The Best Boston Pizza Places Delivering Right Now

"There are a number of unusual combinations available for the flatbread-style pizzas at Fig’s, including a pie that’s topped with crispy calamari. Since that means we don’t have to dip our calamari in tomato sauce, which inherently lowers the chance of sauce on the sheets, we’re all for it. Place an order online for delivery." - joel ang

Broken Coconut Restaurant Chain to Expand From New York to Boston - Eater Boston

"Restaurateur Todd English, whose Boston roots go back decades, now only operates two restaurants here (two locations of Figs, a pizzeria), mostly focusing on his other brands in other cities (and several other Figs locations in the United States and abroad). English is planning to franchise Figs with Fransmart, aiming to bring its oblong pizzas worldwide (in addition to the existing international locations in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates)." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

We recently had a nice dining experience at this restaurant near Acorn Street in Boston, where the menu caught our attention as we were walking by. The outdoor seating was perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather and scenic street views, which added to the charm of the meal. We ordered the Red Sox pizza, which was flavorful, and a salad featuring beets and pistachios with a delicious dressing that tied everything together nicely. The food was definitely the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the service was a bit lacking—our waitress wasn’t particularly helpful or attentive, which took away from the overall experience. Despite that, the quality of the food and the lovely location made it a pleasant meal, and I would recommend it for the food and ambiance alone.

Incredible food! I love the brick oven pizzas and the broccoli is delicious. I also ordered the Greek salad with chicken, and the meatballs and pasta is unbelievable! Came with a group. Love the new decor, and their outdoor area is super relaxed and amazing location in Beacon hill. Service was quick, and the staff is super friendly. Todd English is an incredible chef, and I love how delicious and approachable his menu is. They have something for everyone here. Nobody is leaving hungry!

Google
Insane this place is sub 4 stars. The pizza was delicious, the fries were great, and our server was attentive but wasn’t bugging us. Small place so make a reservation, but it’s very nice inside. Quattro Formaggio was delicious

This was our second time within a year we went there. We ordered a pizza and meatball sider at first, it was so good we ordered another pizza! The pizza crust unbelievably delicious! The outdoor atmosphere was also nice and our waitress was super kind and respectful. We will definitely go back !

Google
6/2/23 Solid place for pizza- wood fired oven in the back keeps this place toasty but they pump the AC in the summer. Had a Caesar salad (was average) and roasted bell pepper pizza which was huge and delicious.

Stopped here for late lunch on our Boston afternoon visiting the Constitution and Bunker Hill Monument. We were SO happy with our choice. We chose to ate outside as it seemed a bit warm in the restaurant. The chicken parm sliders were AMAZING, and the meatball sliders very good to excellent-generous portions for an appetizer which was greatly appreciated. Our party of four had a hard time deciding from the many unique pizza options-we got a small cheese for the youngest of the party and a specialty pizza they made for us with half crispy eggplant and held spicy chicken sausage. We are taking enough leftovers for another meal and will have to try the garlic rosemary French fries on our next visit. Highly recommend if in the area!!!

Google
The restaurant is very good in general but the "Rode Island Calamari" was full of oil, we couldn't eat the entire appetizer. The bread and olives were really good. Our main dish was the "Slow cooked ribs with pappardelle" it was a special menu, that was amazing. I'm just giving 4 stars because of the appetizer.

Google
Local guide here. I wanted to like this place but no. I cannot recommend and will not return. My menu was a ripped paper. I asked for the fig pizza and not available. I slaked for another pasta and not available. What? The calamari was good, but the pasta was subpar. Sangria was 60% ice water and wine. Far from what one expects from a sangria. The staff kept being pushy for us to order, and later switched the background music to the one they play to babies to make then go to sleep. Can’t believe did that😅. Overall overpriced food, non courteous staff. Avoid.

