Great Local Market Very small in comparison to the more trendy downtown ones but I am absolutely grateful for the ability to get vendors with fresh seasonal produce, pastries, flowers and sometimes a hot item or two! There are sometimes performers along with the vendors but for the most part it's a humble market.

Ron Kemp

Google
I performed here! I'm a freelance musician, or a busker. I perform at many Farmer's Markets around the area. This was my first appearance at this one. Very small, by comparison, but very energetic. Met some wonderful locals there, as well.

Lydia Leonard

Google
There's a little bit of everything for everyone. From fresh eggs to smoked salmon. If you're lucky, you'll come on a day when they have live music. The vendors are all nice and helpful. The best time to come is spring and summer when fruits and veggies are bountiful.

Google
Love Fillmore F.M...we visit every Saturday. The berry guy (strawberry blackberries & raspberries) has the best ever! Seriously..they're amazingly sweet- consistent too. All around great little market with super fresh hi quality fruits & veggies, flowers and a few baked goodies (check out the mini fruit pies like lemon cheesecake, cherry berry or pecan and try not to eat it all b4 you get home)😁 Cheers💙

Google
One of the few markets with pretty much no organic produce, and therefore prices are generally lower, which in my view, isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think farmer's market as a place that offers fresh local produce, not strictly organic. Easily accessible by public transit and near Japantown, this market is conveniently located, but if you only buy organic, this market may not be the best choice. I like to think of buying local produce as a way to support local farmers, where you get to know the people from whom you buy.

Google
Oh my god I walked all the way out to this place thinking it was going to be hearty and fulfilling like the farmers market at the Civic Center but wow no. I'll tell you what was huge though.... the waste of my time which I'll never get back but at least I can say that I've been there though and can give my honest opinion which is this..It would be totally worth it if you waited a day or two to make it to the heart of San Francisco Farmers market that goes at the Civic center because there are way more stands more variety the produce doesn't look like it's bottom of the barrel off the floor pick if you know what I mean which is what I experienced at the Fillmore Farmers market anyway I don't want to speak bad about them they're just trying to make an honest but that's my opinion maybe it's not humble but it is my own.

Google
This is a great medium-size farmers market with a variety of produce and food venders, including baked goods, Indian food, and the newly-joined pupusas. They also have a live jazz band starting around 10:30/11am in the adjoining area with plenty of room for kids to run around and dance. Wise Sons bagel shop (tasty but way overpriced), Boba Guys, and Starbucks are across and street and next door to the market as well.

Claudia Zaghi

Google
Small but well furnished Farmer's market. There are normally a couple of veggie stands, one for berries, one for fish, one for pies and one with naan and curry sauces. You can park your car in Safeway's parking lot or take the 22, it stops right in front of the market.

Yelp
Many years later and I still think about my days of heading downstairs to pick up some penoy(sp?) balut eggs for my dogs' weekend treat. I can't find the penoy variety anywhere near me since I moved away from the area. This was such a fun market to walk through and even better: it was right outside of my apartment. Lots of fun music. Only downsides were that it took away a few parking spots from the tenants and the fact that I wasn't allowed to cross the market street with my dogs. They always made me walk around the entire thing due to food safety rules.

Yelp
Went there last Saturday! Still operating with COVID safe conditions and there are about 15 booths there. All the owners were super friendly. I got some strawberries and blackberries. The owner throws in a couple extra strawberries if you buy a big pack which is always great. Prices were also lower than in the standard grocery store. I think there were around 3-4 vegetable booths, one that sold eggs ($6-9 for a dozen, also has duck eggs), smoked salmon, honey, and even baked goods. My favorite was definitely Santa Rosa flowers, the flower booth. They sell bouquets of flowers ranging from $3-8 and the best way to brighten your day. Although there was a bit of everything, you don't have much to compare against since there was mostly only one of each kind minus the vegetable booths, so you just kind of gotta trust that they have reasonable prices, but this was such a cute neighbourhood farmer's market that's definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
It's a beautiful Saturday today, but super windy. So much so that some of the vendors are grabbing onto the poles of their stand so that they wouldn't blow down. This is a small farmer's market, with less than a dozen stalls, but it's one of the few farmer's market in SF held on Saturdays. The one in Alemany also operates on Saturdays, but parking is crazy there and there's always swarms of people. The one in the Marina is larger and more fun, but that's only on Sundays. Sometimes I just want something easy - just to grab some fresh fruit and veggies from a stand or two, and call it a day. Whenever you're in this kind of a mood, the Fillmore Farmers' Market should do the job. The basic staples are available, but there are no stalls selling food to eat on the spot, with the exception of a bakery stall which is usually always here. My favorite stall is the one selling smoked fish, both salmon and trout. There are restaurants within walking distance of the Fillmore Market. The Boba Guys and Wise Sons are just a few footsteps away from the market. Japantown is about a half mile away, and, of course, Safeway is directly across the street. If you're up for a 5 minute drive, or a 15 minute walk, head up the hill to Fillmore Street, one of my favorite spots in the City with plenty of cute shops and restaurants.

