Houston’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Houston

"This vibrant coffee shop is located next to the University of Houston’s Downtown campus and offers students a respite from the hustle and bustle. Its bright exterior, large windows, and airy interior make it an inviting spot to settle in with a laptop or a book. Order one of the house specialties, like the Texas Blossom, a cardamon and honey latte, or the Bonito, a sweet milk latte made with vanilla and cinnamon." - Brianna Griff

The 12 Best Spots To Go Before The Rodeo Or NRG Stadium Concert.

"For the folks who just need a solid cup of coffee or jolt of espresso before screaming lyrics at Bun B’s concert, there’s Fifth Vessel Coffee Co. on the edge of Downtown. Double-fist an iced yuzu espresso tonic alongside a hot Texas blossom with honey to prime those vocal cords." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

11 Cafes And Coffee Shops For Doing Work In Houston

"Fifth Vessel Coffee basically functions as a chic extension of the UH Downtown campus. The small coffee shop has massive windows, high ceilings, warm wood and leather seats, and piles of books and dried flowers—more reminiscent of a painfully curated artist’s loft than a cafe. The coffee and snacks are pretty stylish, too. Specialty drinks like peach milk matcha lattes and chestnut syrup cortados and fun plates of whipped ricotta and smash berry toasts or croque madame sandwiches fill the menu. While the wifi is strong, there aren’t very many outlets. So, maybe writing an entire term paper or legal brief here last-minute isn’t the move, but a couple hours of clicking through emails over coffee might just feel like the chicest thing you’ve done all day." - chelsea thomas

Nestles on the outskirt of the northern part of downtown and across from the University is this cute and cozy coffee shop with a welcoming environment. They have a unique roast which is a bit strong for me but if you like an espresso with a punch, then you will love this place. Customer service was top notch and their pastries are delicious and divine and baked in house. I would come back and try their decaf espresso or ask for a half a shot of espresso and try some more pastries. Also, there is only street parking which is $2 an hour but if you happen to be visiting downtown Houston just hop the train and come on over for a visit.

I swung by this spot on a crisp Sunday morning and decided to grab a cortado with a slice of coffee cake. I'll admit, I’ve never spent so much on a single slice of coffee cake, but hey, there’s a first time for everything. The café's interior is all about clean, modern vibes with large windows that flood the space with natural light and sleek, wood-paneled walls. I also couldn’t get enough of the Harley Davidson wood benches out front. Fifth Vessel Coffee Co. truly shines in Houston's buzzing coffee scene, offering a laid-back yet refined atmosphere that makes you want to stick around.

Absolutely unprofessional business. I purchased a latte from them and told the barista that my drink didnt taste right and didn’t have any vanilla syrup in it. The barista then stared daggers at me with a visibly angry face and told me that my own order was wrong. When the boss came out to help with the situation he was completely unhelpful and said that the mistake was my fault. The barista then “fixed” my order with the mannerisms of an angry child. Add to this the fact that my scone was raw and wet. Embarassing waste of time and disappointing service. Will never do business here again and I recommend others do the same

Google
Cute but pricy Christian coffee shop in downtown Houston. I would keep this in my coffee shop rotation on another Sunday (free parking) but try a different drink. Food: I tried their Momo (peach and matcha) latte. It was decently flavorful but sickly sweet. Even in a small cup, mostly filled with ice, it had a healthy dosage of sugar pumped in. Lastly it was pricy at $6.75 ($8.30 with tax + tip) for a small coffee mostly of ice. Service: the owners Diana and Josh are nice and run the place themselves with staff. They did close a bit earlier than the listed hours on Google maps but it was their second time ever opening on Sunday. Atmosphere: the store is compact but clean and aesthetic with the coffee grinders in the main sitting area. Overall, it’s a warm space to catch up with a friend or study. The corner location and large windows let in plenty of natural light. There’s a good amount of seating from bar-style to large co-working tables to two-person tables and chairs. There are limited wall outlets (2 by the bar seating) so come with your devices charged. They’ve only been open for a couple years so the interior still feels bright and modern.