Yelp
The owner of a local art gallery recommended we dine at Figs ... and as 'out-of-towners', who are we to argue with a local? It was a simply beautiful Saturday, and we sat outside. Our order, a beet salad, tomato & spinach soup and a crispy eggplant pizza were a DELISH! MY only gripes were: 1. One waitress was handling all the outside tables, so attempting to get her attention was trying. To be fair, she was working her butt off, but she and the bus boy just were not enough staff to accommodate their patrons. 2. I ordered a diet Coke and then a re-fill. They charge a hefty $5 for any of their sodas, which is indicated on the menu. So that's on me. But re-fills are not free! It was ANOTHER $5. When the majority of restaurants do free re-fills, and you do not offer free re-fills, either indicate it on your menu or make sure the wait staff is instructed to tell the customers that it will be another $5. To sum up, despite the delicious food offered at Figs, seeing a $10 charge on the bill for two diet Cokes left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
First off I can't comment on the pizza... because we never got ours. I can however comment on the service, which was among the worst I've ever received. Which is how my friend and I ended up going to the theater hungry. Let's back up: I arrive and am seated outside immediately (which was lovely) and order a glass of wine while I wait for my friend. He arrives and orders wine and we split a salad and pizza (go half and half between two types). I ask for a small substitution of ricotta for gorgonzola on the pizza. Fifteen minutes later my friend asks where his wine is... and the waitress brings him a glass of red. (He ordered a white.) He asks for the correct wine and we wait. Ten minutes later she brings the correct one and then asks me what the substitution on the pizza was again... the pizza we had ordered 25 minutes prior. This was not a good sign. Our salad comes (thank goodness we ordered a salad!) and we inhale it. At this point we have maybe 15 minutes before we need to leave to get to the show. So we check on the pizza. She says it's in the oven. We ask for the check so we can pay now. Check comes. We pay. Still no pizza. We have to leave in 5 minutes. We ask her to box it up and we'll try to eat it while we walk to the Emerson Colonial. Finally she is headed out the door with the pizza... and in the doorway drops it so it does a 180 degree flip upside down. She picks it up and brings it to us, and pauses before revealing that she dropped it. We open the box and it's completely destroyed. She looks at us and says nothing. I suggest now would be a good time to comp our wine and salad given we had been there for over an hour and never got dinner. She says she can't do that. I ask to speak to a manager. She says there isn't one on duty. We have to go. She says let me see what I can do. Five minutes later she comes back and says all she can do is take off the pizza we never got. At which point we sigh and leave. We speed walk across Boston Common, arrive with two minutes to spare, and sit through a 3 hr musical with our stomachs rumbling. Truly the worst night out I've had in Boston.

Yelp
The pizza is undoubtedly delicious, the service is, eeh, I have been here three times in the last 12 months. All I want a fig and prosciutto pizza. I have ordered it each time I visit and have yet to eat one. Each time, "we're out". So, always a delicious second choice but for a place named FIGS, I would love to taste one. On this most recent visit half of the beers listed on the menu were not available and no ice was available for the warm soda. But, in the end, bagged ice got delivered. So, overall, eeh. Also, the plates on this most recent visit could have been cleaned a whole lot better.

Yelp
Honestly pretty disappointing. I love watching top chef, so being near one of Todd English's restaurants was pretty exciting for me. I asked the servers if we could sit outside, and they said that we couldn't because it was reserved. After being inside for about 40 minutes, no one came, and the table was empty the entire time. The menus we were handed were also dirty. Sauce finger print stains on 2 of them. No air conditioning with an open hearth pizza was pretty miserable, and the bathrooms didn't have soap. Food was pretty good, meatballs were excellent, but the eggplant parm pizza had almost no flavor. Fig and prosciutto was good though. I'll be honest I don't think I would come back. It seems more of a tourist place rather than a staple where I would come every week. If this were restaurant wars, I'd tell Todd to pack his knives and go.