Yelp
This is a fun farmers market to visit. I happen to be at the bagel place that's on the main street right next to the farmers market. In addition they had a band and they were a blast to watch. What more can ask for and a beautiful San Francisco morning. Great vegetables, fun things to eat and free music! Check this farmers market out you'll enjoy it

Yelp
Let's be honest, this is a tough town to carve out a niche in the Farmers' Market game. And, let's be even realer, Saturday morning has a pretty big rival in this game down at the Ferry Building - or, Grand Lake over in Oakland for that matter. Yet, Fillmore Farmers' Market still holds its own. While the scope and scale is a heck of a lot more limited at this market, it has a great character and is worth a visit. What sets this market apart? Well, if you are familiar with the Fillmore District, then you know that Jazz is a big part of its history - in the 40's and 50's it was known as the Harlem of the West. (Don't you love how SF is always compared to some other place as our geographic version: Paris of the West, Baghdad by the Bay, The City that both Sleeps and Sleeps in and Enjoys a nice Brunch, etc.) Well, they've got live jazz here in the mornings on Saturday. It's usually pretty cool, and on a sunny day it's always fun to sit outside and listen to good music. The market itself is pretty solid. There aren't a million vendors, but there is still a great selection of low cost and very fresh produce. They also have a couple of additional vendors taking care of things like fresh flowers, olive oil, honey, smoked fish, and Sukhi's always seems to have a stand (just like they seem to at every Farmers' Market). Overall, this is a pretty small market that occupies less than one full block, just off of Fillmore on O'Farrell. It usually does a pretty brisk business. Be aware, they do roll up the sidewalks right at 1pm, and you are best off getting herein the 10-11am range. I would suggest that if you never come to the Fillmore District, this may be a good opportunity. Overall, there isn't a ton of great stuff over here, but you can make a morning out of it if you want to hit the market, and then either walk south to Alamo Square and take in The Painted Ladies, or up Fillmore to Pacific Heights, which is full of awesome little shops and restaurants. That said, there are some fun places to check out on the Fillmore as well. If you're looking for some BBQ, Black Bark is right here and is most definitely on point with their BBQ game. Japantown is right here too. Or, catch the 5-Muni out to the Park just a few blocks south. Or, catch the 22-Muni up Fillmore and head to the Cow Hollow/Marina. Good times abound in The City.

Yelp
Happy to have this Farmers Market in our Neighborhood....After walking my Buddy at 8am...Would just dash to this place to get our Vegetables...Fruits and Fresh Flower for the week.....Always Looking forward to this place....Only Saturdays...

Yelp
I just can't wait for the food market. The stuff here are so special. From all around. I am really expecting for this already!

Yelp
A teeny tiny farmers market with just the basics. This place is only one small street, but it has most of what you need to make a yummy meal. They only have 1-2 vendors of every kind of offering, so maybe 2 berry sellers, 2 veggie sellers etc. It seems like most people come here for the smoked salmon or the berry people :) Good to note, no: Avocados Not a lot of herbs or Aromatics My personal favorite is the fig guy in the back. It's pretty teeny tiny so might not be worth making a drive out far, but what they have is of great quality. Also, not a rough crowd like the Civic Center farmers which is nice

Yelp
Fillmore's farmers market is on the side street next to starbux. not many vendors present. (maybe it's holiday related. veggie/fruit vendors not more than a dozen. little organics seen. cheap fruits for .75 cents/lb. bought a few. affiliate: pacific saturdays: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. food vendors: -indian food -cheese guy -smoked fish guy notes; -good place to pick up asian veggies. save trip to chinatown/99 ranch. -free parking available on steiner.
google avatar

Yelp
So after Chinatown, we decided to check out Japan town since we had some extra time allocated on the itinerary. However, we took a wrong turn and ended up here. It was a pleasant accident. This small neighborhood farmer's market featured some interesting items. The fruits honestly weren't sweet but there was a popcorn stand, and an Afghan stand. All of the stands were very inviting, offering many free samples. The Afghan stand especially wouldn't give up, it was good stuff but I was full! Just a very nice thing to check out and see. The locals were extremely welcoming.
google avatar

Mila N.