Casual gem — when simplicity meets quality. No pretence but TASTE. Mont Blanc is the cold brew w cold foam 🫠 tiny citrusy kick and just unexpected delicate flavor. Lox was indeed UNIQUE—beets add sweetness to make a shift from classy to intriguing. And people are patient yet fast 🙂

The best food and experience in Houston! Truly a family owned spot with multiple menu items. The crunchy PB&J was divine 💜🤎❤️❤️❤️

Google
This place is truly a gem in Houston. One of the few random stops I made during my first time in downtown Houston. It’s located on a corner near the Buffalo Bayou park area. The building itself is vibrant and welcoming you can’t not appreciate the art. Immediately as I walked in I was greeted and my order was taken, went with my usual a cortado with almond milk and a pastry. I got there strawberry scone which they even warmed up for me. It was delightful and delicious The place is clean, vibey and eclectic just the way I like it. I enjoyed the 20 mins I spent there and went about my day. I will be back and definitely recommend anyone to give the fifth a shot

Yelp
Ten stars. This is one of my favorite coffee shops I've visited in awhile. Find them in the heart of downtown Houston. They are tucked at the end of a street, right before a big bridge/ramp. The outside has a huge colorful mural that is fun and welcoming in itself. I then saw the Bible verse on the outside by the front door that explained why the staff was beyond lovely and clearly working to not only serve great food, but love people well too. They are legit. The woman behind the counter had the warmest smile and I wanted to give her my full attention but my eyes were also distracted by the amazing-looking pastries, the detailed coffee menu, and items marked as their specialties. My design-loving soul also was soaking in the stunning wood-paneled walls with the curved shelves, mod light fixtures, and incredible natural light pouring through the windows. I wanted to take photos of everything. I saw on their Yelp page that folks love their homemade sausage rolls. Since my husband is from England, he was delighted to find an American spot that sold those and ordered one immediately, along with an espresso. I ordered the sourdough toast with scrambled eggs for our baby and a breakfast burrito for myself. I looove matcha and saw that they're known for their peach matcha and couldn't resist. When you're in the south and you see an item with peaches, you order it. Everything was amazing. Even the simple toast and eggs seemed made from scratch and had delightful herbs and a buttery texture. My baby loved it but I definitely ate as much of that as I could. The burrito was delicious and my husband liked the sausage roll too. The drinks were unique but spot-on and we'd definitely come back if we lived here. Come here for sureeeee!

Yelp
Staying downtown during a recent visit, I found myself in need of a caffeine pick me up. With a quick search on Yelp I was able to find Fifth Vessel Coffee hidden behind a wall of a colorful mural right on the corner of the intersection. As you walk in you'll be pleased to find a super peaceful setting for you to sit down and enjoy your drinks or small bites. The music is ambiance enough for you to not sit in awkward silence, but not distracting to where you couldn't focus. Their coffee was quite delicious and I really liked their ham and cheese croissant sandwich. I love the open lighting and styling of the shop with their various community tables and select seating. You can enjoy your bevvie right outside as they have some outdoor seating for you to enjoy. The team here is pretty friendly and conversational.

Yelp
It was a cute little coffee shop- there was paid parking across the street or if you live close you can light rail! The inside could seat around 10-15 people (it was on the tinier side). It had beautiful windows and natural lighting though! Service was fast! My only issue was finding outlets if you were doing work. I could only find 2 outlets along the walls, which were also highly sought after.
google avatar

Yelp
Good coffee shop with limited seating in downtown. It is really nice what they have done renovating a bail bond shop from back in the day. Ordered a latte and a croissant. The croissant was good but it could have baked for 2 more minutes to be perfect. The latte was delicious. It got very crowded very fast. If I am in the area and wanting coffee, I would definitely return. Service was extremely friendly and I would return just for the interaction with the staff.