Yelp
Pizza was great! Ordered spicy chicken pizza and split it with the eggplant pizza. Both were deliciously made but the eggplant pizza could've used some more toppings. They were both made to order it came out in a timely manner. I personally wasn't a big fan of the spicy broccoli appetizer. It just tasted like pickled broccoli with peppers and nothing more.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch while visiting from out of town. A very small inside space but can see them putting the pizzas in the wood fire! The patio is also very adorable. Service is ok a tad slow. Overall the pizzas we ordered were really good there were 4 of us and 2 pizzas were plenty.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. Was served a frozen side of broccoli which was supposed to be a hot dish and literally was taken out of the freezer and put on the plate. Had to listen to one of the waiters play videos at full value from his phone at the bar all night as well. Decent pizza, but definitely not worth dealing with the bad for a little bit of good.

Yelp
Walked in for an early Sunday dinner. It wasn't too crowded so we were seated right away. The menu has a lot of different options for pizza and you can do half-and-half pizzas as well, which was good for a group with different tastes. We got the asparagus fries, which were very good and the pizza came out hot, was really crisp on the bottom and very tasty as well.

A R.

Yelp
Went today. Place empty. That should have given us a red flag. I can say that only the Greek salad was ok. Bolognese was cold, too much sauce and it came before the appetizer. We felt and eat a Guy Fierys burger joint and it was not awesome but it was better than figs. Do not waste your money.

Trina L.

Yelp
Horrific experience today. We had a 7:30om res. Called ahead to say we'd be 15 minutes late. The manager said "no problem". Our dining partners: my son and his girlfriend who had just arrived from airport travel across from the west coast raced ahead of us to get there and were able to arrive on time . The host Anna said "you are too late" and motioned on the group of four standing in line BEHIND them to take our reserved table (!!). We were speechless after trying to make a special evening happen only to be thwarted by the host's rude behavior. We were big fans of the now closed Charleston Figs and were giving this location a try- but won't be going back. Todd English sadness.

Yelp
Located in Beacon Hill is a fun new twist on pizza. This pizza gets cooled so hot but for a shorter duration of time to create a fluffy crispy pie. delicious types to choose from. Great place to get food on a date whether you're headed to the Commons, the Esplanade, or sight seeing Acorn St. The service was good too.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here by myself to grab a bite to eat. The service was decent, it was a slow Tuesday night so not too many tables were filled. Ordered the Crispy Eggplant Pizza and it was okay, eggplant and sauce was good, but the flour on the pizza was really caked on, it was mostly all I tasted when I would bite into it. Hoping that was just a fluke so I'm giving it a 4 stars.
google avatar

Patti O.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and stopped in here for dinner. The place is pretty small inside, but cute especially for a date night. The food was good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. Service was ok.
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
Excellent service and fabulous pizza! Walked in around 6 on a Friday and was able to get a perfect table next to the window. Such a cozy and homey vibe. Not sure if they have their liquor license cause the sangria was definitely just wine and orange juice, but it was still really yummy! Will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Cheryl S.

Yelp
Came with a coworker for dinner. We split the calamari, Greek salad and four cheese pizza. Food was good. White sangria was good as well. We were in early so server was very attentive. My only negative would be that because the restaurant is so small it can be a bit noisy.
google avatar

Allegra P.

Yelp
I enjoyed sharing a pizza here and it was better than I expected. The spicy chicken sausage pizza had a nice heat to it. I liked that this place was small, which meant it was easy to hear my date because it wasn't too loud. The servers are very nice. The only thing that I would change is the wiggly toilet in the bathroom. They need to get that fixed because it thoroughly scared me and I'm an average short woman.
google avatar

A L.

Yelp
I asked for only a little cheese and extra tomato sauce Think it's my first and last time.
google avatar

Bmb B.

