can see my A$ credit card. I thought this represented very good value for the quality of food, service and location. Thoroughly recommend and would visit again if it were a little closer to my home!!

Google
Amazing place with a great concept of their tasting menu. The waitresses are not "boring" you with a 5 minute monologue before every course with every single ingredient but rather let you guess what's in it and then explain later after you have finished it. We've had a very smooth relaxing evening here and enjoyed the time and food a lot. Incredible staff who managed to create a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come again when i am in Valencia.

Extraordinary from start to finish, Fierro is uncompromising in quality, innovation and service, all balanced brilliantly within a friendly, yet elegant setting. Every mouthful was superb. Every interaction with the Fierro team was enjoyable. Having dined three times over the last 4 years, each visit has been better than the last with new, exciting dishes every time and tableside service that enhances the experience. Thank you for the care taken with our dietary requirements. Congratulations to the Fierro team, you are exceptional!
