Fig & Olive is a chic DC spot blending upscale Mediterranean fare with a relaxed vibe, perfect for celebrations or casual hangouts.
"In episode 11, newest housewife Stacey Rusch joins Gizelle and Karen downtown in City Center for lunch at Fig & Olive. Stacey and Karen went with the burrata and riviera shrimp and salmon salad, with Sacey sipping on a German Riesling and Karen a glass of ginger ale. Gizelle also stayed in the green family and treated herself to the little gem salad." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Tierney Plumb
"Head downtown for a special screening party from 3 to 7 p.m. Fig & Olive goes all out with an open bar featuring Woodford Reserve mint juleps and food specials like fried chicken and oyster shooters. There are prizes for best dressed, too. Tickets are $120 per person and can be purchased here." - Vinciane Ngomsi
"As an ode to the revolutionary year, a $17.89 deal at the CityCenterDC eatery includes a glass of Ricard (an anise and licorice-flavored aperitif) or a summer spritz, plus a selection of crostinis and olives. Fun fact: the U.S. chain’s culinary director Alain Allegretti was born and raised in the South of France." - Tierney Plumb
"Earlier this month, popular Mediterranean chain Fig & Olive made its Galleria debut, and crowds are already flocking to the upscale eatery. The offerings on Fig & Olive’s menu focus on Italian, Spanish, and French influences like mushroom croquette, octopus carpaccio, and truffle risotto to start, followed by dishes like short ribs, lamb chops, and paella for the main course. Crostini have their own section on the menu — topped with mushrooms, goat cheese, truffle, or Jamon Iberico — and can be mixed and matched in sets of 3 or 6. The restaurant already has outposts in New York, California, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, and its new Houston location is housed inside a massive 7,000-square-foot space across from the recently-revamped Saks Fifth Avenue building. Diners can look forward to eating al fresco on the terrace or grabbing a seat in the dining room or bar-lounge. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday until midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Check out the menus below before heading over." - Alaena Hostetter