Yelp
Love this Farmer markets because all the vegetables are so fresh and crispy sweet. I will definitely suggest other people to check out this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Extra disappointed with the food department food looks delicious but u have to be standing at least 40 minutes to get a piece of chicken or a sandwich these place stupid
google avatar

Gordon O.

Yelp
This market isn't as huge as others around the city but you get produce that's in season at a reasonable price. My favorite stalls here include the vendors that sell the Asian veggies, fresh orange & pomegranate juices and samosas for 3/$5! O yeah, there's a jazz band that plays close to noon until early afternoon.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Another small neighborhood farmer's market. We walked by on Saturday, and found some great snacks to take to the movies!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
The avocados! The Indian food! The strawberries! The hot dudes! The prices! The LIVE JAZZ! This is possibly my favorite Farmers' Market in San Francisco. Is it as huge and frantic and overwhelming as the Embarcadero? No. Which means, of course, a smaller selection and less likelihood that you will have an entire breakfast worth of free samples... but it also means friendly, personable interactions, great prices, a real community feel, and a delightful, family-friendly atmosphere. Besides, nothing can beat the joy I get from grooving to the live jazz as I munch on my fresh fruit and play peek-a-boo with the giggling baby running around next to me.
google avatar

S M.

Yelp
Highlights of this small Saturday Farmers' Market: - live jazz entertainment in the public area near the fountain - fantastic place to have a picnic, listen to tunes and smile at a seemingly cool crowd from the neighborhood - delectable tamales and yummy smelling food that ALL looked inviting - clean venue, no dogs invited, and easy meter parking - decent produce and grass-fed meat selection Lowlight: - couldn't easily find a bathroom but this is not a knock on the Market itself, just a heads-up...we found one at the corner Starbucks...

Yelp
This little Farmer's Market is close to my apartment, and dear to my heart. Like most farmer's market in SF, it opens every Saturday from morning to early afternoon. It's small, but definitely charming. My favorite Saturday routine is going to the gym in the morning (one minute walk away from the market), grab an ice latte after and then take a stroll in the market. You can find in season vegetables and fruits, freshly made pastries and cheese, olive oil of many flavors, fresh seafood (butter fish strip is so yummy!), smoked salmon, reasonably priced flowers/small plants, and much more! My must visit places include the egg stand where you can choose the size, color and quantity of eggs (the guy behind is always so friendly), produce and flower stand that sells $2 bundle of flowers, a veggie/fruit stand near the entrance (mmm juicy tomatoes). On sunny days there's even live jazz playing near the Fillmore center fountain. What's a better way to get your weekly grocery shopping done?
google avatar

Gourmet G.

Yelp
This seasonal market features fresh produce, breads, crafts, and flowers, and frequently there's live music. Open from 9:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday from late April through mid-November. It's small, but the vendors are first rate.
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
I am continually blown away by the impressive selection of reasonably priced, high-quality produce on offer along this small stretch of the Fillmore. It's one of my favorite places to get vegetables in the city, because there are 2-3 vendors that always show up with a great selection. The farmers are super friendly, and on several occasions I've scored free extra beet greens that other customers didn't want. Love that it's not too crowded but has a great vibe, and I can pick up my week's worth of fruit, veggies, eggs, bread and flowers every Saturday. Definitely try to go earlier, because that's when you get the cream of the crop!
google avatar

Dru M.

Yelp
I love farmers markets...especially ones that are located in front of my apartment complex. There's something fabulous about waking up to the sounds of the vendors and live jazz...city living at it's best. Market offers fresh fruits and veggies, variety of flowers (bouquets and small trees), breads, cheese, smoked salmon and even a booth specializing in Indian cuisine. There's also live jazz in the courtyard...very entertaining. I've walked through the market several times, stopping at each booth and everyone has always been friendly and very helpful. Have a question about something? You'll get the answer quickly. Note - open every Saturday from 930a-130p Overall...great selection, great prices...I highly suggest you give the Fillmore Farmers Market a try!
google avatar

Carly W.