Yelp
Such a quaint coffee shop. I enjoyed walking in and being greeted. The staff was fabulous and the hot chocolate before enjoying The Snow Glow event at the bayou heartwarming. Service was fast and we were able to hop in and out quickly to enjoy the show. I definitely want to go back in the morning and get a cup of joe!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by on a whim while looking for hot chocolate on a chilly night, and thank goodness we did! The coffee shop is cute, and the service is excellent. When we were ordering, one of the baristas had just brought out a coffee cake and a huge fudge brownie. We didn't try it, but it looked amazing, though. The hot chocolate was rich and yummy, and make sure you ask for a dollop of their homemade whipped cream!

Yelp
What an amazing place for folks who nerd out on coffee. They source exceptional beans from roasters around the world and have an extensive pour over menu. All three pour overs that I had were very well made, to boot. I had a coffee from Nomad, a quite well known roaster in Barcelona that I'd never been able to try before, and also two coffees from a roaster in France. They have beans from some US based roasters, quite a few from Australia, and several other countries. They were running out of beans for one that I ordered, so they made me a small batch with the last of the beans on the house. Their espresso is also excellent. I had two house espressos and one super espresso (this was across 4 different visits, I should point out in case my doctor ever reads this). I also had a seasonal drink, an espresso tonic over ice with a peach jasmine syrup. It was awesome. The staff was friendly, engaging, indulgent of curious nerds like me, and really know their stuff. It is also a nice spot to hang out and get some work done. Had probably 5 or 6 tables for two plus two long communal tables. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Yelp
Came for a lunch break and I really enjoyed it! I got the mono drink which is peach and match. I think this was okay. You couldn't really taste the matcha, it was more like peach milk. We also tried the Bonita drink and they really enjoyed it. The bagel sandwich was super good and filling. The people working were super nice and helpful when we were ordering. It's a pretty small place with just a couple tables but I really like the interior. It's pretty bright with like a brutalist style.

Yelp
I came by before going to work. It's a small cafe with a bit of parking so u can park there. It's cute inside with nice furniture. Staff was really friendly and answered my questions. The coffee was delicious but honestly really expensive depending on what u got. A vanilla latte was $5 but the special drinks were $7.50+ , which is fine if the size is generous. But this was a small cup. Like real small. Probably like 12oz, but the coffee is definitely of quality. I'd probably go back if i was in the area.
google avatar

Isaiah R.

Yelp
There are many good roasteries in Houston, but Fifth Vessel was the best overall. Their pour-over was excellent, their staff was friendly, and their European-Japanese-Jazz aesthetic fit perfect with their location.
google avatar

Sandra M.

Yelp
Great coffee spot for a quick run, but not the best place to study. There isn't much seating, and the seats that are there aren't very comfortable. There are a couple outlets around though and the wifi worked well. That being said, service was great though, and my berry ricotta toast was absolutely delicious! There also isn't any free parking, but there are quite a few metered spots around. It seemed like there were a lot of UH students chatting or studying between classes. Not sure I'll be back because of the seating/parking situation, but I'm glad I stopped by.

Yelp
Very good Downtown caffe spot. Good breakfast burritos. Coffee also very good. A little expensive but good quality.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this lovely downtown coffee shop on a whim and I was not disappointed. Parking is metered and limited. The space inside is small and we came at a peak hour with lots of students/workers coming in and out. But eventually everyone cleared out and we were able to get a spot at the big table! On to the coffee - I really enjoyed the Iced Texas Blossom! Sometimes cardamom and honey can make coffee overly sweet or spiced, but this was very well balanced. The espresso was strong and not too acidic. I would love to try it hot next time!
google avatar

Yelp
Fifth vessel coffee is a new fav! From the inside to the outside the ambience was artsy and unique! Recently espresso tonics have been my obsession so I was so excited to try their Jasmine Espresso Tonic made with house made jasmine syrup & peach! it was super refreshing & delish! The staff was super helpful & guided me through the menu as I was indecisive on what I wanted to eat. I ended up getting the Bagel Sandwich which had bacon, cheese, spinach & a fried egg. It was honestly one of the best breakfast bagels I've ever had! Love it here!
google avatar