Yelp
Not sure what's happening with the manager letting two tables walk away tonight because no one came out to take care of them or the pizza that I ordered that Figs had to make TWICE and BOTH were wrong. What gives? Btw, when you order a vegarian pizza please don't put pepperoni on it the first or the second time. THANKS!
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Who says Boston doesn't have decent pizza place!! This is not true if you've been to figs and have a fig prosciutto pizza and spicy shrimp pizza. They are AMAZING and my favorite. After having the full amount of pizza myself, pay and leave I start craving it again. Love this place.
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Cozy darkly lit restaurant with fun food combinations like the Fig & Prosciutto Pizza. I liked the fig combo more than expected but still liked the Red Sox pizza better. If you get the pizza, you can half one type and half another type. We decided to get the Calamari appetizer rather than the calamari pizza and we don't regret that at all!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Terrible service, quality of food really gone downhill. Don't order from here either because they will absolutely get it wrong.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place w yummy pizza! I enjoyed. Not too expensive as well. Bathroom is kinda funky though idk.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
I had been hearing good things about this place for a while and finally got to check it out! It's a small, cozy space inside, but they also have outdoor seating when the weather's nice. We tried the Beet Salad which was very good, and the Fig and Prosciutto pizza, which came with huge slabs of prosciutto. In my opinion, it was cut a little too thick to be on a pizza (we ended up having to take it off, cut it into bite size pieces, and put it back on the pizza), but all of the flavors were wonderful. The service was just ok but it was a busy Friday night with only a couple servers so can't blame them too much.
google avatar

Yelp
They're an utter joke. An embarrassment to restaurants everywhere and bring shame on the name of Boston. Hopefully they right their ship but they'll need a new everything to do it. Service is terrible, pizza is half cooked, they're disdainful about hospitality, food, people. It's essentially a place now that is looking to see how much they can get away with before people finally say enough is enough

Restaurant R.

Yelp
This place feels like it's going downhill. I used to like bringing people here. Picture above is literally the fig and prosciutto pizza - which was topped with deli ham. Not the place it used to be.

Yelp
Came in on a weekend afternoon just after the lunch rush had gotten in. It was pretty busy but people filed out while we were dining. 1/5 Figs pizza - too sweet. Learned i am a savory pizza gal. Figs were a bit too much. The proscuitto didnt balance it out enough. I had about half a square and couldnt eat more of it. Portobello - this was good. I had almost half of this pizza. Love mushrooms. This is one of their vegetarian options. They played pop edm in here the entire time so you know the staff is young. It did not fit the vibe of the restaurant or of the street outside though. Was a little strange to me though i do like edm personally. The air was thick which made me want to cough the entire time we were here. I was so excited to finish lunch to get some fresh air again lol. My throat was feeling a little sensitive the whole weekend so if i had been feeling just fine i think the air inside wouldnt have bothered me. Just something to note. Service was good. I think this has all the components to deliver a potentially good dining experience. It just didnt work together for me.
google avatar

Zenia R.

Yelp
The food was rummy, we originally wanted the Fig with Prosciutto, but they had run out so we got the Fig with Bacon. It was good, but we definitely think the Prosciutto would have gone best with the sauce. We did feel a bit unattended to outside and it was starting to get chilly, so thankfully we got a table inside. Inside they seemed to see and notice us a lot better. So just as a tip.

G H.

Yelp
Good but inconsistent. We have walked by this place multiple times and thought we should try it. Reviews seemed split between "great meal" and "used to be good but no longer". We wanted to have our own opinion so ordered a takeout pizza. Arriving early, we saw what looked like our pizza come out of the oven with black edges all around the crust. When we confirmed this was indeed our pizza, a manager said that it was black because they was no topping on that portion of crust. We could see that was not the case with a different pizza next to ours. When we asked if our pizza choice always had black crust, they reluctantly offered to make a new one. The latter was an excellent pizza. This willingness to package up a burnt pizza for takeaway seems to explain the mixed ratings. This might reflect inexperienced staff. Potentially great food, but buyer beware.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Really bad experience through Uber eats, pizza showed up two hours late and of course was ice cold. Half of our pizza was missing toppings Overall, seems like a poor operation. Many better options.

Paul B.