Yelp
This market is pretty small, but you can find some steals here. I have found that it is way cheaper to buy fruits and vegetables from the farmers market instead of the grocery store. Also, definitely go by the Indian and Afghan stands, which are Sukhi and Bolani. I bought a jam from each and they are very good. They jams work well in a lot of foods and are also great on a cracker with cream cheese. They also give you free samples so you can try before you buy. The market is also great for nuts, cookies, bread, flowers, eggs, etc. This is definitely a fun and conveniently located market.
google avatar

Jade F.

Yelp
This is a cute little farmer's market. It's fun to come out here Saturday morning and say hi to your neighbors. They don't have a very big selection, but most of the staples (onions, potatoes, in-season fruit). Unfortunately, I noticed that some of the things aren't as fresh as you would expect from a farmer's market. I tried buying my week's worth of produce like I would at any market, and many of the things started going bad in two days (broccoli, cherries, peaches, etc). What's unique about this market is that they also have vendors that sell fresh ravioli, Indian spices, and local cheese. I've tried the butternut squash ravioli and really enjoyed it. I've tried the cheese, and really liked that too (on pizza, grilled cheese and mac-n-cheese). From the Indian spice vendor, I bought one of their packaged tikka masala blends, that you just add cream and water for a thick sauce to pour over your choice of protein or vegetables. It was super easy, but not very satisfying. I'd rather make it from scratch. I'd probably come back for the community feel and the ravioli, but not much else.
google avatar

Kokoro I.

Yelp
Its cute, nice touch with live jazz, but too damn small. This is not for farmer's market fresh veggie hunt kinda place, but to have a coffee and roam around for 15 min and listen to jazz for 15 min. Its cute though. Oh, and the sign said they accept food stamps. So that's nice.
google avatar

Yelp
So the last day this year is Nov. 13, 2007. In rememberance of the Veteran's of Vegetable Wards. But Terry's selling his persimmons and what about the organic strawberries in November? Aren't they from Oxnard? What about Vegetarian Thanksgiving Gourd-ing Gourges? AND the free jazz?!??!?!? ******** Sometimes a live jazz combo in the background and happy that this Farmers Market presents seasonal fruits, vegetables and flowers presumably from farmers within a 400 mile radius. Non farmers selling baked goods, glycerine soaps and handmade SCHTUFF.. Fillmore and O'Farrell Street! Saturdays 9am-1pm For 2008: April 29 -Nov. 17, 2008? For 2005...TERRY FARMS had the sweetest, and best White Nectarines around. The 2006 farming weather just not the best for stone fruit. Nice all around guy...Terry, and now his Grandson too! Or find him @ Kaiser on Geary, whenever they have their mini-Farmers market on Wednesday around noon?
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
This market is a little small, but there are tons of greens, eggs, fruit, and meals here. I was able to get all the greens I wanted for the week for really cheap.
google avatar

Wayne R.

Yelp
I am happy to find this small neighborhood FM. It's on the small side but the prices are great, and the produce is FRESH and high quality. I went for the mini Kale bunch for $1.50 which was fresh and yummie. Also Broccoli in small florettes were incredible and a big handful was $1! love it. I was impressed with the Live Jazz band playing on the plaza near a fountain, and the honey lady is very friendly. I got the eggs from San Jose too, with super-friendly vendor selling a nice selection of any kind of egg you could want, including quail. yummers It was my first time...happened to be walking by, totally out of my usual path and was very happy to find this great little nutritious treat!

Asia C.

Yelp
The quality, price and selection of fruit is pretty good for the San Francisco area. There are a decent amount of vendors. I don't like how parking is difficult in this area and how crowded it can be but that's me.
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
This little market just started up again on April 29, but I'm already making plans to pick up more of my produce from their vendors, maybe even on a weekly basis. I got delicious strawberries that are way sweeter and cheaper than Safeway's, organic salad greens and stir-fry ingredients, and outstanding samosas. Oh, and also some cheap flowers to adorn the kitchen table. It would ge 5 stars if only it had more vendors, but I'm hoping that it'll pick up a little later in the season. Yay for shopping local!
google avatar

Leah R.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars for this market. I'll add a fifth once they get bigger. Great prices, passionate vendors and not busy! Everything I buy from here is fresh and full flavoured. It's a Saturday morning ritual for me now. Try the berry guy (I forget his name but he always says "god bless") and the tomato man. You won't be disappointed, they really have great product and truly care about their customers. Can't wait to see the bounty that late summer brings to this market.
google avatar

Alex Z.