Brett N.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because the quality here is top notch. --- --- --- I was intrigued by the menu to order the "Super Special Espresso" because I'm a simpleton that can be wowed by a couple of extra adjectives in front of a standard drink order. But unfortunately, they did not have any of that left by the time we arrived, so I went with the Iced Filter coffee. It was about as smooth as coffee gets. I would order this on a very regular basis if it weren't an hour from my house. My wife ordered the Mayan Mocha, and was a little concerned about the inclusion of Cayenne Pepper, but it wasn't too noticeable when sipping. She can be a bit picky about her coffee, but she loved it. She let me try a couple of sips and while I normally just like black coffee, I thought it was excellent. It's rare for us to both like the same drink, so kudos to Fifth Vessel for achieving a level 5 rarity score. We usually like to try different coffee shops every time we are in Houston, but if we are anywhere near this place next time we are in the need of caffeine, it's going to be tough to pass up the opportunity for visit #2.

Yelp
Great Coffee! 10/10 Fast Service! 10/10 Nice clean atmosphere! Stopped by today for a coffee and i did not regret. Gave me the boost i needed and my gf got a cookie , i had a small bite it was pretty darn good! -Santangelo Balli Gonzales

Yelp
Wow wow wow. This is some of the best coffee & hospitality I've ever had. The shop is a bit cozy but they utilized the space every well. The menu & baked goods all looked and smelled sooo tasty. I started with the chocolate chip cookie that is made in house..man this might be better than Grandma's cookies. The cookie was perfectly soft with crisp edges and the right amount of chocolate chips inside. The avocado toast was simple yet filling enough for a day of activities. I highly recommend stopping here. I wish I would have paid one more visit prior to leaving Houston.

Yelp
Both service & ambience were good. Friendly, attentive, and helpful. Quaint and inviting. The food & coffee amazing. I got the 5th Vessel HOT bagel (added avo & egg) My first bite the cream cheese was all on my beard. This is good imo. They DID NOT hold back on the cream cheese or avocado! Had to use the restroom and clean up after. Absolutely recommend and loved the bagel. Coffee, I got a flat white with oat milk. Was just what I wanted and tasted great. Nice aesthetic with the cream and served fast. 10/10

Yelp
Great spot for focusing / food / coffee. I would definitely like to come back here. There aren't many outlets and the seating is only temporarily comfortable. It's a small interior but is nice for a temporary change of scenery.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I loved the peaceful atmosphere of this place--perfect for relaxing or working. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I tried the blueberry muffin, which was delicious, though a bit pricey. The coffee could use some improvement, but overall, it's a great spot to enjoy some quiet time.
google avatar

Bianca R.

Yelp
Came here the other day because a friend of mine's recommended this coffee shop. I came in during the morning , it was pretty busy! I just ordered a vanilla iced coffee with oat milk. I will say it is a tad bit pricy I'm sure because of the location. It was about 8 dollars I want to say for this tiny coffee ( 7.58 to be exact) it was honestly nothing special and the taste was a bit bitter honestly for being vanilla? I want to give it one more try just to see, only thing it's super convenient when I'm in the area. Also apparently they give student discounts you just need to show some sort of proof, but they don't offer it. Will give an updated review once I try again!
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
Great ambiance, good food and gracious staff. "Tahay" was so kind and welcoming. We'll be back!

Yelp
First time at Fifth Vessel and it completely blew me away. I am attracted to its interior design and calm ambience. It's perfect for hanging out and studying even though the space can be a bit limited. Coffee is delicious and definitely meets the high quality craft standard. They also offer baked goods (they looked heavenly) which I definitely will have to come back and try next time. Service was super friendly. Everyone working behind the bar was extremely nice. It is definitely now one of my favorite must-stops for coffee. I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for excellent coffee!
google avatar

Yelp
Just was in Houston over the weekend with some time to kill in the area so I decided to get some work done here. The place definitely lives up to its reviews! I ordered a Texas Blossom and it was perfect! The coffee was not too sweet and also not too strong but was a perfect pick me up. The shop has a very colorfully designed exterior and is on the smaller side. Otherwise I'd say the drinks did seem to be a little on the pricier side

