Outta Sight - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Outta Sight is a pizza pop-up that would sell out within minutes - and they just started operating out of Fig & Thistle in Hayes Valley every Friday and Saturday. So now, chances of getting your hands on one of their pies is slightly higher, but just slightly - they only make 38 pizzas a night, first come, first served. Walk up for pizza and wine starting at 4:30pm, and may the odds be ever in your favor. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Where To Hang Out Near 8 SF Restaurants With Long Waits

"Fig & Thistle is one of our favorite bars in the area. The place is small and dark, and feels a little secret since the entrance is down a back alley. If your impromptu trip to Rich Table is a date, this is a good place to start." - will kamensky

6 New Things To Do & Eat In San Francisco This Week - May 4, 2021

"Now in its third weekend, the new brunch pop-up operating out of Fig & Thistle in Hayes Valley will once again be serving breakfast-y dishes this Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm. Head over to Poppy SF for a breakfast sandwich with broccoli rabe, prosciutto, and calabrian chili cheddar sauce, or a barley waffle with whipped kumquat butter. They’ll also have coffee, orange juice, and spritzes to wash it all down with." - julia chen 1

Love, Friendship, and Food in San Francisco - Eater SF

"Take Aimee Rancer and Tom McCormack, a Pinterest creative strategist and an architect, respectively, who just can’t get enough of the same couple of bars. Their love for Fig & Thistle — both the original Hayes Valley location and the Market Street offshoot that was rebranded to Millay in summer 2021 — runs deep." - Flora Tsapovsky

Deep in Hayes Valley in a small corner of San Francisco you find this amazing food and wine 🍷 scene. The food is good, not too much for a great wine spot and the wine… wow! Delicious. We had a great red Italian wine not too bold, not too sweet but just perfect. The boys and I were able to enjoy the combo appetizers with a great wine, awesome conversation & all around good time catching up with memories and creating new ones. It’s a great place that reminds us of what a wonderful time looks like when you are with the ones you love. So if you are looking for an excellent place to go, get some wine, eat something light this is definitely worth the trip, time and money. I truly hope you #enjoy it as much as we did 💕✌🏼

This place is cute !! Small, but laid out well. Bar tender knew her wines, we went as we wanted natural wines and she new her stuff. Pleasant environment and yummy wines. I had to add something after to this review, as I wrote the above bit before we left...THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! My husband and I were just going to do a flight before our flight (haha) back home, but instead we ended up staying there for FIVE hours talking with the wine buyer about wine and trying fantastic vintages. We enjoyed glass after glass of delicious wine. The bill was extremely reasonable considering how long we were there for! Absolutely a don’t miss!

Beautiful space with lots of plants decor. The wine selection was good as well, though they have some bitter tasting wine that I can't get used to as much.

Slow & mediocre service, coupled with underwhelming & overpriced food renders this place “to-avoid” on a casual night at best. This was my first time eating here and will probably be my last. The wait time to be seated outside wasn’t an issue at all. However, the wait time for our pizzas to come was pretty unrealistic. I mean what are the cooks doing back there? Stomping the tomatoes in the back? Most likely they forgot it in the oven because the crust was burnt to a crisp. Not to mention that after the order was put in, which the staff was urging us to do every 2 minutes. They barely tended to us at all. And upon the request of some additional olive oil so that we can drizzle it on the pizza, the server declined because “Unfortunately, there is no way to ring it up.” I am very sorry, but why would you even charge me for a little olive oil? Other establishments have never charged for such a small condiment. Maybe the waiter was just lazy. All this to say that the inflated prices here don’t justify the quality of food and service at all. Hard pass!

Great ambience. Lively crowd. Bad wait staff. We ordered a bottle of wine. The waiter left it with 4 empty glasses & walked away. We were not attended to after untill last call was announced. Asked for water was given carafe w 4 empty cups. I ended up being the one pouring for everyone. Presented w 20%tip included for party of 4 or more. Bringing a bottle and not pouring the first glass is poor service by any standards. Especially for something that's primarily a wine bar.

Great wine bar. It was really busy but they were very accommodating. Its definitely got that neighborhood wine bar feel. Somewhere you want to meet friends after work, start the night off right or meet for a first date. I loved that it was in an old house and that most of the tables were communal. I was quite impressed with this place and would go back.

What a nice way to spend a Friday evening in the city. Wandered in and was immediately geared warmly by Nestor (the whole team exude warm hospitality) who was able to accommodate us without reservations. The space is cozy and the counter seating allowed is to get to know our host a bit better with introductions. Highly recommended the Tavern pizza and add the Phoebe of the hunger pangs are mighty. Two pizzas were more than enough for two with plenty forbtake away enjoyment.