Yelp
Sure, the selection here doesn't compare to the world-famous Embarcadero Farmer's Market, but who wants to deal with hoards of annoying tourists and never-ending lines on a Saturday morning? I come to Fillmore's Farmers' Market for a pleseant change of pace. The one-block-long outdoor market includes fresh produce, super-cheap dozen eggs (Dr. Isaacs knows what I'm talking about!), and authentic Indian foods and spices. Infinite free samples for breakfast? Yes please!
google avatar

Maile N.

Yelp
This farmers' market takes place every Saturday from 9AM-1PM. It is easy to get here by Muni 38 or 22. This market is manageable and not too overwhelming. They have a little bit of everything, some bread, samosas, fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, eggs, fish, nuts, olives, and sometimes they have hot food stands like 1300 Fillmore (love their mushroom grits and shrimp grits - both are must haves!). I went to this market this morning and bought plenty of fruits like blackberries, cherries and rasberries, plus I got some bok choy, tomatoes and squash blossoms - love it all!
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
I feel like this is a hidden gem. Most people I talk to either don't know about this farmer's market or forget about it. Yes it is small, and that is some of its appeal. Sometimes I don't want to battle hundreds of people to look at dozens of stalls. Sometimes I do. Most times I just want to pick up a few produce items and go. I love the small neighborhood feel, I like the jazz (although I'm not a big jazz person, the little one likes hearing the live music, parking doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. When I remember that its a Saturday and I want to go to the Farmer's Market I try to go here (although I'm a sucker for the Ferry Plaza I do admit).
google avatar

Kailyn G.

Yelp
I like this market a lot. It's much closer to my apartment than the ferry building and I think the prices are a lot cheaper. Plus, it's obviously less crowded which makes my shopping faster. It's only about half a block long, so obviously less selection. But for veggies and fruit, there are multiple stands so you can be a little bit picky. I come every Saturday to grab my staple veggies for the week. I always grab onions, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, and some leafy greens. There are stands for eggs, honey, meat and bread as well if that's your thing. Plus live music is always nice to have
google avatar

EatNation C.

Yelp
Love this farmers' market. I went last Saturday and 'lo and behold! Squash blossoms are back! I bought some and cooked them immediately, b/c squash blossoms have a short and sweet life. You can use my recipe here! http://eatnation.com/blogs/2010/05/04/squash-blossoms-in-season-at-farmers-market/

Dani D.

Yelp
Not as big as the Ferry Building Farmers' Market, but has most of things I buy at the Ferry Building without the crowds. I don't know why I make the bi-monthly trek to the Ferry Building when I could just go to the Fillmore market most of the time. Oh wait, I remember now, it's the pushy Afghan people that somehow always convince me to spend more money than I meant to. Before I walked to that end of the market, I had done a great job of only spending $20 for bread, a variety of fruits and vegetables, and cheese -- enough for a whole week of nutritious meals. Somehow, after passing that corner, I had bought twice as much stuff. Like other people have noted, their pitch works on almost everyone. It's like they've mastered the Jedi mind trick or something. "You will buy bread AND sauce...."
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
Where else can you buy fresh veggies and fruits to live jazz? Its small with good quality fruits, veggies and ready made Indian food. Great location - right in the middle of the city! UPDATE: Just bought the best Asian Pears I've ever had from Rhodes Family Farms and amazing eggs from Olivera Egg Ranch! One more thing, this farmers market needs a cheese stand. Oh how I heart cheese!
google avatar

Ali G.

Yelp
Super small but good! Only about a 1/2 block long. I got bread, onions, lemons, cucumber, squash, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant and bell peppers. there was plenty of fresh fruit there - peaches, strawberries, figs, apples, and grapes. A couple of vendors sold desserts, italian spreads, eggs etc. Nice small circular area outside right next to fm with quiet live music and an area to sit. This fm gets an extra star since you can park hassle free and for free at safeway, walk across the street to shop, then go to safeway for anything you may need that the fm didnt have in order to cook a fabulous meal at home.
google avatar

Carmel U.