Yelp
Fifth Vessel Coffee in the First Ward, Downtown Houston is exceptional - from the coffee to the staff, my experience was great! I wish we had one in Orange County, CA! Stopped in for an iced coffee around 11 am to a bustling beautiful coffee shop. While I was ordering my iced latte, I noticed staff cutting up some fresh fruit (peaches) and asked if they served it on the menu. They let me know that they were preparing for a catering order, and it was not on the menu. After we ordered our coffees and waters, the cashier called me to the counter and said they'd sell me a bowl of fruit! Sweet! Kind gesture. I spoke more with staff and realized the baristas are from LA, and the owners are from Tustin, CA. So, we exchanged numbers! Very kind staff and happy we stumbled upon them near our hotel. Although we did not try any of their food items besides the fruit, they have a great menu with everything from avocado toast, lox to ham & gruyère chesse croissants. Their motto is wholesome people, and that ain't no fib!
google avatar

Oris B.

Yelp
The kagoshima fizz drink added a needed boost to my sluggish day! I loved the cashiers energy, she was beyond a "vibe." Infact, everyone in the cafe seem upbeat and friendly. Fifth vessel offered an array of drinks and food. Also, the outside building art was unique and vibrant. Check this place out if your downtown on main street!

Yelp
I visited Fifth Vessel Coffee during a Friday morning to get a quick cup of coffee, but I loved the ambiance and the shop so much, I ended up trying items from their menu and pastries. Upon entering the shop, I noticed how small but cute everything was. There were chairs by the window which allows you to look on the street, and the atmosphere inside was very cozy and airy. The staff were also super friendly! I got the Bonito coffee hot, ricotta berry and toast, and a lime bluberry tart. The Bonito is definitely more on the sweeter side. Although it was good, it was a little too sweet for my personal taste, but it was good to try and for when I want something sweeter. I also got a vanilla latte (hot), as well, and really enjoyed it. All the cups are so cute, and they place your drink on a cool little slab for you to pick up. The food was brought out to you. The ricotta berry toast was a huge slice of bread with ricotta and berry sauce and was more of a colder item, but despite being doused in sauce, the toast was still crispy around the edges. The lime blueberry tart was was amazing, especially in the middle! The croissant area was super crispy, and once you get in the middle where you get the crispiness of croissant and the mix of tart blueberries and sweet meringue, it is delicious! I definitely recommend getting it if you like tarts, and it looks visually appealing as well. Overall, I think this is such a nice coffee shop to chill and be comfortable at or even people watch at. I also think their coffee is very artisanal and delicious and goes along with their scrumptious pastries!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was super friendly and nice But the latte flavor is so weird It's sour and like the beans have been badly roasted But again top stars for the service Latte for one star tops The location is kind of hard of parking And seems like an edge of downtown Plenty of homeless nearby
google avatar

Jason Z.

Yelp
Low key cool spot on the north side of downtown opposite UHD and the jail. 5/5 for the Shing02/ Nujabes playlist. Interior is cute and has the right vibe. Coffee isn't bad either.
google avatar

Jacob D.

Yelp
Artfully and colorfully presented and decorated, I really liked my first visit to this downtown coffee shop. Plenty of unique options on the drink menu and fresh made hot meals and pastries to choose from to compliment your beverage. I'll be back to check out more!!
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
Cute little cafe downtown that plays lo-fi and other lyric-less so you can focus on your conversation or even read a little. The Kaede matcha latte was really good. I requested that it be half sweet and it was perfect. There was supposed to be maple in it, but I didn't really taste it. Maybe you get more maple flavor with full sweet The matcha was smooth and had that bold earthy flavor. I also got a lox bagel with avocado which took seemingly forever to be prepared even though there was minimal store traffic. However, I will say, when it did finally arrive to my table, I was in awe of its beauty. Whatever extra ingredient they put on it to make it sweet really set it apart from your average lox bagel and reflects a gourmet touch. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
Best coffee and absolutely best croissant (with earl grey infused cream and blueberry filling). Awesome barista, we were impressed! And it's cute! Loved this place!
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
Vibe- This is a very new coffee shop that is right by UHD (it's not part of the university but they do discounts for students and faculty:)) There's some seating outside and some inside (it's not huge but comfortable enough for about 15-20 or so) Customer service- Great! The barista that took my order was so kind. Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte with oatmilk (they add vanilla to it) Parking- There's some street parking near by and some metered parking near