Yelp
I've got to take this off the take out rotation. Raw undercooked pizza now twice in a row. They must have changed chefs.
google avatar

Yelp
A nice eatery got pizza and pasta on Charles Street. Perfect stop for lunch after trekking up Beacon Hill, locating Acorn Street admiring architecture, decorated doorways, trees and lamp posts. Their pizza is zi kid you not, HUGE and much different from the Boston Pizza franchise in Hawaii. Peruse the menu as the types of pizza are unique. We chose fig and prosciutto pizza that had a hint of fruity sweetness. The calamari half was devoured as do ingenious. There are only s small amount of tables, not socially distanced but provided a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying lunch here.

Yelp
The quality of the food has gone downhill over the years. I used to love this spot but the pizza is now inedible.

Yelp
I visited Figs with a friend for dinner, and I'm still thinking about the calamari pizza! Figs is known for their thin crust pizza. You have the option of choosing 2 flavors for a single pizza to be served 1/2 of each flavor, and pay for the more expensive flavor. We opted to do that to try 2 flavors. A single pizza is quite large -- my friend and I were both full sharing one pizza. We tried the crispy calamari and Red Sox. Generous amounts of crispy calamari, and I love the combination with hot chili peppers, arugula, and lemon aioli. The Red Sox was yummy but definitely enjoyed the calamari more. I hope to be back to try the fig & prosciutto. We also tried the chicken parm, which was unfortunately disappointing. The pasta was yummy, but the chicken was VERY dry. Recommend sticking to the pizzas here!

Brendan C.

Yelp
I dined here yesterday for the first time in a few years and it has changed significantly. It is a shell of its former self. Food is significantly subpar, they were out of all their seafood options, the menus are tattered, and the restaurant was empty. They always had great food before, but the pizza recipe has changed and my chicken piccata was like a soup and disgusting. Todd English should consider revamping or shutting it down. On a positive note, the servers were nice.

Veronica M.

Yelp
I came here a couple months ago and the pizza and service were both not good. Today, I walked by and saw a rat inside. Do not come here.
google avatar

Yelp
This week I went to Figs for the first time. My review is mixed. Got the fig and prosciutto pizza and it was delicious! The "rustic Caesar salad " was pathetic however- could have done better with a grocery store bag variety. Service was fair. Made a reservation the day before and when I got there they said they had no reservation for me. They seated me and my friend but it felt like they were doing it to be nice when in fact it was their mistake! Finally , flies! Two jumbo flies kept swooping around us while we ate. Gross. If not for the pizza this review would have been a flat zero!

Craiig S.

Yelp
We decided to order a pizza with half pepperoni and the othet with prosciutto. -bad decision .as the kitchen's solution to this request was to take parts of two cold dried out stale leftover pizza's and jam them together and charge $27 This place is a joke don't go there , thus coming from a person who rarely complains and never writes an online review
google avatar

Eva R.

Yelp
Got takeout here on a Friday night and highly recommend. We had the crispy eggplant pizza and mushroom pizza. Their pizza dough is perfection! Super thin and perfectly chewy. The pizzas each come with 8 large slices. The crispy eggplant pizza was unique. My favorite was the mushroom as it had mushrooms, red onion, and truffle oil - the combination of flavors was perfect. We also had a beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios that was very flavorful. Highly recommend and would definitely get pizza from here again. Prices are on the higher side for pizza, but worth it.

K B.

Yelp
it is not the same place - they have checked out - pizza is half the size - all the recipes are diffrent and poorly prepared, but the names are the same - the pizza cheffs are not experieced and burn the pizza - try to call them they leave the phone off the hook - it is a complete disapointment if you are expecting what it was - felt scammed, the pizza was the wost - the red sox will likey tell them to stop using thier name for a pizza its so bad - after you go remeber - i told you !!!

Yelp
Not sure what happened to Figs, but it's not good. AC was busted on a hot summer day. Service was beyond slow. People were turned away, when there were empty tables. Food was OK, but not like it used to be. I hope the ownership reads the recent reviews and makes some changes. I wish I had before eating here today!
google avatar

Olivia W.

