"Fiesta Mexicana, a beloved Lincoln Park restaurant that closed in January 2019 after 34 years, was known for its throwback cantina atmosphere featuring mariachi bands and DJs. It was a popular spot for DePaul University students, locals, and late-night revelers." - Ashok Selvam

Disappointed. I haven’t been here in years, food used to be good. They had the best carne asada around. I got all you can eat tacos. They were just sad. The beef, barbacoa, and pork all tasted like they were simmered in the same sad sauce. They didn’t come as described on the menu, just a tiny shell with meat slapped in it and a tray of onions and cilantro so you can finish making them. Zero for presentation. I had one of each hoping for something but quit, still hungry. I understand these aren’t premium items but everything served is representative of the business. Patrons drawn in by a taco special in my opinion will not be back. My girlfriend went for fish tacos. They were well over fried. Far more bread than tilapia, loosely thrown together and the Veggies and fillings did not complement each other. Last person at our table had a ground beef chimichanga. Not exaggerating was Taco Bell meat. So finely ground it was almost smoothy. Same simmer sauce as all the other meats had. It was only meat and some random potato chunks inside this giant fried shell. Basically three ingredients with a side of dry rice. So instead we did a bunch of $12 tequila shots. It was understandably not busy. I remembered this place as being loud and packed, even with live music at times. Not sure if they still have music sometimes. But am Disappointed. Server was ok.

Great food, service and patio! They have an all you can eat taco special on Tuesdays that's pretty great but the margaritas, while amazing, might bring your tab up!

Loved this place overall! The food was decently good, not too bad but not the best Mexican food out there. We ordered drinks & appetizers; the drinks were too strong, the liquor level was unbalanced. However, it was visually a nice drink to look at but that's not what I went to pay for. The appetizers were okay but the size of each order was unbelievably small for the price! I recommend the restaurant to upgrade on their portions or you could possibly lose future potential regular customers lol or we just won't order appetizers there anymore, at least not when you have 16 people in your group party! Our server was a little slow & they seem to have bad communication between them, keep in mind that it wasn't too busy. So, I didn't really understand the problem? Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant is a go to place for decently rated Mexican and Peruvian food and atmosphere with live music! No parking & valet fills up real quick on Saturdays.

The food was great and the service was friendly. I had a sandwich with roasted potatoes and my meal was delicious. My husband had a chimichanga and he loved it. When we arrived at the restaurant it was very busy and almost all of the tables in the main dining room were full. (The noise level was high, too.) We asked if we could sit in the rear dining area and they were very gracious about letting us sit wherever we wanted. We worried that maybe they'd forget about us since we were out of the way, but we got our food quickly and our server was very attentive. The main dining area remained very busy but our service was great! The decor was nice and the restrooms were clean. There was a bar in another section of the restaurant, which looked like it was pretty nice. When we're visiting this neighborhood again, we'll definitely go back!

I've been going to this and their Broadway locations ever since I was introduced to their franchise in June 2001. It's my standard restaurant for Mexican food. This location, in particular, went through a big renovation not too long ago. When it reopened, I was very pleased with their then new menu items (short rib enchiladas were my favorite). But then, they took those specials away. Not only that, but their lunch specials changed to differ from their Broadway location (some for the better) and their drink prices went up significantly. But what I believe changed the most is their service (sometimes rude, sometimes non-existent, sometimes slow, and sometimes forgetful). Sometimes I come in and actually hope certain people are working because I know they'll give me good service. Bottom line, this and their Broadway location will always be my standard for Mexican cuisine. I just wish they didn't make so many changes.