Yelp
Fifth Vessel are doing some exciting coffee work here in downtown Houston, and we are pleased to have this positive force so nearby. The people are kind and everything looks like it is done with so much love. There is a good amount of indoor seating to enjoy your food and coffee, with lots of natural light that makes it so nice to sit in. I love this spot and will be back time after time. Prices here, though, are a bit higher than their counterparts in the Houston coffee scene, but I suspect it's the location. But we are happy with the quality nonetheless.

Yelp
Food 10/10. Had the house burrito, & it was egg-cellent Service also 10/10. Super friendly & the barista even explained the menu to me & helped me pick out a drink. Ambiance was great, it's right across the street from UH Downtown so a lot of students in & out of the store but it's not rowdy at all, nice little place to study.

Yelp
A hidden gem in downtown Houston. Everything about this coffee shop screams perfection. The parking, the scenery, the atmosphere, the food. It is perfect down to the last detail. I got the Keylime Blueberry Tart and the tart itself has the perfect bite and texture. The tart is not too soft nor hard and with the combination of blueberries and keylime icing was *chef's kiss*. Pairing it with the Texas Blossom coffee is the cherry on top. The coffee is not too sweet and not too bitter - the perfect blend. For me, I always like to have a coffee if I order a pastry and highly recommend this coffee shop if you are wanting good coffee and food. The service was also exceptional with friendly staff and recommendations on if you are unsure on what to get. Will continue to visit once I start my job in downtown Houston.

Yelp
Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Houston, Fifth Vessel Coffee Shop effortlessly captures the essence of an exceptional coffee experience. As an avid coffee enthusiast, I can confidently say that it stands among the best coffee shops in the city! During my visit, I always grab their rendition of a Vietnamese iced coffee known as "sua dua." It's super creamy and tastes great! One aspect that sets Fifth Vessel apart is their unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. The staff members are not only exceptionally friendly, but they also possess an in-depth knowledge of their menu, going above and beyond to assist patrons in making informed choices. Their insightful recommendations added a delightful element of exploration to my visit, making the entire experience all the more memorable. For those seeking a delectable brunch option to accompany their coffee, I wholeheartedly recommend trying the "croque monsieur" at Fifth Vessel. Their rendition of this classic ham and cheese sandwich, served on a heavenly cheesy bread, is delish. Pairing this delightful creation with their superb coffee is a surefire way to elevate your brunch to new heights of deliciousness. The interior of Fifth Vessel boasts a captivating modern vibe, adding to the overall allure of the coffee shop. Its stylish ambiance creates a welcoming and comfortable environment, where patrons can unwind and revel in the moment while enjoying their expertly crafted coffee. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur, a brunch enthusiast, or simply looking for an inviting space to relax and enjoy exceptional coffee in downtown Houston, Fifth Vessel Coffee Shop is an absolute must-visit. Its outstanding coffee, friendly staff, and modern atmosphere converge to provide an unparalleled experience that will leave a lasting impression on your senses.