Yelp
Honestly the food here was ok, I've heard there's another location in Charlestown so I might try that one next time instead. The main issue I have with this restaurant is the service; for the size of the whole place (10 tables max) service couldn't be any slower. We made reservations ahead of time and even then we had to wait over 10 minutes for a table - which was shoved against the wall so we had almost no room the entire time. The fried asparagus was my favorite thing we tried - crispy and delicious. We also got a pizza: half fig/prosciutto and half spicy chicken sausage. The fig and prosciutto was good, the spicy chicken sausage was underwhelming...I wouldn't order that again. The entire pizza was burned around the edges giving the 'wood fired' quality but to me that just overpowered the taste of the pizza ingredients and made a giant charred mess of my napkin. They also have an interesting serving style...putting a full baking sheet of pizza upside down on the bread bowl. That's literally the only way to hold any food on the tiny table so it was an interesting balancing act between keeping the pizza upright and trying to get crumbs to land on the plate, not my pants. There were only 2 people working and one was only doing water service so I know they're understaffed and tried to be patient...that's how things are right now. But it was the waiter's attitude that put me off. After a full lunch experience that was very slow and painful, we paid the bill and got ready to leave. He saw us put our coats on and insisted we didn't pay and made my fiancé wait in the doorway for 10 additional minutes to check that we actually paid and weren't lying. At this point I was incredibly frustrated and insulted. I will not be visiting this location again.

Cory G.

Yelp
Staff was extremely discriminatory. I came in and said I needed a table for 1. I was turned away because their system was down and they were not taking orders. 10 minutes later I see them sit a lot of people (I moved to a cafe across the street from them) Disgusting behavior

Dori C.

Yelp
Good service but very very disappointing food, we got 2 pizzas, the Fig pizza was overpowering sweet, the other one not great . Both were very dry . The dough is kind of flat. One would expect a restaurant with a famous chef's name to be much better than that ,especially in that location.
google avatar

Juliette B.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious and served off of a sheet pan which we thought was very unique and easy to eat off of. We also had the broccoli which was grilled and also had a spicy marinade. Service was very good and the atmosphere was fun with a big open window in the front to people watch. Definitely coming back!!!

Yelp
We went to Figs on a sunday afternoon. Its a cozy little place and has amazing food. We ordered the spicy shrimp pizza and crispy eggplant pizza and both were delicious. We liked that the pizzas were not just unique conceptually but tasted great too. Would highly recommend if you are in boston and are in the mood to try something different.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is good to ok but the service and space are very poor. They sat our reservation of 6 at a table for 4, ran out of menus, messed up several of our dishes, and we rarely saw our waiter. Won't be back

Yelp
I loved this place, and came here at least once every time I visited Boston prior to 2020. I returned Aug 2022 and found it much less impressive than before. The pizza is still pretty good, but they were out of prosciutto and a few other meats. Sliders were mediocre. I think they forgot about one of our sides because they brought our brussel sprouts after we already finished most of our meal, and it was already cold. They also stopped serving focaccia which used to be amazing.

Yelp
This was my first meal in Boston and boy, did it not disappoint!! Located in Beacon Hill, this small and quaint restaurant makes the best pizza. I'm still thinking about it a month later as I write this review. The pizza is incredibly fresh and the crust is the best consistency - not too rubbery or flaky. We ordered the large pizza and chose the calamari as one flavor and fig&prosciutto as the other. The fig one was surprisingly good! I enjoyed the sweet but also savory cheese and fig pairing, plus you can't go wrong with prosciutto. The real winner was the calamari topping though. These are the BIGGEST and fluffiest calamari I've ever seen. So good!!! My friends and I were basically fighting over it! The pizzas were conveniently sliced into 4 for each flavor. There was 4 of us so it was perfect. The slices were also extremely large, so you will get your value!