Yelp
A great farmer's market! Lots of variety, from asian veggies and fruits, to smoked salmon, flowers and farm fresh EGGS! I always enjoyed walking to this Farmer's Market when I used to live down the street. They play live jazz and people sit and listen or even get up and dance! The market is conveniently located near several bus lines, which make it very accessible. The only issue I have is that the street it is located on is basically a wind tunnel. Other than that, it's a great event to attend on Saturday mornings. The vendors are all so nice and really take the time to get to know their customers. Part of my favorite thing about shopping here is catching up with my favorite vendors! Prices are good and the quality is always excellent. Love it!

Yelp
growing weekly, live jazz, mr.Fillmore is always there. Pretty wide range of prices. Good pre=made food including spring rolls, samosas, empanadas, breads, baked goods and pasta sauce. http://www.pcfma.com/marketdetail.php?market_id=13

Yelp

Yelp
is there anything more sad than the tail end of a farmer's market? when a quick scan of the aisles offers nothing but a sad, wilted head of romaine, some flaccid carrots, and three semi-squished baskets of cherry tomatoes? luckily, i haven't had to see this kind of pathetic scene in nearly two months - ever since i moved right next door to the fillmore farmer's market. people, i cannot stress the sheer joy of waking up on a saturday, rolling down the elevator in pajamas and glasses, filling my arms with fresh produce, and proceeding the 40ft back to my kitchen to fix brunch for the roomies. this market isn't nearly as well-known and/or crowded as the ferry plaza market, and i like it that way. this farmer's market doesn't make me feel like i'm in a footrace for the freshest produce; it encourages relaxed browsing and low-pressure perusing. there's a great stall that sells jalapeno and blue cheese-stuffed olives and freshly made raviolis (tip: the plain cheese and the spinach ones were good, but the lobster ravioli tasted more like pressed fish). and since they nearly always have beautifully creamy and delicious avocados, they've got my business almost every week.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
A wonderful neighborhood farmer's market. They have a few organic farmers. Delicious food stands and samples galore. It is my destination place to pick up smoked salmon and smoked sturgeon. It is a smart idea to compare pricing. I noticed quite a difference on the price of onions and brussel spouts. A few other notables: the flower guy, the candle guy and the woman who has amazing sorbet. It is a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning.
google avatar

Braden B.

Yelp
Popcorn, Indian Food, flowers, incense, jams, jellies, candles, live jazz music in the courtyard, easy access from 2 Muni bus lines, smiles, great deals, pastas, samosas, and good space ratio to move around.
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
Love this farmer's market. I purchased some gorgeous flowers today as well as some delicious strawberries. I've just moved into a new apartment on O'Farrell and I'm so happy to be this close to such a great market!
google avatar

Sam F.

Yelp
I'm really glad this Farmers' Market comes every Saturday! It's a great place to pick up some fresh and local produce, meat, fish, eggs and other tasty items. Located on O'Farrell street right next to the Fillmore Center this market is awesome! Most of the food is priced well too so you can get your items for a pretty good price and support the farmers in the area =D
google avatar

Becca K.

Yelp
I'm glad it's summer, and this farmers market is back:) Today I bought amazing strawberries, squash, lettuce, plums, and broccoli along with pasta sauce. This is a nice local market (families, elderly, cute dogs...) with just the right mix of organic, regular, and specialty goods. Plus, the prices are half that of the Ferry Building Farmers Market.

Yelp
This farmer's market is a delight. It's held every Saturday morning from 9 to 1. It is located next to Starbucks and across the street from Safeway. The Fillmore Farmer's Market is small, but has all the essentials: fruit, veggies, nuts, eggs, honey... and of course some treats like smoked salmon, sundries, baked goods, and Indian food. Most of the vendors are reasonably priced. You can walk away without feeling disconcerted with how much you've spent on fresh produce (in this case, I'm thinking of every visit I make to the Saturday market at the Ferry Building! Eeep!). The vendors are quite friendly and know the neighborhood well. Like any farmer's market, I would suggest getting there early to get the best pick and it does start to crowd by 9:30/10.

Yelp
Still one of my favorites. Why go to a co-op or to a giant chain when here, your money goes straight to the farmer?

Yelp
Happy Boy Farms & the somosa guy are enough reason to stop by this tiny little farmer's market. Both were favorites at my beloved Santa Cruz market, and it made my week when I discovered them down the street from my apartment this Saturday.