Yelp
Great new find in the downtown area close to UH! I really love the interior- it has that cozy coffee shop but also a bit modern with good lighting from the large windows.  There is ample seating inside, outlets, and good wifi.  Food & Drinks: I appreciate that they have a wide variety of coffee, drinks, food, and pastries. I usually get the chai latte. Their pastries and cookies are made fresh (daily, I think)- I've tried their banana nut bread and a mixed chocolate cookie (forgot the name but i. The banana bread had a bit too much banana for my liking but did the job. The cookie was tasty and very filling/large. Service: warm, friendly, and really helpful! The last who took my order was really patient and helpful with giving recommendations and was informed about how they were prepared. I really appreciated that. Parking: It's mainly street parking which appears to be paid (but I saw some other reviews where there is free street parking... I haven't found that yet. I should probably ask the cafe staff next time) I got lucky on my first visit when I came after 5:30 pm on a weekday and parking was free at that point- I was able to easily find street parking. Wasn't so lucky the second time around. Great addition to h-town, 100% recommend a visit.

Yelp
Beautiful location right off Allen's Landing. Coffee and service are great, limited but unique menu.

Yelp
Small cute space. Got a caramel iced latte: this was semi sweet and came out fairly quick. The music was light when you can't easily get some work done here. We also got the peanut butter sandwich: this was good took a little time to come out but we were not in a rush.

Yelp
Service was friendly, and the place was clean. All I had was the black, drip coffee and it was excellent. Next time I'm downtown. I'll definitely come here for coffee.

Yelp
I ordered the Bonito coffee iced, which according to the menu is "Vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet milk latte" - delicious but definitely on the smaller side for a $6 cup of coffee. Very clean space with several plug outlets nearby making it a great place to "WFH." The WIFI speed is fast and reliable, and they have a large table right in the middle of the shop that is big enough to sprawl out a laptop and notebooks. The noise level is moderate - they have upbeat music playing over their speakers so bring headphones if you don't do well in that type of atmosphere. The natural light in the shop is unparalleled. It's also got an outdoor-indoor concept - they have the front door and a window open so you're a little subject to the elements (bring a jacket for the breeze). They also have a few smaller 2-person tables outside the shop if that's more your speed. The only con is the parking situation. As the shop is located downtown, most of the parking is metered street parking or lot, so pack your patience as you search for a spot and be mindful of the one-way streets!

Yelp
I'm happy this corner has quality coffee again. I was so sad when 3 Fibs closed (RIP). This space is chic and minimal. Cozy seating with plugs for working. The menu looks fantastic and the service was quick and friendly. It smells heavenly inside. I even grabbed a bag of beans as a last min Christmas gift. The owner is clearly passionate about coffee. He was giving a demo/lesson as I waited for my coffee. Do I love waiting 15 mins for coffee at 7:50 am as you give a 5 star lesson? Eh, not really.... However, I'm I glad you are teaching the old school ways. I know I'm going to love this coffee. Yes, yes I am. Keep doing you my dude. I'll be back for sure. Update: my dirty chai latte was amazing, this man is a god! Go get a coffee from him immediately.

Yelp
Finally a great third wave coffee shop in DTH! Came here on a soft open and the place was somewhat packed already at 7:00 am. They have the usual coffee drinks but these coffee beans are so extraordinary. Beans from different roasteries like Unity, G, and Stereoscope, all great names when it comes to coffee beans from all around the world. The eats are bomb too with croissant sandwiches, cookies, breads and croque monsieur! All look great! The ham croissant was flavorful and baked fresh! The cookies are what you have to get, so good! I like the minimalist ambience and it's a great place to just hang out with a friend over a coffee and small bite. I'll definitely be coming here to try all the items on the menu. Stop in when you get a chance, it'll be an experience you wont forget!

Yelp
By far the best coffee in Houston. I recently moved here from Los Angeles and have been on the hunt for good, quality coffee. This is it! Not to mention, their pastries are divine. And, their staff are all so wonderful! Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
What a gem! This place was popping on a Thursday morning at 10am and I can see why! The coffee is amazing, gorgeous decor and the food was delicious! I had the croissant sandwich and the scone, so fresh, tasty and just enough different than your usual fare. Will be back - thank you Aussies for bringing us a great coffee shop downtown!

Yelp
Waited over 30 minutes for a coffee and sausage roll because they forgot about my order. All I got was a thank you for waiting. Not convenient to make a quick stop before work.
